    Barbecue pork skewers
    Mary Jae L.

Great to have a Filipino food place in Folsom! There was plenty of parking available and reasonable wait for a Sunday lunch time. I went for the three item combo plate with half bihon and half rice from the hot foods display. The three items I chose were the barbecue chicken skewer, barbecue pork skewer, and sisig. The sisig had more of a stew texture that most sisigs I have tried, but was still tasty. It was not spicy though which was a bit disappointing for me. The barbecue skewers were solid. The bihon was average but I would choose it as part of a combo again. The staff were very friendly. The restaurant is on the small side but there are some table and chairs available. There are also Filipino snacks for sale. I'll be back to try some of the other dishes!

I came here for lunch and had a very delicious meal. I got a two item plate with bbq pork and sinigang. For your base, you can get rice, pancit, or both. Auntie packed my plate with pancit and I can get full from just that. The pork skewers are sweet and salty, and the sinigang was sour and fresh. Both dishes were very good, I'm excited to go back and try their other dishes. You can also sample the dishes too. I finished my meal with a halo halo which was $10. One of the best halo halo I've had!

OMGeee! Not only does this place serve food, it's like a mini market. I haven't had some of these snacks in forever. There's nothing out here that I know of except one other Filipino restaurant. But to get groceries... that's another story. Seeing this brought so much joy. They also have sweet treats made like bika, puto, etc. Food: Okay, so I read the bad review and I don't know what they're talking about. The food was good! I had the dinuguan and bbq skewer with rice. So yummy and the portions were good too. I also tried their sago (think Filipino boba) and I can't believe I've never had this before, so good! Service: It was a little busy, there were 3 people ahead of me. I was greeted though. Even with being busy, they were nice. I even got the suggestion about trying the sago because I asked what that was from another customer. Ambiance: So here's where I think people will disagree with me. With Folsom being Folsom, it's basic. But here's the thing, if you're Filipino it feels a bit like home. You may go in there thinking it looks like a cafeteria. But for me, it brought me back to the days where I'd go shopping with my Mom. There's enough seating. But if the ambiance isn't your vibe, just take the food to go. ‍

This restaurant & mini market is located near Raley's on East Bidwell. Their menu is different every day. They have combo meal in which you can choose the protein that you like. Follow their facebook page to see their daily menu. The service is always friendly and with smile. - Pancit: the noodle was good and well seasoned. It was cooked perfectly and still had firmness - Adobong pusit (Squid): my favorite Filipino dish and it was tasty. The squid was tender and each piece was big. The sauce was a tad too salty for me. - Pork sisig: delicious! They had the perfect balance of meat and fat. The dish was well seasoned. However, I wish that they included more onion pieces. - Pork ribs sinigang: good. The pork ribs meat was super tender. The broth was refreshing and tasty. However, I wish that the broth was a little more sour and the soup had more vegetables. - Chicken inasal: chicken was tender and flavorful. The chicken pieces were quite generous. - Kare kare: good creamy gravy (but I wish the peanut flavor is more prominent). The meat pieces were tender & the vegetable was fresh

I ordered these trays from their catering menu. The lumpias were perfectly fried with a hint of sweetness to the meat filling. The pork sisig was seasoned nicely as well. I wish they use the most traditional sisig ingredient like pork jowl, ears and belly. Nevertheless, these were delicious additions to a buffet spread.

Serving Authentic Filipino Dishes [Folsom CA] While in the Folsom area I happened to notice this Filipino restaurant with its name in bright red bold letters. Inside is a modest space they designated for customer table seating. On the other side of the wall are shelves they used for merchandise, selling some grocery items. It looked like a new business and it was busy inside, a little chaotic. I popped in and inquired if they had Halo-halo, a popular Filipino dessert. They didn't have it available. I left but I returned the next day. The Next Day: I returned today and decided to try their food. The combo meals had 6 dishes to choose from. This menu rotates daily. My Combo #1 comes with choice of 2 scoops of rice or pancit bihon or half and half. I chose half rice, half pancit and the bistek for my dish. The food was authentic Filipino cuisine. The beef steak ("bistek") was flavorful and the meat was tender. The portion seemed small, though, but I guess that's what you get for $10. For an add'l $2 you can also make your meal to include a drink. This restaurant has only been in operation for less than a month, opened 12/17/24. Looks like they're off to a great start and I hope it remains that way. I was told that one can check their daily menu on their Facebook page. They are closed on Mondays. The best chicken inasal in town. We experienced exceptional Filipino hospitality at this establishment. Ms. Abbie's personal touch in checking on us made us feel valued. This exemplifies the warm welcome we've come to expect. We will certainly return.

I came in here around 11:30 on a Thursday, and I was the only customer, and the food looked fresh and delicious. The guy working there gave me a breakdown of each dish. I had the Beef Kaldereta and some sort of slightly spicy pork dish along with a scoop of rice, and a scoop of pancit. The Beef Kaldereta was in a tomato sauce, it was mild, it tasted good, but it was basically Filipino goulash or Swiss steak. The pork dish was delicious, and I would order it again. I also ordered a pork skewer, which tasted fine. The pancit was a good choice. I shall return.

As a Filipino-American I'm so happy that a Filipino restaurant opened near my home. The place is very simple and clean. The place is family owned and everyone is very friendly. I got the combo #1 with pork bbq and half rice half pancit bihon. For dessert I picked up the puto. Everything tasted home made and comforting. I look forward to coming back soon.

Pork BBQ was tender & excellent - made exactly like my Dad's recipe !

Today we decided that after seeing the movie Michael, we wanted some food because well, Popcorn and a Drink certainly doesnt cut it when you're hungry. Right as soon as we walked in if you turn to the left you get to see a huge menu and with there being so many things to choose from, we choose Tri-Tip Soft Tacos and Pulled Pork Tacos. The wife came over with some samples of BBQ Sauce to try and I first tested the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce and just to say that since I dont really do Spice (Except every so often) the Sweet Fire Heat BBQ Sauce wasnt very spicy and the Buckhorns BBQ Sauce was delicious. However when I walked over to get the California Gold BBQ Sauce and I tested that, WHOA!! It immediately hits you in the back of the throat. After waiting for about 4 or 5 minutes the waitress came over with our food. She presented my wife with her Tri-Tip Tacos and then to me with my Pulled Pork Tacos. As soon as I took a bite out of my Pulled Pork Tacos, you could taste the chewiness of the meat because it was so tender. My wife and I then swapped 1 Taco each and after I took a bite out of her Tri-Tip Taco, it then mirrored the same tenderness and taste of the Pulled Pork. It was soft and when I poured the Buckhorn BBQ Sauce on it, it actually added more flavor to the taste of the Tri-Tip the same of my Pulled Pork. I then tried the Strawberry Dragonfruit Lemonade and while I wasn't a big fan of that I decided to just change to Mango Lemonade which was very good as well. Thank you Buckhorn for such a great experience. Oh yeah, when they brought out the Bavarian Pretzel and the Buckhorns Beer Cheese.. WOW!! The size of the Pretzel caught my eye but it was very good as well. And while we spent a good chunk of change, everything here was very well worth it. Definitely a 5 Star place because the food and the BBQ are most certainly ON POINT!

Four of us were doing some Palladio window shopping when we came upon the Buckhorn restaurant. We peeked at the menu and decided to give it a try for an early dinner. One in our group had eaten here previously and enjoyed her meal immensely. Ok... let's go! Ambiance: Big, large, almost warehouse-type feel. Love the open kitchen with all the cooking/barbecuing going on. Super nice bar area with a dedicated bartender. Excellent for a couple or single walking in and wanting a more intimate experience. Enormous amount of tables and booths. And as you enter the checkin area there is well laid out and easy to read menu signs. Love the "do your ordering at the get go", pay, and then relax until your food is delivered. Also a handy/easy concept for groups or anyone not liking to figure out and splitting individual food costs. Food: Delicious! And there was 20 minutes left of happy hour when we came in. Who knew!?! Two of our group ordered from the HH menu and two did not. Beer battered onion rings served with ranch, the Buckhorn Burger and three Char Roasted Tri Tip Sliders all from the HH menu. (Check out those great prices from my HH menu photo.) I ordered the Cabo Chop Salad and added grilled chicken. And a side of lightly salted fries... just because! As requested, the onion rings and fries were delivered to our booth first. Both were piping hot and delicious. They hit the spot. And disappeared fast. Yum! After devouring all of that, everything else came out looking and tasting f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c! Not one complaint. My salad was wonderful and I would definitely order it again in a heart beat. Bar: Great selection of anything you may want. Wine, beer, and cocktails. Impressive HH prices were sweet too. Sean, the bartender, was super welcoming. I chose a Sauvignon Blanc and Sean brought it to my booth in minutes. I could see enjoying a future HH at the bar! Customer Service: Top notch! We interacted with a young woman when we entered and ordered. She was AWESOME. Friendly, professional, quick to answer all our questions as first-time diners and knowledgeable about the many menu items. And again so nice of her to get our order in before 5 for those using the HH choices. A big thank you to her! Both she and Sean made our dining experience wonderful. I am sold on the Buckhorn for great food, drinks, and service. Nice outdoor dog friendly seating. Great for families and groups. Clean! Parking garage nearby. Do not miss the Buckhorn!

We saw the smoker in the front of the building. I do luv me some good ole BBQ. So off we went. We bought another side, macaroni salad. We requested that the pulled pork be placed on the side and additional sauce. I dislike being that customer with persnickety preferences. But we were, and they didn't blink an eye. Super accommodating. The pulled pork had a deep smoky flavor. Tender shredded pieces. Mmm. The sauce was served on the side. That too was delicious. Overall, we had a really great first experience. The quality of the food stood out right away as everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We were honestly very impressed with how good everything tasted. Even though the portions aren't as packed as some other Hawaiian BBQ spots, the food absolutely hits all the Hawaiian flavors and cravings we love, and we left very satisfied. The pricing was decent (slightly cheaper than other Hawaiian food spots), the interior was clean and well-kept, and I appreciated the designated sauce station on top of having sauces at each table for convenience. To top it all off, the Pineapple Dole Whip was the perfect dessert as it was light, refreshing, and such a great finishing touch. Another big thing to note is that they offer Musubi Mondays, where you can get 50% off musubis. My husband immediately noticed the sign for it in the front of the store and was so excited. We thought how it was such a sweet deal that we are already considering coming back on a Monday just for that to stock up on musubis to eat at home. However, there is a max of 2 orders per customer for the Musubi Monday deal, but still totally worth it to try. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is purely because of portion size compared to other Hawaiian places. The spam musubis are also a bit small in size compared to other places that make spam musubi but the teriyaki sauce that goes with it makes it better! That said, the quality, taste, and overall experience definitely make up for it! This is officially going to be our new go-to spot for Hawaiian food moving forward, and we're excited to come back again soon!
