#9 THE CRISPY
Dennette S.

Grabbing a quick bite to eat before heading to the movies! This was so good! I noticed a lot of people ordered online, probably a good idea, but since this was our first time, we decided to order when we arrived. We had the crispy chicken with the garlic sauce and also ordered Jab Chae. The crispy chicken was absolutely perfect, crunchy and full of flavor, the Jab Chae was such a big bowl and perfectly seasoned. The inside looks small, but there are four tables that can seat 4-6 people and a few tables for 2 people. They also offer a water station. Definitely will be back

Gochu Mayo Boneless Half Order

This place satisfies the Korean food crave aside from Hot pot style. Located conveniently across from Knee Deep brewing Chicken bulgogi is super tender and the japchae. Mandoo and kimchee side ties it altogether! Kim Chee fried rice is not as spicy as it looks but a nice complement to any entree. The new Gochu mayo fried chicken was tasty and spicy so beware! Our order was ready in 15 minutes and packed carefully in takeout containers. We usually stop in when feeling thirsty for Knee deep brewing! Cheers!

Saturday, 6/21/2025 - Tried TTObongee Korean Fried Chicken. Address is 2791 E Bidwell St, Unit 1100, Folsom, CA 95630. This is located in a large shopping plaza with lots of parking. Upon arrival..... Pros 1) I saw tables outside and people eating outside. There are tables inside. We were the only ones inside eating. 2) There was an order kiosks right by the exit door or you can walk up to the cashier and order there. Cashier was very nice. We ordered and paid, then wait for our foods. They bring it to your table. 3) they also have party trays to order. 4) the foods we ordered were good. Maip Dak Chicken was a little too sweet for my liking, but it's still good. Tempura shrimp and Sodduk Sodduk were good. 5) water tasted fine. Cons 1) none 2) Conclusion Cute little restaurant. Simple. Easy to order, eat and go. Cashier was nice. She took our order and brought the foods to the table. There are plenty of stores in that area to shop after you eat here.

I swear I never post reviews, but had to after my meal. Delicious food, large portions, super duper friendly service. Best fried rice I've ever had. will definitely be going back.

Picked a random spot, best decision ever on a late Thursday evening. Absolutely loved the food, authentic East Asian food, service was efficient. The tables were so clean, bathrooms were spotless. Definitely will be coming here when craving for kimichi!

Spicy pork Dosirak

I'm so excited and happy that they now serve Dosiraks (bento boxes) The young lady that always answers the phone is super friendly and helpful. She remembers my name and has excellent customer service. The food is very authentic Korean and delicious! Highly recommend this Korean restaurant!

Bibimbap

4 1/2 out of five stars.. I love a good bibimbap, so when I saw that this place had it on the menu, I decided to do a DoorDash. The food arrived quick, and it was a good temperature. I started with the mandu dumplings, which are like a fried potsticker. They were delicious. Nice and crunchy, they had a good amount of delicious filling, and I liked the dipping sauce that it came with. The bibimbap was amazing. The beef was tender, the veggies were not overly done, and the rice was a perfect texture. It was delicious! The only hitch, and the only reason I'm taking off a half a star, it's because again, the egg was overdone. You are supposed to be able to pop the yolk, so it drips down into the food. It didn't happen here. It's a minor glitch. Other than that, though, the food was amazing. I didn't care for the hot sauce that came with it, but I did like the Korean pickled veggies that it came with. Very good. Maybe next time, instead of ordering delivery, I will check out the restaurant. Thanks for a great meal.

The fried chicken is fabulous. I luv the chicken wings. My two faves are the extra crispy and original options. The chicken is moist in either version you get. The original's exterior has a classic crisp exterior. For an extra crunchy taste and texture, go for the extra crispy version. Both are not greasy at all, just darn delicious. Mmmm.

The Crispy Chicken and Jab Chae noodles! I also made rib eye steak on the side at home which is pictured.

Ordered 2 ramens and a beer, but the beer was never brought out; notified the waiter/manager about it and he took it off the check which was great. He also offered us and other tables a small sampler plate of the chicken katsu which was delicious. The thing that ticked me was when our ramens came out, we tried the broth and it was nice, but my bf shortly noticed we didn't have any eggs. Took quite a while for staff to notice us for us to call them over. Once we told the waiter (not the guy that brought tables the katsus) he asked us which ramens we ordered to see if they come with eggs, *All of them come with eggs except for kids ramen* and then he asked if we were sure it wasn't there and if it wasn't just buried under our ramen. We were looking at him with our ramen bowls still full to the top shuffling around our noodles to prove to him there's no eggs. Like i get mistakes happen, I wasn't upset about the beer, the no water refills, or the egg missing; it was just the way that waiter questioned us about it that made the meal sour. The food was good, but that interaction with that staff made us realize we could just go to one of the other fukumi restaurants bc the only difference to us was the service. *I even took a photo of the ramen before we realized the eggs were missing

The mushroom broth is a must try, very rich and flavorful. Even though the restaurant is very busy, the service was attentive and friendly throughout our meal. The dessert after the hotpot was also a nice surprise and very enjoyable. The price per person is a bit higher than other all you can eat hotpot places, but the quality of the ingredients more than justifies it. I have honestly never had hotpot with such high quality black tiger shrimp, and the beef was the best I have ever had at a hotpot restaurant. The owner clearly focuses on ingredient quality rather than fancy decor or presentation, otherwise the price would easily be much higher. In Las Vegas, hotpot of this same quality usually costs significantly more, so this place is absolutely worth trying. Since it wasn't very busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. The dining room is fairly large, with a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating. Each table has a tablet for electronic ordering, but we decided to go old-fashioned and order through our server. We started with a large hot sake and six pieces of gyoza, asking our server to hold the entrées until we finished. The sake hit the spot and paired nicely with the gyoza. The gyoza tasted good but was just a bit harder than we'd like. For the main meal, I ordered a bento box with nigiri sushi and tempura, while the others chose a salmon teriyaki bento box and a Spicy Yellowtail Roll. My nigiri tasted fresh and nicely prepared. I also tried a piece of the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and found it to have a nice flavor profile. The salmon teriyaki was clean and sweet, with a natural salmon flavor, and was tender and juicy. The portions were generous, making for a satisfying meal, and everyone enjoyed their food, although my companions thought the tempura was a bit too oily. Despite the slightly firm gyoza and oily tempura, the good sake, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable lunch. The highlight for me was sipping the remaining sake and enjoying the nigiri.

The beef chow mein was on point as well. The only reason for the 4 stars is that the chow mein was a little too soft (though the flavor was there), and the price felt a bit steep for the portion size. Three orders for $60--eeep! We decided to try something local and came across Big Island Hawaiian BBQ, which was a close enough drive from where we live so we figured, why not give this spot a try? Overall, we had a really great first experience. The quality of the food stood out right away as everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. We were honestly very impressed with how good everything tasted. Even though the portions aren't as packed as some other Hawaiian BBQ spots, the food absolutely hits all the Hawaiian flavors and cravings we love, and we left very satisfied. The pricing was decent (slightly cheaper than other Hawaiian food spots), the interior was clean and well-kept, and I appreciated the designated sauce station on top of having sauces at each table for convenience. To top it all off, the Pineapple Dole Whip was the perfect dessert as it was light, refreshing, and such a great finishing touch. Another big thing to note is that they offer Musubi Mondays, where you can get 50% off musubis. My husband immediately noticed the sign for it in the front of the store and was so excited. We thought how it was such a sweet deal that we are already considering coming back on a Monday just for that to stock up on musubis to eat at home. However, there is a max of 2 orders per customer for the Musubi Monday deal, but still totally worth it to try. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is purely because of portion size compared to other Hawaiian places. The spam musubis are also a bit small in size compared to other places that make spam musubi but the teriyaki sauce that goes with it makes it better! That said, the quality, taste, and overall experience definitely make up for it! This is officially going to be our new go-to spot for Hawaiian food moving forward, and we're excited to come back again soon!

I would describe this as a place for introverts who love sushi. If you don't want to interact with a single human during your whole visit, Bento Revolving Sushi is for you! But I actually like having someone warmly greet us, welcome us in, seat us, and walk us through how things work at the shop. ESPECIALLY when I shared that it was our first time to the restaurant. Especially when the restaurant has a nontraditional method for ordering. We ordered a beer from the ~one~ human trying to fill roles of host, server, busser and cashier (which in and of itself is ridiculous and too much to ask of a single employee). Ten minutes later, I was able to catch the attention of that one staffer. They came over and it was at that point they explained that we needed to order everything using the computer pad at our table. (Cool! Would have been excellent to know that when we first arrived or even when we ordered our beer.) To be fair, the beer arrived along with apologies about the wait. Thanks. Then we got excited for all of the many offerings in their extensive menu. We start ordering via the pad and had to show some restraint to not get too much directly from the kitchen, which is in addition to whatever is moving around the revolving "belt" that snakes its way by the ~13 tables available for customer use in the restaurant (several other tables were stacked with supplies and seemed to just be used for storage). And then we waited. We watched roll after roll sent out of the kitchen to one table in particular on their fairly cool automated conveyor system. Unique. Fun even! But man, that table was getting all the love. I guess they finish their tickets one table at a time rather than sending out a few items to each table to get people enjoying food throughout their visits. OK. After another 20 minutes of waiting, we inquired about our order. At that point (seriously, nearly 40 minutes after walking in the front door), the single staff told us that we had to hit the "send order" button on the pad. (I know. Obvious enough but I missed it and no one took time to spend 30 seconds telling us how to use their system.) None of our order had even been received by the kitchen let alone started. At this point, I was ready to pay for our beer and leave, but the husband talked me down. So we waited even longer, and eventually our meal started arriving, plate by plate. The food was really quite tasty. The shrimp tempura was yummy, served piping hot and we liked the addition of the crunchy noodles underneath. The rolls were good, although one was torched but wasn't under the torched menu, which was less than ideal since we'd already ordered one torched roll. The hamachi nigiri was fresh. The offerings on the belt were not very appetizing, made worse by someone having put back on the belt an empty, dirty plate of one of the desserts, which circulated during most of our visit. Gross. Lastly, nearly every surface was sticky and/or dirty. The screen of the ordering pad was gross. Under our table was so sticky the soles of my shoes were sticking to the floor. Just ick. If all of the other issues were set aside, I would likely consider returning. But honestly, there are plenty of great sushi places that have great customer service and would never leave a table unchecked for 10-20 minutes at a time. While I feel for the single staffer who said, "I'm really busy" (trying to do all the things that more than one person should be doing), I'm just not into excuses. This place clearly does not prioritize customer service. I won't be back.
