Came in here the other day for the lunch buffet. Was a little disappointed that they advertised gulab jamun as part of their dessert for the buffet, since this is my favorite dessert. We also wanted to order the beef samosa, but they were also out of beef. The food we did have was excellent. They fresh bake Naan and to order and bring it to your table. Definitely get the garlic naan, it's so good. The dishes they had were curry potatoes and carrots, butter chicken, chicken tandoori, garlic fish, rice, cabbage, and Pankoras. I am so glad to find this restaurant. It is very cozy and clean, pretty close to the farmer's market, you could find it easily. I tried their lunch buffet, loved it immediately. This is a much better indian dining place as compared to a lot of other indian restaurants that we have been to in Seattle: 5 stars for the quick service. 5 stars for the flavours of our food and loads of vegetarian options. 4 stars for ambience- its nice and dim but nothing unique to make you remember the ambience. 4 stars for a little undercooked chicken that our friends ordered and dry malai koftas but the flavours were delightful. Overall, a surprisingly good experience. Will surely go back again. read more

I walk past this place almost everyday for one reason or another. Saw there was a new place claiming to have Indian food so I had to indulge. Glad I did! Service was great. Ruth was nice and knew when to let me eat my food and play on my phone lol. We ended up having a long conversation about GOT and AHS which was awesome. Food tasted fresh and was presented well in cool little dishes. Easily the best Indian food I've had stateside. Only gave 4 stars because the portion sizes seemed small for the price but I'll go ahead and assume the price reflects the quality of ingredients. BE WARNED- they do not mess around when it comes to spice. My husband and I love our spicy foods, and we've always ordered on the highest level because most restaurants in Bellingham tend to be a little weak in their heat department, plus I am pregnant and cant handle the heartburn my usual tastes would bring. So we ordered a level 4 in the Vindaloo and Tikka Masala expecting some heat but nothing too strong and oh my god we were in tears. It was painful but also so good you didn't want to stop so we sucked it up and took frequent water breaks. We will be ordering again, but we definitely learned our lesson and will order sliiiightly less spicy next time. read more

Naan & Brew is a great restaraunt hidden by terrible decor and even worse customer service. This place is located downtown in a perfect location for people wanting to see Bellingham. From the outside it looks like a cute Urban restaurant. When you walk into the place it is completely underwhelming. There is almost no decor, the ceilings are so high with no contrast, it feels like a school cafeteria. Feeling underwhelmed by decor you hope for some amazing customer service to make you feel welcome...but unfortunately that never happens. When we walked in it seemed as though the waitress literally avoided eye contact with us. Never said "be right with you" or anything. After 60 seconds or so she walked over and grabbed some menus and then asked us how many. No "hi" or "welcome" just a cold shoulder. Once we sat down it took 10 minutes to grab the waitress to order. We had a two year old with us so we ordered her a separate kids meal. When the food was ready only the adult meals came and we had to wait on the kids meal. After 5 minutes of trying to explain to a two year old that she has to wait for her food we asked the waitress when her food would be ready. Finally it came out. As a hint to all waitresses, kids meals should ALWAYS come out first. Let me just say, the food was SO good! I just wish the heart of the restaurant matched the face. read more

One of the biggest aspects that draws me back to Naan and Brew again and again is the really open vibe - there are windows covering two sides of the dining area. Maybe it's the old lady in me speaking but I really hate restaurants that are intentionally dark to create "ambiance". Anyway.. the food is also super tasty albeit a tad pricey. They don't have a ton of seating and can only accommodate a couple of groups larger than 4 or 5 when it's busy so definitely don't expect to come in during a busy dinner shift with a big group and get a table quickly. Happy hour is Sunday through Thursday 11-6 - cheap drinks and $2 off appetizers! And it's definitely worth because the paneer is DELICIOUS. Garlic naan, butter chicken and a half order of paneer is my usual and it comes out to just under $30 including tip (and feeds two!!). 10/10 would recommend! read more

Good--but unfortunately not 100% great. There were not a lot of options and the butter chicken was not very good-and this was the "star" of the meat dish. (Need to roast or braise the chicken instead of just dropping chicken cubes into the sauce, IMO.) The vegetable Korma was great; the tandoori was good; the fish had too heavy a breading. The Kheer was tasty but could have been colder. I'd go back, but not if there are better Indian options. This place is phenomenal for people who need options. As in, pages upon pages (almost makes ordering difficult) of food choices. I haven't made it to the famous lunch buffet yet, but have lurked about for dinner more than once. Excellent sauces, on fish, on lamb, on veggies- they make every dish work with great flavor! I had the very, very expensive salmon cilantro curry with garlic naan (don't even mess with the regular kind, you'll regret it) and deeply enjoyed the taste. Portions could be larger for the cost, but mine was a smaller dish compared to my fiancée's chicken. Loved the beer, wine and cider options. Great selection. The service was great, the curry was phenomenal and just spicy enough, the location is prime and there are one million dishes to try! This is definitely on my return list. read more

We went to Naan & Brew based on it having the the best reviews in the area (Bellingham) but had a super disappointing experience. Firstly, we found the decor awful... a mix between seemingly second hand tables and chairs with a "modern" layout, with absolutely no decor, art, plants etc. Tables are too close together and they played classic rock the entire time. We arrived before 6:00pm so we're offered "happy hour". We ordered the Garlic Naan for $2.59 when its regularly $2.99... thanks for the $0.40 I guess BUT when we received it, it was super small! That's when our server told us that the "happy hour naan" is a smaller portion!?! So it's a whopping 40- cents off for about 1/3rd less... Major buzz kill. Our mains (chicken curry and lamb curry) took 35-40 minutes to come out which seemed unreasonable for typically pre-prepared curries. Flavours were decent but we suspect that our lamb was beef as we eat a lot of lamb and this didn't have the gamy taste were used to. Our server was nice and did a fine job, but not enough to redeem this place. We certainly won't be back. $50+ that could have gone a lot father at several other restaurants in the area. read more

We came in for the lunch buffet and I was very impressed by the service and the food. For $10.99, you get all you can eat buffet with fresh naans! I loved the fact that the service staff took away the used plates right away! The old plates sitting around is usually the worst part for me but Naan & Brew has solved that problem! The butter chicken and the beef meatballs were on point! The curry for the beef meatball was on point and I was honestly surprised at how good it is! We went here last night and I couldn't wait to spread the word. BEST INDIAN FOOD IN BELLINGHAM. Trust me, we've tried the other local spots and there are some good ones, but this was the BEST. First off, service was spectacular! We were greeted immediately even though the place was very busy, and seated shortly after. Each person that came to our table was fast and friendly. Secondly, the places was clean and well appointed and had a simple interior. Lastly, the food was AMAZING! We ordered Malia Kofta , Eggplant Bartha, and a garlic Naan. I cant decide which I enjoyed more. They do a spice scale of 1-5, we ordered a 3, which was pretty mild, so keep that it mind if you prefer spicy 4-5 is the better choice. So friendly that the owner Mike took our family of 6 into the kitchen to see the clay oven and show us how naan bread is made.The kids loved it!! It's refreshing to see an owner with enough confidence to allow you to see the kitchen. Very cool. The food was fresh, the naan bread was awesome, and there wasn't a long wait for our meal. Visited when they were understaffed (which we were told by a breathless overworked host/busser) so this experience might not be indicative of their regular service. Overall the food was really good- albeit a bit expensive, well spiced, the goat was very tender and nice and spicy. (we asked for Medium) The palak paneer tasted good but it was presented a bit haphazardly on a chipped white dinner plate. The standout dish was the beef samosas with daal and yoghurt on top - they were excellent and I'd go back for them alone. Service wise I felt like I was in a dive bar, and not a good one. We didn't get asked if we wanted drinks, there was dirty cutlery from the people before us, and she took away a plate I was still eating off and dropped the check when we were 3 bites into our curry saying 'she'd already printed it so she might as well give it to us" - how about leave it down near the POS? Was also overly familiar; I don't mind chatting but I don't need to hear you bitch out the kitchen and other patrons. Decor is ultra modern - and the TV randomly had music advertorials on a really low volume and their name is a bit misleading - as the 'Brew' part only covers 8 macro beers on tap and a few bottled imports.. not something worth half the name, especially in the PNW. I'd suggest they need more staff to handle the rush so everyone isn't so visibly struggling.. read more

I went here with some friends to share a few dishes for dinner and we had a great experience! The wait staff was friendly and quickly got us seated, even though it appeared pretty busy. Our server was kind and attentive. We ordered butter chicken, chicken korma and lamb korma. All the meals were amazing. The sauces were all flavorful and savory and the meat pieces were cooked to perfection. We had the garlic naan too, which was fresh and delightful. Naan and Brew also has a full bar with a cocktail list. I ordered a mule cocktail, which was light and refreshing. My only issue was the price, but it was truly a wonderful meal and worth every penny. Overall, this is by far the best Indian food in Whatcom county and I'll be coming back soon! read more

So I finally when it opened I had to give it a try and I swear I am hooked. First off having a lunch buffet that brings fresh naans to order is wonderful ! And it all being 8.99 was perfect!!! After trying the buffet so many times I decided it was time to try the dinner menu. So yesterday myself, my sister, brother and few others went and had the best time ever!!! The food was to die for! Hot ! And fresh and filled with flavor! They ask you how spicy you would like the food, it comes out perfect!!! Mike the owner is always there working his tail off which is great to see. I wasn't too impressed with this place, but didn't find it completely bad. This is just for the lunch buffet experience. When first sitting down they offer you the option of regular or garlic naan bread, which is included with the buffet. I enjoyed the garlic and suggest getting it. The buffet line up, I thought was somewhat small with just 8 choices and that's including white rice. The tandoori chicken was a little flavorless. The butter chicken didn't have the taste you would expect when eating butter chicken and the sauce was very watery and runny. The majistic chicken was very good and to me is one of the better dishes on the buffet line at this place. If you happen to be in the area for lunch and just want to grab something quick, maybe stop by. I wouldn't go out of the way to look for this place just to eat. read more

Delicious! I've been waiting for this place to open for the past few months and I must say the wait was worth it. I've been on the look-out for some good Indian cuisine downtown within walking distance from work and I gotta say this place hits the spot! We had the lamb masala, chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan and all were very good. I was able to call my order in for take-out and although I had to wait a little bit more than expected as there was miscommunication between the servers and kitchen, the owner/manager was super friendly and offered free drinks. As this was the first week they opened and they seemed busier than usual, I figured they were still working out some kinks. Overall The food was good and the service was excellent. Foood was delicious! Will definitely have to come back for the lunch buffet. I came on a Friday night and the place was busy. They forgot to give us menus, but my group was seated near the front, so we just grabbed them ourselves. It wasn't a big deal. We were given PLENTY of time to look over our menu before the server took out order. As we waited for our food, I noticed some disorganization with the staff. It seemed like the flow was disrupted or they didn't have a wait system established. Not sure if some of the staff was new or if they are still learning, but I noticed that they forgot to check on a couple tables. Some tables waited a while for their food and ended up taking their food to go. Our table received our food in a reasonable time. Not sure what happened. There were additional disruptions that occurred and pulled some of the staff members away. Their system also lost our order afterwards, but the server was able to recall our order and hand us our bill. Overall, I enjoyed the food. You won't be disappointed. So that's where the 4-star comes in! I would be cautious about weekend dinner time rush. I would have probably ordered take-out if I had known it was busy. read more

Now the food it self was delicious, I've order the rack of lamb 4 star (spicy) it HAD a kick and still be savory, which was nice (I was able still taste it and not burn my taste bud cause of the spice). We also gotten the Garlic Naan which was delicious (I love how its cooked in the clay oven they have). I've also tried the beef Kabobs which was good but not as good as the rack of lamb.
