I don't have enough good things to say about this Pure Barre studio! I am from out of town, here on…read morebusiness, and needed to find my happy place away from home. After wandering in last night for my first class, this is definitely it. From the moment I walked in, the staff was extremely friendly and so warm. I felt like I'd known the girls in there forever. I haven't been to a Pure Barre class (or any barre class for that matter) in about a year, and the teacher yesterday evening walked me through everything I needed to know beforehand. She was supportive during class as well and tweaked my movements for me when they needed it. She stayed a few minutes after class to answer a few questions I had about the movements and was genuinely happy to help and wanted to make sure I felt comfortable. I definitely think it takes a few classes to really get the flow of the class and the different movements (which the teacher echoed when we chatted afterwards as well), but it's one of those classes where I can't wait to get back in the studio and give it another go and get better. Not to mention, my booty is on fire this morning! The studio itself is also adorable as well, and right next to a Whole Foods for dinner after an evening class :) If you've been on the fence about trying Pure Barre out- I'd definitely recommend this studio. You won't feel like an outsider at all and you will want to come back. I also received a phone call this morning from the girls at the studio following up about how my first class was and hoping that I enjoyed my first experience with them. I can tell you I've never received that from a single barre studio I've ever attended- so bravo ladies, keep up the great work!

I can easily recommend this place - great workout and reasonable prices. The staff were all really…read morenice and the instructors able to answer questions and were supportive. I used an unlimited monthly pass that was a special buy. I am so bad about working out and often just cancel with relief I don't have to go. I didn't go as often as I should have during the month, but that is on me. Barre is very low-impact, which I love, but it is still a workout and you do sweat. Grip socks are recommended and they sell them there. A perk of this location is it's right by BBW and Whole Foods!

It sounded like a good introduction to working out in a fun new way! I arrive to the class about 15 minutes early and I was greeted by very friendly woman that worked there that were expecting me as a "new client". They were very inviting and helped explain what I should expect. It made me feel alot more comfortable since I was very nervous to be going to a class that I knew no one from as well as not being a very active person( I did not want to embarrass my self)!! The class started and it had great up beat music, and the instructor Stephanie, was actively checking to make sure everyone was doing the moves properly and encouraging us. The workout it self was great, i felt challenged ( for sure) and was actually surprised on how hard it actually was. A lot of my friends said it was a workout and you feel it the next day but do not actually sweat in class, but I was feeling it! After the class was done Stephanie checked in on me to see how I felt about it all, which was really nice =) I also received a called the next morning to make sure I was feeling ok. Overall, it was a great starting class and I felt challenged, but not thrown in to dark water blind. I plan to go back for another class!

I wasn't planning on buying a package (sessions are a tad on the expensive side) but after one class, I am obsessed. The workout was not like anything I have ever done. It taxed literally every muscle in my body. And the sweet drill sergeant instructors help make class a treat. Two days later, I am still incredibly sore. Every move is tiny - you're working the tiniest muscles in your body, which creates a deep strength. I know that after a few sessions, I am going to start to feel ripped. I love the environment, too. The studio is pretty and the music is good. For new students, they have an offer going on right now - $100 for a month unlimited. Given that an individual class is $23, it's worth it. Also, for those who can't afford to attend regular classes, they sell DVDs. Love pure barre. Can't wait to go to my second class tonight!

The Pilates Reformer class was challenging, but not in a way that makes you feel overwhelmed or defeated. Heather is a fantastic instructor. She gives clear and motivating instruction. I really appreciated how she gives form and technique corrections, so you know that you are doing the exercises safely and correctly. The class size was small which I preferred as a beginner. I am already looking forward to my next class here!

They had just opened last year in March right as the pandemic hit so their business didn't get a lot of attention until just recently with the jump fitness class. The instructor had come to Pretentious Barrel House to do the class. I cannot wait to come back to Studio 86 not only do they have the jump fitness classes but also the pilates reformers. Pay them some love and support local fitness businesses as they could definitely use the love now. Plus you won't regret it, you might even relive your fun childhood days on the trampoline!!

I have taken two Pure Barre classes at this location through Class Pass. Prior to this, I had taken…read morea few barre classes at a couple other studios (not Pure Barre), but none were at the same level as this brand. Each instructor I've had has been great. During class it's clear I'm not a regular, so I appreciate that they do a really great job adjusting my form to ensure I am getting the most out of my workout. The classes fly by and they have a nice flow. I love that there are short stretch sessions after a "set" because my muscles are always exhausted and longing to be lengthened. All the tiny movements in each set really fatigue and tighten the muscles. Because the class goes so quickly and the instructor walks around more than she demos, it's easy to get a bit confused about what you are supposed to be doing. The more you go, the easier it probably becomes to follow along. But don't worry, if you are doing something wrong it won't be long until the instructor comes by to help. It's such a small studio space that you can't hide. Note: Pure Barre runs a tight ship! If you tend to come to classes a couple minutes late, look elsewhere for barre classes. They start on time and don't let people in after the music starts because the classes jump right in - there is no warm up. Also, you do need special socks for these classes.

Initially I had a great experience at Pure Barre! I loved the instructors and the staff and was…read morewilling to sign up for a year long commitment of classes to get a discount but things went a bit sour due to some miscommunication. When I signed up there was a new member challenge that entailed completing 10 classes to earn a free pair of socks. I was super excited for this challenge and for the socks since they were cute so I completed 10 classes. On my tenth I walked in and they welcomed me and said congratulations on completing the new member challenge. They even took a photo of me with a sign saying I'd completed the accomplishment. Afterward I asked if I could choose my pair of socks and I was looked at as if I had two heads. Both women at the front desk said there was no such thing and insisted members only get a pair of socks for completing 100 classes. I thought I may have misheard when signing up so I went along and continued with my classes. Except the following week when another woman had completed her tenth class and was awarded and allowed to choose her complimentary pair of socks. This hurt--was my accomplishment not the same? Was I not valued the same way? It seems silly but this small miscommunication just made me feel unwelcome or as if my money or commitment to showing up didn't go as far as someone else's. That day I sent an email requesting my membership to be canceled. We went back and forth a couple times until I was notified that there was a 3 month commitment but once the 3 months are up there was a note on my account and my membership would cancel and I wouldn't be charged! I said great sounds easy enough. So I continued going to classes. When my last class rolled around I wanted to double check that my membership would be ending and safe to say no note was placed on my account and this was very disappointing. While the instructors and most of the staff are wonderful I really wish the management at this place was more thorough in communicating with their team to make sure everyone knows the policies and current promotions/challenges. I would have loved to continue working out here but just couldn't stand the idea of showing up somewhere being promised one thing and provided another. Not to mention many of the classes were repetitive in moves/music. After completing a month of classes I felt like I was stuck in the Groundhogs day movie. Additionally, while there are a variety of classes most class types are scheduled for the same days/times so this limits your ability to sign up for a variety of workouts.

Upon my arrival I was warmly greeted by Beth who owns the studio. There are two classrooms for barre, the first one she showed me was quite big and scenic with an outdoor view while the second was smaller. Beth explained the area a little bit and then I changed to get ready for my class with Stephanie. Stephanie was such a kind instructor and walked me through each step of the movements we were doing from the warm-up to the barre itself, I felt more confident as much as it hurt so much on my first day. I had so man helpful classmates too explain what to do when I got lost which was so nice. It's all about the movements. Those movements were small and big but they really did the job I was looking for in a fitness studio. Finally, after the 60 minutes we stretched and talked with instructor to get to know the studio and pricing a little bit. They offer a child care area but I don't need it right now. They even offered me a great discounted rate to join and I said I would think about it. I was running later than I would've liked (it was so, so cold on Saturday) and arrived with 5 mins to class. The girl at the front introduced me to the instructor, let me catch my breath, and told me that I could fill the form out after class. My instructor was Jenna and she was wonderful - she checked on everyone through class and did a great job of demonstrating/explaining each move. It was an energetic, motivating and tough class that I thoroughly enjoyed! The studio was clean, had lockers, restrooms and also offered childcare for you mommas out there! They also have a large parking lot (bonus!) and a small retail section. It's on my list of studios to return to as I felt very welcomed and received a great workout!
