He lied about sending my friend mail and emails for months even though this was only the 3rd month of delinquency. My friend's card expired, he's not a crook. He didn't even visit the gym in months so it's not as if he consumed any of their services. The debt collector told my friend that he needed to pay it that day and when my friend suggested paying it back later that same month on his payday the debt collector HUNG UP ON HIM. No caller id, no name, and no callback number given so there's no way to get into contact with him to pay it off. My friend contacted Snap and they informed him of the owner's decision to use this contractor. The employee at Snap agreed to set up a payment on the 30th and to talk to the contractor to tell him that my friend was paying. The contractor called back that same day demanding payment and assuming that my friend has a poor relationship with his family since he has no one to get a $100 bucks from. When my friend told him that he called snap and set up payment the contractor called him a lier. Naturally, the contractor hung up on my friend again. There isn't an excuse for this man's behavior. Thankfully Yahweh defends his children and will judge this man for his actions on the last day.

Absolutely Unacceptable Cancellation & Billing Practices. I cancelled my Planet Fitness membership…read morein person, yet continued to be charged anyway. When I noticed the charges didn't stop, I made multiple attempts to resolve it--including two emails and phone calls--none of which were returned. The facility did not answer the phone, and no one responded to my emails. Despite cancelling, I was charged again, and then charged the annual fee on top of it. To make matters worse, when I finally spoke with the director, they refused to refund the annual charge that should never have gone through in the first place. At one point during my membership, I was even charged twice in a single month. If you sign up here, I can almost guarantee you'll deal with overcharges, poor communication, and a complete lack of accountability. This business is untrustworthy and unwilling to make things right, even when the error is clearly on their end. Cancelling should not require this level of effort, persistence, and stress. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.

They opened during the midst of COVID and have been following strict guidelines which have loosened since the vaccine rolled out. I appreciate their diligence in cleaning and social distancing. If you go there regularly like a certain member of my household, they really get to know you. As someone who loves to just lie on the couch and eat potato chips, this has been the work-out type that I've committed to the longest (1.5-2 years now) because I don't have to think about anything. I just sign up, go in, let the coaches do their magic, try my best, and I know that I'll have a good workout within one hour. The rest of the day, I don't have to think about exercise at all! For the other member of my family, he loves exercising and working out and this has been great for him, too. It is a consistent part of his week, and he has majorly lost weight, become faster, and gained muscle mostly due to Orangetheory (and improving his diet, of course). It has been a really encouraging journey, and I would recommend it to anyone from those who hate fitness but need a change to those who love it.

I first heard about SOS from a few folks when I worked at L Brands. They had a few loyal customers with whom I worked. To be honest, I was a little intimidated when I'd see these folks post about their workouts on social media. I had thought about trying it circa 2017, but was too intimidated (my loss!). But in 2019, I ended up with a stress fracture while marathon training. I was able to barely finish my training for the NYC Marathon, which I did successfully complete in November 2019. But at that point, it was evident that I couldn't just keep running marathons without incorporating strength training into my routine. So in Christmas Week 2019, I started with the 7 class starter pack just to try it out. My first class was The Course with Kelsey. I felt comfortable because I knew Kelsey from work and luckily a few other co-workers happened to be in the class as well. I still remember during the warm up, I was thinking "dang this is tough!" And Kelsey even said "Much different than running a marathon, right Chelsea?!" She couldn't have been more spot on! I ended up feeling like the class was super tough but I was paired up with a coworker who was so supportive and kind (thank you, Shideh, if you're reading this!). By the time my 7 class pass was up, I was hooked and became a monthly member. I even joined Team Tread (their half & full marathon training program) in January to start training for the Nashville Half in April 2020. Unfortunately for me, my SOS morning routines were abruptly halted in March 2020. But luckily, my team tread registration got me into the "digital studio" which I had no idea what it was at the time. I very quickly uncovered that it's all the same studio instructors and they have recorded classes with new uploads almost daily as well as a huge library of online classes (which as you can imagine has only grown in the past 5 years). I did what everyone else was doing and immediately ordered as many dumbbells, resistance bands, and other equipment to build up a "home SOS studio" and my equipment has been growing ever since. I moved to Arizona in summer 2021, and have continued to be a dedicated Digital Studio user and advocate. Whenever I come home to Ohio (whether Cbus or Cincy), I get giddy at the thought of going to classes in person and it's a treat to choose which classes I'll take and with which instructors. I got married in June 2024 and I purchased the "Badass Bride" classes on the Digital Studio. As I was taking them and leaving comments the owner, Gretchen, messaged me and said she wanted to send me an SOS wedding gift. You'd never believe how touched I was to see a SOS tank, hoodie, sweat towel and t-shirt show up the week of my wedding. I'm still so honored by these thoughtful gifts. Someone I've never even met in person (which is hard to believe given how obsessed I am with SOS lol!) went out of their way to make my wedding week all the more special. I can honestly say SOS Digital Studio has helped me get in the best shape of my life. I feel like I personally know all of the trainers (I don't have social media anymore, but when I did, I followed all of them, so again, felt like I kew them personally). When I was in Hawaii for my wedding, SO many people were asking me about my arms and complimenting me. I kept trying to tell them about the DS and how special SOS is. I will always be a dedicated and loyal fan. It's become such a part of my routine that I'm on Christas Break now with my husband in Kansas (where he's from) and I've brought my ankle weights, light weights and loop bands just so I can get some classes in. Thank you, Gretchen and team for helping me be the best version of myself every day! Can't imagine what I'd do without the DS and my SOS training crew! (Only word of advice to newbies- the System DOES work! Don't skip out on any classes. As you can imagine, being a marathon runner, I favored all of the cardio classes. It is all about tone and high-rep, intense cardio and light weights. Classes are often so overbooked I was not even able to schedule the "Ebb and Flow" to check it out on an introductory package. It seems designed almost purely for late 20's 30's and early 40's professionals. The intensity increased my hunger and had me gaining significant weight in a fairly short time. SOS needs to do a profile on people's fitness goals and be real about it. There is almost no help on that as in a regular gym. Summarized, I would call it well-run but too narrow for a wide swathe of people. It's expensive too. I only pay 30 dollars for the locally owned Columbus Sports Connection a mile away and they have yoga, fitness, and indoor bike classes that don't fill up. I am glad I tried SOS but it has proven itself incompatible with my fitness goals.

My primary goals are to stay fit, learn to lift weights, and improve my health in a way that was fun. I get bored and side tracked easily. I like group classes because the regular schedule and coaching keeps me on task and committed. If you are someone who is looking at crossfit or had done it before, and you're looking for something that makes sense but is a generalized routine, this is the place for you. The only difference is that The Spot actually makes sense. Their training routines are designed to get you fit in an intelligent way, not in a way that is unnecessarily intense and frustrating for the sake of being intense. What really impresses me about The Spot is their intelligent and insightful coaches. I have learned and changed a lot about my body and body mechanics since being here. On my first day a coach noticed my back was hurting from a lift and we have since spent the last year being given the appropriate exercises I needed to lift properly and utilize muscles that were previously under utilized. I'm no longer riddled with constant back pain from working out. The quality of my lifts such as front and back squats and deadlifts have improved because I am using my core to stabilize now. The GAINZ have been more than what I have lifted on the bar, but also how well it feels now. The primary set up of a workout session at the Spot goes as such: warm up, main lifting block, then 2 or 3 circuits focused on accessories and conditioning. It's impossible to feel bored. Much of the accessory work involves balance and stability exercises, which I have noticed have really paid off especially in the leg strength environment. The place is very open to a range of body types and back grounds. I've never been very athletic, but all the exercises are designed so that everyone is doing the same thing and no one is ever ahead or behind, yet everyone is being appropriately challenged. I exercise alongside incredible athletes, and I also get to watch new comers get a great workout while being included with the class the whole time. I highly recommend The Spot. I will probably be attending as long as I am in Columbus and The Spot is open. My favorite coaches are Billy, Steve, Levi, Jay, and Maeve. They all know their stuff. They know how to be encouraging. They now how to be patient and listen to you. They're all affable and fun. The owner is very passionate about what he does.
