I've never had dinner here. However, I can tell you their breakfast is top notch. It's cheap, (usually) fast and huge portions. Lots of Benedict options, their corned beef hash is that canned stuff (which is my favorite), and they actually burn the crap out of your potatoes when you ask. No liquor; they do make Sake Mimosas though and have champagne for mimosas, poinsettias, etc. They open earlier than a lot of other local spots. read more

Absolutely my new favorite Greek restaurant in Buffalo. Their beef souvlaki is melt in your mouth tender and they prepare the eggs exactly to your specifications. Their tzatziki is some of the best I've had. I'm so happy I found them on Doordash. read more

It's pretty ridiculous that I have taken this long to write a review for Mythos. This is my favorite place for Greek cuisine and one of my favorite brunch spots. Service is sometimes spotty during the busy brunch hours but I'm willing to take my chances. Everyone is at least friendly; just seems sometimes they could use one more person on. The quality of the food has never disappointed and I have been here many, many times since moving to the city in the fall of 2010. Typically I come here for brunch. My long-standing favorite dish of the breakfast burrito covered in hollandaise sauce served with a side of Greek yogurt and fresh fruit with honey, was recently bumped to 2nd by the Souvlaki Breakfast which I highly recommend. The eggs Benedict have been good here as well. Enjoy a mimosa after 12 noon. Even better - when the weather is nice, enjoy that on the patio. read more

My family and I were trying to find something to do on Christmas Eve while a few other family members were working, so we decided to brunch at Mythos and then head to the escape room next door. We were very satisfied with our brunch at Mythos - not anything to write home about, but exactly what you're looking for with brunch at a Greek diner. The menu is very large with options for anyone, but we mostly stuck to brunch options. Dishes we got included chocolate chip pancakes, French toast, corned beef hash, steak and eggs, and some omelettes. Serving sizes were very generous, to the extent that we would've taken leftovers with us if we weren't going somewhere afterwards. Quality of the food was very decent, and the price was very fair. Service was excellent - waitress was sweet and attentive. Overall, perfectly served our purpose, and we would definitely return if we were in the neighborhood and looking for somewhere low key to eat! read more

This place is nothing special, and they do not serve breakfast all day. No falafel, which is always a disappointment as a vegan. I got the housemade veggie burger, which was just blah. Wasn't too busy which may not be the best sign- it's on a popular road in the city and we were there at dinner time. I got a gyro wrap and my friend got the gyro melt. He liked the sour dough bread a lot. We shared rice pudding and baklava for dessert, baklava was a bit above average and the pudding was pretty standard. Portion sizes were decent. Mythos is great! I live in the neighborhood so it is my usual breakfast/brunch spot when I am not in the mood for anything fancy. They offer everything you would expect from a Greek diner and then some. The brunch specials are quite good. I usually get one of the bennedicts or an omlette. I have eayen lunch and dinner there also and have not been disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive. Go early or late on Sundays to avoid the after church crowd. read more

Friend wanted fish fry, I do keto, this met in between. And was delicious! Service could have been better. But we were there for the food. The pancakes the little one got smelled delicious. His fish fry was large and crispy looking. He said it was good (so descriptive!). I savored the salmon with dill sauce and lots of vegetables. Fish was cooked to perfection and the dill sauce topping it was creamy and delectable. Not sure what the vegetables were in (butter, oil, a mix?). But they had the perfect crunch. My first experience at Mythos was a positive one. I was seated immediately and my waitress provided more that adequate customer service. I got the sirloin steak with a side of mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. The meal was very good and not overpriced. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and quiet. We come here for good souvlaki with reasonable prices. The service has always been decent, but I do hate those annoying pesky fruit flies everywhere. When that happens, I only think of one thing - they're not keeping the place clean enough. The lack of parking is definitely annoying, but that's kind of how it is anywhere on Elmwood. We have not had anything else from here other than their souvlaki, so I can't really speak for the rest of the menu. It's a mid-range priced restaurant with mid-range quality of food, good enough for everyday simple eats or a quick weekend brunch, but not anywhere I would bring guests to. Hopefully I can add another star or two in the future as I explore other items on their menu. read more

Came with fries that tasted like fries, nothing spectacular Chicken Bacon Panini: Paninis I do in fact buy a lot of, and this one was severely underwhelming. There wasn't nearly enough bacon, and while this could have been by design it really wasn't working out. I ordered a salad as a sub for the fries and they forgot to send it. My boyfriend and I frequent mythos once to twice a month for breakfast and are never disappointed. It's great Greek diner food. If you are looking for upscale brunch, look elsewhere. They are reasonably priced and usually the wait isn't long, if there even is one. My favorite breakfast is the chicken souvlaki plate. I recently got steak and eggs and it was just 'eh'. The breakfast burrito is also amazing (according to the bf) and the side of yogurt that comes with it is THE BEST. Not the parfait, just a bowl of yogurt with strawberries on top. I don't know what magical voodoo they put in it, but it's seriously the best Greek yogurt I've ever had. read more

I had a tasty Greek salad that has lots of fresh crunchy veggies.... but was a bit sparse on the feta. Went for brunch on Sunday and didn't have to wait for a seat for 2, even got a booth! The server was friendly and fast and helped us in deciding between 2 options. I had a veggie omelette (and added bacon ) and it was a big ole puppy , enough for 2 servings. And the homefries were exceptional! My last visit was 5 years ago, and I'm not sure why I waited so long to come back to Mythos for their great food. Came here with a large group of 9 and had made reservations few days before, however when some of us arrived ready to be seated we were informed another large group came in and they gave away our table! We were not happy about this since we had to wait an extra 30 minutes. I was ready to remove a star or 2 for this, but the food and service after this mishap made up for it. The owner came out and was very apologetic for the wait, and the waitress we had during the meal was super friendly and accommodating. We ordered up some apps to share, the bruschetta was different since it had warm mozzarella melted on the top, but worked well and was delicious. Honestly anything with melted cheese makes it amazing. Ordered the chicken souvlaki dinner with the home fries. Wow! I wasn't expecting it to be awesome, but it was. The chicken was cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth goodness! The tzatziki wasn't as thick as I would've liked, but tasted good nonetheless poured over the salad portion. The home fries were simply great, a little crispy and a lot savory. I guess you can order breakfast anytime here, since someone in our group ordered up some eggs and chocolate chip pancakes for dinner. Hey why not! The only reason I am giving two stars instead of one is because the food is good. However, the service I received today had me so taken a back that I had to discuss it. Let me start by saying that I don't want to tarnish a local business' reputation, and I live two minutes from this place and work right around the corner, I love my neighborhood and the businesses in it, but I plan to never come back. I work at Children's and one of our doctor's ordered take out. Since I had to run to the bank right across the street, I volunteered to pick it up. The doctor gave me her card and sent me on my way. I walk in, and the food was ready and waiting for me. I give the hostess (who I think is the owner) the card, and she swipes it and I sign, putting a dash where it asks for a tip. No big deal, right? Let me also state that when I do take out, I don't tip. I didn't think this was unusual? I always tip at a sit down or for delivery but in this case, I came, and I was going to walk it around the block back to the hospital. As I turn to walk out the woman, I kid you not says loud enough for me to hear, "Zero dollars, no tip? Real nice". Are you kidding?! I was about to turn around and say something but chose to take the high road. Let me also emphasize that this wasn't my money to spend on a tip even if I did want to tip her! It was the doctor's credit card and wasn't my place to give a tip for TAKE OUT. In short, I will no longer be giving Mythos my patronage and recommend that others don't either. read more

Okay, time to bust everybody's Greek bubble here. Took my out of town buddy here and the atmosphere and staff is nice so, I can't complain about that. What I WILL complain about is the prices. I ordered the Chicken Gyro and before the food comes out, I'm expecting a big fat gyro with all the fixings. Nope. My gyro was more of a small burrito maybe the size of a 5 year old's forearm. And while the flavor was good, I couldn't get over the fact that I paid nearly $9 for that sucker and a small bowl of soup. Seriously folks, I know our economy is in a recession here, but my stomach is not. I. WANT. FOOD! My friend was not too happy either. He ordered some sort of chicken salad which was basically iceberg lettuce and chicken. In the end, our bill came out to around $22 without tip and with only drinking water. We left and spent the rest of the day wondering what our stereotype Asian/Mexican parents would say knowing that we spent that kind of money on something we could have produced at ALDI's for a little more time and a little less money. BREAKFAST GETS 5 STARS. But dinner sucks... Bad service and the food wasn't to amazing either. For starters the soda was watered down. (They probably needed to change the tap) Ordered calamari as an appetizer great flavor.. But it was "rubbery" (over cooked) entree... A mushroom Swiss burger... Well done. And to my dissatisfaction the burger was burnt and dry... Oh and my girlfriend had Chicken Parmesan, her meal wasn't to bad. And the saddest part. On top of that.. The waitress didn't smile or introduce herself she was cold. But was friendly to the other table... And that's to bad because I'm an excellent tipper. Lesson learned. Came here after visiting the Buffalo zoo yesterday, we were happy to find that it was open on a Sunday, unlike a lot of other restaurants in the area. It's a cute little Greek place with a nice outdoor seating area. If you are craving souvlaki, you should definitely order the chicken and beef combo plate. It is the same price as the beef or chicken souvlaki and you get double the food. They gave me an extra plate of just beef. The beef was a little chewy but it was very well seasoned. You also get a greek salad and a form of potato with the plate. It was quite a large amount of food, and definitely worth the cost. The only thing that really bothered me about our experience was that they had the windows open the whole time. The windows pretty much take up the whole front wall, so you are almost sitting outside when you sit next to them. This would have been a wonderful experience on a warm day, but this was not the case the day we went. It was pretty chilly out and raining. The waitress sat us right next to the open wall, and we weren't able to close it because it was blocked by tables. I was freezing during the whole entire meal, and at one point when it got really windy I ended up getting pretty wet from the rain. It was completely ridiculous. When it starts pouring outside you should close the windows in your restaurant!!! read more
