07.08.2026 - KABAYAN - FOLSOM, CA - went to get some official paperwork done and this place was only 10 mins away. Why not? I miss my Mom's food and most home recipes are made at least four people. I had to stop by and try it. I got their two combo plate and a side order of their lumpia. My combo I ordered pancit only (you can do half/half steamed rice if you like), Guisantes and Pork Sinigang soup. Oh man I miss it so much! It was last minute add on with the lumpia. I was too full so I had to take my lumpia to go. What a pleasant experience. The pancit is so good. It was a mix of bihon noodles and bits of canton noodles. Guisantes so yummy. The meat was tender and the Pork Sinigang had the perfect sourness in the broth. A good ratio of vegetables and pork. Love it! I definitely recommend this place. #filipinofood

Clean and inviting dining area. Tasty BBQs and dishes. Delicious desserts. Friendly and fast services. We will definitely return even though it's an hour drive.

Shoutout to Folsom, CA. Kabayan! This is a super worthy shout out. Kabayan is Filipino casual counter service eatery serving up some darn tasty food. I'm not well versed in Filipino cuisine, but I got working tastebuds and I like what I like. I meandered into the eatery on a recent weekend mid-afternoon. The tables were filled with happy folks enjoying their meals with a line of folks waiting for an open table; that's always a good indicator. I decided to order to go. The owner was cashiering. She was super helpful and engaging. Big smile. I ordered the two item combo $13.99 that comes with rice and pancit. The pancit was classic with all the familiar flavors. Ginisang Pusit. Squid. Soooo good! I never had this dish before. The squid was super tender, not mushy nor rubbery. Perfect tenderness... how did they do that?!? It had a sweetness and slight spiciness. Spiciness without the heat, but packing a bunch of flavor. I'm still thinking about that dish. Pork Kare Kare. It was served with a side of fermented shrimp paste. Not a lot of restaurants provide that shrimp paste, so I was stoked even if it was a smallish portion. The paste was a perfect compliment of saltiness to the creamy peanut butter sauce. Yup, PB gravy sauce. They also sell imported Filipino packaged snacks and pantry items. Plus they sell halo halo. I saw folks with gorgeously delicious looking halo halo. Colorful layers of shaved ice, ice cream, and toppings. The eatery is not particular large, so when it's a full house, it gets crowded cozy.

There won't be a necessary arduous journey driving to Seafood City located in Elk Grove CA anymore . . . Bakit=Why? Kabayan~lol! Maraming Salamat, Po!

Great to have a Filipino food place in Folsom! There was plenty of parking available and reasonable wait for a Sunday lunch time. I went for the three item combo plate with half bihon and half rice from the hot foods display. The three items I chose were the barbecue chicken skewer, barbecue pork skewer, and sisig. The sisig had more of a stew texture that most sisigs I have tried, but was still tasty. It was not spicy though which was a bit disappointing for me. The barbecue skewers were solid. The bihon was average but I would choose it as part of a combo again. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant is on the small side but there are some table and chairs available. There are also Filipino snacks for sale. I'll be back to try some of the other dishes!

I came here for lunch and had a very delicious meal. I got a two item plate with bbq pork and sinigang. For your base, you can get rice, pancit, or both. Auntie packed my plate with pancit and I can get full from just that. The pork skewers are sweet and salty, and the sinigang was sour and fresh. Both dishes were very good, I'm excited to go back and try their other dishes. You can also sample the dishes too. I finished my meal with a halo halo which was $10. One of the best halo halo I've had!

This restaurant & mini market is located near Raley's on East Bidwell. Their menu is different every day. They have combo meal in which you can choose the protein that you like. Follow their facebook page to see their daily menu. The service is always friendly and with smile. - Pancit: the noodle was good and well seasoned. It was cooked perfectly and still had firmness - Adobong pusit (Squid): my favorite Filipino dish and it was tasty. The squid was tender and each piece was big. The sauce was a tad too salty for me. - Pork sisig: delicious! They had the perfect balance of meat and fat. The dish was well seasoned. However, I wish that they included more onion pieces. - Pork ribs sinigang: good. The pork ribs meat was super tender. The broth was refreshing and tasty. However, I wish that the broth was a little more sour and the soup had more vegetables. - Chicken inasal: chicken was tender and flavorful. The chicken pieces were quite generous. - Kare kare: good creamy gravy (but I wish the peanut flavor is more prominent). The meat pieces were tender & the vegetable was fresh

OMGeee! Not only does this place serve food, it's like a mini market. I haven't had some of these snacks in forever. There's nothing out here that I know of except one other Filipino restaurant. But to get groceries... that's another story. Seeing this brought so much joy. They also have sweet treats made like bika, puto, etc. Food: Okay, so I read the bad review and I don't know what they're talking about. The food was good! I had the dinuguan and bbq skewer with rice. So yummy and the portions were good too. I also tried their sago (think Filipino boba) and I can't believe I've never had this before, so good! Service: It was a little busy, there were 3 people ahead of me. I was greeted though. Even with being busy, they were nice. I even got the suggestion about trying the sago because I asked what that was from another customer. Ambiance: So here's where I think people will disagree with me. With Folsom being Folsom, it's basic. But here's the thing, if you're Filipino it feels a bit like home. You may go in there thinking it looks like a cafeteria. But for me, it brought me back to the days where I'd go shopping with my Mom. There's enough seating. But if the ambiance isn't your vibe, just take the food to go. ‍

They are so friendly. This is my second time there there's lots of parking every time I've been there. I've had something new. Everything is good. I've had the screws and barbecue short ribs right here. I'm not sure what the name of it pork belly but this is so good.

I ordered these trays from their catering menu. The lumpias were perfectly fried with a hint of sweetness to the meat filling. The pork sisig was seasoned nicely as well. I wish they use the most traditional sisig ingredient like pork jowl, ears and belly. Nevertheless, these were delicious additions to a buffet spread.

We came by for a family lunch today right at opening after youngest promotion day. I'm sure it was strategically planned as he wanted to hit up Barnes and Nobles after for some books ;) I got myself a smart book worm kid I tell yah...must be my side of the family hahaha. Anyways, back to the review...we were the first diners to arrive. My oldest son is always down for Poke! Nolan ordered a large and it was 5 scoops of protein for $25.95 (fairly small scoops imo), with a base of his choice and he chose mix rice and mixed greens. I asked him what his thoughts were and he said it was nothing special and that it was kinda pricey for what he got. He also said he was confused when he was trying to pick the fish from the buffet space as it didn't match the signs in front of them so he had to order from the menu and watch the guys put it in his bowl. Not sure if they just weren't ready for us as we were the first diners of the day. My youngest ordered the Taco trio which consists of 1 Ahi Poke Taco, 1 Salmon Poke Taco and 1 Cooked Salmon Taco for $19.99. The entree came out looking pretty appetizing but we were disappointed that the taco shells were all stale. Not crunchy in anyway. My son ate most of the filling and left the shells. We ordered the SALMON CARPACCIO which was described as 7 pieces thinly sliced fresh salmon, microgreens, sesame seeds, japanese seven spice, yuzu ponzu for 18.50 to share. When this came out, my son was so surprised that it was so tiny as it was not enough to share so my little man had it all to himself. I couldn't decide what to order. I debated on the fish and chips but was told they didn't have batter so it was a no go special today. The said the poke nacho's was popular but I wasn't craving poke personally. So my partner and I ended up ordering (2) servings of Garlic Shrimp. When I asked how many shrimps came with the servings, the guy behind the counter didn't know. It came out with 7 shrimps and a tiny bit of garlic over a ton of rice. Flavor was good, I wanted more sauce and garlic to go with the rice we were given. This place doesn't skimp on rice in their bowls. All in all, portions to prices were a bit off for us. The guys behind the counters were nice. Place was clean.

I was shocked, and frankly, it's an insult in my opinion, that Rudy's is so "cheap" about the bread! For all we pay for our dinners, asking for extra bread should not be a problem nor an extra charge! That really is a shame because now I am hesitant to consider bringing friends to Rudy's.
