We had a very frustrating experience here. We came with friends, ordered food and hookah, and things started off fine. However, once we ordered dessert, no one came to clear our dirty plates, so we ended up eating dessert on the same plates we had sushi on - not ideal, but we let it go. As it got closer to closing time, someone finally came over and asked if they could clear some plates. We thought they were cleaning up the table, but instead, they took our desserts -- without asking -- even though more than half of each one was still left! They also asked to remove cups, and even when our friend said to leave one, they took it anyway. But the worst part: one of our friends was actively smoking the hookah when a staff member walked over, grabbed the body of the hookah while it was still in her hand, and said, "Can I take this?" At that point, she had no choice but to let go. It was extremely rude and disrespectful. When we asked to speak with a manager, only our server came over. He dismissed our concerns, saying, "Nothing happened, we can bring the drink back." Really? When he asked the staff member why the hookah was taken, the answer was simply, "It's 20 minutes past closing." No one ever warned us that they will be closing soon. Despite all of this we never heard from a manager. We will absolutely not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who expects even basic courtesy or professionalism read more

Brought my niece here since this spot was on my list of LA rooftops to check out. We were impressed by the place's ambiance, service, and drinks, but the food could have been better. We also ran into an issue with the ChargeFuze Charging station since my niece needed a charge, and upon returning the ChargeFuze charger, it kept running the tab. Thankfully the Manager, Gio, assured me I could get it resolved via text directly with the company; if not, he would personally work with me to get the money back. That was a huge relief to me, and I got help from ChargeFuze Customer Service as expected, with a $20 charge overall, so it worked out. It was Gio's reassurance that increased the service level during my visit, and it was nice that he took the time to help out personally. I gave only four stars, as I mentioned, due to the food, which wasn't all that, and the fact that the restaurant seemed to have had a recurring issue with the exact ChargeFuze box we used, yet, they kept renting it out. I would think that at some point, they wouldn't rent something so obviously defective since even the waiter mentioned that the same box we used had given several previous customers issues. It's a reflection on ChargeFuze as a company for sure, but also on the restaurant/hotel/whoever management for continuing to rent it out. Make sure to ask the hostesses/waiters for recommendations on which to use so you don't have issues. The only way we'd come back is for the convenience of the location (centrally located off Brand in an area we already frequent as a family) and the fantastic views. One of our favorite rooftops to go to over the weekend. It's located on top of the Glenmark hotel, and has a beautiful and breathtaking view of the city. Plenty of heaters on cold nights, so be sure to take a jacket or a coat. They have delicious cocktails and mimosa and even on the weekends they serve brunch. They have delicious food to choose from along with sushi and our favorite part would be the coffee and hookah, hookah. Pricing is reasonable considering that they are a hotel and hookah cost $50 which I am willing to pay for that wonderful view and great food. There is a smoking a non-smoking area as well which is convenient for people who don't want to be around the smoke. After a stressful week, a night out with my best gal pals (Melineh H & Te-See B) was much needed, and the Rooftop at Glenmark was the perfect place to unwind. All our drinks were tasty and refreshing and perfect for the warm spring evening. Ashton brought out some bread for us to start with - mini toasted brioche rolls with butter. We also ordered the Truffle Fries and the Beet Salad to share. The fries were intoxicatingly delicious - topped with shaved truffles. I wanted to devour them all. The colorful Beet Salad came with pistachio crusted goat cheese and a pomegranate vinaigrette. The beets were perfectly prepared, and the pomegranate vinaigrette enhanced the flavor. The pistachio goat cheese was creamy and delicious. Paired with the beets it was a perfect combination. (FYI - Fresh Sushi is also available.) I can see why this place is sissy's favorite. Regrettably, our experience was unfavorable when the manager, realizing our non-Armenian background, prohibited the DJ from extending birthday congratulations to my son. This incident suggests a disturbing correlation between satisfactory service and one's ethnic background, potentially violating California laws prohibiting discrimination in public accommodations. California law prohibits discrimination based on nationality or ethnicity in public accommodations, including restaurants. The alleged discriminatory conduct at MYA Rooftop Restaurant is disconcerting, and establishments must uphold the principles of anti-discrimination legislation. In addition to the discriminatory incident, I would like to draw attention to billing irregularities that further compounded the disappointment. I made a reservation fifteen days in advance, adhering to the restaurant's policy of a $50 per person advance payment, totaling $100. This prepayment was anticipated to be deducted from the final bill, including a 3% kitchen charge, an 18% service charge, and applicable taxes. However, despite these specified charges, the prepaid amount still needs to be refunded upon settling the final bill. Furthermore, an incorrectly prepared fake A5 Wagyu dish was returned due to substandard cooking and taste and needed to be removed from the final bill. The quality of ingredients, exemplified by a purportedly fresh truffle, was revealed to be canned and excessively firm, and the misrepresentation of Toro as Chutoro raises concerns about the transparency of billing practices. Each item was invoiced at a premium, notwithstanding its failure to meet the advertised high-quality standards. These issues collectively underscore the need to thoroughly examine MYA Rooftop Restaurant's adherence to anti-discrimination laws and financial transaction transparency. I recommend the oyster plate, it's served with champagne and Shellis which is applied first over the oyster then with the squeeze of lemon and then TaBasco sauce and it makes them delicious from The shell. We ordered every one of the specialty plates which my favorite happen to be the chefs roll, the crunchy shrimp, and the rice cakes that had jalapeños on them I do not recall their names but they were delicious. The lamb chops ordered rare literally flew off the knife and were so easy to cut but each bite was so delicious we also had to have the pulled pork sliders with the sweet pickles which since it was my birthday I had all of them. For dessert I enjoyed the pistachio soft cake which didn't have much time on my plate before it disappeared... For six people the bill was incredibly reasonable and again the service was wonderful and soft to Ashton young lady that made sure our needs were met and then all of the other servers that backed her up and made sure that our food arrived in perfect order so we had time to enjoy each dish before the next one arrived... We got other tables orders and had missing food.. if you're looking for chaos this is your place. I understand why the gratuity is included in the check.. but to be honest it's a disservice it really doesn't allow for the consumer to determine what percentage to tip and takes away from service. We are being forced to tip a service not rendered when we order. This new trend is the most ridiculous thing ever and a server is not "entitled" To this. And lastly, the bill was $168. My friend and I go to split the bill. She gives her card, and I give a $100 bill. The "claim" was they didn't have change!! Ummm you don't have $16???? This is nonsense! However I watched as our server became less and less available and 49 mins in for drinks to be exchanged. Maybe on purpose due to a mishap on the ordering. By an hour however it got old. One of my guest finally got up and got our waiter to ask for boxed Togo. He gave her attitude, told her he was just at our table. ( he was near it?
