I ordered the Butter Chicken and the Tikka Masala appetizer bites. The bites were very good with a nice spicy kick. The Butter Chicken was tasty and was a good portion size, although I wish it had come with a bit more rice. One thing to note is the tap water is served at room temperature. I would have preferred my water to have some ice or to be a little more chilled. The service was friendly, the inside was relaxed. Overall, the food was solid and full of flavor. I love a good dal and roti! I was having big craving for just that, and decided to pay Mr. Dosa a visit! I placed a phone order and to my surprise, my order was made in a time manner. I asked for medium spice, and they did not hold back! Everything was made fresh, and my food was piping hot. One thing I do have to say though; is the the daal was a bit too oily and the roti was hard and stale. It was the end of the day towards closing so, that could've been the reason. There are many solid Indian places to choose from in Folsom but this (relatively) newcomer to the scene is worthy of being at the top of my list for Indian. The menu is extensive and features great variety along with regional specialties. We started out with the lamb burger and chicken tikka masala and it escalated quickly from there. Then we got butter naan, garlic naan, chicken tandoori legs, vindaloo curry, and mango lassi. The 2 of us ate for 6. All that goes to say every bite had us wanting more! Absolutely love this place! I first tried Mr.Dosa at their Elk Grove location, so I was excited to see their Folsom location! The food here is exceptional and the best Indian food I've found in the Greater Sacramento Area. My personal favorite is the Bhindi Masala, though I would recommend all of their dishes! The environment is quiet since it seems like most of their business is through take out orders. The server was very kind and came in to check on us multiple times throughout our meal. Very nice surprise to get another strong option for great Indian food. We had the masala dosa and chicken 65 which were both great. We additionally tried chili paneer and kerala porotta which were also awesome. We chatted with Raj and he made lots of good recommendations. The service was prompt and food was fresh! My kids are cheese dosa enthusiasts so they each ordered the adult size cheese dosa! They loved the freshness, the Sambar and the chutneys. So good! I wish the dosa was a tad crispier, but other than that, the filling was rich, sambar was also rich and not at all watered-down, and chutneys were thicker than usual (see: rich flavor). Kerala fried chicken was incredible. No spice spared in the making of this. I got it at the "spicy" level, but honestly I could've still gone hotter. I specifically asked for "Indian spicy", perhaps I should've used ol' reliable "Thai spicy." I had high hopes based on the reviews and the yummy looking food in the photos. But, I was disappointed in the experience. The dosa was not great. I got the chicken tikka dosa, and the meat was somewhat dry, the sauce that it was in was so-so, and it had lettuce in it. Of course, the lettuce had wilted by the time I had a few bites. I also had the kadai vegetable. The curry was quite bland, and the vegetables were overcooked. Probably the most glaring issue was that the rice I was served seemed to be an instant rice. What?? So I tried this place for lunch the first time. I didn't even know it was there. I noticed it when I went to DMV. I had a tika masala wrap and it was delicious. It was fresh, hot and tasty with a lightly chard bread wrap. Perfect for lunch. They have a large menu, it's clean and decorated nicely. Service was good and I got my food quickly. Very excited to have finally tried Mr Dosa. I ordered the Lamb Biryani and it was delicious and came in a huge portion for $17. I typically don't have leftovers but brought home a large serving to eat for lunch next day. From looking at the menu they have something for everyone including burgers and tacos and even chicken nuggets and fries for kids. My daughter had a cheese dosa from the kids menu for only $6 and was a full size dosa and was very tasty- I tried some. We also had a delicious vanilla milkshake. The service was friendly and prompt.
