Ensuring everyone had a great time, they also gave information on safety so that we can enjoy the adventurous activities without any hiccups I know how to swim but I chose to use the floating vests to preserve some energy because it does take a lot of physicality from you - pro tip: BRING WATER (with liquid IV if you like it) they provide snacks, tea/water, two clean restrooms and a fresh water shower on the front deck to rinse off the salt water which is nice bonus The best activity is the slide - DO NOT PASS ON IT you just might regret it The jump from the second level is also great !!! The only downside is the popularity of this local snorkel, with many optional fun add ons, is the number of people on board. I was with a family with kids from the mainland and our goal was to grab seating on the forward deck outside for the best Capt view during our cruise. My awesome wife also staked out a seat inside the cabin where the snack bar & restrooms are, to stash our beach bag & lunch cooler filled with our own beverages. Note: They have water and instant iced lemon tea with cups available. Also sweet & salty snack bars for all inside the main covered cabin. I enjoyed the boat ride! We were not disappointed with several distant but exciting whale blows, surfacing & whale tail waves along the way. The view of Wikiki and Diamond head was worth my price of admission. BEWARE do not book any sunset whale watching with this company. It's a total scam. I purchased through a Groupon listing advertising 2 hours of sunset whale watching. When I booked my reservation, the email said it was a FIREWORKS boat ride. I was obviously confused so I called them directly and they said it's the same thing. It was definitely NOT the same thing but I didn't realize this until I was already stuck on the boat. They told us to show up at 5 pm and that we'd be boarding at 5:30. We didn't board until close to 6 pm and the boat didn't leave until 6:30 pm. What a waste of time already. That's a whole hour of sunset time gone for no reason. When the boat started to leave, the captain said we'd be watching fireworks and would MAYBE see some whales. He didn't take us to any whale watching spot at all. He just took us directly to the fireworks watching spot, which btw didn't start until 7:45 pm. He anchored the boat around 6:45 pm and said we would stay here until the fireworks started. I was incredibly upset because instead of looking for whales, we all just sat there waiting for the fireworks to begin, which btw I did not find out until I googled it that the show itself is only 10 min long. We paid $50+ for that?! Not to mention it was super rainy that day, so that entire hour we waited for the fireworks, it was literally pouring down on us. The crew said they weren't sure if the fireworks show was still continuing and were "constantly" checking to see if it was. This was a total lie because they were literally just partying the entire time. So not only was it raining hard, the crew was blasting loud obnoxious music the entire time. The passengers were families there were even 2 babies. Yet they continued to party for the entire hour, never checking to see if the show would continue. The captain never offered to take us back either. The final cherry on top was that there was no fireworks at all. So at 7:50 pm they finally turned the boat around and headed back. They said they were offering a free charter the next morning for whale watching or any other activity, but that's not even an offer at all. I had a flight the next morning so there was no way I could make it. I emailed them requesting a refund due to the LOW effort accommodation and I haven't received a response so here I am. The only negative i had was there was 16 of us and to get us all on the boat one of us made reservations and paid for us all ( yes we all paid her back) Near the end of the trip there was a poster if you make a 10 second video and tag them you get a free meal at some food truck. We all did it and because it was just one party on reservation only a few of us got free meal. if we would of paid individually we would of all got free meals but because we did group we didnt. If you're looking for an actual turtle snorkeling experience, keep looking. If you want a water park experience, here it is. I purchased a 5 in 1 deluxe "Turtle Snorkeling Tour". What it turned out to be was 93 people on a boat that went out a little ways, anchored and put out water toys for an hour and a half. Much of the time there was a free for all at the back of the boat to get in and out of the water. There were groups from multiple price packages on the same tour, and it was on the honor system that you stuck to what you paid for. I'm sure you can guess how that worked. The crew asked for tips on the way in. Put a tip jar out, of course, but asking for tips and saying $20 would be great is just tacky. Of my week in O'ahu, this was the worst experience I had as far as misleading description and service provided. I won't be booking with this company next trip. read more

The two boat rides were awesome. No whales the first time so we got to go again for around 7.00. No whales again, but we saw some dolphins. You cant control nature. Me and my family booked a tour to see turtles but the day of our tour, it was rainy and the ocean was very choppy. On our way out of the lagoon, we did spot a turtle but once we reached the open seas the boat ride became very bumpy. The crew were very friendly and we were provided with all the ocean gear to keep us safe and to see under water. Due to the water being so choppy the visibility of the ocean floor was very faint. We did not get to see any turtles or fishes. We did enjoy the views of the city from the boat. Yay! We saw whales! I was able to book a day ahead for the 8am tour. $35/per person included the $7 harbor fee. The catamaran was nice and spacious. It holds up to 129 passengers, but we lucked out a week before spring break and there were less than 30 on our trip. I made my own rockstar seating area at the front. Our 90 minute tour yielded a couple turtle sightings and a handful of humpback whales spouting and seeing their flukes as they dove. Such elegance for a creature that can reach over 600 feet long! I had a unpleasant experience from the get go trying to book this whale watching cruise. Groupon has a great deal but then their website doesn't give you any directions as to how to book using the voucher. I emailed them but got no response after a few days so I called them and got a VERY brash dude answering and took my reservation in such a rude, short attitude I almost said forget it. The actual boat dock does NOT have a big enough sign that says E Sea Divers. It's actually under big Whale Watching Cruise sign. If it hasn't been for my friend who was already on the boat, I would have not found it. The cruise started with the standard safety briefing but there were no other talking. Unfortunately we only saw a few spouting which they have no control but I've been to MUCH better cruise where the crew talks and educates people with history, eco system, etc. Nothing. THEN the kicker was only at the end the crew talked about tips and their crew's daughter(?) who was given us sideway looks the whole cruise suddenly with a charming voice asking for tips on our way out. I was so disgusted. They must've thought we were just another tourist but dudes, you've GOT TO take better care of kama'aina!! It was a sad trip and I will NEVER go back to them again. They took us to a horrible spot & mixed us with people doing slide activities & water sport activities they provide when we paid to be separated from that. Our Captain was really cool but he drove really fast heading out to sea. It was really windy dnd the water was extremely choppy. Quite a few people got sea sick. I'm surely glad that I took my Dramamine before boarding. We had a difficult time finding whales. When they did come around it was in a far off distance. We were able to see a fin and a tail. We took advantage of a great deal on Groupon to go on a 2+ hour whale watching ride and it was really worth it despite not seeing any whales that day. It was so enjoyable just being out on the water and looking at Honolulu and surrounding areas from a different angle. There is also lots of water and sky activity to watch as well, from surfers, boaters, ships and plane traffic. Great 360 views on their boat. The boat is of decent size and not a small recreational boat, but if the waves are choppy, the ride can be a bit bumpy, but that just adds to the fun of the adventure. There are open areas as well as covered, but if you need to hide from the sun and sea mist, there is roomy inside cabin with big windows that you can still enjoy the view from. Now, you can't control nature and like I said earlier, we didn't see any whales, but there is possibilities of seeing other sea life like turtles and flying fish which I have seen before on this ride some years ago. Don't go with the expectation of seeing a whale, just go to enjoy the ride, views, fresh are and if your lucky, you'll see a whale or two. read more

I had so much fun from yesterday's adventure with E Sea Diver. The crew are friendly and informative. Please make sure to tip them after. If you are a first time snorkeler, they have all the goods and will teach you the basic. You can only go as far as 100-m from their boat. The have SUP, Kayaks that you can use, but 100m will not get you any further. (I guess it's more for your instagram post) . The trampoline and the slides are super cool but we had most fun just jumping on their upper deck (it's only 15 feet high to the water so jumping wasn't scary). We snorkeled and bough our fins and our own mask. (they have massive supplies). We saw dolphins and a lot of this black fish (i forgot what it's called). Anyway, they have lemonade, and peanut butter bars. A lot of the people got seasick so please take your dramamine/zofran before going to really enjoy the trip. 3 hours is not that long. We mostly spent our hours snorkeling and trying to get that perfect diamond view in the backyard. One really cons is booking. I think I called about 3-4x before I was able to book my groupon. And whoever is on the other end just take your phone number and how many person and will tell you, meet up 8:30am at the Kewalo Harbor then hangs up. No email confirmation, no reminder text, nothing.. so we went there at 8:20am not confident if we really have our booking. Don't forget your $7 harbor fee. I would give E Sea Diver a full 5/5 stars if it wasn't for the very first interaction we had when checking in. My husband purchased a Groupon for us, and with some initial confusion on where to go to check-in, we eventually arrived. The gentleman working the counter was EXTREMELY rude, very short, and barely talked one shot above a whisper unless we asked him to repeat himself. Having read a few other reviews just now, I'm pretty sure others have had the experience. He asked if we ONLY wanted to snorkel (which is what we bought the Groupon for), and while I didn't fully hear that part of the conversation between him and my husband, I'd heard enough in the 5 min conversation to be instantly turned off. Not sure if we'd be charged extra or not, we settled for just snorkeling. I can't say enough though about how great the crew onboard was though. Nacho and Matte both gave amazing demonstrations about what to expect, with a little humor sprinkled in. They were very interactive with their customers, and even gave us some sushi recommendations to try while we were in town. Unfortunately, my personal experience with snorkeling wasn't the best. I had a reallyyy hard time with not being able to breathe through my nose, even with the really considerate warning they gave on the boat. I can't stress enough that deep breaths are important, and if you're not a bomb-proof swimmer, go for the life vest or the waist strap they offer to give you a little extra reassurance. My husband on the other hand was a natural! I was, however, able to take the information we got from Matte and Nacho and use it on our second snorkel excursion to have a much better and relaxed time - my husband almost couldn't get me out of the water, and got back on the boat before I did! I felt reassured that the crew had our backs with safety as the ultimate goal, and even if I couldn't fully enjoy myself in the water, still got to float around and hang out with my hubby. We were bad about not having any cash on our trip, so even though we weren't able to tip, I'd have no problem recommending them to anyone trying to decide between the 100s of options Oahu has to offer.
