We had visitors who wanted to do a 1.5 hour sunset cruise! Around $67 per person with taxes and fee. We did an early check in at 5pm and met them outside of Duke's restaurant. You can't miss it, it's the big red/yellow catamaran on the shore. By 5:30pm we set to sail! All Drinks were complimentary on this cruise, which is a good deal! There was beer, wine, soft drinks, Mai tais, and mixed cocktails available. You will need to walk into the sand/water to climb aboard. Time it with the waves so you don't get too wet! First thing on the boat - You will be taking off your shoes and putting it away until the end of the boat ride and then find a seat, grab drinks, and enjoy the ride! I recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, Dramamine (non-drowsy), and water shoes! The crew was very friendly and nice. This is was first time I got nauseous at sea, so I recommend sitting on the SIDE of the boat and drinking less. The middle of the boat is very rocky and will make you feel worse. Our Sunset 1.5 Hour Sail was Magnificent! We boarded just steps in front of Duke's in Waikiki Beach. The crew was very informative and took care of us throughout the whole sailing. It was an open bar with selections of drinks and beers and sodas. Views from a distant length was spectacular showcasing Diamond Head and the skyline of Waikiki. Our first trip to Hawaii and we had no idea what to see, what to expect. We walked to the beach behind our hotel and there was the Na Hoku 3 calling our name. With no reservation we easily signed up for the Diamond Head Sail and were helped aboard the boat. The entire experience was wonderful, starting with our hosts, Jerry and Mahala, the beautiful weather, the view of the south shore of Oahu, Waikiki Beach, and Diamond Head, the free drinks, and loved the great selection of music. I wanted to leave more stars but just couldn't. We've gone on several sunset catamaran cruises on other boats and this was our least favorite. On the plus side the staff was very friendly and courteous. On the negative side, this particular cruise seemed to attract people who wanted to get drunk and stagger around to the sound of extremely loud dance music. I have no problem at all with people partying, but that wasn't the experience we were looking for on our last night in Waikiki. It was clear from talking to several other couples that we weren't the only ones who felt that way. Perhaps a solution might be for some cruises to be designated for hosting loud music and dancing, while others could be designated as quieter cruises for people who want to enjoy beautiful scenery along with some Hawaiian music. It would hard to enjoy a boat ride where unlimited booze is offered. Na Hoku offers a short sail in the bay and the price is relatively reasonable provided you drink up. The Diamond Head Happy Hour Sail was an amazing experience! We came across this sail on TikTok and let me say, it was totally worth the hype. The reservation process was so seamless and the check in flow was so smooth. Alex (or Alec sorry) was a great host! His intro was very entertaining and his crew was just as great. The bartender Stevie from Ohio was extraordinarily friendly and attentive. They served your drinks to your spot on the boat and consistently check in with you. Did I mention this was an open bar? This sunset catamaran cruise is a must! Totally worth the extra money (compared to happy hour cruise) to see the glorious colors of sunset and the Honolulu coastline lit up by the city lights in twilight. Their route took us across Diamond Head to where we could see beautiful Maunalua Bay before turning back. Their mixed mai tais were too sweet for us to keep downing (open bar), so we switched to their beers. They also had a few other basic mixers and alcohols to concoct standard drinks. The staff is friendly (great vibes!) and played chill reggae jams with some throwbacks on our way back in. We weren't lucky enough to get a whale or turtle sighting, but they do happen on occasion! I came here with a few visiting friends for a COVID safe activity. The boat had plenty of space and breathing room for groups to sequester off into their areas. Lots of fresh air and wind. After the boat gets started, you're allowed to sit almost anywhere on the boat (including the roof!) for stunning views. Bring a light jacket for when the sun goes down :) Check in is out on the beach at the catamaran. read more

Great fun, highlight of our short Honolulu stay. Definitely worth the fair price. The only advice is making sure your in line for the right boat as there are two. We got there early and found out we were in wrong line so then we ended up getting on the right boat last, not having any actual seats left. We had to sit up front in kind of a make shift area but the weather was warm thankfully because we really got splashed but it felt great and obviously had unobstructed views that were glorious. Staff friendly and they kept the Mai Tai's flowing. We had a wedding party on with us but that was fine. Everyone mingling. Must c got loud but the guy in charge asked us if it was too loud and we said it was totally fine. It was like 2-3 hrs. Didn't want it to end but our bottoms were getting a bit sore. This business has absolutely no knowledge nor any respect for maritime law. The captain, even after being warned of the right of way, nearly ran over my teammates in a self powered 6-woman outrigger canoe today. Because of his stupid arrogance and incompetence, he could have caused serious injury even death to my teammates. Not only was the captain aware of the situation that could have been avoided with early intervention, he started yelling profanities at both us (the support crew) and the canoe, and told the paddlers in the canoe that he "will run them over" while also verbally abusing them. We knew that we had the right of way seeing as the business tried to apologize at a later time. Ocean life, therefore ocean safety/etiquette, is crucial in Hawai'i, and this business disrespected all of it to the highest degree. I write this review to encourage people from our community and incoming tourist to not book and support this business. Never have I experienced another watercraft that would deliberately put others in harm's way for the enjoyment of others. I doubt the captain cared or even knew of the seriousness of the situation, but to watch my teammates almost be crushed by a vessel 3-4x the size of their own craft was terrifying. As a local I will NEVER support this business and will encourage my community to know the blatant disrespect, unprofessional manner, and carelessness of life this business's captain showed. This is for sure a bang for your buck. We were scheduled for a 4 pm cruise. We had to meet at the pier due to rough conditions at Waikiki beach. That wasn't an issue for us though. We started to board the boat and was greeted by the crew. Captain JJ and the crew were great host. Good music, good drinks and good vibes only. The people we were with were also lit and everyone had a great time. Views are nice at every angle. Lots of space on the boat and most places are fair game. There is also a splash net in the front of the boat if you wanna have a chance to get wet. Bring sunscreen and good vibes and you'll have a good time. Did I mention it was only $40? FUN!!! Book this cruise today!! We did the 1.5 hour sunset cruise and it was perfect!! It was myself and my 16 and 17 year old sons. The crew was fantastic and ensured everybody was having a good time (including them!). The music was awesome as were the drinks (which are included with your ticket price). We were able to get about 5-6 miles off the coast. Everybody was having a blast and the views from out in the water were breathtaking. While it's a sunset booze cruise- it's totally fine for families with tweens/teens. The music sets a party vibe which all enjoyed. It was so fun!
