As a new and first time homeowner, all of the great reviews for N&D made them my first call when looking for a home security system. Perry and his team were amazing throughout the entire process from being extremely responsive, thorough in explaining our options, and going above and beyond during the installation process. I'm happy to partner with N&D and highly recommend them. read more

I continue to be impressed with how quickly Perry responds to my questions over email. I wish there was more stuff we could hire them for

N&D Security was a pleasure to work with and did five-star work installing a home security and video monitoring system in our home this past weekend. Outstanding communication, planning, and execution throughout the process. On the day of install, a four-person team of very personable and professional gentlemen arrived precisely on time and worked diligently to complete the install ahead of schedule. Their finished product is incredible and clearly reflective of their expertise and experience in the industry. We strongly recommend N&D and hope to business with them again in the future. read more

I've been a customer of N&D Security for a year now, and couldn't be more pleased. From initial consultation, to installation, and billing, Perry & team are knowledgeable, transparent, and customer focused. About 6 months into my service contract, the control panel started malfunctioning. Perry responded to me immediately. Within 24 hours, they had swapped out the control panel with a brand new one -- free of charge! I put a high premium on customer service and quality products, especially when it comes to the security/safety of my property and family. N&D has exceeded my expectations. read more

I cannot recommend N&D Security highly enough. By far the most hands-on and responsive company I encountered when looking for a new security system in Dec 2017. We needed something installed quickly before we left for the holidays and Perry was able to make it happen for us within two days. His tech was professional and install went without a hitch. But the most impressive thing about this company is the level of customer care they give. We have emailed Perry a handful of times with questions (such as we forgot our alarm cancel pin or we needed instructions on how to operate our partitioned system for our basement apartment) and Perry writes back so swiftly and so helpfully, even in the evening and on weekends. You can't beat this customer care. And I doubt you will find it at some of the bigger box operations. In short - use N&D. You won't regret it. read more

After shopping around for a few weeks, we decided to use N&D Security. Our installer arrived on time. He was friendly and professional. We are very happy with our system and their response time to questions. read more

N&D was great. They were quick, professional and very upright. The manager misquoted me a lower price than what the install should have been. He then said that he would hold to his lower misquote even though he should have charged me a higher price. This kind of customer service is rare. They came recommended to me and now I recommend them to you. read more

From my initial contact with Perry to final installation, it was nothing but a pleasure working with N&D. Perry's responsiveness to emails deserves special mention, as he would typically respond within a matter of hours, even during the weekend. N&D's pricing was also more competitive than other national companies as well as the local company that had pre-wired our new home. We are very pleased with the results! read more

I was looking into options outside of big national providers and came across N&D and I'm glad that I did! N&D is hungry to win new business and Perry and his team have been exceptional each step of the way from discussing service offerings to the installation and addressing all follow up questions that I had. We're paying a fair price for the coverage I wanted (with no contract) and working with a small (and local) company makes things much easier. read more

I was looking for security monitoring company that really cares about their customers. I shop around and talked to several companies. Among all of them N&D was the one who really cares about customers needs. Perry was really helpful and kind. Even though I had a lot of questions, he explained everything patiently. Technician who install the panel, he was great also. All of N&D's employees must be great. Thank you. read more

I definitely recommend N&D. I priced out a few different companies, and they provided the best package. The owner walked my property and gave me a few different options based on my security needs. The install went smoothly and pretty quickly (took a few hours). We've only been using the system for about a month, but no problems so far. read more

Quick response, attention to detail, fair pricing, professional and friendly service. My experience with N and D has been top notch. I am very satisfied with our relationship thus far and see no reason that will change. They upgraded an existing alarm system in my house, did a thorough check of my existing equipment with no hard sell to buy things I did not need, and connected me to their monitoring system. When I called yesterday to report that i was getting a low battery indicator on my control panel, one of their guys was at my door in 30 minutes - problem replaced and solved in 5 minutes. That's service. It's clear this company and the owners take pride in their work and care a great deal about their customers. No reason to look elsewhere. read more

I contacted N&D after ADT was a no-show again for a scheduled appointment. As other reviewers have said, Perry responded quickly. We traded texts and photos about our current system and N&D was able to take over most hardware. Scheduling the install proved to be simple too. The technician was knowledgeable, on time, and answered all of my questions. Plus, making the switch has reduced our monthly monitoring fee substantially. I'd definitely recommend N&D to anyone looking for better, personalized NoVA-based service. read more

Just got the system installed, but so far has been a great experience. Everyone at N&D has been friendly and great to work with; very responsive and helpful. Got the install scheduled and done very fast. Install went very smoothly, and the team took some extra time to help me think through some unrelated wiring issues, which I definitely appreciated. They seem to know a lot about old houses and went well beyond the scope of the work to be helpful. Nothing but positive things to say so far. Would definitely recommend. read more

This is my first yelp review, Perry and his crew at N&D have more than earned it.. We did a lot of research before selecting an alarm company to protect our new home and family. We knew we wanted a smaller company--the large companies with vague pricing contracts and tens of thousands of other customers did not appeal to us. We narrowed the field and met with several local providers to get proposals and hear their pitches. This is where N&D began to differentiate themselves. N&D is a small operation with a family feel, but there is no doubt they are experts in the field and utilize top of the line equipment. Perry and his crew were honest, straightforward and responsive from the beginning. I can't say from start to finish, because our relationship is far from finished. I still contact Perry when I have questions and plan to be in touch when we require modifications to the system. From day one Perry has been a delight to deal with, and I look forward to continuing to work with him in the future. Perry scheduled the install around our requirements, and when install day came his crew had no problem substantiating the high expectations I had set for them. They did meticulous work despite the house being 100+ years old and difficult to work with. They listened to our concerns, and addressed everything in a smart, professional, efficient, and even personal manner. If you want an honest security company that cares about you as a customer and knows you as THEIR customer, N&D should be your choice. read more

Most reasonably priced and highest quality of service. They were excellent to work with during my install and have provided amazing customer service since. I have been using them for the past 4 years. They pick up the phone and go the extra mile in helping me with all my needs. read more

I chose N&D because of all of the great reviews they have on Yelp, and I'm very glad I did! Their customer service is superb--all of the staff are extremely polite and responsive and clearly care about each of their clients. I am giving four stars only because I faced a number of problems with getting my alarm system installed properly at the beginning, but to their credit, N&D was very proactive about sending staff out to trouble shoot the issues as quickly as possible. They offer a level of personal service and customer care that you would never find from a large alarm company. read more

N and D Security has lived up to my expectations. They are very accessible and respond quickly. I have no regrets for choosing them.

N&D Security provided 5-star service. We moved into a newly built home and needed to plan/design and install a security system. Perry was easy to deal with during the design phase, and the quote came in as very reasonable. The installation process was timely and went smoothly, and the workmanship was of high quality and not very invasive to the look of the new home interior. The post-installation system set-up and follow-up was very professional and N&D overall was a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend N&D. read more

LOOK NO FURTHER!!!! This is the security company you want for all of your security needs!!! I found them via my trusty YELP app and based on all of the reviews about them, choosing them was easy!!! Darren arrived yesterday just for a consultation. I had already had an alarm system in place so I just needed to have a what is described as a "takeover." Just the day before, another alarm company stopped by and I was told I would have to pay for a new alarm panel because the one I have installed could not be used! So, convinced I needed to shop around for a better price, I contacted N&D. Well, Darren stopped in an in less than 5 minutes he was able to determine WHY the OTHER company could not use my system and as it turns out, it was a VERY VERY SIMPLE reason. That immediately sold me on Darren's experience and knowledge! Because of that, I was able to get my security system up and running within minutes and for FAR LESS money than the OTHER company!! It was a great and fulfilling experience overall!! Darren was A SUPER NICE guy and as stated, very knowledgeable. Moreover, he's very friendly, approachable, very informative, very patient and did I say super nice!! I have NEVER wanted to pay someone and want to ask them to stay for dinner at the same time!! At the end of this service call, I felt like I have known him for a while! At the time of this writing, I have not had the chance to speak with Perry. However, if he is anything like the reviews said, I look forward to it!! I'm so glad I found this company and I'm MORE THAN CONFIDENT that you will be too!! CHOOSE N&D!!! read more

We were referred to N & D Security by a friend in DC and after one year in our new home we are happy to report that we will be continuing to keep working with this security system company. N & D is responsive, reasonably priced and we find the system effective and easy to use. Highly recommended. read more

N&D Security installed a security system in two of our properties. The keypad is "state of the art" and very easy to understand. I have downloaded the app and it is also very easy to use to arm and disarm remotely. Everyone I talked to, Perry, Andy, and Darren were so helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We could not be happier. We would highly recommend this company! read more

Highly recommended. I shopped around other well-rated alarm companies and N & D provided the most competitive price. Also worked with them on a technical issue regarding my existing alarm systems at investment properties I own. Perry and Toby asked the right questions and provided technical advice off the cuff, to help me save money and streamline my existing installations. I ended up hiring N & D to install both the security system in my new residence and modify my investment property systems. Installation was quick and painless, Toby and his team are competent and friendly. Can't go wrong with them. read more

After searching online I found N&D Security had great reviews, so I contacted them via their website. Perry responded almost instantly, on a weekend! We exchanged a few emails and they came out just 3 days later. I didn't even need a walk-through which I was worried about because of my work schedule. Could not be happier with the process, I will use them as long as I am in the DC area. read more

We had some security concerns and I called around to several places. Everyone at N & D was immediately responsible and informative. I was given an accurate estimate within hours and was able to request some additional security measures. I was tempted to go with a bigger company, but the personal service you get with a knowledgeable, local company can't be beat. I recommend N & D without hesitation. read more

I recently purchased a home in DC and wanted to get a security system where I wasn't just a number (a la ADT). I searched the internet and ran into N&D. Best decision ever! I tend to work late in the evening. Apparently, I'm not alone. Perry was awesome enough to exchange a number of emails late on a Friday evening. A few days later we had a walk through and I knew I had found my partners in securing my home. Today was my install, and Andrew just increased my love of working with N&D. He was timely, helpful, and even gave some interior decorating advice (what don't they do?!). I received a walk through of my system and we even set everything up on my phone. I feel much better now that I've joined the N&D family. read more

We recently just purchased our first home and one of the top priorities was to purchase a reliable home security system to protect my family. I initially requested a quote from ADT because that's the brand name everyone is familiar with - then I realized ADT subcontracts random third parties to do the installation and provide the service. The third party that reached out to me, according to Yelp, was so bad people were looking to give them negative stars. By chance I came across N&D and began to read all the positive reviews on Yelp. I reached out and got an immediate response from Perry with a rough estimate of costs and to schedule one of his technicians to come for a free estimate eval and same day installation, if we chose to go with them. Andy, the technician, came and was great in quickly evaluating our needs and doing the install without any issues. He patiently answered all my questions and made sure I was 100% comfortable with our new system before he left. The main thing I really appreciate about N&D is that it's a small, family owned and operated business. And they treat their customers as an extension of their family with the five star customer service they provide - case in point, I've probably sent Perry too many emails than I can count, and he's responded back to me right away each time to make sure I was all set. I wouldn't want anyone else protecting my family and house. read more

The folks at N&D are awesome -- helpful, knowledgeable, affordable and downright good people. They've been a pleasure to work with, from install to servicing. I highly recommend them. read more

We partnered with N&D Security in late spring when we bought our house in NW DC. The whole team at N&D could not have been nicer or more prompt in their responses to initial questions and the actual installation. They worked with our existing equipment where possible to help us minimize expenses and laid out options and recommendations based on our needs and questions. In the months after the install (and as we got used to the system), we had a couple of follow-up needs/questions and each time we got a response seemingly within minutes (even after hours!) to our rather routine questions. The team worked to make sure any glitches were resolved, that we knew how to operate our system correctly and knew how to get ahold of the team if/when we needed them further. Overall, we've got a great system installed that keeps our house secure and we feel further reassured by having the team at N&D behind us (and it). I highly recommend them for your security needs! read more

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to make sure that I give the company a great review. The N&D team came out promptly and did s thorough walk through of our house looking for entry points or areas of concern. They explained different types of systems to us, what some of the pros and cons were on each type of system and made some recommendations. They also integrated our existing fire alarms and added carbon monoxide detectors. We were and continue to be happy with our decision to use N&D for our installation and security monitoring. read more

Perry and his crew are experts at what they do and provide outstanding customer service. When I began my search for a new alarm company, I was looking for a local business that I could count on. I talked at length with Perry to discuss the upgrades I wanted to my existing system and hear his recommendations. Perry is extremely friendly and has been a pleasure to deal with. He answers all questions in a very detailed manner and is very quick to reply by email. When he talks to you on the phone, he is patient and you don't feel rushed. He never tried to sell me items I didn't need and his pricing was extremely fair. The installation was smooth and we are very pleased with how everything turned out. It's clear that Perry and the N&D team like what they do and really care about their customers. I wish I had hired N&D when we first moved into our house! read more

I have worked with N & D security for years and have only the highest praise for their personalized service and helpfulness. No matter who I have talked to, the person on the other end has been professional and helpful. Over the years, they have helped with troubleshooting, false alarms, etc. They are ready to answer any question I might have with patience. I would highly recommend Perry and all of his staff at N&D. N&D is a family owned and operated business and they treat their customers just like you're one of the family. They are kind, knowledgeable, and highly professional. The installation took very little time and yet it's a very impressive system. I should add as well that the cost of the equipment , the installation, and the monthly monitoring is also quite reasonable. read more

We highly recommend N&D Security. A family run business that is professional, knowledgeable, affordable, and excels at customer service. Unlike larger security companies, you can actually reach a person when you need help, or a question answered - calls are answered and emails are returned. Installation was simple and on time; the price is fair and more than beats the competition. You will never feel like you have been oversold or manipulated. The star of the company is customer service - these folks care about the job they do, and make it their business to be sure you are happy, safe, and satisfied with the system. Highly recommend. read more

It was an absolute pleasure to work with Perry and his staff at N & D Security. We asked Perry to come over to review our needs in person and he was glad to do so. He was punctual, pleasant, and very professional. There was no high pressure pitch for unnecessary items. Perry was able to set up the installation appointment (one that was at our convenience) on the spot. Darren (installer) contacted us when he was on his way. Darren was also punctual, pleasant, and very professional. We discussed all options for location of various items. He was anxious to please us, as well as get us the best service. Darren was extremely patient when he showed us how the system worked, including working with the app on our phones/ipads. The price for the parts, installation, and central monitoring is reasonable. I can honestly say that having the system gives us peace of mind. We have full confidence in the system and the support that is available from N & D. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I highly recommend N&D Security. From the start, N&D was extremely responsive and fast acting. The process from quote to installation was smooth and reasonable. They were very helpful along the way and did not pressure us to do any more than we needed to do to receive the service we needed. The contract structure and price is among the most reasonable we found and their local focus is a welcome departure from large security companies who treat you like a number and try to lock you into a long term contract. read more

I've used the N&D guys since 2014. They have been wonderful! Call to trouble shoot; turn off accidental alarms; and alway send you new batteries. Recently either my fire alarm or CO alarm has been making high pitch noises. We went though trouble shoot and they even sent me new co alarm to test. But something was still making noises. N&D was cool and sent a technician to trouble shoot. He was very patient. We tested both fire alarm and co Alarm. It turned out to be the hard wired fire alarm and has nothing to do with N&D. The guys are still nice enough to come out and help with the install. Great customer Service! read more
