    Barbecue pork skewers
    Mary Jae L.

Great to have a Filipino food place in Folsom! There was plenty of parking available and reasonable wait for a Sunday lunch time. I went for the three item combo plate with half bihon and half rice from the hot foods display. The three items I chose were the barbecue chicken skewer, barbecue pork skewer, and sisig. The sisig had more of a stew texture that most sisigs I have tried, but was still tasty. It was not spicy though which was a bit disappointing for me. The barbecue skewers were solid. The bihon was average but I would choose it as part of a combo again. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant is on the small side but there are some table and chairs available. There are also Filipino snacks for sale. I'll be back to try some of the other dishes!

I came here for lunch and had a very delicious meal. I got a two item plate with bbq pork and sinigang. For your base, you can get rice, pancit, or both. Auntie packed my plate with pancit and I can get full from just that. The pork skewers are sweet and salty, and the sinigang was sour and fresh. Both dishes were very good, I'm excited to go back and try their other dishes. You can also sample the dishes too. I finished my meal with a halo halo which was $10. One of the best halo halo I've had!

OMGeee! Not only does this place serve food, it's like a mini market. I haven't had some of these snacks in forever. There's nothing out here that I know of except one other Filipino restaurant. But to get groceries... that's another story. Seeing this brought so much joy. They also have sweet treats made like bika, puto, etc. Food: Okay, so I read the bad review and I don't know what they're talking about. The food was good! I had the dinuguan and bbq skewer with rice. So yummy and the portions were good too. I also tried their sago (think Filipino boba) and I can't believe I've never had this before, so good! Service: It was a little busy, there were 3 people ahead of me. I was greeted though. Even with being busy, they were nice. I even got the suggestion about trying the sago because I asked what that was from another customer. Ambiance: So here's where I think people will disagree with me. With Folsom being Folsom, it's basic. But here's the thing, if you're Filipino it feels a bit like home. You may go in there thinking it looks like a cafeteria. But for me, it brought me back to the days where I'd go shopping with my Mom. There's enough seating. But if the ambiance isn't your vibe, just take the food to go. ‍

This restaurant & mini market is located near Raley's on East Bidwell. Their menu is different every day. They have combo meal in which you can choose the protein that you like. Follow their facebook page to see their daily menu. The service is always friendly and with smile. - Pancit: the noodle was good and well seasoned. It was cooked perfectly and still had firmness - Adobong pusit (Squid): my favorite Filipino dish and it was tasty. The squid was tender and each piece was big. The sauce was a tad too salty for me. - Pork sisig: delicious! They had the perfect balance of meat and fat. The dish was well seasoned. However, I wish that they included more onion pieces. - Pork ribs sinigang: good. The pork ribs meat was super tender. The broth was refreshing and tasty. However, I wish that the broth was a little more sour and the soup had more vegetables. - Chicken inasal: chicken was tender and flavorful. The chicken pieces were quite generous. - Kare kare: good creamy gravy (but I wish the peanut flavor is more prominent). The meat pieces were tender & the vegetable was fresh

I ordered these trays from their catering menu. The lumpias were perfectly fried with a hint of sweetness to the meat filling. The pork sisig was seasoned nicely as well. I wish they use the most traditional sisig ingredient like pork jowl, ears and belly. Nevertheless, these were delicious additions to a buffet spread.

Serving Authentic Filipino Dishes [Folsom CA] While in the Folsom area I happened to notice this Filipino restaurant with its name in bright red bold letters. Inside is a modest space they designated for customer table seating. On the other side of the wall are shelves they used for merchandise, selling some grocery items. It looked like a new business and it was busy inside, a little chaotic. I popped in and inquired if they had Halo-halo, a popular Filipino dessert. They didn't have it available. I left but I returned the next day. The Next Day: I returned today and decided to try their food. The combo meals had 6 dishes to choose from. This menu rotates daily. My Combo #1 comes with choice of 2 scoops of rice or pancit bihon or half and half. I chose half rice, half pancit and the bistek for my dish. The food was authentic Filipino cuisine. The beef steak ("bistek") was flavorful and the meat was tender. The portion seemed small, though, but I guess that's what you get for $10. For an add'l $2 you can also make your meal to include a drink. This restaurant has only been in operation for less than a month, opened 12/17/24. Looks like they're off to a great start and I hope it remains that way. I was told that one can check their daily menu on their Facebook page. They are closed on Mondays. Kabayan (or kababayan) in Tagalog translates to "fellow Filipino, countryman, or townmate." Mabuhay kababayan! Review #3652

The best chicken inasal in town. We experienced exceptional Filipino hospitality at this establishment. Ms. Abbie's personal touch in checking on us made us feel valued. This exemplifies the warm welcome we've come to expect. We will certainly return.

I came in here around 11:30 on a Thursday, and I was the only customer, and the food looked fresh and delicious. The guy working there gave me a breakdown of each dish. I had the Beef Kaldereta and some sort of slightly spicy pork dish along with a scoop of rice, and a scoop of pancit. The Beef Kaldereta was in a tomato sauce, it was mild, it tasted good, but it was basically Filipino goulash or Swiss steak. The pork dish was delicious, and I would order it again. I also ordered a pork skewer, which tasted fine. The pancit was a good choice. I shall return.

As a Filipino-American I'm so happy that a Filipino restaurant opened near my home. The place is very simple and clean. The place is family owned and everyone is very friendly. I got the combo #1 with pork bbq and half rice half pancit bihon. For dessert I picked up the puto. Everything tasted home made and comforting. I look forward to coming back soon.

Pork BBQ was tender & excellent - made exactly like my Dad's recipe !

The spicy crab (or lobster, I can't remember) bisque, was also really good. I'd recommend it. Mildly spicy, not crazy. My coworker got the caesar salad, and was very underwhelmed with it. For my entree I got the Pesto Scallop pasta. The scallops were overcooked, and underwhelming, in size. But I acknowledge that could just be the season. Doesn't excuse the fact that they were overcooked. The pesto sauce was yummy! I give this place a solid 4 stars, and would definitely revisit next time I'm back in the area. Ahi Tuna Nachos get a 5 star, though, for sure. Thanks for hosting us!

The price per person is a bit higher than other all you can eat hotpot places, but the quality of the ingredients more than justifies it. She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

Our bartender was MIA. We tired of waiting and asked for the check; we'd skip the dessert. Our server then appeared! Tada! To her credit, she asked if she could take it off the bill and send it home with us; we declined - we were well past that point.
