Each class is challenging and I do believe that my strength and endurance have both improved significantly. If you're someone who doesn't like running (like me), the great thing about Studio Torch is that you won't be running more than 7 minutes max. The classes are in the form of stations with varying reps, times, distances, and number of times you rotate around the room. The community and staff are also part of why I enjoy it so much. Their weekly schedule is as follows: Monday Arms and Abs, Tuesday Total Body Circuit, Wednesday Butt and Legs, Thursday Total Body Tabata, Friday Cardio and Core, Saturday Total Body, and Sunday Total Body. If you're looking to trial the place, they do a week unlimited for $10! Hands down favorite place to workout.

Every time I walk in everyone just looks so "fit" and knows what they're doing. Don't be afraid to ask questions! The employees are so nice. There are different stations such as treadmill, tower, TRX, weights, etc. It varies each time, but the instructors are good at explaining it. They've been good about extra sanitization because you keep the same spray bottle and towel with you the whole time so you won't touch what everyone else is touching. You also hang your keys so you won't have to take it around with you. It truly is a killer workout and I would recommend it. Get there 10 minutes early if you can incase you have any questions and you don't want to miss the demonstrations!

I've worked with four of them, plus met another coach and also the owner. They have all proved to be very knowledgeable, helpful, and supportive. They were picky about form, which I was glad of. I'd rather do it right from the get go and not have to correct bad habits later. I need soooo much scaled and every coach has been amazing at that. Really, it's every scary thing I thought it would be and yet also NOT any scary thing I thought it could be....at the same time. How can that be? I will tell you: it's because it is oh so challenging in a place that is safe and supportive. Where trying your best when you totally are struggling to complete something brings a total stranger over to clap for you and tell you "you can do it!" I really like this place.

Like some folks, I had the misconception that it was only for people who were already athletic and that I'd be pressured to live a specific kind of lifestyle or follow a prescriptive diet. However, between the positive reviews and the low risk 101 classes for beginners, we figured that it was worth a shot to try it out for ourselves and see if we liked it. We started the Crossfit 101 at the end of January 2022 and by the time we finished our last on-ramp class, we were all in! It felt so good to get active, but what really made us decide to stick with it is the positive vibe in the CrossFit Clintonville community. The coaches are all encouraging and eager to impart their wisdom, and they stress good technique and meeting yourself where you're at over "going hard" and risking injury just to get PRs. Other CrossFitters were welcoming and cheer each other on. At 3+ months in, we're both hooked and get to class 3x/week. I've been blown away by how far I've come physically--just a few months shy of my 40th birthday and I'm able to do (modified) push-ups like I have never ever been able to do even when I was working out in a gym and running 9 miles a week in my 20s! The facility is nice and open, the equipment is well maintained, and it's in a really convenient location to the Clintonville and adjacent areas. CFC, you've got a fan in me!

They opened during the midst of COVID and have been following strict guidelines which have loosened since the vaccine rolled out. I appreciate their diligence in cleaning and social distancing. If you go there regularly like a certain member of my household, they really get to know you. As someone who loves to just lie on the couch and eat potato chips, this has been the work-out type that I've committed to the longest (1.5-2 years now) because I don't have to think about anything. I just sign up, go in, let the coaches do their magic, try my best, and I know that I'll have a good workout within one hour. The rest of the day, I don't have to think about exercise at all! For the other member of my family, he loves exercising and working out and this has been great for him, too. It is a consistent part of his week, and he has majorly lost weight, become faster, and gained muscle mostly due to Orangetheory (and improving his diet, of course). It has been a really encouraging journey, and I would recommend it to anyone from those who hate fitness but need a change to those who love it.

Gail Mitch and Jen Borman have pooled their years of experience in the fitness industry, dreams, skills, talents, visions, passions, knowledge, and energy to create Workshop Method. And it's right here in Columbus! Clintonville, to be exact. You guys, we are SO lucky! Imagine if you could draw inspiration from every workout you've ever loved, dream up a way to integrate what totally rocked, make it a reality, and teach classes with the principles YOU believe in. You end up with this contagious energy you can sense throughout your workout. It has been so fun to be a part of their first few months in business and I can't get enough. Classes are organized by body part/style of workout and are scheduled in such a way that you can safely go as frequently as you would like. Workouts are the same throughout each day, but will vary in routine from week for week. For example, Mondays are always "Glutes & Legs," and the 6:30 workout will be the same as the 9:30, 4:30, and so on. But the following Monday will be a fresh set of glute and leg work. If you choose to come back Tuesday, you can expect to work back and chest. (These are subject to change). Each day varies on a rotating schedule. Each class has a little different style, but some things are consistent. You will always get a grade-A warm-up. I promise you'll never jump right into the most intense thing off the bat and it's never an after-thought. Jen and Gail believe (rightly so) that you'll perform your best and be able to sustain your level of training if you activate the right muscles and get the mobility you need. I'm talking a solid 10 minutes of band work activating glutes, some light rowing increase heart rate, shoulder stabilization, and mental focus. It's the kind of warm-up with an intensity level that usually gets a few surprised faces when they ask "Alright, that was just the warm-up. Are we ready to begin?" The heart of your workout will use bands, weights, your body weight, and high quality water rowers. If you haven't been on one before, it's very friendly to your joints and pretty quick to learn with their helpful cues. You'll be using your whole body, so it makes for a great cardio interval when done at varying speeds and durations. While you're off the rower, on the mat at your station, expect to engage in creative, easy-to-learn resistance exercises that you'll do in sequence along with everyone else in class. You guys KNOW how many new places I end up and how much diversity I have in my workouts and every time they have something new for me. It's refreshing and presents a welcome challenge. I am never ever bored at Workshop Method. It helps distract me from how hard I am working. I always leave feeling accomplished.
