Caesar was beyond amazing. I had a tankless hot water heater that stopped working a couple days prior. I found Caesar through HomeAdvisor. Although I called before his business opened, he called me back instantly. I explained the issue I was having with my tankless hot water heater. He asked me to send him a picture with the model # and serial # so he could call the company to see what would be cover under warranty. He showed up right on time. He explained to me problems that could arise and what was and wasn't covered with the current warranty. After speaking with him and weighing my options, it seemed like it was in my best interest to replace the unit. He gave me the option of purchasing it myself or getting it through him and broke down the prices. He also suggested I add a water filtration system. The one he recommended, was the exact one I had installed and then removed a couple years ago because I was having problems with it. I was a little overwhelmed with the cost but felt it was reasonable if I had to replace the whole unit which I had not planned on. He told me to think about it and get back to him with my decision. As Caesar was leaving, I asked him if he could remove the canister for my water filtration system, on the opposite side of the house so I could change the filter. I told him all my pipes were rattling when I flushed the toilet and I thought it was from the filter needing to be replaced. Unfortunately he wasn't able to get the canister off. He suggested I replace the water filtration system as well, replace the regulator valve and move the water heater expansion tank. Now I was completely overwhelmed. As he was standing there explaining things to me, he noticed a yellow handle in the off position. He said it was the gas shut off lever and asked if I had turned off the gas. I told him may have moved the lever a couple days ago when I tried to take off the canister. He turned the lever to the on position and said to check if I now had hot water. I did. He spent well over an hour at my house and never asked for a dime. I think at the very least, anyone else would have charged at least a service charge. Even though he made several recommendations of things I needed to have done, that were not going to be cheap to fix, I feel confident that he is trustworthy. I think I will need to do some of the work he recommended, but now I can do it in my time frame and it will give me a chance to save for the repairs. read more

Had an issue with a toilet, they had a technician come out in Oct of 24, have sent pictures, follow up texts and have just been avoided. I've used this company before for basic plumbing needs and we always felt it was a job well done. Well, recently our outdoor gas fire pit stopped working. I had no clue who to contact, and a fire pit company told me this was a plumber's job. I was surprised, but I called MVP and sure enough they handled the job! The guys that came out Leo and Daniel and the crew were very professional and would recommend things to be replaced or repaired as they were going to make sure it would last for years. I also had them re line the main sewer drain connecting to the street which was done so fast like these guys knew what they were doing. When they came into the house for work and service they would wear masks and put on shoe protectors to keep my floors nice. I got several quotes from different companies for three projects: 1) Figure 5 replacement 2) Main water line replacement 3) Reconfigure dual port to single port hookup to dishwasher/garbage disposal. The quotes involved differences of thousands of dollars. I chose MVP because their analysis and solution was consistent and the most cost effective. I never felt that a 'fishing trip' was needed, leaving the door open to scope creep. It's important to note that yelp provides independant reviews from customers that don't always agree with a vendor's website concerning the same date/service and consequently raises doubts as to the source of the review. Art, the lead plumber, and his crew, including Omar (union solderer), Dillon, and others came a week after we signed the agreement and financing secured through my SchoolsFirst credit Union (not the financing, Syncrony Bank, that MVP offered as part of the deal, denying my application with the lame excuse of already being approved for a 26% credit card that I didn't need). All three projects were completed without any changes to scope or cost in just two days. They used other laborers to move the project along (digging the trench for the main line). The crew worked well together. Plumbing is dirty hard work and without a good chief that's managing things well, it's easy for the quality of service to go downhill should the crew have issues with each other....) Overall I was very happy with the results. Art kept in touch during all phases of the projects, addressing all of my concerns and updating the timeline for completion. He even went that extra mile in personally fixing the air gap hookup in the kitchen, replacing a backyard spigot that a hose had fused to (for an extra union service charge), and cut back some large, exposed roots dug up when laying the main water line. MVP's office supervisor reported they get most of their business through google services, but yelp was my sister's goto source and I was really glad she told me about it. Definitely would use MVP again and recommend them to others. Their price was fair and competitive, analysis and proposal consistent, and updates timely. read more

Not a good experience. Called on Tuesday and was told they will be there on Wednesday. Wednesday was told they were working another job and would come on Thursday. On Thursday was told they couldn't come until Friday. Art came Friday afternoon looked at our dripping faucet and said he didn't have the part and needed to order it. He promised to show on Monday morning. He called in sick on Monday. Discovered part was never ordered. They couldn't get part until Tuesday and wouldn't come until Wednesday. This company is 100% fair and understanding of their customers. We first called MVP back in 2017 for a leaking pipe. They did a great job and explained everything they needed to do step by step. Since we have no attic space they had to cut into our ceiling, but they explained it all and even made the space as small as possible for them to work so that we wouldn't have too much to repair after. Then we had some backup a couple years later. They came out and showed us video on a camera that they sent down our pipe and recommended we put a clean out in front of our house to make any future backups easier to manage. They provided us with a reasonable quote and again walked us through the process step by step. They had to dig up our concrete and replace it once the clean out was installed. Whenever we had a question, they took the time to provide us with clear and precise answers. It wasn't long after that we had to replace our tankless water heater. MVP had the most competitive price and they made sure to inform us of the proper maintenance for the water heater so that we can maximize our purchase. Since then, we have them come out yearly for maintenance and cleaning of the water heater. This past week we had to call MVP out again for backup in our mainline. This time it was roots! It wasn't a pretty sight. The pipe was severely damaged from the roots and MVP recommended a sewer liner. It wasn't cheap, but again MVP offered us the best price and really put us at ease with their thorough discussion of the process and made sure all our questions were answered. As a homeowner these type of issues never come easy, but MVP values their customers and tries their best to put your mind at ease. One more thing...MVP is always on time, always follows up communication with a text or phone call and most importantly, they have a respectable team. read more

He was probably just having a bad day. I called for a quote on a renovation. he started off really nice. We did a major kitchen remodel on our home and were introduced to Caeser and crew. I can't say enough good things about them. They are a top notch operation and every single employee not only was a pleasure to work with but took extra steps to make sure our home was protected. On my recent MAJOR plumbing project, I selected MVP and was completely satisfied with the work, that included follow-up work addressing various issues that popped up Their advice was well thought out and on-point, hence took every recommendation that was suggested. From repiping the water/gas lines throughout the entire house, repairing the pipes to all four faucets (plus pop-ups), installing a waterless heater, sledgehammering to get access to corroded pipes to a clear-out, addressing the kitchen sink faucet dilemma (see precious post) and other work that I can't remember at this time. BEWARE! We had MVP Plumbing re-pipe our home the first week of December 2019. We needed quick service due to a slab. When we met Cesar Avila, the owner, we were very impressed with his professionalism and felt we had found the right company to perform the work. The re-piping work was conducted as expected but during the course of the project, workers damaged our kitchen ceiling, creating a sag and crack in the drywall. When Cesar was shown the damage he didn't hesitate to say he would take care of it. Repair required replacing a large section of drywall and removing and reinstalling the recessed lighting. This is when the dishonesty began. At first Cesar said he was trying to coordinate the work to get it all done within a day or two. We discussed the drywall contractor and electrician to use and Cesar spoke to both of these professionals but did nothing to schedule the work. When we tried to follow-up with him directly, he stopped taking our calls. We obtained drywall and electrical quotes and emailed the information to him. When we inquired, we were told via his office staff that the quotes were ok. Late January the work was scheduled by us and completed the first week of February. We had to pay the electrician directly. In seeking reimbursement for us and payment for the drywall contractor, we placed numerous calls to Cesar's office. Never would he return our calls directly. We heard only through his office staff and we heard nothing unless we placed a call. The office staff always had to check with Cesar and we were told on numerous occasions: "The checks will be mailed at the end of the week." No. We could not pick them up because "they had no checks at the office;" and, "The checks will be mailed at the end of the month." It's now well into April and we, nor the the drywall contractor, has received payment/reimbursement for the work performed to repair the damaged caused by MVP workers during the re-piping. Never did Cesar deny that his staff caused the damage. But he bold-face-lied to us that he would take care of the repairs. His actions demonstrate to us that he never had any intention of paying for repair of the damage. This is NOT a company to rely on. Errors and accidents to happen during construction projects. Do you really want to use a company who will lie to you and not take financial responsibility for their mistakes? We highly recommend you AVOID ever calling MVP Plumbing; seek an ethical plumbing contractor you can count on to keep their word. read more
