I've eaten here several times, the food is generally very good and it's clean with efficient staff. Would be a 4 star pub if the acoustics weren't so bad, noise level is very high. I'd go during less busy times for a good meal where you can hear the person across from you. read more

One word, AWESOME! The drinks were great and priced extremely low, ($4 for a jack and coke!!!) and they have killer beer on draft. The food specials are off the wall. I had a fiery chicken bbq ranch sandwich and fell in love. If that sandwich had a personality I would have proposed to it. The boneless wings were HUGE and absolutely delicious. Honestly, some of the best "bar food" I've ever had. Huge menu that not only includes the typical pub food, but also great deluxe sandwiches and even prime rib. Always clean and great service. Many TVs and loads of seating. Outdoor patio is great in the summer. If its busy, it sometimes get a bit loud in there (low ceilings), but overall, one of the best places around. Went to Murphys the other night with two of my girlfriends for some drinks. We went straight to the bar and sat down. A few minutes passed and we were greeted by one of the only bartenders. She seemed like we were a bother and came off a little snotty like we were inconveniencing her. One of my girlfriends ordered a mixed drinks which was a little weak but she didn't want to say anything because she felt awkward. Overheard someone call her Kaylee or Hailey just a heads up for other "yelpers" - stay away I've never eaten or been to Murphys, but we saw what other customers had and thought it looked great. We decided to move from the bar and sit down at a table. We were greated by a waitress name jen, she saw we already had drinks and asked if we would like any food, we ordered, waited a few minutes and it came out - very hot, compared to most places (not that that's a bad thing). She was much more pleasurable, she even joked and socialized briefly with us. I plan on returning once I'm back in the area, but only for a Bite to eat. Overall scale 1-10 Bar service - 2 Bar presentation - 10 Food - 10 (pretzel is awesome!) Love this local establishment. Patty Melt is delicious, but the flatbread pizzas are the best! Lots of tbs to watch whatever sporting events are on. They could use one more KENO tv, but other than that I recommend for great night of food and drinks. Chocolate martini is awesome!! Not much of a kids menu, more for adults. read more

Worst bar experience I've ever had. My boyfriend and I won a gift certificate on Halloween to come get a few drinks so we were psyched to go. It was packed and there were two girls bartending who seemed like they wanted to be anywhere but there. They ignored us while we sat waiting to order, and when one of them finally came by she gruffly asked "what do you want?"...no smile, no eye contact. My boyfriend ordered a rum and coke, and she put the glass right in front of him and measured it exactly explaining it was a requirement to measure alcohol exactly, we didn't even ask?! Long story short, BEFORE drinking it he accidentally tipped it over since the bar was slippery, and the bartender said not only could we not be reimbursed for a drink that he didn't even get to drink, but he would have to get something else! So we were going to pay for a drink without even drinking it...this whole time we were trying to talk to the bartenders about this and they both blatantly ignored us, talking amongst themselves while everyone seemed to be waiting for drinks. If you're bartending you should at least pretend to like people. Finally one of them sauntered over and said, " so do you want something else or not?" I was shocked. When we came here before the owner was really personable and the bartenders were welcoming. These girls acted like they hated anyone being there at all. I will never go back, and I always discourage friends and family from going as well. read more

Just left Murphys. Worst service in agawam. Waitress frowned when we said we wanted to dine as well as drink. Paid us little attention. Three of our meals came out. Ten minutes later I went to the bar to ask for ketchup for the first three meals and to find the fourth. Got ketchup. Cancelled the fourth meal as the others were well into their meals. The folks that got food said it was decent. Never saw the waitress again. Someone else dropped our check. I guess we weren't welcome to have a second drink. The receipt said Silvana at the top. I assume that was our waitresses name. She never told us. Thank you Silvana for the terrible service. You should see if Friendlys will take you back. We will never be back. We come here pretty regularly. Foods pretty good, but we just went there for a beer and an appetizer and it was so cold that we had to leave when we would have stayed for another beer. Too bad. I love, love love Murphy's. I love to go after work. The drink menu is extensive and excellent in all areas. The servers are super nice and never judge me for drinking beer with a straw. The music playing is usually really good and almost never country (phew). It's always very clean and never too cold or too warm. I don't eat much on the menu due to my vegetarian ways, but what they do have for my kind is satisfactory. I wouldn't complain if there were more veg options, especially small plate things. Trivia night is amazing. I really can't say enough nice things about Murphy's. Hats off to all the hardworking people there. read more

Had a horrible experience. Service was slow. Pulled pork was dry. Took forever to get drink refills. And I had to look out across the way at somebody swimming in a pool. Need better service - and I remember going to Christo's (the old restaurant there) - what happened to the trees??? They were nice to look at while eating. read more

Stopped in last night for munchies and beer. Started out fantastic, attentive server, clean, happy atmosphere. Had a sampler platter off the appetizer menu, the whiskey glazed wings are wicked good, other deep fried fried foods the whole thing was tasty. Tap beer was ice cold and mixed drink was reasonably priced. Now for the bad, half way through the platter we were ready for refills, it took a very long time to get them to wash the second half of the food down, then took a bit longer to get the check. There seemed to be a lack of leadership, hope they can get a grip on that, overall had a good experience and will stop in again for a real meal. read more

I really like Murphy's. The food is very good quality pub fare and the service is outstanding. I really have only one major complaint related to the drinks. And without this complaint, I would have given them 4 stars. They are very light on their pours when it comes to liquor. I order mixed drinks or drinks on the rocks and they pour a strict 1.5 ounces (the larger end of the jigger) that is measured and charge the same as some other places that pour a much stouter drink for the same or even less. I guess my feeling is that for a $7 or $8 drink that it should be a heavier pour. As a general rule, I just don't like a measured pour when you are paying a lot for a drink and the profit margin is so high on these types of beverages as it is. It is a lot heavier pour at almost all other restaurants of the same type and all I can do is go by comparison to the other establishments that I go to for a similar drink and just don't feel like I get my money's worth on the drinks I have ordered at Murphy's. Their price and selection choices on beers is excellent. So, that is what I will be ordering here on out. read more

tried murphys for the first time last nite when you walk in a sign says seat yourself we sat at a corner table and just when we thought we might have been forgotten a waitress came over,apologized several times for the wait took our drink orders and was back within minutes with our drinks and took our app order. she timed our second round of drinks just as our apps arrived,the preztel and cheese was great as were the pub chips with meat n cheese our main course was a couple of ruebens and the cuban which were all sandwichs to brag about. so all n all the beer selection was great food was fantastic and the service was great and this was at 7:00pm on a sat nite during the ncaa basketball playoffs. can't wait to go back and try something different,if all goes the same they'll get five stars. wish i could remember the waitresses name id like to thank her for an enjoyable dining experience read more
