There are a few staff at My Mani Pedi Spa that are good and then there are those that couldn't care less..... I recently had a pedicure here and my nail person didn't remove the old gel polish completely because it was taking too long. She then proceeded to slap on the new color and when I asked why it was 'bumpy' - she retorted it was the old polish underneath. I opted for dazzle dry and it has already smudged because the steps were completely incorrectly. A pedicure is a treat and I am currently sitting at Miniluxe to redo her poor service. With the removal of the nail polish from my pedicure earlier this week, I also see when she used the drill she removed some of my nail bed. You can see in the polish-less toe photo. read more

I have never written a bad review but this will be my first. I watched the employees put dirty, un sanitized tools into the little blue bags to give the appearance of being cleaned. I still went forward with my manicure (dumb of me), and proceeded to have the worst mani of my life. My nails are literally breaking and falling apart. It has been 48ish hours now and the nails have cracked into my nail bed. I wish I could have warned myself, so instead I'm warning you. read more

Sara helped me with both services and she was very sweet and accommodating. She checked in with me several times during my appt to make sure that I liked her work and reminded me to let her know if I didn't like anything so she can fix it. Awful! Couldn't do simple dip removal and cut(not even manicure)! Don't recommend, if you care about your nails!

Got sent home with nails not dry: I came back here yesterday for the first time again after living in the area in 2015. This time I was not so happy with the result. I chose a pedicure and had plenty of time, however Tracy who took care of me sent us out after drying the polish for one round only and testing a nail proclaiming it has dried enough. I could have stayed longer but she said that they are dry and we can leave. However, polish on both feet came off and I'm sad about it. It's inexplicable to me how in times where other salons use quick dry spray, dry top coats and drug stores sell one-drop dry oils (Essie eg), this salon can't manage to send home customers with dry polish. read more

UPDATE: don't go to this place. Idk what kind of manicure they did/didn't do, but my gel manicure chipped after a couple days and literally is peeling off. If I'm able to peel off a gel manicure you KNOW it's not done right. Save your money and go somewhere else ------------------------------------------------ Kinda rude and literally the worst gel manicure Ive ever had. Only one person knows how to do an nail extensions, which they didn't mention until I was there. So I had to get my manicure done on my own nails that were a disaster and barely lasted a week. Then the gel was bumpy and uneven in some places and see through in others. Literally could have done it better myself. Will be going to a different salon to get them redone. If you are in a hurry, this is not the nail salon for you. I called ahead and made an appointment but waited 30 minutes until someone actually started my pedicure. They will start your foot bath so you think it will begin but then you just sit there. They clearly overcommit themselves with appointments and walk-ins as I watched it happen to 2 other guests while I was there, one person I think waited for 45 minutes in her foot bath! Everyone is friendly and did a decent job but there are other salons within a few blocks that will do just as good of a job in half the time. read more

I was near the train station and had an hour to kill, so I thought what a great way to spend a few minutes. I might as well get a manicure. However, I instantly regretted it. Pros: + Beautifully decorated + Quick wait Cons: - Rough with manicures - despite my complaints, the manicurist was very rough with my hands. I have cuts still from this manicure. - Pushing "up-charges" for nail polish - Goodness... If you want anything besides a few basic OPI colors, they'll charge you an additional $5 for it. - Rush you out the door - they can do a manicure in maybe 15 minutes (yes, that's fast...), but you'll have cuts, and poorly painted nails. If you ask them to redo nails (even if they smudged the nail themselves), they will give you the ugliest glare. After rushing you with your manicure, they'll also rush you out the door (even while waiting for your nails to dry.) - Questionable sanitation - the place looks clean, but I don't think they do a good job disinfecting any of the equipment. For example, for a pedicure bath, I saw one of the staff barely wipe down the spa bath that the pedicure came in. For tools (cuticle clippers, nails, etc.) I saw the server barely rinse the tools in water and put them back into a drawer. Another used the same drawer to do get a "clean" set for the next customer. TBH, I don't think this place seems hygienic. I was worried I'd leave with a horrible skin infection. TBH, I will not be coming back to this place again. The hygiene was questionable (at best), poor service/quality of manicure, and not a relaxing environment. read more

Such a beautiful salon, definitely the best I've seen in the South End if not all of Boston! I like to treat myself to an herbal spa pedicure and extra foot massage here before grabbing dinner next door at B&G Oysters. May is actuality the most amazing, fast, and friendly gel manicurist I have ever had. EVER. I swore I would never spend money on gels again but after going to her and seeing how quick and wonderful she does it I had to start going again! Amazing pedicure and beautiful gel french manicure! Four stars because I'm a little perplexed about the pricing... When I went to pay I was told it would be $77.00!!! In their brochure a pedicure is listed at $25.00, which would mean my gel French mani was $52.00? Unfortunately they don't have any prices in their brochure for gel anything, which is strange. The only thing I can think of is that the woman doing my pedi may have asked me if I wanted extra massage time and I couldn't understand what she was saying no matter how many times she repeated it, so eventually I just smiled and nodded. She did massage for a long while, but I thought it was just because they were kind of slow that day. I felt bad asking and just paid up. Next time I'm going to ask how much everything is before I pay, suggest you do too! read more

I had wanted to get a Mani/Pedi since 2005 when I quit working at SimonDelivers.com and my hands were calloused and wrecked. Well I got a little side tracked, but 5 years later I finally got it done! I went with my GF after work on a Friday. They were busy, but didn't rush us through. We were able to call late in the afternoon and get an appointment for 5:30. The staff was funny; they joked, "you want same color?" I decided to just get them buffed and skip the color. Maybe next time, but only if I can get a deep metallic purple to match the motorcycle... OK, maybe not. Since they didn't have to paint, they took extra time on my cuticles, and the massage. My feet and hands looked and felt great when I was done. I might be hooked. read more

I started going here a few months ago because it is right around the corner from my apartment. Except for once in which I got a girl who was a little too aggressive for me and did a poor job with the nail polish, all other girls in that salon always do a phenomenal job (if you want names of good girls to schedule an appointment with, I am willing to share if you send me a message). My mani-pedi always lasts for longer than it used to before I found this place. The one thing I wish they changed are the chairs. They are supposed to be massage chairs, but I guess they no longer work (just make noise, no movement). I think it is time for them to upgrade the chairs, then I will consider giving them a 5. read more

I've been here twice and had dueling experiences. The first time I went I was in a rush, which was stupid of me, but the young woman did a bangup job with my french manicure. I think I ruined it by running to my office afterwards so who knows whether it was really good, but as I glanced at it when I left it looked decent. She was also really nice. I just went for another manicure, this time with just clear polish, and it was awful. The woman kept looking at the door ever 5 seconds, WHILE she was using the cuticle clipper. I had to direct her to do a few finishing touches on clipping + filing, and she didn't even do what I asked her to well. The clear polish ended up with bubbles all over it, she cut my nails much shorter than I asked, my cuticles were not clean, and the hand massage I got was about 30 seconds on each hand. I probably won't be going back here, but I think it all depends on who you get. If they'd wear name tags I could be more specific. Also, know that if they tell you it's a 2-5 minute wait, it's more like 10-15 minutes at the least. I would avoid this place when they're busy. read more

It is slightly more expensive than some of the other places in the city, but not too bad. And for me, the most important thing is being able to get in. And the girls here are always really friendly. I like this place because the end result is consistent. Walk ins are welcome and there is meter parking - but most clients are residents of the South End. Gay friendly.
