This place is wonderful! I generally go to the dealer for my oil changes and vehicle services. This time I decided to try a local small business and I'm so glad I did. They were able to schedule the date and time that I wanted and when I got there I was quickly greeted and my service was underway. The customer service was excellent and the prices are so affordable. It was great to find out that they include in their oil change, services and inspections that I generally have to pay extra for on the normal maintenance minders. Honesty is a rare thing you find in people these days. There's always those who want to get the upper hand. Pull a quick one on you to gain the advantage in one form or another, especially when it comes to car mechanics. But once in a blue moon and during an eclipse, you find a mechanic who feels that being honest is the utmost important thing when dealing with customers and their cars. Case in point. For the past couple of weeks whenever I'd hit a speed bump or a pothole, my passenger front tire, which I thought it was my shocks, would make a loud thump/ banging sound. When I moved out to this area from Huntington Beach, CA., I didn't know how I was going to commute back and forth to my wonderful mechanic out there. The time included in driving roundtrip in addition to handing over my car for hours, would not be a doable plan for me. Only a few months after moving, I was told by someone during an oil change, that my brakes were bad and already scratching the roters visibly. Now I knew that my mechanic in HB had replaced them just under a year ago but I do, do a lot of driving. I knew I wasn't going to get them fixed right there on the spot so I decided to do a little research for a few days first. I joined some of the Community pages that were local to this area via Facebook. I happened to see a current post on a local page asking around for an honest Mechanic. So I followed the post. On that one post Scott Spahr with Full Throttle Auto was referred countless times. He was given more compliments as far as honesty, ethics and decent prices go. I decided to give him a call. I knew from all the referrals, that I could probably trust him to give me a decent deal on my brakes. My appointment was the next day and when I booked it, I gave over the info to my car and asked for a quote ahead of time on the brakes. I came in there expecting to wait around an hour or two, to have my brakes installed. To my surprise, Scott looked at my car, called me back over to it and showed me that my brakes were just fine, in fact he said they had "a lot of life left on them". It turns out I didn't even need new brakes. This guy, could have easily had a $600 appointment out of me but he choose instead to be honest and not fix something that wasn't broken. I have never been in this situation before. Turned away from a mechanic because my car was fine. He did check my fluids before I left and said I was a little low on oil and he could add some for me. At this point you can see how that was my first and last time trying to find a mechanic. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. The shop is not large or fancy with a great waiting room like some of the other shops. Do you know why? It's because he is honest, doesn't rack up a lot of charges and tries to helps others as much as he possibly can. They will even offer to help you get back home if needed, or set up a payment plan, if you can't afford to get your car fixed. Every other review of his is outstanding. If you ever come across a bad review of this guy, it's only bc good people, often get taken advantage of and walked on. When they can't get away with it, they often lash out. At the end of the day, Some People are in business to make money. Some people are in business doing what they love and helping others while just making enough to survive.
