Have been here a couple of times now, and arguably my favorite place in Sacramento to grab KBBQ. The combination of sushi and KBBQ is a match made in heaven for me, personally. The fact that there's both hand rolls and sashimi is awesome. It's great to have that, in addition to the KBBQ options. The fact that you can get a decent amount per round also makes it even better. The amount of options you can get per round makes me a happy camper, you won't be left thinking that there's too much time in between bites. Service is great too, constantly checking. As of now, arguably my favorite in the area.

What a great combo when you're craving both BBQ and sushi, especially at a solid value of $39.99 (as of April 2026)! Cute cow statue out front and vibes that reminded me of a budget-friendly version of a Chubby Group spot. Order unlimited number of times within 90 minutes by flagging down your server. Adrian was our temporary server, and you could immediately feel his energy... attentive, helpful, and genuinely engaged. When our regular server returned from break, it was a 180... she didn't introduce herself nor regularly check-in if we wanted to order more, and the contrast was noticeable; the service energy just wasn't the same. Food wise, items were hit or miss. ==HITS== I really liked the self-serve bar for salad, and there were also melona bars for dessert, one per customer! The handrolls were very generous with avocado (almost a bit too much that I had to deconstruct them to eat it). The truffle carpaccio was excellent and easily one of my favorite dish, along with Kobe beef. The salmon carpaccio with unagi sauce was rich. I'm really glad I tried the pepper rice last minute, reminds me of Pepper Lunch. The server recommended it as a shareable dish for two, but I ended up finishing the WHOLE thing mmm! Served on a sizzling skillet and mixed tableside, it was such a delight. Must order! ==MISSES== Unfortunately, a few of my favorite (and popular) sides were unavailable... Fish cake and bean sprouts. I expected classic wonton-style chips for ahi tuna chips, but they came on thick, nacho-like baseball game chips. Brisket was on the leaner side and a bit chewy. The steamed egg was a bit bland.

LP 4/25/26 Parking 5/5 Restaurant 5/5 Clean, great seatings, love the decorations and layout Service 5/5 clean staff, super friendly and attentive. Ambiance 5/5 great music, vibes and food Bathroom 5/5 smells great, soap sensor but not the water part , but paper towel is. (Ladies restroom was a little messy w/ TP on the ground ‍) I'm not sure how often someone checks but anywho I believe that grown adults should be able to pick up after themselves The moment you walk in you're in "aweeeee." Super cute theme and decor throughout the entire restaurant. A lot of thought has been put into this new place that used to be a pizza parlor I believed. I've waited for this place to open up and once it did I had a chance until recently. I am so glad that I have dropped in to gain the experience. I love the concept of the seaweed taco like rolls instead of the round ones which I feel not too much carb and you have options to try all the other rolls they have to offer. (Downsize is a lot of raw options for those who don't consume raw but cooked only). But hey I took it and put it on the grill Lots of meet options and if you're a vegetarian I would recommend you to look elsewhere. Pescatarian has a lots of raw options but for the grill it's only a few. (Recommended ordering raw fish and putting it in the grill) You're welcome. Overall my dinning experience 5/5 and I'm taking all my meet lovers there. So prepare to make extra room in the empty belly and you have 90 minutes to load up to become as big as a "COW." Just like the theme

Meat and sushi were really fresh. Sushi comes in hand rolls which was awesome and easy to eat. My server Alexis was wonderful and helpful. All the food was good quality. Wish they have a Yelp Check in or the ability to add yourself to the waitlist. Bonchon's were limited and keeps having to ask for more lettuce was a little tire some. Overall still a good experience would come back again.

The food was all so amazing. We tried to order at least one of most items on the menu. Our server, Tyler, was fantastic! He checked up on us and took our order very often, guided us through the menu, and was incredibly knowledgeable about the food. The restaurant itself is spacious, and super adorable waiting area. The big cow with the sashimi and kaws statues were so cute, and the restaurant is super lively and well-lit. We were a party of 8, and the table only came with one grill in the middle. But the grill was like industrial iron pan grill, so it cooked the meat so well. The stars of the show were definitely the salmon carpaccio and their beef items. Their beef was juicy and well marinated. The salmon was just as delicious and smooth, and the sauce had hints of sweetness. Appetizers, beers, pepper plate, and desserts were also super delicious! I liked their kimchi tofu soup, however it felt like it was lacking an extra flavor.. probably needed some more sesame oil. And the fact they carried purple rice was the cherry on top, I love purple rice! And I enjoyed the side dish buffet bar and their ice cream fridge! They had a whole variety of different classic melona bars and ice cream cups.

4.18.26 Family dinner at Must Be Cow AYCE! Checkin at kiosk, text message to track status. Our family enjoyed the sushi and Korean bbq options. They have an array of options for $40/pp. My boys love that they have sashimi and hand roll options. We ordered a bunch of sushi appetizers and regular appetizers to start. Carpaccio options were yum, boys ordered 3 rounds. All options are sliced thin. Boys loved Takoyaki too! We ordered Galbi, pork jowl (cheeks), brisket and Kobe to grill along with mushroom, zucchini and onions. We tried one of each dessert. Red bean filled sesame balls was my fave. Comes out warm. My son liked the brown sugar rice cakes. They also have ice cream available and 1 melona bar per person. All and all a solid dinner option for us that will get mixed in monthly! Service was by Tyler was great,

Great Korean BBQ spot in town! Parking: free plenty, but get crowded easily. There's some nearby parking complex for overflow. Wait-time: we went on weekends dinner, but didn't wait that long (only around 10 min) for group of 12 people for 2 tables. Each table comfortably sit 6 people. Restroom: clean decent Your party (in same table) will order same package. I would say their meats are good quality. Along with bibimbap, sushi rolls, chicken wings, etc. There is a table for all condiments. At the end, you can get ice cream of your choice from the fridge in the middle corner, next to condiments table. Service: decent. Only take 2 credit cards per table.

Came with a large group. They have a gold and silver menu. Our group wanted to eat galbi which is not on the silver menu so we opted for the gold which is $39.99 pp vs $28.99 pp. The sashimi slices were paper thin. You could barely taste the fish. There were larger, thicker slices on the hand rolls which were good. I like they have the choice of kbbq and sushi. The flavors of the hand rolls and meats were good. Service was great and our group enjoyed our food

    Lena T.

Came here to try it after hearing a lot about it. They only offer the gold menu on weekends. We were seated in a booth which was nice for the privacy but it's a bit annoying to have to slide in and out. The kbbq meat quality is okay overall but there was nothing special. Even their kobe beef tasted pretty average to me. The fish quality was pretty good. Some types of fish were definitely fresher than others though. The hand rolls gave a decent amount of fish and were overall good. They have a lot of appetizer options which was nice. Servers were kind and good about putting in our orders. Only problem was when we were ready for the bill our server was no where to be found for over 15 minutes, not sure if they were on break or a shift change. We ended up just pulling a different worker to pay. Overall a decent place but I think at the price you pay you can get better kbbq meat quality. It is also a bit of a strange combo to eat both kbbq and sushi at once so don't think it's worth the extra for sushi

I just went to Must Be Cow and I'm honestly really impressed. Food: The food was so good. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor, and the meat was cooked perfectly super juicy and tender. You can tell they actually care about the quality, which I really appreciate. Ambience: The vibe is really nice. It's clean, modern, and just feels good to be in. Not too fancy, not too casual just the perfect balance whether you're with friends or on a date. Staff: What really stood out to me was the service, especially the manager Andy. He was so nice and friendly and made us feel really welcomed. You can tell he genuinely cares about the customers, and that kind of energy makes a big difference. The rest of the staff was great too super attentive and kind. Also, I just want to say we're really grateful to the owner Jason for opening a spot like this in Sacramento. It's honestly such a great addition to the area. Definitely coming back again.

This was my first time having Must Be Cow and I was recommended it heavily by my family and it did not disappoint. I went on a Sunday evening and it was a little busy. I would expect a bit of a wait for a table on the weekends, especially for dinner. However the inside was very spacious, have lots of seating so I believe they did their best to accommodate. This was an all you can eat restaurant and they had a great selection with amazing quality. The price per person is worth it if you are looking for quality. I was able to try almost everything on the menu and I would strongly recommend the beef cuts and sashimi. It was so good and fresh. The appetizers were great too, although it was on the larger side so make sure you go with a large party or come with a big appetite. For how busy it was, I was impressed on how well the servers did on keeping up and being able to help us whenever we needed. Overall great experience and I will be back soon!

We arrived around 5 p.m. and were one of just a few parties seated, so it was quiet and relaxed. The first thing we noticed was how beautifully decorated it was inside. Like others have mentioned, the exterior might not catch your eye right away, but once you step in, it's vibrant and welcoming. Our server was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. We ordered the sashimi nigiri plate, agedashi tofu, and an eel roll (I can't remember the exact name). Every dish was excellent -- the fish was incredibly fresh, and the agedashi sauce was bursting with flavor. Honestly, it's the best agedashi tofu we've had so far! We were too hungry to snap photos this time, but I'll definitely add some on our next visit. Highly recommend checking out Akira Sushi if you're in the area -- great food, warm service, and such a pleasant surprise overall.

Sushi Star is in a little strip mall behind a Walgreens and located a few doors down from Corner Pocket, which is likely why they stay open to 10pm on weekends. A section of the menu is labeled "Vegetarian Rolls" but most of them are actually vegan. There's also a few veggie appetizer standards: edamame, seaweed salad, sunomono. They also have inari. The seaweed salad was an actual salad... it came served on a bed of spring greens. I liked it. We also tried the AAC (avocado, asparagus, cucumber) and Veggie Rolls. Both were good, but the Veggie Roll was modified to what was actually listed on the menu. It was still tasty though. I liked how the veggie rolls come sauceless by default so I don't have to ask for them to be removed to keep it vegan. Basic = easy. Service was average here, so all in all I would come back when I'm looking for another quick bite of vegan sushi and don't feel like making it myself.
