We absolutely loved our time at Myriel. The tasting menu focused on extremely fresh and flavorful ingredients derived from Minnesota and local farms. The vision that Chef Karyn and team have achieved is truly remarkable. While the proteins were excellent our favorite dishes were more vegetable focused. The black radish with chive oil was sublime. As a palate cleanser the celery lemongrass shave ice was crazy fun and tasty. And with a pork chop the carrots with dill vinegar and butter were delicious. While the restaurant can get a bit loud it's small enough that you can easily talk with staff about any questions and they are always willing to talk more about a dish. A huge thank you to Chef Karyn and team for a great dinner!

New Year's Eve at Myriel? Yes please! Took a chance they had walk-ins available and the odds were on our favor. I'll never tire of this place. The food is so thoughtful, delicious and exquisitely prepared. Sitting at the bar never disappoints and their attention to detail is unmatched.

If Owamni and Travail had a baby, it would be Myriel. Farm to table, local foraged ingredients served in 12 courses.

Very small place that maximizes every element to make a cozy setting with Scandinavian vibes. Excellent service and interesting but small and carefully curated menu. The cocktails were new and innovative. We enjoyed a bit of everything from the menu, and especially loved the charcuterie, spaetzel, oyster mushrooms, small waffles with confit, the salad with root vegetables, and the parsnip soup. We tried all three main courses but especially liked the duck, and the lamb meatballs. The duck was exceptional- I can see why it is the one item always on the menu. Our favorite dessert was the merengue but the "pain perdu" bread pudding was also very fine.

Walking into Myriel feels like entering a close friend's home. The small space is cozy, the smells are inviting, and the front of house team is friendly and excited to tell you all about the menu. The menu changes frequently with the season and embodies the farm to table spirit, while still maintaining a clear point of view in the rustic French-inspired dishes. Two things that are always on the menu (and worth eating over and over again) are the duck confit and apple pie. Both are comforting, delicious, and prepared in a perfect yet approachable way. The dishes tend to be on the smaller side, so you are able to try a wide variety of items in a single meal. A fun surprise this Christmas season was the chef's take-home plum pudding. I'm excited to dig in later this week!

The food experience here is absolutely amazing. I loved every dish we had although the Cesar was a bit strong for my taste, my wife loved it and usually hates regular Cesar. We had several courses as most are small and easy to share. It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it imo. The service is phenomenal and very attentive and friendly. The setting and ambiance is cute and quaint. Probably my only small knock would be the size of the place. It's pretty tight seating and you will not have a ton of privacy from other couples and families.

Myriel is a tiny spot and you can tell everything is done super intentionally. They use all the parts so we had duck everything. Our fav was the swedish waffle topped with a bit of confit duck. I loved the gnocchi to - fluffy yet crisped.

Such a lovely spot! The restaurant focuses on using only local ingredients, and it really shows in the quality and flavor of the food. I loved the gnocchi and mushroom dish -- so comforting and full of depth. The vibe is cozy with a charming cottage feel, perfect for a date night. Service was excellent, and I really appreciate that the menu changes based on what's fresh and in season. Every dish feels wholesome and thoughtfully made. Definitely a new favorite!

This was an excellent dinner at of one of the many Minneapolis James Beard semifinalists - Karyn Tomlinson is well deserving of her nominee for Best Chef: Midwest. We ordered a LOT of food as well as indulging in a few cocktails. I think my favorite item was probably the gnocchi. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the menu but I don't think anything you order will disappoint. In addition to the gnocchi, the bread was also stellar and the apple pie for dessert was great as well (coming from a non-dessert person). They had a good selection of cocktails with some unique options. The service was also excellent, our server gave good recs and always popped up when we needed something but wasn't overbearing. Her attention to detail elevated the entire experience.

This place should win an award! Fine dining without the pretends. I heard that it's hard to get RSVP here. So try 5 pm when they first open or after 7 pm (tips from Lauren: amazing bartender +). We did and got 2 seats at the bar, front row! Please order cocktails, they are excellent, my favorite was "Hazel" until I tried the "Bishop" which is even better. They did NOT pre-mixed any drinks, all made there in front of you, takes sometimes but you can see the love! Although Mark (amazing bartender +) explained that some drinks are better pre-mixed that the flavor develop more (good point!) Lauren explained that this restaurant tried to get all ingredients within 100 miles. Also there's a tasting menu which is around 12 dishes with optional cocktails pairing (hmmmm....sounds like a future dinner!) FOODS! Order anything with mushrooms! They know how to work mushrooms! We had Tartine with Mushrooms, that alone is enough for a good dinner if you're not too hungry or curious. If it's the latter, then here's what we had: Early summer greens, pea pods and shoots, vili dressing $13 The veggie is fresh you can smell the earth (in good way). The dressing is creamy yet refreshing. Taste like spring Chilled shaved beef, allium mayonnaise, coriander, ramps $17 Looks like roast beef but flavor bomb! Get ready for it. Tartine - mushroom Smokey. Tangy. Creamy well balanced. It's a perfect bite every single bite. Austrian spaetzel, beurre blanc, dill $16 with poached egg $3 Homemade spaetzel, what more can you ask? Well I love egg so I have that added, note to self ask if runny egg next time so it can oozed out to the spaetzel (it was perfectly soft boiled egg) Pork belly, charred onion glaze, grilled mushroom, mizuna $28 Melt in your mouth. The mushroom is insane charcoal I would prefer some grain or rice with it, but it's just me. Little but sweet but the the smoke and the acid really balance everything out a la fin Mark recommends a liquor called "Carcavelos" that paired nicely with "sunflower seed ice cream, cocoa crisp, whey caramel $12 (Perfect combo-Thanks again Mark!) You're not done! you also get a "Kernza" cookie with your bill! Yeah I have to google "Kernza" too. The chef even come out and greet the customers what a humble place for such a nice dining experience.

they ended w a small little crispy sugar cookie. such a nice touch.

sat at the bar for a spontaneous dinner. super tasty plates but very small portions. still loved. they had a bar menu as well that was separate and looked good. would definitely come back.

This restaurant was recommended to me and it was the best place I've eaten in a long time. The service was impeccable. The food was exquisite. And the ambiance was just perfection. I am still fondly thinking of the good I ate months later. Every detail from the cutlery and dishes to the wine pairings were a complete delight. If you happen to get a reservation be prepared for a wonderful evening you won't soon forget.

I was excited to come experience a James Beard award chef. Highlights were the waffle with duck confit and black lentils with a dollop of curd. The bread was delish. The Parisienne gnocchi texture was soft and pillowy with a slight crisp. But the dish was so over salted we sent it back. Even on a second try we left the plate partially uneaten. The signature duck was ok. Slightly overcooked. Other dishes not memorable. My biggest disappointment was the service. Cocktails took too long to be delivered. Empty plates piled up with staff walking by not picking them up. Being someone in the industry I hate to leave a bad review but hope this feedback is helpful to the team. Maybe just an off night. Maybe expectations too high? Won't be on my rotation with other notable restaurants in the area.

It's a really cozy moody interior, with *no big lights* aka great low lighting and comfy seating options. When we went, there were just a few other parties there so pretty quiet. I liked that we had a whole corner to ourselves with a sectional couch of sorts and some chairs. They close at 10pm on a Friday night, which felt absurdly early for a cocktail bar. But, we were able to order and drink one drink during the ~45 minutes we had. They closed up shop promptly at 10pm. They had a classics and a "rumors" section of the menu. I didn't think the signature drinks were overly unique, with classics like Paper Plane making that menu side. I had a pomegranate mojito which was good! Consensus was that the cocktails were good not exceptional, especially for the $16-17 price point. We ordered churros for the table which were a table favorite! I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but we enjoyed our time and could see this being a good option if you lived in the neighborhood and don't mind the early close hours.

We had a wonderful meal here last night. As usual, we enjoyed a warm welcome and excellent service…read more(thanks, Makenna!) with the customary great food. For this meal, we were all especially pleased to see persimmon gracing the menu. This lovely winter fruit added bright color, texture, and flavor to the dishes that it was incorporated into (I highly recommend them). I had it in the second course, a lovely salad that also contained endive, pear, radish, pine nuts and a wonderful layer of creamy taleggio. It was unique and very delicious. For my third course, I ordered the masa dumplings, which I have had before. Spoiler: they were just as good this time. With a pleasing firm but tender texture, these wonderful little dumplings hit just right. The Calabrian chili in the sauce adds a pleasant rosy color and a bit of warmth without being spicy (it's totally safe for your most Minnesotan dining companions). As always, it was beautifully plated. For my next course, I ordered the toasted farro, which is delicious, hearty, and comforting. The chewy grains combine beautifully with the umami from the cheese and porcinis to make a wonderfully substantial flavor and feel. Underneath it all, a bright basil pistou adds a pop of color to remind you that even though it's winter, spring is just around the corner. This is just a perfect dish for a cold, dark winter night. For dessert, I tried something new: the cream cheese tart. I chose wisely: this was a lovely winter dessert that was somewhat reminiscent of cheesecake (but definitely better). It was just the right amount of richness and perfectly balanced by a delicious pear compote and a layer of balsamic vinaigrette. Absolutely perfect. As always, I appreciated the awesome selection of N/A beverages. (The paNOma? Still my favorite!)

One of the staff members noticed and kindly offered to show me around. Halfway through my mini tour, he told me that he was the one who did all the Christmas décor--and that he's been collecting these pieces over the last 15 years. I was really grateful for that experience. Honestly, the entire visit--from the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out--was top-notch. For food and drinks, I ordered a Moscow Mule, the Meatloaf Wellington, and the lobster with cauliflower cheese. It was my first time trying a Wellington, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but unfortunately it just wasn't for me. The lobster, however, was a definite hit--I ate every bit of it! The drink was very good as well. For sure each items is on the pricier end but given the service your definitely getting your money worth. I also noticed they play live jazz music too, so I'm definitely interested in coming back for some good quality music.

Enjoyed a warm spring evening on the rooftop of the Lexington (recently named in the top three…read morerooftops of the Twin Cities in Msp Magazine!). We were warmly greeted by the host who sat us right away in a sunny spot. Our server was wonderful. I ordered a drink that ended up not being up to par, and he kindly offered to switch it to something else with grace and class, without making me feel badly for asking this. This goes to show the caliber of this long standing institution. Customers are treated well and are respected here. Our snacks from the menu were delicious and perfectly sized. The shrimp cocktail was made well. The lamb meatballs were flavorful and hearty. My Hemingway Daquiri was refreshing without being too liquor forward. Love all the Luxardo drinks on the menu! We will definitely be back!
