Gadget Guru was able to fix our drone for less than the cost of having to buy a new one and we are so excited to have it back and running again :) There were unexpected delays in supplies of drone parts which we would have experienced ourselves as well (the times we live in). They reliably called with updates and thanked us for our patience. Great communication regarding what they found to be wrong and what they would be replacing to fix the problem, with time estimates as best they could :) I will definitely be a return customer with any other electronics in need of repair. So overall not good value. But I can say they atleast take the amount of time they say they will and give updates so good customer service. I noticed this business not only because of it's clever name (aka Woman operated-BONUS!), but also because of the availability to get a fast quote! Nikki responded quickly with a fair price, she answered all of my questions through yelp messages right away and provided me with a wide flexible range of appointments (Im a single mother of a 3yo so this was a huge plus!) and said it would take her about 30-40mins to complete. The very next day we headed to my appt, it was right off the highway and easy to locate (tip: when you arrive at the "mini strip mall", you park and then follow the path around to the backside of the building and follow the arrows). My son & I were absolutely amazed by the beautiful setting of this location! The inside of Geek Girl was perfect.. Very chic with the perfect amount of feminine touch to remind you who is in charge Nikki greeted us with a smile and was more than happy to answer any of my questions, i handed over my sad broken phone and then my son & I stepped right outside the office to enjoy the views. Normally I am not rash, and churlish enough to toss my phone on a carpeted floor expecting it to land safely. No it bounced and hit the frame of a antique sewing machine, so perfectly that it cracked the screen...okay confession over. So this process took a week and 3 trips. I am willing to accept that some of the overall length of time is "supply chain" [they didn't have my screen model in stock]. However my only knock is the said they would call and never did. I called a few days into the wait. Young man said it was there, so I made the trip (not that far, but still not without hassle). When I arrived he looked around (I would argue that should have been done when I called) and was told to come over. All good we all make lazy mistakes sometimes. Young man was otherwise professional and polite. Anyway the work was done correctly, phone looks like new and $100 lesson in being an impulsive dolt was worth it. Lesson learned, get more sleep during the week, get some exercise, manage stress better so you don't have to go through this first world problem, a dumb problem to create for yourself.

Sham. As an update: I have been contacted by the owner trying to give me gift cards and other things to make up for my experience if I promise to remove my review. My phone was fixed by another reputable company and I do not want anything from your store. Moreover, this is a review site where we write honest reviews of what happened in our business interactions. I trust and use Yelp myself for many different things and would hope I'm receiving honest reviews which is exactly what mine is. I am not going to get paid off by a business owner. It was completed in a couple of days at which point we picked it up, took it home and discovered that the power button no longer worked. She returned immediately to UTX where the owner informed her that, yep it's broken and "I didn't do it". He then offered to giver her an estimate to repair it if she left it with him! So her cosmetic repair has become a disabling issue thanks to the ineptitude of UTX. Pay the extra and get it done by someone reputable who has some degree of respect for their customers and exhibits some level of responsibility for their errors.

Very slow service and poor communication…read more The diagnostic process took far longer than expected, despite my repeatedly following up for updates. Communication throughout the process was poor, and I was rarely informed about the status of my laptop. In the end, I was simply told that the motherboard was damaged and the laptop could not be repaired. If I just wanted a second opinion that my laptop was broken, I could have gotten one much much faster and at no cost. The experience cost me both time and money, and I was left frustrated by the lack of timely updates and clear communication. I can't comment on the quality of their repair work since no repair was performed, but based on my experience, their communication and turnaround time need significant improvement.
