Bahn mi & Com Thit Nuong chicken
Mel J.

We visited the restaurant during Grand opening for lunch. It was packed and it took a while to get our food. The service was friendly and they checked several time on us and to refill the water. We visited again the following week for a to-go order. The restaurant wasn't busy but we still had to wait quite a while for our food. - H4. Bo Kho with bun: the soup broth was good (tomatoey with a hint of sweetness). The beef pieces were tender and they were lots of pieces. The bun was super good: crunchy on the outside yet soft inside. It was the perfect combo to dipped into the broth. - P2. Pho Tai Bo Vien: the portion was generous. The broth wasn't too fatty and tasted clean yet savory. The noodle was cooked perfectly and they were quite generous for the meatball & sliced steak. - S1. Bahn Mi Thit Nuong chicken: it was okay. It didn't have the pate as in other Bahn mi places. However, the pickled vegetables were crunchy and fresh. The chicken pieces were tender and flavorful. - R2. Com Thit Nuong chicken: the portion was good. The chicken was juicy and flavorful but I wish it was more charred.

New place in Folsom and we were not disappointed! Everything was fantastic. Food came out quickly and fresh. Their fried egg rolls are the best in town, and I've had others at many Vietnamese places. Nice friendly service. We will be back and highly recommend trying them out.

This place exceeded my expectations! If im being honest, nothing in the food scene of folsom has really wowed me except this place. I ordered the spicy lemongrass chicken plate and my fiance got their signature pho . The pho broth was amazing- one of the best ive had. I really liked that i could taste the the star anise-it wasnt too potent or anything but had a nice aroma and made this broth more unique from others because normally I can barely taste it. My chicken was still the highlight though. It wasnt spicy at all though but still juicy tender and delicious. I would def get both dishes again- the shrimp spring rolls were a good appetizer but nothing special. Service was very nice and they came and checked on us a few times. In terms of the Ambiance its not too busy at all and I like thats they have videos of diff viet dishes playing in the background lol

Tried this location out during their opening and on a rainy day. Soup broth was clean and bean sprouts/basil were fresh. The broth did not seem very hot, it comes in a large bowl. I could only eat half and brought the other half home. The noodles are plentiful and seemed slightly under cooked but later softened in the broth. The service was attentive. Glad to have a new Vietnamese option in Folsom.

So glad I saw the posting about the soft opening for a new Vietnamese restaurant in town. Typically I'll wait a few months before trying a new business to give them an opportunity to iron out any start-up hiccups, but a piping hot bowl of noodle soup sounded like the perfect comfort food for the evening. I was thankful for our server's recommendation. My go-to when frequenting other pho restaurants is usually chicken pho, but I ordered the Bo Kho (House special beef stew served with noodles) which was packed with flavor and a generous portion of noodles to satisfy this foodie's craving for Asian cuisine. My friend ordered the Bun Bo Hue (Spicy lemongrass beef noodle soup) and enjoyed her meal as well. The service was prompt and our server, Henry was attentive. We wish this new local business much success and looking forward to future visits so we can slowly make our way through the rest of the menu! Tran Kitchen is located at: 424 E Bidwell Street Folsom, CA 95630

Bun Bo Hue here is very delicious, with rich and flavorful broth. I especially love the saté chili sauce -- it's very fragrant and tasty chicken wings tastes so good The food tastes really good and suits my taste perfectly. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and provide great service. I will definitely come back again

Great new Vietnamese spot in Folsom. Solid Pho and excellent Bo Kho. Easily the best pho place in a town with limited choices for decent Vietnamese. Pho was on the sweeter side, but solid. Good cuts of beef in the soup. Was a bit stingy with the bean sprouts, but was only second day open when we went so I'm sure minor things like this will improve. The Bo Kho was the highlight. Very flavorful broth, tender meat and the banh mi bread it came with was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. We also tried the chicken pho, it was the weakest part of the meal. Not bad, just C level. Service was good and owner stopped by the table to make sure everything was good and offered the kids free ice cream since it was their soft opening. We'll definitely come back when looking for Vietnamese and in the area.

With Saigon Alley & Pho n' Roll closing on us, I was excited to see a new pho restaurant in town! I was very impressed with their excellent customer service. The staff are very kind, patient and helpful. We ordered pho ga for our kids and they loved it. The broth was amazing! You don't need to add a thing. Bo kho was also so flavorful and delicious. The place is a bit on the smaller side but it's a decent size. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. I also love the decor they have- flowers and pics of Vietnam. This will be our regular pho spot from now on.

New York strip PHO with extra meat, they only come in one size, which is very large, the broth is out of this world

Excellent customer service, above beyond and I'm gonna say some of the cleanest tasting, and best tasting broth that I've had from Folsom clear over to Camino. I got the New York strip beef PHO, I believe it only comes in one size and prices look good to me. I'm not gonna knock ABC or PHO society, those are the only two places that I've had in Folsom for Pho, but the second he brought my soup out I could see that the broth was homemade, relatively clear which means that they are careful to really wash those bones before they cook them for 24 hours, and they really do a good job scraping off all the scum from the bones, making sure not too much blood from the bones gets cooked into the broth because you can tell when you get PHO how well they cleaned the bones. I'm not gonna knock it unless it's really bad, but the broth was pretty clear and one amazing thing I have to say is that the flavor was super on point and they did not overdo the rock sugar and star of anise. You can definitely taste all the flavors, but sometimes people make it pretty sweet so I have to put more Sriracha to offset, this broth was literally perfect as it was served. They are a new business, it was extremely clean, they open at 10:30 so you cannot go wrong with that if you are looking for a PHO brunch experience. I love that they have New York strip as an option with a little tiny smidgen of gristle on the meat, not much just enough for flavor, I love that the meat wasn't too thick because when steak is cut too thick in PHO it gets tough and chewy. There were beautiful bits of fat floating on the surface, and they serve it with lime and not lemon. You have no idea how crazy it drives me when I get PHO and it comes with lemon and not lime. The bean sprouts and the basil, all of the greenery was fresh, there were no brown spots on anything, the portion size was what would be considered a large to extra large anywhere else, and when I say that this gentleman went above and beyond as my server, he was extremely attentive, he checked on me constantly, and the drinking water was very obviously filtered. It did not taste like it came from a hose. I have a gastric sleeve so I can't eat much food at once so I had to take quite a lot to go, I almost never over eat anymore but that broth was so good, the little bit that did not fit in my to go container I was practically forcing it in, I felt healthier just for having drank it! I don't normally rave about food like this, but I'm so glad that there is an alternative spot to go for a good Vietnamese food in Folsom. I live in Camino, I drove 45 minutes to try this place and I was not disappointed. I think this is gonna be our go to spot for a while. I will say that I did not try any vermicelli or rice plates, and I did not try the BAHNMI. So this is based solely on the New York strip PHO. I was tempted to get the deluxe which had beef meatballs, I think tendon and brisket but I wanted to keep it safe just in case. Highly highly recommend!

Coffee dessert and not sweet, yay!

We came on their grand opening which we were so excited to try. It is getting kinda of warm outside, but to eat Pho everyday would be a plus. Great food, clean environment and the best customer service. They were so polite and gave us everything we needed. We will definitely be bringing our friends!!

Checked out Tran Kitchen, Folsom's new Vietnamese restaurant on E. Bidwell Street. Second day of a "soft" Grand Opening weekend. Interior has an attractive open motif with room for about 50 customers. Menu is mostly limited to Pho options. I selected the Pho Dac Biet, a clear broth with thin-sliced beef and silver noodles. The beef flavor is very mild. My tasty Thai iced tea was very traditional. There was no re-fill offered. Service was attentive but not hovering. One note: some menu items include a sandwich. The "sandwich" is actually a bread roll.

What items can be made gluten free besides Pho?

Hi Fabi, you can go with the pork and shrimp spring rolls, beef stew served with pho noodles, the shaken beef rice plate (ask for no soy sauce, use vegan oyster sauce instead), or the grilled shrimps vermicelli bowl.

Remodeled to a modern ambience which I thought was simple and nice compared to other pho establishments. We started with Goi Nem Nuong (grilled pork spring rolls) - this was actually really good and served warm. We also grabbed the salt and pepper calamari. Batter was crispy, calamari was chewy but was a tad oily. Flavor was there. Pho N Roll noodles came up short. We order (2) special Pho (Dac Biet) and BBH in large size. Ordered a small Pho Tai Gan for our little one. While there was ample noodles and broth in portions, the flavor was lacking. Pho and BBH were both on the bland side. BBH was not spicy or savory. Most noodle options have 4 sizes (XS, S, L and XL) however the specials only have 3 leaving out XS which makes sense. Conveniently located with ample parking as it shares a center with ranch 99, Starbucks, etc. They have a really large menu! While we may not have loved the pho, there are so many other rice dishes to try! Until next time.

I was thinking ramen, but Dad wanted pho, and conveniently there was a pho place in the same shopping center as the DMV. What could go wrong? We walked in to an empty restaurant, red flag number one, but we were seated right away. I ordered the bun bo hue. Dad ordered the pho beef ribs. He also asked for a black Vietnamese coffee but was told they only had the creamy version. That was fine. Food arrives and wow. Was this pho made with warm tap water? Zero aroma. Zero depth. Zero soul. The pho had no fragrance whatsoever, and the bun bo hue somehow managed to be just as flavorless, which is honestly impressive. The Vietnamese coffee tasted like it came straight from a powdered packet mixed with a sugar factory. Definitely not authentic, unless authentic now means dessert in a cup. I do not even know what else to say except I want the calories I wasted back. And no, we did not finish the food. Phoever? Yeah, phoever regret.
