Nicely upgraded, modern rooms. Both the mattress and pillow were quite comfortable. And the shower was great - roomy and with good water pressure. New AC unit, HDTV, microwave, and mini fridge.

Celebrating on our private patio of our hotel suite. So tranquil and clean.

Only a few rooms are modern, others dated but still enjoyed my stay. Love the prime rib at restaurants, plus friendly service. Staff went over and beyond call of duty for us. Darlene at front desk is always helpful and patient! Love how this hotel is at the center of town. Plus creek and park behind hotel is added bonus. My kid loved playing in water at creek. As did I! So relaxing..

6 oz sirloin with a baked potato (upgrade).

What a dinner! My friends and I decided to get a nice dinner together and we were not disappoint! This historic and unique place had a touch of history and luxury. Our server was very nice and had a bit of humor as well. If you are from out of town, I would definitely recommend this place for dinner. There are also many areas for wine tasting and fun! I ordered the calamari for myself appetizer and I think it was one of the best calamari I have ever had. For my meal, I ordered the 6 oz sirloin - medium rare - and upgraded to a fully loaded baked potato. I highly recommend for everyone to check this place out! Will I be back, YES!

    Spring salad. Delicious.

TASTY OR WASTEY? Absolutely tasty!!! Took a drive to Murphy's. By the time we got there, we we're so hungry. We walked into the quaint little hotel, and were seated outdoors on the patio. We had the summer greens salad (AMAZING) the best salad I've had in a long time. And, I eat salad at least 3xs a week. We shared the French dip, which was a perfect size for an early lunch. What a hidden gem. I would definitely drive back just for the salad. Our waitress was very nice, and attentive. I highly recommend this place.

During our travels we had seen this place before. Well on this trip we made a point to stay here. The staff was super friendly. I had called ahead reserved a room. They were very accommodating. I had a small dog no problem staying in the historic inn. The rooms were reasonably priced. They were well decorated clean, with nice bathing area. We had a small balcony off of our room and they brought us chairs to sit out there. The restaurant which is attached has excellent food, the bar is nice and our visit was one of the best times we have ever had. So please do try and plan your stay I know you'll love it.

Stopped off here before heading home. Had a couple bloody Mary's and tomato beers. Football game was on and is a cool place to hang out. This is our go-to when we visit Murphys.

This place was freaking awesome! My wife and I had dinner here tonight and wow. We started out with the baked bree and it was super good. For dinner I had the 12oz prime rib and my wife had the pork loin. Both of our meals were perfect! I know Gordan Ramsey cam and ripped this place apart a few years ago and I still think the owners are doing what they want but there doing it right! If your looking for a really good place for dinner in Murphys this is the place to be. I'm also a total history buff so after dinner we went upstairs and checked out all the old rooms I was impressed. Murphys Hotel is an all around a cool place.

Price- affordable and great value. Coffee in front lobby was smooth Free breakfast not advertised on booking.com- donuts vs breakfast burritos + OJ. Also provided for our toddler and infant but no extra room charge for them. Clean rooms. No smoking allowed in ANY room so we didn't accidentally get a disgusting smoking room. Has sauna we didn't try. Reception was helpful and friendly. Free ice cream in lobby. My toddler got 1 daily lol (2 total) Ok: Old furniture esp the recliner, didn't mind it though. Comfortable enough bed / pillow although would appreciate 1 more pillow per bed. Weekend / holiday small town so not many staying on a Mon night. So our donuts were cold and not fresh like other reviews stated. Possibly leftovers? No hot tub due to maintenance. There was not a single plate or utensil in the kitchenette . I was glad that I brought a pocketknife along. A sewage odor was noted at our entrance and we could hear the noise from the room above and on the street at 6 am. The breakfast donuts were plentiful but not freshly baked. I would have loved a freshly baked one over the half a dozen provided. Oh yes, you have to make your own bed !

A very comfortable and quiet little cottage. Although, the bathroom was huge with a walk-in shower. There are no tvs in the cottages and the WiFi is a little dodgy. Cell phone reception isn't the best either. I think what I am getting at is that you can really disconnect when you say at La Honda Park. You are forced to communicate with your loved ones. The cottages are only equipped with a microwave. If you want to cook something more robust, there is a communal kitchen in the pool house. Believe me, it has everything you need. Also, there are bbqs in just about every common area. Aside from the beautiful grounds and comfortable accommodations, there is the barn. The barn is probably the best part about this place. It has a foosball table, a pool table, poker table, dart board, and a tv. The back doors slide open to a small seating area overlooking Angel Creek. I can't describe it. You just need to experience. The owner are Jenn and Barr. They were so nice. Once we checked in, they left us alone. In fact, they left the property. Besides my family, there was another family staying in the Main House. They were very nice and welcoming. I can't wait to go back and sit next to the creek and drink my morning coffee.

A gaggle of girlfriends rented three cottages here, as three of us were celebrating our 40th/41st birthdays. The perfect "home base" for staging an attack upon Murphys downtown shopping, dining and wine tasting establishments, or as a leap-off point for local hikes and the gorgeous Moaning and Mercer Caverns. Each cottage is appointed with a gas-fueled faux wood-stove fireplace (easy operation via thermostat), fridge, micro, coffee maker, basic silverware/plates/cups, wonderful showers (great for power-washing off the mud and sweat after a day of rappelling and spelunking!) and extremely comfortable queen beds. Each cottage has its own character, giving the feel of the kind of decor a favorite aunt might select for your family's personal mountain cabin. Extremely clean and comfortable! Hang out by the fire, or chill out on your own front porch overlooking the lawn and creek. Or... ...head over to The Barn, a communal recreation room appointed with an air-hockey table, pool table, kitchen area (including a wine fridge!) and big-screen satellite TV/sat radio. The Barn was recently remodeled, using reclaimed barnwood, corrugated metal (for the ceiling sub-roof) and a pretty brilliant wallcovering that looks like warm old plaster, but is actually recycled craft paper and some sort of natural varnish. Cool! Also, a few relics from the region's mining days. There are board games, darts, books and other stuff to keep the individual, family or small group entertained. There's a large swimming pool (unheated in winter) and a small wading pool adjacent to another community kitchen and outdoor picnic area, and the only thing this area lacks is a hot tub. (Hint, hint!) Finally, there's Cosmo, the biggest, sweetest cat you'll ever want to kidnap. He's not allowed in the cabins, but he'll happily keep you company as you read a book on the porch, or wander up to the beautiful waterfalls behind the barn. He'll also keep score if you want to use the bocce court or horseshoe pits! Parking is limited, so don't expect to haul in ATV trailers or your RVs, but that's about the only con to this wonderful little family-run resort!

Between the challenge with checking in and getting a room at 3p on a Wednesday, to the permeating smell of weed in the hallways (and I'm not anti weed at all, but it's really strong), to the obvious aging of the fixtures, to the unsecured back door (had to move in the middle of the night as apparently the easiest way in is to open the deadbolt on the back door and let it bang on the doorframe which bounces like a small earthquake to the rooms above) bc of one of the worker's boyfriends needs easy access (??) to the inability to request towels upon day 3 bc "there's other people checking in and we need to supply the rooms" .. it's just kind of a mess. I will say that after I asked about the deadbolt door banging/room rattling issue I was somewhat easily moved to another room in the middle of the night by an individual who acted surprised that this was happening but come to find out it sounds like it was her boyfriend needing access to the motel... I don't want to support Airbnb but after this experience I probably will. I really wanted to be ok with this place but after 72 hours of being here I wish I stayed elsewhere. We don't even drive five and a half hours to visit some relatives. We found it by accident a few years ago on an anniversary trip and liked it so much that we came all the way back just to stay here again. I love this place because it still has that classic 1960s roadside motor lodge feel. Not the "I hope the plumbing works" kind. More like, "This is what a motor lodge would look like if somebody loved it for the last 60 years." Everything is immaculate. The rooms are spotless, the landscaping looks like every blade of grass had a performance review, and they've got a fire pit and cornhole out back. Which is a game I've played for years and still can't believe that's the name everyone agreed on. The people here are just... nice. And not "hotel nice." Actually nice. We know because, on the way up, we hit a deer. That's not part of the amenities, by the way. Suddenly we're wondering if our car is going to be in the shop for days, and the staff immediately started helping us figure out how to extend our stay if we got stranded. They didn't have to do any of that. They just genuinely wanted to help take one more thing off our plate during a pretty stressful day. Thankfully, we made it home, but that little gesture is the kind of thing you remember. There are plenty of hotels where you sleep. This is one where you feel welcome. My wife and I can't wait to come back. Hopefully next time we'll leave the local wildlife out of the itinerary.
