After several leaks, including 2 under the slab, I decided to follow the wisdom of a my neighbors and hire Miguel to re-plumb my home. The thought of such a major project worried me but after one chat with Miguel I felt at ease. He is easy to talk to and it's immediately evident that he is honest and knows his trade. The project took 2 days total, one to repipe and another to patch the holes. In the end, the house was back together in a way that it's not really apparent that there were a lot of holes in the ceilings and walls. Never thought I would need a repipe, with copper pipes in my house not even 35 years old. But one morning I heard the dreaded sound that struck fear in my heart. Some water running sound in the wall by the kitchen, when everything is off?! Supposedly even a small slab leak "trumpets" the sound up the pipes for sensitive (OCD?) folks like me to hear water running. Lucky I caught the sound on the first morning it started. Quickly spent countless hours reading and learning about slab leaks. One plumber said they can fix the leak by locating the leaking pipe and either break the slab to fix, or reroute that pipe to bypass the leaking point. Basically sounded like a partial repipe, except you leave all other pipes to an unknown fate? No way I can relax in my house knowing other copper pipes can leak too. I quickly decided to repipe the whole house for peace of mind. Read through so many plumbers and repipe companies on Yelp, and connecting the dots after digesting all the reviews led me to Repipe Top Team. Even without too many reviews, the reviews that existed gave me confidence this was the one. Called Mr. Miguel to come check out my house. He is super professional, very sharp, and humble yet confident. Quickly noted all the plumbing terminations and surveyed the house. It did not take long, and he promised to send an estimate the next day. Once the project proposal arrived in the email, the decision was crystal clear. The proposal had so much details on exactly what will be done, it was organized so well that I was blown away. It was better than an engineering course lab report! Repipe Top Team is not messing around, they only use the best products to match their great work to guarantee a great outcome. In case you're wondering, they use Uponor Pex A, Dahl angle stops, Moen shower valves with integral stops, etc. They will repipe your entire house, and then patch up all the holes cut in your walls/ceilings/stucco. A turnkey project, except they do not handle the painting. I did not need to get quotes from other companies as I had read about typical costs online, I knew the Repipe Top Team price was very fair. Normal turn around is 1 day to repipe. 1 day to patch. I opted for the city permit, not sure if it was worth the trouble of doubling the # of days to be done. All city did was just a quick walk around. Only problem I had was, I had to wait 2 long weeks to be my turn! (when you are good, you are in demand I guess) I had a light bulb moment after a week. 80~90% of slab leaks are the hot pipe, not the cold. Why shut off the entire house and be inconvenienced with no water for toilet/washing hands. If it's the hot pipe, can just shut off the valve to the water heater!!! It worked initially, but my shut off for water heater was defective and it did not fully shutoff and still flowed very slightly. But if you have a slab leak, hopefully your water heater shutoff is good and you can have an easier wait (only turn on water heater before you need the hot water, i.e. for shower, then shut it off again) Believe me it was a long~~~ and anxiety filled times for sure. Gave me plenty of time to clear garage and cover what I could lol. But the day did arrive in 2025, hallelujah! Crew of 6 including Mr. Miguel arrived and they spent the first ~2 hours! just covering and taping up everything to minimize mess in the house or even the garage. During which time they also brainstormed how to most efficiently repipe the house. Then things exploded into activity with cutting, drilling, and all the hard work of repiping inside the house, new house water main, breaking stucco, etc.. I wasn't sure they were going to finish the same day since sun sets early and all, but they had all things connected and water turned on by the end of the day to have fully functional plumbing before they left! And all the covering prep they did on walls and floors, there wasn't even much clean up as I had feared! Absolutely wonderful work! Cutting of walls/ceilings was minimized, they were able to reach all the bathroom and kitchen ends from the most creative routes, just amazing... And then the patching day. Just as fantastic as the repipe day. Crew of 3 arrived and same protocol, again did so much prep work covering everything, before doing their magic on patching the holes, smoothing over, and then the incredible texturing! Perfectly fixed stucco holes too. The textures got whiter as it dried and after 2 or 3 days, the garage textures blended in so well I am not even going to paint the garage patches! Nor the walls under sink. I just need to paint the few colored walls at my leisure, but feel absolutely no rush anymore since things are patched up so nicely... My sanity has been returning back ever since! Mr. Miguel truly is the "Top Team", he will surely grow from word of mouth. Amazing people doing amazing work, what a blessed company. We recently hired Repipe Top Team to replace a main water line and 1960s galvanized plumbing due to a main line water leak. I appreciated Miguel's attention to detail during the quote and suggestion to save money by relocating the main water line to avoid trenching through/under our driveway where the existing main water line was. We received a total of 5 quotes from various companies, and Repipe Top Team's price was in line with most of them, but the attention to detail in the quote was above and beyond the other companies. After hiring Repipe Top Team, Miguel was able to install a temporary main water line to bypass the leaking line while we waited for environmental testing and asbestos abatement. Miguel was the only contractor we received quotes from that required environmental testing for our old house. While it was a hassle, Miguel cares about the health and safety of his crew. On our scheduled date for the repipe project, Miguel and his crew showed up on time and were extremely professional. I was surprised at how many crew members were there, but they were able to complete the main water line and plumbing replacement within a single day. The team also performed some sewer line replacements under our sinks due to their age and was able to combine our laundry valves and drain into a single wall box. Miguel was accommodating to other requests, such as adding a stub out for a future sprinker system. Once the inspections were completed, a second crew came to patch the drywall and exterior stucco. We did have some issues with leaking/cracked P-traps under the sinks, but Miguel stood by his team's work and replaced them until they stopped leaking. Miguel refused to take payment until we were satisfied with the entire project. Throughout the entire process, Miguel's communication was prompt and detailed, and his crew performed quality work on the repipe project. I don't think that I can say enough good things about Miguel and his team at Repipe Top Team. Miguel is very professional. He did everything that he said he would do. We had some leaks in our existing copper piping. I called out Miguel to take a look and give me a quote. He crawled under the house and identified several problems with our pipes. He gave me a quote and we settled on a day to do the work. On the day scheduled for the work, his crew showed up early and ready to work. The first thing they did was put cloth runners on the floor throughout the house. Then they covered those runners in plastic sheeting. After that they started hanging plastic from the ceiling all through the house to protect our walls and furniture. Then the started removing our old copper pipe. I could see the problems that Miguel identified earlier when he crawled under the house. The also cut access holes in the drywall where necessary to replace the pipes. Then they started putting in the new copper pipe. These guys know what they are doing. The solder joints not only don't leak, they look almost perfect. They also take the extra step to clean off the flux from each solder joint with Simple Green. Miguel told me that this prevents corrosion problems in the future. When they were done putting in the new pipe, they patched all the holes in the walls. This too was a professional job. The walls looked like before that came less the paint. When they were done with all their work they cleaned up and took down all the plastic. It was like they were never here. The house wasn't dusty or anything!! They cleaned up outsized as well. Everything was done in one day!! It has been a couple of weeks since Miguel and his team were here. There are no problems with anything they did. Miguel and his crew did a fantastic job repiping all of our water supply pipes with Uponor pex (2.5 bathroom + kitchen/laundry), replacing our hose bibs & a shower head, as well as repairing the damaged drywall / stucco. Even our city inspector admired their plumbing work. I highly recommend them. One month ago I had my biggest nightmare so far as a home owner - the ghostly sound of water moving through the pipes with no faucets open. Through experimentation I isolated the leak to a hot water pipe. The worst news came from a leak finder service -the leak was in the concrete slab. All options were bad - reroute one pipe through several rooms/outside, break open the floor and jackhammer the foundation, or reroute all of our pipes. Our house is only 30 years old and has all copper pipes but, given there had been a previous leak in our home as well as our neighbor's identical home, we decided to go with a whole home repiping. I got 5 quotes for repiping and I chose Miguel because: - High attention to detail, such as finding pipe routes / other small details that would minimize home damage and determining supplies and methods used (pipes, pipe sizing, connectors, hose bibs) that would set us up well for the long term. He backs this up with a lifetime workmanship guarantee. - Easiest to communicate with. - Could get it done sooner (~1 week after contract signing) than other crews. - Has his own skilled crew of licensed plumbers, doesn't subcontract. IMO, when you're doing major house surgery, you have to trust the person you're working with as you just can't be on top of 100% of what's happening. Miguel wasn't the cheapest quote, but there were good reasons for that and he worked with me on the price. For the job itself, Miguel was there every day. It took 2 days (day 1 repiping, day 2 drywall) as well as a couple of small visits for permits. The pictures below show the care Miguel & team took with my home (see the ET-like covering of everything with plastic), the quality supplies they used, as well as the excellence of the finished job both in plumbing and drywall. The city inspector was pleased with the work and signed off immediately. All of my water fixtures are now working perfectly and the drywall is an exact match for the texture of the existing walls. These guys don't screw around. As a perfectionistic engineer I am always scrutinizing every detail and I am forever cursed with noticing the little things that go wrong, no matter how small they may be. Miguel and his team absolutely crushed it: they repiped our 3 bed 2 bath house in 5 hours and the extreme quality of workmanship impressed me to a degree that few professionals I've worked with have achieved. Repiping is not the prettiest job you'll undertake as a homeowner. There is no way to magically route pipes throughout your house without opening some walls to gain access and making a mess while doing it. However Miguel and his team did an incredible job of protecting our belongings from getting dirty and minimized the drywall cuts needed to gain access to the requisite fixtures. The drywallers they work with are excellent and left our walls in the same condition as before. Yes, you will have to repaint the affected areas but I challenge you to find another business in SoCal that can replumb your entire house and repair your walls in such outstanding condition. Most of the companies that do repipes don't even repair the drywall they remove or they hire the cheapest labor to patch up the job. Long story short the job was completed in record time with a high degree of workmanship and minimal mess. Any minor concerns I had were immediately addressed and Miguel was very communicative throughout the process. I met Miguel through a friend who had her whole Beverly Hills apartment building re-piped. I'm a realtor so I often rely contacts like Miguel. I called him and he answered his phone. No voicemail, but a live call. He came out the next day with his crew. He provided me a quote. I bid out a project for a property. He was not the least expensive and not the most either. These guys are amazing. I noticed a leak in our pipes for our Backhouse and called to have them check it out. They showed up same day and were able to stop the leak right away.
