I recently had my transmission rebuilt on my Nissan Sentra. Upon completion, my car just wasn't right. It was jerking a little on occasion during acceleration and I couldn't tell if it was the transmission or the engine. I phoned Rick immediately and told him I would be returning with the car. I bought a used 2010 Acura TL in 2023. It always made noise and I assumed it was the tires but even with new tires the noise was still there. I took it in to Bear Alignment because I thought my wheel bearings were going out and they said the noise was coming from the transmission. They told me to walk over to see Rick. Best thing I did for my car. The transmission bearings were rubbing and overheating from the friction and would have to be rebuilt. It was a big job and it took 7 days. When Rick called me to come and pick up the car, he also told me that there was still a slight noise and all four of my struts needed to be replaced so it was back in the shop for another few days. Rick sent the car back over to Bear for the alignment and after buying new tires, my 2010 Acura is running like the champ at 10,400 miles! This is my last car.. not sure how many years of driving I have left but I want to be in a safe vehicle. Rick is a total professional and he runs a tight shop! Needed my transmission serviced for my 65 Chevy C20. The truck has a newer 1991 engine and transmission--4L80E. Rick wanted me to drop it off in the morning and pick up later in the day. Took my car in for transmission repair and was given a fair quote for the transmission but Rick also insisted I have the turbo fixed as well. I let him know an additional $2500 was not in my budget. Ended up not doing the turbo repair but had the transmission repaired. When I drove the car home it was very sluggish without power, I assumed this was normal because he mentioned the turbo needed repair. Check Engine light was also on, which was not when I took it in. It's now been a month and I happen to be looking under the car and see this. Really upset I have been driving like this with the turbo hose unplugged. They might know transmissions, but NEVER EVER allow them to service your rear differential!! I thought they'd do a decent job, but HELL NO! First thing, subpar reassembly of the cover - started leaking like a sieve after only a few months! Now, while attempting to remove the fill plug, (the gorilla they had doing this job, must have torqued the plug to hundred and thirty ft-lbs, instead of (spec)THIRTY ft-lbs AND they used thread locker!!!), I've completely destroyed the plug and STILL cannot get it to loosen!! I. Am. PISSED!!! Can't rate ZERO stars, so they're lucky to get one! read more

I contacted Rick and described how my transmission was acting. It would start off in second gear from a stop and then slam into third gear very hard. It would do that a couple of times first thing in the morning and then be ok. In addition to that the check engine/transmission light came on. I asked if I could bring the car in so he could diagnose the problem. He diagnosed the problem as a bad pressure switch for third gear. He acquired a new switch from the dealer, changed the transmission fluid and solved the problem. He didn't try to sell me on anything more than the work he did. His knowledge and ethics impressed me. I don't think anyone wants or plans for a transmission issue, however if it does happen, hands-down Rick at Murrieta Transmission is the person to go see. We were referred to Rick by our normal mechanic, when it was determined that my wife's car had transmission issues. Rick was nothing short of phenomenal. He explained our options thoroughly, including taking me back into his shop to show me on a torn down transmission what the possible issues could be. Through the repair process, he kept us up-to-date and in the end I believe we paid a fair price. There were a couple of other small issues that needed to be addressed, however he only charged for parts, saving us a bit on labor, since the transmission was already out.
