It's really hard to find cocktails under $10 anymore. The Orion is here serving up delicious and affordable cocktails to Bellingham in style!!! I mean, look how cute my cocktail was??! When I went, most cocktails were $8. I was unfortunate enough to barely miss happy hour (5-7pm) when I went. During happy hour cocktails are $5 each. Other than the amazing deals for cocktails and snacks, the Orion is a very quaint and quirky bar. I love the space theme, vintage video games, small tables, and the separate more private room for larger parties. I saw some negative reviews about service. The night I went I was served by a very kind gentleman. He was slammed with a huge crowd and he handled it very well, and I didn't have to wait that long for my drink. I'll definitely be here again! read more

I've only had the opportunity to be here a few times so far, but it's always been such a genuinely wonderful experience. Very fun room designs, great drinks, as well as incredibly sweet && helpful staff. I absolutely love it here, highly recommend! I'm hoping to return on a Wednesday next to enjoy more live jazz. read more

Came here with a group of 10+ after a wedding and The Orion was exactly what we needed to keep the party going! The decor was fun, we took up the tables in the space themed room for a private party feel. There main room had wooden tables that had a vintage school vibe- great for smaller groups or couples. There's plenty of street parking but the stairs leading up to The Orion does make it less accessible to some folks. The night I came here, I only took shots that the best man of the wedding party bought for everyone - so not much to review there. The prices of their cocktails were a few dollars off from being cheap at $7-9. I did have a sip of the cucumber cocktail and the cucumber taste was very strong- I liked it! I was really surprised by the food options here! Without the food at The Orion, who knows what my hangover after a weekend of wedding drinking would've been?! They have various hot dogs, including vegan options! I got the trash dog and it is every drunk person's dream dog. They also had toppings to customize your dog- relish, mustards (all different types!), onions, ketchup, etc. The ratio of hotdog to bun was bread heavy and they had a water jug right next to the front door- greats points for the Orion on balancing out the negative affects of alcohol. The night we came in was a Sunday and the bartender was a one man show. He checked IDs, made food and drinks! Service was a little slow because of that, but overall a great experience at The Orion! read more

Love this place & keep going back. Fun new drink, menus always an extra unusual special and very inexpensive during happy hour and normal times. New Oddfellows Lodge themed bar in the back is a hoot. read more

This is a really cool spot, I enjoyed their creative cocktails and decor. At 7 the odd fellows bar opens up and that's also a cool spot to see and grab a drink at. I haven't eaten here but their hotdogs do look yummy. The bartender was super nice and quick with our drinks read more

It's a good place to meet people and talk for a bit, but that's it. They've wrongly identified me as drunk twice now for just being friendly and then blame the Liquor and Cannabis board as the reason. I understand cutting people off, but what comes with that is if you do it wrongly there's consequences. Wish I could've liked this place. FYI: I almost never review and only leave only positive reviews. But in this case, cause I've been so unjustly treated like an absolute drunkard I've had to say something. If you come to the Orion, act more sober than sober and you'll get served. read more

Pretty good. Love the 5-7 daily happy hour ($5 drinks). Sometimes I feel terrible after I drink both the gamma ray and Cassiopeia but that's definitely my fault for ordering the two most sugary drinks (they taste so good) but they have lots of other less sugary options and the space theme of the bar is so cool. I love the blue room with the stars and black lights. I've never had a bad experience with the service and the bartenders are always nice. read more

The Orion is a wonderfully simple place, that doesn't feel a drop too simple. Three(ish) rooms; dark, galactic lighting, and cool staff make its cosmic simplicity a winning ingredient. The drinks are delicious and the vibe immaculate, toss a pool table in there and you have your own slice of a perfect night out. It's a sick spot that deserves the loving whispers I've heard about it since I got into town, a round of applause to its creator for a great idea, and to its staff for making it a reality. (I was gonna make an "out of this world" joke, but I'm sure that's been ran dry by this point!) TL;DR I love this place, try it for yourself, it doesn't disappoint. read more

OMG, Orion, where have you been all my life?! I discovered this "spacey" little gem in downtown Bham a couple of weeks ago when a friend and I met for a drink and decided we wanted to go someplace neither of us had been before. After comparing our Yelp bookmarks we ended up at The Orion. It was a cold, quiet Sunday night and we practically had this galaxy-themed place to ourselves. Sitting at the bar, we perused the lengthy and tasty-sounding menu of custom-blended cocktails before settling on a rum concoction that - especially at only $5 during happy hour - was a delicious steal. It came complete with a tropical umbrella, which is always worthy of an extra star in my book! I returned to The Orion a few days later for another tempting rum cocktail and this time shared a macaroni (yes macaroni!) hot dog with another friend. While it was hard to choose from their lively selection of hot dog options, I couldn't resist the idea of a giant dog topped with mac salad. I added a few squirts of BBQ sauce from their well-stocked sauce bar and bit in. It was delicious! I don't know who thought of this, but I'm definitely stealing this idea for my next picnic. Now officially a fan of The Orion, I found myself there again later the same night after the Art Walk - this time with two other friends who had also never been there. Later on a Friday night this place was hopping with the college set, and we grabbed the last two seats. I had yet another rum cocktail (I know, I know) before grabbing an Uber home. The O might just be my new favorite spot downtown. It's easy to miss, but worth finding. Bring your light saber! read more

Orion continues to be one of my very favorite bars as I come back to Bellingham. The drinks are affordable and tasty! The snacks though???! SUCH a steal and the nachos are perfectly spicy. I have heard fantastic things about the hot dogs too. I love coming here, and my only complaint is that it is always unusually warm.. The staff is very nice and attentive, and the vibes are super cool. read more

Great atmosphere and fun drinks. The happy hour prices are amazing, we had craft cocktails that were strong on tasty.

Terrible awful no good mixed drinks. Stick to the taps, bottles, and cans. It may have been a newish bartender on the night I came in. I can't be sure of what I drank and I don't think that she knew either. The food menu looks good and includes vegetarian friendly options. I have yet to try anything. The atmosphere is fun and generally very loud. My favorite room has black lights and constellations. Very cool. This seems to be a popular place, which can make it difficult to find a seat. On some slightly intoxicated night, I'll likely find myself here again. read more

I would give this place 12 stars if possible. That one super friendly bartender I think his name was Pat he was the best and the coolest

chick took one look at me and my friends id didn't even check the rest of ours and said i don't feel comfortable serving you bye. We all are from out of state and 22+ came in on a sunday at like 7pm. Not busy at all refused to give us the time of day and was unpleasant to say the least. Honestly doesn't take that much to be nice about it. Overall just left a bad taste in our mouths. Someone needs to check her attitude. read more

We usually start our nights out drinking here, the prices are great and the atmosphere is pretty nice. Definitely a good spot!

I love this bar! They have lots of fun and interesting cocktails for great prices. They also have cheap beer and a good hotdogs. However, best part is that atmosphere! The celestial theme is super cool. There are constellation paintings all over the walls and mood lighting throughout the bar. It definitely has a classier feel than most bars in Bellingham with comparable prices. Also, the music is quiet enough that you can have a conversation, which is great! read more

Such a lovely bar! With a great relaxed vibe and plenty of good drinks to choose from. My favorite part is how awesome the primary bar tender (potentially owner?) is! He is able to keep track of how many customers he has, make drinks, close bills, check IDs and have nice little chats all while safely wearing his mask! Our group seemed to like the black hole and Cassiopeia the best! read more

Hands down my favorite bar in Bellingham. The atmosphere is great, the drinks are amazing, the staff are awesome and the prices are absolutely perfect. They have a decent menu and I always make sure the Orion is on the list when I'm out. read more

I entered with some buddies and she turned us away right away I'm 22 and all my buddies are 21+. She didn't even check ids she turned us away because she was being rude. The response was quick and was brushed off as I don't feel comfortable checking your IDs like be honest you're just lazy, it wasn't busy either. If you don't want to serve 4 more people be honest and don't be rude. read more

Love the theme of this bar. The rooms are very cool and the drinks are pretty good. Wish they didn't put straws in the drinks unless we asked for one. It is a little loud, and can be hard to find seats especially for a large group of people. Definitely a good option for the college kids, but we are 25 and felt a little old. read more

What a sweet place! I loved the atmosphere--I mean constellations and all. Lindsey is a delight. Loved the cocktails. I even actually won a game of pool! Nice place and probably new favorite haunt for me to be an irregular regular. read more

This is a pretty cool new (space) themed bar in Bellingham downtown. We checked out the smaller of the two rooms which was covered in constellations and a fair bit darker. The atmosphere seemed pretty nice and the volume wasn't too loud either (like a handful of other bars in Bellingham). The downside was that it was not a very big place so you if you have a group, it is sometimes hard to find seating and even places to stand. read more

Terrible service. Never go here. Brought my Nevada non-real ID and they refused to serve me since it didn't have the little star on it for "real ID" purposes. Tried explaining what a real ID was but the lady at the bar wasn't educated enough to understand what a "real ID" was even after researching herself. The interior also looks nothing like the photos online and the bathroom was a wreck. Don't waste your time. Wish I could leave less than one star. read more

I'm genuinely so excited that the Orion has made it through Covid! Please go and support this awesome awesome bar! The Orion has been such a staple for nights out on the town, they have awesome drinks, my personal favorite is the black hole! They have fun pool, indoor seating, and space themed Decour and drinks. Don't forget to stop here if it's your birthday and you'll get to where the space helmet! read more

Used to live down the street from this place and sad that they are no longer walking distance! This is one of the most comfortable bars in town in my opinion. The atmosphere is very inviting and not at all intimidating. The owner is often working and has put so much detail into his bar. The food is also good for the price. It's great bar food and they also have snacks for pretty cheap as well. read more

I had such a pleasant experience here! Stopped in on a whim while we were in Bellingham for a night and am so glad we did. The bartender was super nice and made great drink recommendations. Blown away by the value as well--I challenge you to find better specialty drinks for $6 ($5 during happy hour!) anywhere downtown. The decor is also very fun and I bet it looks amazing at night. Can't think of a single thing I didn't like, but I'll have to check out the snacks next time we're in town. Thank you for this great addition to the Bellingham bar scene! read more

Good drinks good prices good food only open till 10 now because of COVID but still awesome!

Relaxed groovy atmosphere with several rooms each with its own flavor. Want to play pool? They've got it. Want a quiet place to have great conversation? They've got that too. Nice list of cocktails with bar mix or gourmet hot dogs to munch while enjoying the place. read more

I came for the hotdogs, and was semi-disappointed. I learned through insider information that they are boiled, which was a bummer. It tasted just like a costco dog as well. The drink menu was good though; they have cheap canned beer, and they serve Olde English 800 tall cans which is a HUGE PLUS. read more

My favorite bar in Bellingham. Taking off one star because I feel like there should be more cocktail selections on the menu, but my go to is always the Gamma Ray, and the Old Fashioneds the beard dude makes are incredible. I am in love with the space theme of the bar, and they could really use some die cast models of rockets and other space ships, science fiction or reality. Keep on being fucking awesome, Bham read more

I dont know if this would be a compliment to all readers but this place totally reminds me of my favorite var in Portland. When I feel homesick this is a great place to meet with friends for a beer with good music and unbeatable space. read more

I would rate this place a perfect 5 for atmosphere, however drink quality is lacking, which to me is the most important thing at a bar. My girlfriend and I came here and had four or five signature cocktails and were barely buzzed. Thought maybe it was a new bartender and came back another time and we met the owner, and still got really weak excuses for drinks. One drink at a Chinese or Mexican restaurant will get you 4x more lit than 5-6 from this place, I guarantee that. If you come here for the atmosphere, stick to canned or bottled drinks, or just straight up shots. read more

Dig this place. Tasty beers, board games, cheap pool and they play The Growlers a lot so I mostly stay for the rad music.

Really nice local bar with good service and a cool atmosphere. Pretty good drink selection as well. Really, it's a five-star place, and the only negative seems to be a severe lack of parking as it's downtown, so it's conceivable that could put a damper on some people's experience there. Otherwise: awesome. read more

Love this new addition to Bellingham's downtown! The interior is beautiful. Murals decorate just about every wall and the constellation room is amazing. Lots of ambience, great music and super friendly service. Highly recommended! read more
