I'm in LOVE with the little bakery. It doesn't look like much from the outside, I would easily have never given it a chance if I have not seen the reviews beforehand. There are these wonderful friendly ladies that work in this bakery that remind me of my grandmother. As soon as you walk in you are hit with the amazing smell of freshly baked donuts. My three year old inhaled and said "wow it smells so good!". We came at 7am on a Saturday because I had read that they sell out pretty quickly. I was really surprised to see how busy it was on a Saturday morning. I can tell this place has loyal regulars that know about this hidden gem. Their donuts are huge, fluffy, delicious and freshly baked. This is hard to find in the Hampton roads area. First impression it smelt amazing. Then we started asking staff about pricing of things we wanted and what flavors were. She seemed a bit annoyed by it. We ordered one dozen donuts assorted, One large glazed pretzel twist. One apple fritter. The fritter was the driest apple fritter I have ever tasted. The glazed and super were good, the chocolate frosting tasted like store bought frosting. Now to the non doughnut items Cannoli- nothing good to say plain and I think frost or filling aren't their thing. Cupcake and slice of cake- buttercream frosting taste like it has some sort of preservative in it giving it a nasty flavor. All around disappointing customer service and disgusting food. However, one thing I will say, service has always been great but this time one younger blonde girl was sort of passive aggressive and trying to get smart with us while we ask which is which (since we do not know baked good terminologies). Whoever you are, there's no need to be rude and have the need to get smart to your customers. "Sweet dreams are made of these! Who am I to disagree?" Naa's never disappoints. Hometown, local shop with a forever long track record of continually serving up the BEST donuts and baked goods in town. Donut cost has increased over the years but, at $10 for a dozen, they're still VALUE PRICED and 100% WORTH IT! I don't hate Dunkin' but they're more expensive at half the size. Grove, the hard-working baker, does a great job of producing product and at times, leaving the back to interact with customers. My kids love chatting with him as they scarf one donut on site, a time-honored tradition; he always asked "can I keep my job?" They always nod an emphatic yes! Sure, there's no restroom or pricing, but use the potty before you go so you don't pee yourself from excitement over the quality deal you'll receive. Employees are mostly friendly, especially even when I phone in for my fix. Now they just write OMG - "oh my gosh" - instead of Pravash. Prickly, but I like it! Parking lot can be tricky to navigate; just pay attention to on-coming Tidewater Dr traffic if exiting to that side. read more

Low prices, friendly staff and most importantly - insanely good tasting pastries. I'm a sweet tooth, so personally the Reese's cupcake cookie was incredible. The cookie was moist, slightly crunchy on the edges, and it was a very generous size. Naturally, I chose the one that had three halves of Reese's in it. No regrets. The cinnamon sugar twist is a usual favorite for me and I somehow miss the apple fritters every time I come by - go in early or miss out! You may miss this place if you don't turn off Tidewater Dr at the right spot, but don't worry, Naa's is worth turning back and waiting at a few traffic lights. read more

So many heaven-sent desserts to choose from! Thanksgiving, I ordered the Apple Pie, a Traditional yellow cake with chocolate icing and a Lemon Cake with white icing / coconut. All were beyond delicious! For CHRISTmas, I'll order those again and a Sweet Potato pie too. A Pineapple upside down cake would be good too. I love doughnuts and I'm always on the lookout for a new doughnut shop. I had passed this bakery for nearly a year, but never stopped in. The neighborhood is not the best and the storefront matches the neighborhood. However, my wife heard they had good doughnuts so I went to check it out. The service was decent. The workers weren't falling over themselves for the customers, but why would they? They were professional. They took your money, gave you baked goods and kept it moving. The doughnuts looked very good. I got a glazed doughnut and a cinnamon roll. The glazed doughnut was twice the size of a normal doughnut. The cinnamon roll was the size of 3.5-4 doughnuts. They were thick and cakey. I'm not saying they were bad, but this is not my preferred style of doughnut. I also purchased a petit four. It was very good. They had other baked goods that I would be willing try. So I might be back. read more

I am really conflicted about this place. The lady working up front was super nice. The price was not bad at all, a massive box of treats was $20. But the treats ranged from delicious to exactly as I would expect them to taste but nothing special to meh, to downright awful. A lot of it is probably personal taste, so I still highly recommend trying it yourself to decide. So far I have tried: 1. This iced, nut, pastry Danish thing. Pretty darn delicious. Definitely worth another try. 2. Cream cheese Danish. Had a weird aftertaste that tastes like a wet dog smells. We wasted the entire thing, minus one bite for me and one for Hubs. It was terrible. Will steer clear of the bow shaped danishes in the future. 3. Pecan topped cinnamon roll. Meh. Tasted like a slightly dryer version of those pecan wheels you get at the gas station. Just meh. 4. Apple fritter. Tasted exactly like I expect an apple fritter to taste. I wasn't floored, but I wasn't disappointed either. It is a hair in the dry side though, but since I just drank it with my latte anyway, it didnt really matter. I was very impressed by the size of that monster however. It was a mammoth. If you ever want a monster donut and only have a couple of bucks, this is the way to go. 5. German chocolate cake. This is the new star of the show. The cake was delicious, the pecan icing was delicious, and then it is covered by this heavenly chocolate ganache that keeps the pecan icing from escaping. Yes, I love that ganache, and yes, I am eating German chocolate cake for breakfast. I am an adult, and since the cake will be long gone by the time my mom reads my Yelp review, I can do what I want. 6. Piggy cake! No idea what this tastes like, it is just cute. As most people lately, I found out about this bakery during Covid on a FB group page. Almost every post I saw featured this bakery. I know it's been around for a while, and I don't know who put this place on the map but it's a little overrated. I knew I was gonna be nearby for an appointment so I decided to check this place out. It's a cute little bakery, nothing fancy but you can tell it's a pretty old place, shared in a dingy shopping strip next to a hardware store. From the posts I've read about Naa's, I was worried nothing good would be left but there was still a nice variety of baked goods to choose from. I had my eyes on the huge donuts, and got chocolate glazed, Boston Crème and pineapple upside cake donuts. I also got what looked like pizelles which are Italian cookies. The lady who was helping me was friendly and patient with my questions; "what's this, what's that?" and the prices are pretty decent. I agree with a previous review in that the chocolate glaze did seem a bit waxy and found it difficult to taste any chocolate. However I loved the custard filling and the texture of the donuts were perfect, fresh and pillowy. Almost reminiscent of the donuts from Sugar Shack (I miss that place, btw)! read more

I had heard amazing things about this bakery on Facebook groups so since I had a weekday off we decided to give it a try! They had a big selection of cookies in one case, cakes and other items in another, and doughnuts and danishes in the third. Mom loves a good creamhorn so she got one of those. It had a solid outer crust but was missing the buttery taste and was almost too hard. The cream filling was ok but seemed to lack some vanilla flavor. The layered chocolate cake looked like the type with cooked chocolate frosting my grandmother used to make, so I couldn't say no. Similar to the creamhorn, it was ok but seemed to be missing something. The cake itself was moist, but there was a weird aftertaste. The butter twist doughnut was a great yeast raised doughnut. It has a nice buttery taste and the glaze was great - sweet but not too overpowering. The regular twist doughnut was similar. The apple fritter was excellent - perfect balance of outer crunch and inner softness with lots of cinnamon flavor. It was my favorite thing in the box! The cream cheese danish was good, was a nice light dough and had plenty of cream cheese filling. I wish it had something else - some sort of berry topping or something to give it contrast. The coconut lemon one was probably the least favorite - the lemon flavor seemed artificial and the combo just didn't work for me. Texture of the dough itself was good. The items here are huge and not at all expensive. If you like a pretty simple yeast doughnut, this may be a good fit for you. For me it missed the mark (except the apple fritter - I wouldn't say no to another). My other issue is that there are no labels in the bakery case - a lot of the doughnuts look similar so I had to keep asking what each one was. And same with the cookies. That takes a lot of time and holds up the process. read more

Y'all, if you are ever in the mood for a real doughnut... This is your place. I read so many things about this bakery on Facebook and how they sell out very quickly. So I set my alarm for 5am to get there a little before they open at 6am (I live fairly close by). The donuts are HUGE. Like portioned for a giants. I purchased a butter twist, chocolate eclair, chocolate glazed, regular glazed donut, and 1/4lb of cookies for less than $8.00! I used to love Sugar Shack when they had a location here. It's been so hard to find a place that makes these kind of doughnuts. I'm so glad I found this place! Even better- it's a locally owned mom and pop establishment. I've eaten their food that was brought in by coworkers for years and have been pleased with their choices. I decided to come inside to order for myself. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. I was expecting to pay a lot more for the LARGE items I received. I ordered the apple fritter and the apple danish. The apple fritter is HUGE!! I've been meaning to try this place for a while. I just happened to be at food lion across the street at 6 am and noticed it was open. It's all fresh baked goods that they make each morning. One thing's for sure, their donuts are massive!! They also have other sweet pastries like cakes, pies, etc. I bought 2 cinnamon rolls, an Apple fritter and a glazed donut for $8! All were so delicious but will probably take 3-4 days for me and my fiancé to finish. Nice, soft and fluffy on the inside and a firm sugar coating on the outside. Would certainly come back to try other things. Would 100% prefer this place over Krispy Kreme or Dunkin' Donuts. read more

Awful customer service, specifically the workers in the back. Counter help was courteous but the ones in the back hatefully yelling at customers is uncalled for. After witnessing this, we did not purchase our choices fearing how they may have been baked by such an angry mean person. Honestly, it was probably a good thing because this place was extremely filthy. When we first entered we debated leaving because it was so dirty looking. So, guess watching this woman talk to her customers the way she did was a sign. We found another place, O's that was fabulous!!!! New to the area and this is by far the best bakery and donut place! Fresh, tasty and big!!

I recently came here, early morning, to try out some of the donuts. I ended up purchasing an apple fritter the size of your face, a large cinnamon-sugar donut, a pineapple upside-down donut, and a boston cream-type donut (vanilla custard inside and chocolate coating on the outside). Oh my lord. The woman who helped me said you can always call in an order for the next day, because they sell out very quickly, especially of the apple fritters. I believe her. Nobody should be left to tackle one of those on their own. All of the donuts were extra-large and delicious. I found the dough itself to be very tasty. Even the plain donut dusted in cinnamon sugar was amazing, and just perfect to go with a cup of coffee as a special treat. This was my second visit to Naa's; the last one had been several years ago. All I really remember from that is I bought a petit-four that had a peppery aftertaste that I couldn't figure out. I don't know if that's still true for the petit-fours, but I can attest there's no pepper hanging out with the donuts! Price was extremely affordable--total for everything was eight and some change. DELICIOUS!!!! So many pastries, donuts and cakes to choose from. I bought several donuts but after eating the first one, I knew my kids would be getting a treat later. Usually when you find a big version of anything edible, the taste suffers. Not at Naa's. Moist and light for the donut I ate. The cream filling was smooth and not overly sweet. Just right. The staff was very nice. I've had this place bookmarked since Covid when everyone was going crazy about it and was finally in the area one morning. I came a little late so a lot of the pastries were sold out but I did get a honey bun, black and white and two white chocolate macadamia cookies. The honey bun was massive and tasted good at first but then left a fake taste in your mouth. The cookies weren't anything great either and we ended up throwing them away days later. Maybe I just came on an off day because there are so many great reviews but it will be a long time before I try them again. read more

The staff was very friendly and the fritter I got was the size of my head ( I have a small head) but I took it to work to share with my three coworkers as you can see from the pic it was cut up it's was the size of a regular plate and the best part it was only $3 yes you read that right. read more

The building looks ahhhhh.... But you can't judge it without tasting. The staffs are friendly and seems enjoining their products everyday. They open 6:00am. They work in the sweet kitchen where they can munch anytime. I miss the days I worked in many kitchens. I didn't try any colorful ones besides a drain cherry as usual for health issues. Pineapple upside down cake Pretty sweet. They use canned fruits. I don't like the syrup in a pineapple can. I'll not try it again. Mini cannoli Crispy and sweet. I wish they put glazed lemon or orange peal on it. Nuts bun Yum! There is a flavor I can't figure out. I should ask next time. I wish I had cinnamon with me. $5.79 in total! Donuts were sold out.
