Complimentary breakfast delivered to my room

If you want to feel pampered on your vacation, look no further than Murphys Suites! Such a well appointed room and the staff are all very accommodating and genuinely care about my experience at the hotel and in the charming town of Murphys! Plus, you can't beat complimentary fresh donuts and juice delivered to your room!

Bitter Suite Came up for a quick overnight vacation and booked a room here thru Southwest.com (i.e., booking.com) for $250 (normally $180, but I paid extra for 5k SW points) for a two queen room. The Good: *Great location only a few miles from DT Murphys and a gas station/liquor store right next door. *WiFi didn't test great speed-wise but was reliable and didn't break connection. *Complimentary Breakfast Burrito and fresh-made mini donuts (available in cinnamon-sugar, plain and powdered sugar). *Fast and efficient check-in *Vending machine that had decent prices *Ice machine (while this seems like a no-brainer, we've stayed in places recently that didn't have one). *Fitness center, spa and pool (didn't use can't comment) *Fridge and microwave in-room *Recently renovated rooms, but you can tell they only did certain things and not a total remodel. *Mattresses were a bit firm for our liking, but despite that, I actually slept pretty well. The Meh: *Complimentary breakfast of frozen breakfast burrito and "housemade" mini donuts was kind of a joke. The burrito was awful; Carissa took one bite and threw it out. The donuts, however, were actually decent, but I'm not sold on them being "homemade." *43" Westinghouse® HDTV, which is a bit small for the room and the signal (satellite?) was terrible. Hardly HD quality *No guide available on the TV so practically impossible to figure out what to watch without channel surfing. Also, a real PiTa to figure out the channels themselves. *Concierge was friendly enough but a kind of weirdt; hard to put my finger on it but just had a weird vibe to him. *In-room coffee is awful (Maxwell House®) so be prepared. They do have coffee available in the lobby, but they keep it behind the counter, and I'm up at ungodly hours and don't want to be a bother. *Soft-serve ice cream in the lobby. I saw the machine, but they didn't put the sign up until the following morning??? I assumed it was non-operational. :'( It would've been nice if the Concierge pointed this out upon check-in, but like I said, he was a bit weirdt. *Carpet in the rooms is kind of gross. Don't be like me and forget your chanclas at home. :-/ *Not Pet-friendly The Ugly: *Super stingy with the soap and shampoo. Gave us 2T of shampoo and one 2" diameter bar of soap to use for both the bath and sink. Not even enough to wash my balls properly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ TLDR: Not bad, but not great, just somewhere right in the middle. Overall, it's probably 3.5* but rounded-down for the soap stinginess.

We stayed at Murphys Suites when we visited Big Trees. Upon checking in, we discovered that we could receive a frozen breakfast burrito or some homemade mini donuts for breakfast. I had the former, my friend had the latter. It was an El Monterey breakfast burrito. I wasn't that disappointed because I wasn't expecting breakfast. I tried one of the donuts. It was good but not off the scale good. Orange juice came in a 4 ounce carton. It reminded me of elementary school. The room was quiet, pretty spacious, and clean. But due to COVID they weren't servicing the room daily. I though the public health emergency was over? I liked having two sinks in the junior suites. It's really useful when two people share a room. The clock in the room was totally off, not by a few hours but by hours and minutes. I had to google the instructions for the clock to reset it. My only nitpicks were that the rooms could have used more available power outlets, and there was no channel guide for the TV. I had to use Zap2it (wifi worked really well) to look up what was on which channel.

Murphy suites knows how to lay out the welcome mat. Everything was perfect except for the beds. Their staff is so gracious especially Ashley, Bunny and Esperanza. They made this stay, especially worth it! The manager, Mike helped connect the dots for our lodging in the future there. We will definitely return to Murphy suites. A special shout out of thanks Bunny for saving my down pillow!

Simple elegant decor, upgraded TVs!

Super convenient location, great price, and great staff! All the staff I encountered during our stay were polite, friendly, and took pride in their work. That was refreshing! The hotel is kept up nicely and has charm to it! The location seems close to everything. They upgraded the TVs- woohoo! The BEST part for me was the complimentary breakfast room service! We chose the homemade donuts- so happy we did! They tasted amazing!! You get to choose from four kinds. I didn't get a picture- they disappeared too quickly! LOL. I would love to stay here again when we come for another visit. I just hope they keep offering those donuts!

Solid hotel in Murphy's, Ca if you have kids I highly highly recommend you get the suite with separate rooms. The had a living space with a pull out couch and a doorway leading into the bedroom with two double beds. While we put our twins to bed, we able to chill in the living room leaving them time to settle down quietly in a new space without any distractions. Upon arrival and check in they offer everyone delivery of homemade donuts (sugar, cinnamon, or powder) with orange juice or coffee. Very nice but not a continental breakfast for sure. The suite has a Keurig machine with Starbucks coffee and was fine. Service was slow at check-in but only a negative due to restless antsy twins ready for bed jumping. All-in-all I would definitely come here again.

I booked a 2 night stay at Murphy's Suites to enjoy some time up in the mountain wilderness. The hotel was clean, lots of parking, had friendly staff, and was a pleasant stay. When walking into the hotel, there was the fresh smell of pine trees, and in the early morning, cool smokey air like when you go camping during the winter. I liked the amenities in the room. The room was a spacious 2 room suite with each room having its own TV. There was a kitchenette with a microwave, sink, and fridge. Best part was that the room was spotless. Everything was so clean. The hotel is situated near the beautiful main street of Murphy, so with a nice walk, there is access to small shops and restaurants. The shops are warm and inviting to visit. Would highly recommend for a relaxing stay.

Spacious room with a kitchen area that has a wet bar sink, mini fridge and microwave... along with cabinets for storage

The Cottages at La Honda Park - The barn --- what a great place!

A very comfortable and quiet little cottage. Although, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower. There are no tvs in the cottages and the WiFi is a little dodgy. Cell phone reception isn't the best either. I think what I am getting at is that you can really disconnect when you say at La Honda Park. You are forced to communicate with your loved ones. The cottages are only equipped with a microwave. If you want to cook something more robust, there is a communal kitchen in the pool house. Believe me, it has everything you need. Also, there are bbqs in just about every common area. Aside from the beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations, there is the barn. The barn is probably the best part about this place. It has a foosball table, a pool table, poker table, dart board, and a tv. The back doors slide open to a small seating area overlooking Angel Creek. I can't describe it. You just need to experience. The owner are Jenn and Barr. They were so nice. Once we checked in, they left us alone. In fact, they left the property. Besides my family, there was another family staying in the Main House. They were very nice and welcoming. I can't wait to go back and sit next to the creek and drink my morning coffee.

A gaggle of girlfriends rented three cottages here, as three of us were celebrating our 40th/41st birthdays. The perfect "home base" for staging an attack upon Murphys downtown shopping, dining and wine tasting establishments, or as a leap-off point for local hikes and the gorgeous Moaning and Mercer Caverns. Each cottage is appointed with a gas-fueled faux wood-stove fireplace (easy operation via thermostat), fridge, micro, coffee maker, basic silverware/plates/cups, wonderful showers (great for power-washing off the mud and sweat after a day of rappelling and spelunking!) and extremely comfortable queen beds. Each cottage has its own character, giving the feel of the kind of decor a favorite aunt might select for your family's personal mountain cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable! Hang out by the fire, or chill out on your own front porch overlooking the lawn and creek. Or... ...head over to The Barn, a communal recreation room appointed with an air-hockey table, pool table, kitchen area (including a wine fridge!) and big-screen satellite TV/sat radio. The Barn was recently remodeled, using reclaimed barnwood, corrugated metal (for the ceiling sub-roof) and a pretty brilliant wallcovering that looks like warm old plaster, but is actually recycled craft paper and some sort of natural varnish. Cool! Also, a few relics from the region's mining days. There are board games, darts, books and other stuff to keep the individual, family or small group entertained. There's a large swimming pool (unheated in winter) and a small wading pool adjacent to another community kitchen and outdoor picnic area, and the only thing this area lacks is a hot tub. (Hint, hint!) Finally, there's Cosmo, the biggest, sweetest cat you'll ever want to kidnap. He's not allowed in the cabins, but he'll happily keep you company as you read a book on the porch, or wander up to the beautiful waterfalls behind the barn. He'll also keep score if you want to use the bocce court or horseshoe pits! Parking is limited, so don't expect to haul in ATV trailers or your RVs, but that's about the only con to this wonderful little family-run resort!

Between the challenge with checking in and getting a room at 3p on a Wednesday, to the permeating smell of weed in the hallways (and I'm not anti weed at all, but it's really strong), to the obvious aging of the fixtures, to the unsecured back door (had to move in the middle of the night as apparently the easiest way in is to open the deadbolt on the back door and let it bang on the doorframe which bounces like a small earthquake to the rooms above) bc of one of the worker's boyfriends needs easy access (??) to the inability to request towels upon day 3 bc "there's other people checking in and we need to supply the rooms" .. it's just kind of a mess. I will say that after I asked about the deadbolt door banging/room rattling issue I was somewhat easily moved to another room in the middle of the night by an individual who acted surprised that this was happening but come to find out it sounds like it was her boyfriend needing access to the motel... I don't want to support Airbnb but after this experience I probably will. I really wanted to be ok with this place but after 72 hours of being here I wish I stayed elsewhere. You literally get what you pay for here so you've been forewarned. The word *motel* gives it away.

We were looking for a safe and fun place for a family reunion. Somewhere I could actually bring all of our extended family.. Karl, our host disappeared after showing us all the amenities. He lives nearby and showed up swiftly when I had trouble lighting a fire in the living room. They were always willing to listen to any questions we had and were always checking in along the way. The freedom of the venue really pulls you in because it offered that blank canvas of possibilities and that is what we wanted because I love a challenge and had a very clear image of how I wanted my wedding to look like. Again, thank you Carl and staff for a beautiful and memorable venue.
