Cucumber roll

My siblings introduced me to Sake about a month ago, and we have been there almost every Friday night since. I think it would be an understatement to say we are addicted to Sake. First off, who doesn't like and all you can eat sushi in Japanese spot? If you are one of these people, then we can't be friends. There are quite a few good all you can eat sushi in Japanese restaurants in Sacramento, but in my current experience Sake has been the best. Let's start with the food quality. Each dish is made to order so it hasn't been sitting around a buffet table exposed to the elements. We have tried almost every item on the menu, including hibachi, nigiri, rolls, sashimi, rice, noodles and a plethora of appetizers. Our favorites have been the smoked salmon nigiri, seared pepper tuna and salmon carpaccio, hamachi, and salmon, kama, grilled short ribs, shrimp fried rice, and agedashi tofu. I could go on and on, but you have to experience for yourself to truly appreciate the quality of their food. Next, let's talk about service. It doesn't matter what time we come whether it's early brunch or it's the middle of the dinner rush on Friday the service has always been exceptional. The staff are attentive and accommodating. We never have to wait for anything. Our drinks are refilled throughout our meal. Empty plates are bussed very quickly. Lastly, let's talk about the price. Unlike other restaurants where they have different tiers, sake is all inclusive in one price. You can order what you want without wondering if it's included.

Salmon, Seared Salmon and Tuna sashimi

For an AYCE spot, this place was great. One of the larger options for sushi while offering half portions. Tuna was ok but the Salmon was like butter. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

Sashimi

The Japanese cuisine here is absolutely delicious, and the sashimi is incredibly fresh. The staff are very friendly. This is my fourth visit, and I will definitely keep coming back.

I honestly wasn't expecting AYCE sushi to be this good--but Sake AYCE Sushi completely overdelivered. The quality and freshness of the fish were impressive. Service was top-notch; the servers worked seamlessly as a team and were always helping one another, which really stood out. The hot food came out hot and fast, which is a huge plus. I've never seen AYCE offer add-ons like amaebi and uni, and both were excellent quality--not the cheap stuff. Yes, it's a little extra, but absolutely worth it for true sushi-grade amaebi and uni on the side. I only wish they offered raw oysters. Other than that, this is an incredible value for AYCE sushi. I also love that they have a Yelp waitlist option--super convenient. I'll definitely be back for more.

For AYCE sushi at $35 per person, the price is okay. It's reasonable, but I don't think it's super worth it unless you really focus on ordering lots of nigiri and sashimi for a few rounds. The menu also includes special rolls, maki and hand rolls, appetizers, hibachi, salads, and stir fry. The appetizers were pretty basic and nothing really stood out. I skipped the stir fry rice and noodles altogether. I did try some shrimp from the hibachi and it was fine, nothing special, but it had decent flavor. Also includes ice cream. I had green tea flavor. Looks like it's pre scooped and melted while it was being prepped, then stuck back into the freezer to serve later... The hand rolls were very different from what I'm used to. They're more like mini tacos. I didn't mind the switch-up, but the filling falls out easily when you take a bite. I also had the miso soup and it was bland and lacked flavor. I definitely made the most of the nigiri and sashimi, and the fish quality was decent. The seared salmon was my favorite. I loved the smoky flavor. The employees were all super nice and worked fast and efficiently. Service was straightforward and smooth. There's no limit on how much you can order each round, so pacing yourself is key. It was also nice watching the sushi chefs in action. The restaurant had a very chill vibe and made for a relaxing dinner. It was busy but manageable, with no crazy rush or long wait. There's a big parking lot and lots of nearby shopping too, which is perfect for walking off the meal afterward. I'd go again for a cheap eats sushi.

Came here on a Saturday evening for AYCE sushi ($35.99) and wow - this place absolutely delivered. From the first round to the very last bite of mochi, everything hit exactly the way you hope an AYCE spot will. The sushi was super fresh, not rushed or sloppy, and the hot items like the deep-fried jalapeños and tempura came out perfectly crispy and hot every time. No sad, lukewarm plates here. And don't sleep on dessert - ending the meal with unlimited mochi was the perfect finale. Freezing cold, creamy, and refreshing after all that sushi. What really sets this place apart is how efficient and well-run it is. Orders are placed on upgraded tablets, which makes it easy to pace yourself and not miss anything. The manager was an absolute riot - high energy, on top of everything, and kept the whole place moving like a well-oiled machine. The support staff deserves major props too: plates cleared quickly, drinks always topped off, and no awkward waiting around. Fair warning: this place gets busy, and for good reason, so plan accordingly and expect a wait during peak times. I've tried plenty of AYCE sushi spots and while many are good, this one is next-level greatness. I was honestly a little skeptical before arriving, but I'm so glad I was proven wrong. I'll 100% be back. Thank you, Sake Sushi team - keep doing what you're doing!

I have already came back twice. The food is pretty on point for an ayce place and I love that you can get sashimi and nigiri without unlocking another menu tier price. Service is quick and the people are nice. Their fish taste fresh and the presentation is still pretty solid and they put love into it. Restaurant has large booths and tables to combine for big parties but it's a little too dark in here for nice lighting for my food pic. Haha not a biggy.

Pammy C.

Never realized this AYCE sushi restaurant existed! It was busy on a Saturday night but for our party of 7, we were seated rather quickly. The restaurant was very loud (there was a big party that night); however, our waitress did a great job hearing all our orders. Unfortunately I can't remember everything we ordered - from agadashi tofu to tokyaki to sushi to sashimi, everything was delicious! The food came out perfect and pretty fast. Looking forward to coming back again.

Holiday shopping is tiring but glad we found Sake! This is an all you can eat spot on the weekends and if you're tired and hungry, this place is a great place to eat!! They have their own parking but you can also park on the shopping center side. Service folks are attentive and quick!! Food is good and price is affordable. For an all you can eat spot, I would go here all the time if it was closer!

Sunday afternoon and it was practically empty! Adding in 1 uni nigiri was only $3 more, what a bargain. I loved the beef short ribs. They always came out piping hot. The ikura was seasoned well and the unagi was not overly sweet with sauce. Great quality fish and so affordable, $35 for ayce is like pricing from the early 2000s!

Jenny Y.

This place is decent for the price. I didn't try the sushi, but my husband and nephew liked it. The fish look fresh and the cuts were big. The cream cheese wontons were great lol! Chicken wings are good too. We were getting our orders pretty fast but as soon as it got busy, it took a while to get our orders of course. I'd come back soon...especially for the cream cheese wontons lol.

The food was really good! Fish was super fresh and lots of flavor in the sushi rolls they make! The staff were sweet and made sure we had everything. The place was very clean and well kept will be coming back!!

Sou L.

Excited to try a new AYCE restaurant in the Target shopping center! The place is quaint and wasn't busy when we arrived for dinner. We ordered a few sashimi, a few rolls , fried soft shell crab, miso soup, and hamachi Kama. Everything was pretty bland. It took nearly an hour for the hamachi Kama to be served. Candidly, that was the only good thing they served. The staff were nice!

This was easily the worst sushi I have ever been served…read more I previously worked as a sushi restaurant supervisor and have eaten sushi extensively, including in Tokyo, so I don't say this lightly. I visited on a weekend afternoon and was the only customer in the restaurant, with just one chef and one server present. I ordered a torched roll. I could hear the torch being applied for several seconds, and when the plate arrived the rice was literally blackened and crunchy from being burned. The albacore on top was stiff and overcooked, the sauce was excessive, and the shrimp tempura inside was soggy. Every component was mishandled -- from ingredient freshness to execution -- and after two bites I felt sick and could not continue eating it. I considered asking for a replacement, but the chef left the restaurant immediately after serving the dish. The server was polite and understanding when I explained I couldn't eat the food, and I left without ordering anything else. I have given this restaurant multiple chances and this was the final one. With several other sushi restaurants nearby, I strongly recommend choosing elsewhere.

Its not a budget Sushi... 4 pieces in a roll or so. Service: Over attentive wait staff at times.... you kinda have to seek this place out, so they are over eager at the table when someone arives. Ambiance: very well designed and decorated... I go there for casual dates, lunch and dinner, but I could see it dressed up for prom/valentines etc if they chose to go that way (white or black linen) biggest complaint, get rid of the TVs... this is not a sports bar. Summary: Great food, but an identity crissis. Really bad location (visibility). Update Dec 2025: I think they changed owners (help wanted signs and new B/W menu with no photos). Last time I was there the food really suffered. Baked clams were tough and over cooked; My "date" picked the rice off the roll to get the protein. They did not offer to comp the clams although I only ate one. And just as a point... they overlooked our Military Discount even though she was in uniform and on her lunch hour. I dont really care about a discount, but it speaks to lack of attention to the patrons. I want to give it one more try, just to be fair.

I'd never been here before but my husband was picking up pizza across the street and this was nearest location. My first impression on a quick stop Friday night. Restaurant is small but clean and modern. They were REALLY busy but friendly and my roll was ready by the time I got there. I asked for soy sauce and wasabi, they had already put it all in the bag. Good customer service. When I got to my destination, sat down and finally opened the box, I was surprised at the size of the roll. I ordered the Machu Pichu and it had a good combo of seafood so I expected a larger roll. It is also priced at $25 so there's that for expectation. I do realize price of food has gone up a lot, I was still taken back a bit. The roll was really good though. Machu Pichu- Tempura shrimp and spicy tuna in the roll. Spicy tuna didn't have the kick, I couldn't tell it apart from the other ingredients. It was supposed to be topped with avocado but didn't have any as you can see in the pictures. It did have a good amount of snow crab mix. Half the roll was topped with salmon, the other half with tuna but it looked fresh, not seared. Also, I didn't know they would be divided. The description implies the entire roll having each of the ingredients listed. Other than that, it did have the creamy and unagi sauces, the leeks, marsh and salad. Overall it was fresh and good. It just wasn't what I was expecting nor was what I thought it would be for a $25 roll. I was so hungry and didn't dine in so I let it go.. plus that amazing flavor of wasabi and soy sauce met enough of what I was looking forward to tasting with the other ingredients. I got the Inari for my toddler. It was good but also $8 for the two halves. Maybe I've been hiding under a rock but that's pricy for 2 tbsp of rice with tofu wrap. Would I go back? Haven't decided. I'm sure if I had dined in, these details would have been corrected. Overall it was good.. there was just a lot missing for me in this first time experience. If I do, I will definitely update.

When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated by a very sweet young lady named Violet who ended up also being our server. The inside was clean, with a wall of TVs that formed one large screen, lights on the walls, and they had pink heart balloons all throughout for the holiday. We had already picked the items we were interested in beforehand, and Violet let us immediately order. We got the Hamachi Kama, the Shrimp Daddy, The Northen Lights Wrap, 2 small bowls of miso soup, the BBQ Albacore, the House Wife Special Roll and the Philly Cheesesteak Roll. EVERYTHING tasted SUPER FRESH and incredibly delicious! We HIGHLY recommend the Shrimp Daddy and the Northern Lights Wrap, but honestly you can't go wrong with any of the items we selected. Violet was VERY professional, personable, and tentative and took great care of us. The other server, Gayane, was also very sweet and came over and gave my wife a miniature chocolate cake (made by a local bakery called Heavenly Pasteries) as a Mother's Day treat. Then at one point, Chef Maguro walked around and checked in with every customer and stopped at our table for a chat. Maguro was such an incredibly cool and talented guy. He told us he's been a sushi chef for about 28 years, and it shows. He's also responsible for all the delicious looking pictures on their website and in the restaurant. Not totally sure if Chef Maguro made ALL of our food, so we need to also shout out Chef Henry as well. This place is excellent! The food was super tasty, and the people working there really sold the experience. Thank you for being a wonderful server, Violet! Someone give this woman a raise!
