First of all, it's no longer My Nanny's Restaurant..it is called Siren Spoon.. It looks like it has been totally renovated and they did a super job on it. We stopped there yesterday. Had breakfast. They have a very large varied menu. The portions are very good and tasted very good as well. Prices are very reasonable. It is bright and again very clean. It has a very friendly staff. It shows that they appear to be new or have new staff. Service is good but it does need a little fine tuning, very minor issues. Their friendliness and willingness to make visit pleasant shows. Just off the Commerical Way commotion, we found this little gem. Pinched sideways into a spot, many pass by without giving her a thought. My Nanny's. I bet most of us have, or had, a Nanny. A matronly figure in our lives who somehow earned the moniker, the nickname, Nanny. I know I did. That was my mother, to my kids. She loved being called Nannee. So, with that said, I already had a fondness for the place, before my Fav Fab One & I stepped in. Newbies, as it were. We were seated and greeted by the fabulous Crystal. Her eyes mesmerized through a gleeful palette of eyeshadow-y creativity. Funny how that ensured my Fab One, and I, that our Nanny stand-in du jour was gonna be fun. We found a mutual icebreaker. Now found, the nurturing Nanny-ness began. Picture this woman, Crystal, homing in on each diner with a GPS precision that magnified her magnificence. LOL Zooming by, then to a halt like a bridled and tied up thoroughbred. Fab One agreed we were watching 'greased' lightning (I love that one!). The woman I'm nuts about ordered The Landlovers BLT. She ordered bacon, folks! She is definitely a keeper! I enjoyed watching her enjoy her meal. As I munched on my Gyro Greek Omelette. A 3-egg 'egg roll' of Mediterranean might. Those slivers of Greek Gyro meat, the kind that is shaved off of a cone-shaped spire of blended meats. A masterpiece in meatology. Crystal slid in a cup of that oddly exotic Tzatziki sauce. White creamy concoction of cucumber, yogurt, garlic and more. Yum to the YUM. We also got the occasional maternal check-in from another wonder, named Chrissy. Hmmm, Crystal AND Chrissy. Sounds like a sitcom duo. She provided the appetizing background on Nanny's. Offerings of the day we might like to savor. Samples of carrot cake. Along with a batch of kindness. Yeah, we had a grand time. Our first time. Not likely to be a one-time wonder, either. Imagine that, just a turn signal's width off of 19. Put your signal on and turn, next time by. So the Paison and I decided to make a return visit to My Nanny's restaurant on US 19 for breakfast this morning.. I had been here previously and loved the food and especially the good service but he had never been so I decided to treat him. We see now that there are new owners, and it is now actually called The Siren's Spoon! and the pictures will say everything. Their water bagels are fresh and crispy and absolutely delicious. Everything here is super fresh. I was very impressed by that. Give it a try-you won't be sorry. It's a small place. It's nothing fancy, but oh boy, let me tell you what- Chrissy is the best server I've seen in a long time for a Mom and Pop Place! I have a feeling this little gem is going to expanding and do very very well . Give it a try y'all. They have done some work inside the restaurant with some very cute aquatic themed silk prints and they have "Siren TV" which shows some cute mermaids holding different specials offered every day. The Peach had been here previously and loved the food and especially the good service but he had never been so I decided to treat him. Great Breakfast Dinner. Like having breakfast at your nanny's. Breakfast the way it is supposed to be. Family feeling and food.

We had such a wonderful experience at My Nanny's Restaurant in Brooksville! From the moment we walked in, Chrissy made us feel right at home. She was so nice, funny, and incredibly accommodating--truly one of the best servers we've ever had. She went out of her way to make sure we were well cared for, offering fantastic suggestions that made our meal even more enjoyable. Chrissy's recommendation for the strawberry shortcake was perfect--it was the ideal treat to take with us and enjoy later. You can tell she loves what she does and genuinely wants every guest to leave happy and full. If you're anywhere near Brooksville, make sure to stop in and see Chrissy at My Nanny's. My Nanny's passed the parking lot test (full) so Hubs, I and adorable grand stopped for breakfast. Seat yourself. We waited (and waited) for menus and coffee. Not a good sign. Apparently other staff failed to show ~ also not great ~ and perhaps with a full staff more stars would apply. Did I mention adorable grand is two? Tough to wait ~ but we sang songs and tried to be creative. One star for bringing grand's plate ahead of ours. They also comped our coffee (another star). Probably the most important thing ~ the food. Absolutely scrumptious and served exactly as ordered. Scrambled eggs with cheese ~ hot and tasty. Grits ~ perfect consistency (add your own salt). Grand ate every bite of eggs then took some from our plates. Hubs did the homestyle fries ~ hot and delicious. Service picked up when another waitress arrived. Basic food that tastes good. Our experience isn't a reason not to give them a try. read more

Great place! Visiting for a week. Went for breakfast and was not disappointed. Each of us had 1/2 order biscuits and gravy, then sides of fried tators, bacon and grits. All of it was good and reasonably priced. Waitress was swamped but kept everyone happy. Would definitely go back. read more

Stopped in for quick bite after seeing the mermaids! Yummy lunch and the best part was when Ronnie described her desserts and then gave us a small brownie sample which was DELICIOUS - we had to leave with dessert (key lime pie - DELICIOUS). Very homey, worth the stop! read more

This is as local as it gets with great food and terrific service. Doesn't look like much inside or out but you can have a wonderful cooked to order meal here at a reasonable price. I had the eggs with corned beef hash and home fries which was excellent. Don't judge a book by it's cover, or a restaurant by the condition of the parking lot. read more

Terrific breakfast, fantastic and friendly service, great prices! Stopped in for breakfast and I'm glad I did. The home fries are delicious potatoes full of yummy onions (You can order them with or without - I chose to have onions) and it sure did add a special treat. Christy was my server and she was working the entire room and didn't miss a beat! She was aware of each table and customer needs. I also ordered the country fried steak and poached eggs. The steak was hot and very tasty with a crispy outer crust and nicely cooked and seasoned meat. I enjoyed every bite. My poached eggs were cooked just right. I got a biscuit warmed up and lightly toasted (Christy suggested this) and she knew it was the way to go! My breakfast was awesome and I will definitely be making it back here again ASAP! This is a review update from when we dined at My Nanny's. The pictures are from a visit a few years ago, but apparently the old review disappeared. So, a total of three times...two times this season, and once years ago (pictures are from last time). My husband had an omelette with meat, a western omelette, and meat loaf the time before. I had fish and veggie, and another time, breakfast. Our waitress, Ronnie, was very personable and kind. My husband spoke to the cook to give his compliments. All the other waitresses were also friendly. A very clean, tasty, good place to eat. Plan on becoming regulars. Would highly recommend. They have regular customers, who were also kind. we were coming from out of town for a visit with family in the area. So I searched area restaurants online and the good reviews and extensive menu caught my eye. There were 11 of us for lunch on a Saturday. I could not have picked a better place. The food was amazing, and the service was just as good! Ronnie our server was very accommodating and got everyones order right and everyone was pleased. I sent a msg ahead of time for the table to be ready and it was all set up. If you're looking for a fancy restaurant just keep moving on down the highway because this place is not that. However if you're looking for a yummy homestyle meal served by friendly waitresses in a down-home atmosphere you've come to the right place. This was our second visit and we had the all you can eat fish fry and the popcorn shrimp. Both meals were delicious. Our waitress, Ronnie treated us as if we were old friends and couldn't have been more efficient or nicer. The star on top of this Christmas tree is however the homemade dessert menu. I had the homemade cheesecake in a brownie crust topped with whipped cream and chocolate sauce and my sweetheart had the key lime pie, both of them over the fence out of the park home runs. Bottom line is if your hungry and your looking for a for nice meal this is your best bet on route 19. read more

We came here as it was close to my mothers hotel. It's a little hole in the wall, if you drive by too fast, you wouldn't even notice it! The decor is definitely not impressive, tables and seats are pretty much worn down, but not horrible. We were greeted right away and given the ok to seat anywhere. They have two dining locations. A small one right when you walk in and then another one, a bit bigger, through the doorway and down a couple of steps (literally). There were two waitresses who basically teamed up together to help all the customers. They were both very efficient and nice. We ordered breakfast/lunch and the food came out great. Exactly how we ordered and tasted great as well! For the price, everything is more than worth it! We do plan on going again as we quite enjoyed our visit and would definitely suggest others to give them a try as well! read more

Nice local place for fresh, hot food and friendly service. I ordered fried fish, fries, and cole slaw. It was a nice whitefish (not catfish) and you can choose flour or cornmeal coating. We are all a about giving the Mom & Pop places a try. Well, we tried to like it but nah. It was all tasteless and bland. No amount of salt and pepper was gonna help either. I had the Philly Steak Omelette. I was grateful for the copious amount of cheese in it. The side of home fries were tasteless as well. My husband was with me and he said the same about his country fried steak. Tasteless and bland. On the other hand, the staff was masked up and nice. The old Nanny's is gone! The Philly Cheese Steak omelette has been my go-to breakfast for years at Nanny's. Today, I ordered one, and it could only be described as a pepper-onion omelette. I thought I was served the wrong omelette, and the waitress thought the same. Took it to the kitchen, and nope. The cook said it was correct. So when she brought it back, we opened up at the table. LOTS of red onions, LOTS of green peppers, a few mushroom slices, ONE piece of steak that we saw, and NO cheese that we could find. The new decor is very nice, the deli will be a nice addition, but I went there for their breakfast, and it is NO MORE. read more
