Have been going here for about a decade, and we love the doctors (though it seems there has been some recent turnover). Unfortunately, reduced hours and a new policy of keeping the door locked and forcing people to call from the parking lot makes Murrieta Optometry less friendly. And also means more people crowded into the tiny space because of the shorter hours. Getting help when buying glasses or contacts, or even when simply trying to pick them up, can often result in a lengthy wait. read more

From friendly staff, clean office space and a wide variety of frames to choose from- how could you not be excited? Dr Moore has always made me feel like she's had my best interest at heart and is incredibly thorough with her examination. I must admit I always run out of the room to pick my frames and Sergey took his time to help with any questions I had. I left happily knowing I was taken care of and can't wait for them to call me when my stylish frames arrive. If you're not already a patient the only question that remains is why aren't you? I have always appreciated how thorough they have been here. Glasses ordered and they call you to come get them. My daughter and I both go here, she lives in Livermore and I in San Jose as of last year. We went to our appointment ordered our glasses. They kept texting me that Madison's glasses were ready. I went on vacation, came back and called. They said your glasses have been here two weeks after your appt. When I told them the issue, they said oh ya we were texting Madison that her glasses were ready, sorry about that. People make mistakes, hope it doesn't happen again. read more

I dropped in without an appointment on April 29th in hopes of having some lenses made to fit frames I already have. The reception staff was friendly and was able to get me right in. The Optician was so incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. She handled my request and was attentive to the details involved. I'm usually reluctant to visit, most likely due to denial of needing glasses, but she made it so comfortable for me that it should not be an issue in the future. After more than 40 years of perfect treatment at Murrieta Optometry, we have nothing at all to complain about. We've especially appreciated their caring approach and excellent diagnosis of a genetic problem one of our children had. They even helped my late mother who was a difficult patient for others but not for them. She had a hard time accepting the normal losses due to age. We have moved away now but are confident of their continuing care for our son. A special thanks to Marshall and Scott for so many years of good care, and a shout-out to Dr. Moore, who figured things out for me lately. Worthy of note is that these guys always have the latest diagnostics. The DNA of this goes back to Marshall, who once showed me his DVR when I'd never seen one but he had several already. Love this place! The staff are super friendly and informative. They have a ton of selection of frames to choose from. They were extremely patient with me while I was choosing my new frames. It's always the hardest part for me since it's a two year commitment with my insurance. They didn't pressure me to choose anything but they gave me their honest opinion. The exams were quick and extremely informative. I go to a new optometrist every two years but this time I think I've found one I'll be going to again. I am writing this review in addition to the original one I posted a few months ago. I had a detached retina and another surgery on my right eye, and therefore, my vision has never been good in this eye, even with a corrective lens; that is until I saw Dr. Kamena. He seems more like an ophthalmologist than an optometrist because he is so knowledgeable . He worked patiently and tirelessly with me and tried different prescriptions until he found one which worked. In fact, I can see better now than I ever have. Trisha is also very caring and knowledgeable. Since I had had so many issues with my lenses, she even went with me outside so I could see if I was able to see. He took all the time I needed to discuss my concerns. He and his staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The office equipment included an OCT retinal scan which was important for me. I went here at the recommendation my sister gave me years ago. Unfortunately I am on state medi-cal at the moment. Usually I have benefits through my employer but due to my health I am currently not able to work. I was not aware (until after the fact) that an intern was doing the first few parts of my exam. It showed my eye pressure was 27 in one eye and 28 in another. I was really worried because my mom had high pressure an to have surgery. It was suggested I have another test to check for glaucoma, which wasn't covered and was $39 so I did that. After being roomed I waited for the optometrist who is very kind and thorough. However that's when it was mentioned the first person who did my other testing was an intern. The optometrist caught that he made an error when checking my existing glasses. I then talked about my pressure and he said he would double check it. Thank goodness it was only 20 in both eyes. So I didn't need that extra $39 exam. Not working currently I could really could have used those funds elsewhere. read more
