Currently my favorite sushi place in Seattle/Bellevue. They have good prices and great sushi. The service is great and the restaurant is cute. Not a lot of space inside so you may have to grab it to go if you are going to the Bellevue location. I'm a big fan of spicy tuna read more

I've been to Musashi at least once a month for their chirashi bowl. Usually I only go for Yellowtail and my bf go for all Salmon, but sometimes I get their original chirashi bowl with everything in it. The food was great, the only concern I have is their tuna. Sometimes the tuna is super grainy, sometimes is super fishy, but everything else is fresh and delicious. Their rolls are great and if you're a fan of scallops, their scallops nigiri (hotate) is a must! I always ordered it alongside my chirashi bowl read more

musashi's is a go-to place for many asian-americans in bellevue, and the small restaurant can get relatively crowded on a weekday evening. it's a no-frills restaurant -- you order at the front from a simple menu. the chirashi bowl is a favorite, with generous portions of fish and rice. there aren't many vegetable options so we paired it with some skewers. the fish quality is alright, but at least they are thick slices. read more

Bad customer service. I went in to order food at like 8:50. They told me they won't take my order because they aren't open. Yet somehow I walked right in and I was there during posted open hours. People don't have issues with being not open or taking a long time or making mistakes. It's all about setting expectation correctly to the client. Musashi's is a place that strictly survives on their product but not on their customer service. For some like myself, it's a large part of the restaurant experience. I mean why else is there a tip option every where now. The correct response was like I apologize that we can't take your order today. Due to "insert some good reason" the hours posted or the fact the door is open is a fluke. Promise you all one has to do is open a place like this with the same caliber of food and then just offer an unprecedented level of service and it will just completely outcompete musashi. read more

This is the place if you are craving for some decent sushi but don't wanna spend a fortune or making reservations 5 months ahead!! This is not the best sushi you will ever have. Overall their food is 3.5/5, but their price makes it 5/5!! The chirashi bowl came with 6 kinds of fish, fish roe, shrimp and some scallops. Only$18!! Unagi bowl was decent and fulfill my crave. The seared salmon and fatty tuna were my favorite. Tasty and genuine price. The chicken skewer was just ok but at least it wasn't dry. I couldn't remember when was the last time I spend less than $30 for sushi. I was happy and satisfied. read more

***Note: Musashis IS OPEN during COVID (call ahead to order) and are taking CHECK ONLY at this time. Musashi's is one of my favorite places for quality Japanese food, namely their generous chirashi bowl. I've been coming here (and their Wallingford location) for at least 8 years. Their chirashi bowl contains salmon, two types of tuna, scallop, unagi (eel), and seared tuna. You can also customize your chirashi bowl if you want more or less of certain fish. They're about $16 a piece (price might've gone up), but two to three chirashis is more than enough for four people! This is my family's second time getting chirashi takeout here during the pandemic. The first time, the fish was so fresh, it just melted in our mouths. This most recent time though, the fish didn't have that same consistency leaving us a little disappointed. They gave us the usual amount of fish though, leaving us with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow! My one complaint though is that social distancing measures were NOT followed when we came to pick up the food today. People were sitting inside the restaurant waiting for their orders and were not wearing masks- note that this location is maybe 400 square feet and is therefore very cramp. Because of this, we ended up staying in the car until the line decreased. I hope that Musashi's will take initiative and deliver to cars instead of having customers wait in the facility. Overall: 4/5 for food, 2/5 for health measures read more

You aren't going to find any fancy sushi rolls here and that's why I like it! This place is cash only which I'm fine with because it keeps the costs low. I always get a salmon avocado roll & and a few pieces of sashimi. If I'm super hungry you can't go wrong with the chirashi bowl here which is the best deal you're going to get. As far as the "grill" items, I'm not the biggest fan of the chicken but I love the veggie skewer. It can be a bit busy to dine-in as it is very small and also popular, so be prepared to wait a little. I usually order to-go which is always fast and fresh. read more

We've been to this Musashi's before and it's always good. It's a small restaurant; maybe 10 tables in all consisting of 2 and 4 tops We usually get the Chirashi bowl. It has a great assortment of fish; high quality and good value. The staff is polite and efficient. They don't take reservations so be ready to wait a few minutes. But it is worth the wait. read more

We were in town and saw all the great reviews, so we had to stop by! We are always on the prowl for good sushi. We opted for the chirashi bowls and they did not disappoint! You really can't get price/value better than Musashi's. Great cuts of fish that were fresh and super generous - and under $20??? STEAL! PARKING: Located in a small plaza, so parking is available but there are only a handful of spaces right in front of the restaurant. Otherwise, free lot parking. INSIDE: Relatively small dining area inside, probably around 8-10 tables. Recommend ordering takeout (which a lot of people seemed to do) or avoid the meal periods. read more

This has to be one of the best values out there for a chirashi bowl. I enjoy the amount of salmon and tuna they include with every bowl. The fish doesn't smell fishy the rice is perfectly seasoned and this is a dish I have ordered time and time again. Oh Musashi's, how I love thee! Before I get into my review, I have to let you all know, it's CASH or check only, so make sure to bring the green! Whenever I'm craving for sashimi or sushi at an affordable price on the Eastside, I'm always going to Musashi. Most of the time, I can never get passed ordering the Chirashi Bowl when I'm by myself. There's so much fish and rice, it makes for a hearty lunch or dinner. Did you know you could customize or substitute out certain fish as well? Usually, I'll ask to substitute out the albacore for Seared Salmon. For $15.50, the Chirashi Bowl is a good value. I had a discussion with one of my friends about this and I probably will continue paying for this until they raise it up to $18. That's probably my cutoff point. Other than the Chirashi Bowl, they also make really good sushi rolls as well. Whenever I'm with friends, we order sushi rolls and nigiri to share for the table. I highly recommend two of their specials, the Chu Toro Nigiri and the Musashi Roll, California Roll topped with Spicy Tuna, Flying Fish Roll, Green Onion, and House Spicy Mayo. The House Spicy Mayo is creamy and tangy and goes really well with the California Rolls. The Chu Toro is the fatty tuna as advertised. Definitely silkier in flavor than other tuna sashimi. It's worth ordering. Granted, the quality of fish at Musashi's isn't as high as the other high end sushi spots in Seattle. However, your wallet won't feel it as much. Most of my meals here don't exceed beyond $20 and that's pretty good in my books. I'll continue to come here whenever I'm craving a Chirashi Bowl. read more

An old favorite of mine, Musashi's is a great value spot for some sushi. A small hole in the wall close to T-Mobile campus, you can get reasonably fresh fish for a pretty reasonable price. Their chirashi bowl is one of my favorites in town with a great variety (though you can ask to customize it a little more). While recently it's been outshone slightly by Seattle Fish Guys, Musashi's is always a great place to visit on the East side. Just be aware that sometimes it does get a little busy and the venue isn't very large. read more

Service was very good with tea at the table before we even sat down. The staff at the counter to order was very friendly. It didn't take long to get our food. There were about ten tables with metal chairs. Music was playing and the small area they have was lined around the walls with the tables. The sushi rolls were pretty dry so they lose a star for that. The nigiri was great and the tea as well. They had chilled glasses available for water and other drinks. I don't think I'll be back but it was a decent experience at the time read more

I was fairly surprised to find this little sushi gem on my visit to Seattle. The service, quality and price exceeded my expectations. We were seated as soon as we walked into the door and complimentary hot tea was provided. The food is ordered in the front and paid at the same time. The sushi came out faster than expected to our pleasant surprise. Everything was delicious and I would definitely recommended the nigiri selections, it was definitely my favorite part of the meal. This is a great place to satisfy your sushi fix without breaking the bank. I would definitely visit again on my next trip to Seattle!! *** Also important side note, they were previously a cash only place but they now take cards so yay to that!! *** read more

Wow. I'd like to tell you right now, I feel this place owes me a big refund!! We had ordered two of their dinner Bentos and other dishes . The bentos came with chicken on a skewer and beef on a skewer, rice, and some sad looking sashimi (3 pieces). Although we ordered a total of 8 dinners, they told us we could only have 6 tiny containers of spicy Mayo. CHEAPSKATES! Let's talk about the Bentos. The meat on both dinners looked so dry, I was afraid to try it. Well, I did try it and practically choked on the meat. It was sooo dry, a cactus wouldn't survive if that meat was desert sand. I scraped that dry meat into the trash. Would not give it to anyone else at our house. Why make them suffer? I am telling my family and friends to go elsewhere. This place doesn't care about quality. Customizable Chirashi Bowls, generous thick slices of fish (though not always the absolute freshest), & great Chirashi price of $16.50. Cash or Check only. Very limited seating. 4* Freshness seems inconsistent between very fresh fish (yay, glad we came feel) and just mediocre fish (wondering if it's from the previous day's & regretting). The great price keeps me returning hoping for luck that day. 3* Specials Chirashi here has thick slices of fresh salmon, tuna, yellowtail, albacore, broiled eel, scallops, flying fish roe $16.50 Customizable Chirashi requested only the fresh salmon, yellowtail, broiled eel, flying fish roe.. $16.50. Twice was amazing 5* but today the salmon was not fresh & eel was too cold so 3.5* A La Carte Chicken (1 skewer) has nice smoky taste but not juicy (premade/packaged?) $2.50. 4* Beef (1 skewer) was tough $2.95 3* Tea there is complimentary tea in a thermos already at the table, albeit lukewarm 4* Ambience because of limited seating, especially at weekday lunchtime, feel slightly rushed to finish when there's a line of people waiting in the small eatery. One of my favorite--if not my favorite--places for sushi! I went to Musashi's with my mom for lunch on a Thursday noon, and we were surprised to find a lot of empty seats and booths open. Normally, I've found Musashi's always packed, but it was nice to be immediately seated. Atmosphere is cozy--tight, small space, wooden furniture. Service is fine--nothing special. Honestly servers were not extraordinarily welcoming in anyway, so I'd say service is average. Aside from the above, however, the food is what really shines through. Lunch and dinner both have a plethora of simple, no-fluff options that are generous in portion and delicious. I ordered the salmon and spicy tuna maki (only $3.50 each!), while my mother ordered a Chirashi Bowl ($15.50). The food is very large in size, and the Chirashi Bowl is customizable which makes it even better. HUGE FISH PORTIONS. Definitely worth every penny. I was full after those two rolls, and you can taste the freshness and quality of the food. Overall, food is definitely a 11/10--amazing taste, portions, and prices. Service is average (food served very quickly which is great, but didn't feel exactly welcomed like an average restaurant). I definitely recommend this place for people in the area--Musashi's is worth the drive and the money for their great food. read more

We have been coming here for years, have ordered to go and have dined inside many times. Their sushi had christened many of our family parties. We love this place, until recently. I hope this can serve as constructive comment as I truly hope it can bounce back. We came here couple weeks ago and also ordered Togo last night. Picked up takeout from here this weekend. This would be a great place to take hungry teenagers for lots of sushi. And maybe the food is better consumed at the crowded and functional restaurant rather than bringing home. Positives: Generous portions - really, really large portions, big slabs of fish. I don't think I've ever seen sushi and sashimi this big, ever: three bite sushi. Easy ordering, easy to find restaurant. Fast and helpful service. Line moved quickly. Not so great: Inedible beef teriyaki for the non-fish-eater (blackened, impossibly chewy, and cold); they ended up just eating the rice. Miso soup was also cold, not yummy, and tossed. We weren't wildly enthusiastic about the fish in the sushi and sashimi, and even though we had a lot of food, and everyone was hungry, we ended up not eating all of it and feeling sad and wasteful. read more

A friend had recommended me the chirashi bowl and when I finally got to experience it myself I was not impressed. The taste of the fish was not as strong as I had expected. Some of the salmon was grey. Overall, not a memorable eating experience. They only accept cash and while I am willing to NOT knock off points if a joint is sooo good that it justifies being cash only, I didn't think this place met that level of goodness. I would probably not return here for another meal. There was nothing really about my first experience that made me want to come again. Even if friends recommended coming here together I can picture us ruling here out, with the simple question of, does everyone have cash? read more

Hubby and I were frequent patrons prior to pandemic. We now order in-person and wait outside for about 15 minutes. They do not text-when-ready. Consider trying this place because it's inexpensive for fair-quality sushi. Located in Factoria Village mall, there's lots of parking. There are very few seats, the service is usually efficient if not always friendly, the sushi is inconsistent in quality, rolls are cut unevenly, and the rolls often unravel. Despite the flaws, we like the chirashi bowl, salmon and avocado rolls, CA rolls, and unagi-maki. I tried the BLT roll - it's like a tuna salad roll, and I liked the crunch of lettuce but wet tomato has no place in rolled sushi. Have also tried the cheese roll which seems to have canned salmon, cucumber and cream cheese - I will not get again. If value is a priority, this place is a must. read more

Must know: this restaurant is pretty cozy. And by that, I mean small. But it's worth coming to. Best time to come in is right at 5pm when they open for dinner. From word of mouth, I had high hopes for a nearby sushi place. But I was so disappointed! Came here for a mid-week lunch and had already pre-chosen to order the chirashi lunch. Looked pretty but unfortunately that's all it was. IMO, the sushi rice was a bit under seasoned but the real travesty was the fish. Did not seem as fresh as it should be. Ate the salmon, tuna and himachi. Avoided the eel and mackerel just cuz I don't like either. Honestly, I was disappointed by the texture and taste. Hole-in-the-wall? Yes. Small space? Yes. Wait time for table? Yes. Reasonable prices? YES! Good sushi? -- GREAT sushi! Can't describe my love for this place. I've been coming here for years whenever I'm in Bellevue pretty much annually. Though over the years, the prices have increased a bit and the sashimi cuts have become smaller, it's still quite a steal and worth your buck if you want a great quality sushi fix. It's seriously the best deal out there in the PNW. The original location in Wallingford, Seattle is just as amazing. Go for the Chirashi bowls as most yelpers have already suggested. One benefit is you can customize it however you like. I like mine to include at least half all salmon, the other half all seared salmon. When I bring my friends they usually get the original. The crab salad is also amazing with clear noodle pieces that make it taste so yummy. They also offer great sashimi like seared sake, hamachi and fatty tuna (my faves!) and awesome sushi rolls! Parking is a bit tough in both Seattle and Bellevue locations. Seattle, gotta find street parking but the Bellevue location is located in a small plaza, tucked away. Still difficult to find parking at times during peak hours and the plaza parking might get full. Definitely worth it though! read more

Tucked away on the side of a main strip mall, Musashi is a very small store with quite a lot of good quality sushi to offer. I came here with 2 other people on Tuesday for lunch and there was still a wait. There are approx. 15 tables total in the restaurant, mostly seating up to party of 4. My friends and I each ordered a chirashi bowl and a beef and a chicken skewer to share. What I liked about this place is they let you customize the type of fish you can put on the bowl. I opted for broiled eel, salmon belly, and tuna. Their sushi slices are very thick, so each bite was full and juicy. Their salmon belly was very soft and tuna tasted fresh also. For the price, I thought it was very fair. I wish there were more embellishments such as mushrooms or miso soup, etc. However you can't ask for much and this place definitely has the basics down. One note - this place is CASH ONLY!! they also take checks but no cards accepted. read more

Oh my goodness. I'm sad I took so long to come here. In college I was a regular at the Wallingford location but never made it this way due to fears of traffic and a long wait time, but one day I came in close to closing time and was treated to the most fresh, delicious chirashi bowl... The salmon, albacore, tuna and yellow tail were generously sized and sliced, rice was cooked and seasoned perfect and the fish just melted in my mouth...of course the scallops, roe and shrimp were good too, but I was impressed at the quality and cut of fish we were given, especially that close to closing...and I was thinking about the fish for hours afterwards. Musashi's is a solid sushi spot with an unbeatable price point. For ~$15, I ordered the chirashi bowl which was loaded with tons of fresh fish and yummy sushi rice at the bottom. I liked that they had tea readily available at each table so you didn't need to wait on service very much. And of course, make sure you bring cash/check because they don't take cards.
