This is truly a welcoming environment for all and the instructors and fellow members are all very kind. The workout is definitely on the intense side but there are lots of modifications that you can do to make it easier or harder depending on your fitness level. I…read morehave been working out my whole life, but was really needing to find something different to support and strengthen my lower back and joints. I saw an ad on Facebook for a free Pure Barre class. I signed up and dove in. My free intro class was with the owner, Kendra. She was kind and helpful throughout class-- providing gentle corrections on my form as we went along. I ended up signing up for the "8 class/month" package and am so glad I did. There are several different types of classes to choose from (my faves are Classic and Align). I have found that my workouts at Pure Barre have made me significantly stronger, more toned, more flexible, more controlled, and better balanced. I love that with the 8 class pack, I can fit classes into my monthly schedule at times that work best for me. The schedule varies each day and month, giving you an opportunity to try different classes, instructors, and workout times. The instructors are all amazing and so kind and helpful and encouraging and gentle in their corrections. I appreciate how closely they pay attention to each person's form, while leading a fast paced class. I won't lie-- the classes are hard. But they are worth it. And they move so fast there isn't much time to complain. Classes change monthly, so you never do the same workout more than a time or two. If you're nervous about trying a group class, I recommend still giving Pure Barre a chance. The fast pace, hard work, and fun music make it easy to relax and just focus on yourself and your form.

I don't live in Bexley but I'm often met with friendly classmates and the teachers know my name. Parking is easy to find and the studio is clean, with ample sanitizers around. Often they have free protein bars for grabs... BONUS. The owner is friendly and has been responsive to issues I've had with scheduling. I do think a few upgrades would go a long way. For one, there is not enough equipment for each member in some of the fuller classes - there seems to be a shortage of 3lb and 4lbs weights. I'd LOVEEE new equipment to help switch up the variety of the class - like ankle weights, pilate rings or weighted balls. Just a thought. There's only so much you can do with body weight, a ball and 5 lb or less weights in a barre class. Most of the teachers are creative and great at adding variety but other times it feels a bit stale. I also noticed in the classpass app its says free towels and water. There isn't water or towels. There's a brita filter water pitcher in their back area inside of a fridge but I'm not sure if it's open to the public. I've been dying of thirst before and asked about water and was told to grab a glass from the cabinet and use that brita - I felt like I was at a friend's house asking an adult for a drink, lol. When I signed up there was a new member challenge that entailed completing 10 classes to earn a free pair of socks. I was super excited for this challenge and for the socks since they were cute so I completed 10 classes. On my tenth I walked in and they welcomed me and said congratulations on completing the new member challenge. They even took a photo of me with a sign saying I'd completed the accomplishment. Afterward I asked if I could choose my pair of socks and I was looked at as if I had two heads. Both women at the front desk said there was no such thing and insisted members only get a pair of socks for completing 100 classes. I thought I may have misheard when signing up so I went along and continued with my classes. Except the following week when another woman had completed her tenth class and was awarded and allowed to choose her complimentary pair of socks. This hurt--was my accomplishment not the same? Was I not valued the same way? It seems silly but this small miscommunication just made me feel unwelcome or as if my money or commitment to showing up didn't go as far as someone else's. That day I sent an email requesting my membership to be canceled. We went back and forth a couple times until I was notified that there was a 3 month commitment but once the 3 months are up there was a note on my account and my membership would cancel and I wouldn't be charged! I said great sounds easy enough. So I continued going to classes. When my last class rolled around I wanted to double check that my membership would be ending and safe to say no note was placed on my account and this was very disappointing. While the instructors and most of the staff are wonderful I really wish the management at this place was more thorough in communicating with their team to make sure everyone knows the policies and current promotions/challenges. I would have loved to continue working out here but just couldn't stand the idea of showing up somewhere being promised one thing and provided another. Not to mention many of the classes were repetitive in moves/music. After completing a month of classes I felt like I was stuck in the Groundhogs day movie. Additionally, while there are a variety of classes most class types are scheduled for the same days/times so this limits your ability to sign up for a variety of workouts.

I enjoyed Pure Barre because your first class is free and you do not have to commit right away. I went to the 5:30 Monday Classic Class. When you walk into the studio not far from the front desk are lockers that you can put your stuff in. The class was pretty full. But there was enough distance between people so you don't feel suffocated while you work out. They aLao have wipes to clean the equipment you use(they provide all equipment, you just bring your socks). Our instructor was Abby. She was very attentive and corrected my form whenever I wasn't doing things properly. I will say the class goes a little fast so it was hard to keep up (being that I am new to the language). I'm sure if you go a few times you will catch on. All and all this was a great experience and I could feel each movement targeting specific muscles. I will likely try it again!

Beth explained the area a little bit and then I changed to get ready for my class with Stephanie. Stephanie was such a kind instructor and walked me through each step of the movements we were doing from the warm-up to the barre itself, I felt more confident as much as it hurt so much on my first day. I had so man helpful classmates too explain what to do when I got lost which was so nice. It's all about the movements. Those movements were small and big but they really did the job I was looking for in a fitness studio. Finally, after the 60 minutes we stretched and talked with instructor to get to know the studio and pricing a little bit. They offer a child care area but I don't need it right now. They even offered me a great discounted rate to join and I said I would think about it.
