Let my tell you about the food the pot o gold wings are amazing! The mozzarella sticks melt in your mouth and the onion rings were crispy and not greasy. I decided to try something different tonight. I wanted to watch the second half of game 7 at a pub. I hadn't been to Murphy's since the beginning of Covid so off I went. The setup inside isn't the greatest for watching games all the TVs are mounted on the walls behind you so it's either turn your seat and body around to watch or strain your eyes to watch a TV 20 or 30 feet across the room. I went with turning my body. They had two bartenders on duty. There wasn't much for them to do so they mostly expressed frustration with the kitchen. I guess the kitchen had gotten multiple orders wrong and the chef/cook was in a very bad mood so they were going to wait until the end of the night to call him on the errors. I wanted to hang for the game so I ordered an appetizer first. I went with a pub favorite Potato skins. When they arrived they weren't exactly your traditional skins. They weren't potatos cut in half with all the goodie inside. They were flat slices of potato with a little cheese and bacon on the top. Nothing bad about them just different and not my cup of tea. When it came time to order my main course I had heard someone mention shepherds pie which is a favorite of mine. The description on the menu was seasoned ground beef, onions corn or peas or both, mashed potato's and gravy. Sounded perfect so that's what I ordered with the only request that they go lite on the onions. She said no problem but the other bartender piped in and informed me that the meat is premade therefore can't have less onions but assured me there aren't a lot. I agreed. Once the meal came it looked good. I took on bite and whatever seasoning they use was overwhelming almost to the point that it couldn't be eaten. I took another bite and same thing. I also noticed there was no gravy to br found too. Hearing about issues in the kitchen earlier I didn't want to make a big deal about it but I did ask for a side of gravy which helped with the strong seasoning. I ate half the meal and then asked to take the rest home. She asked if I wanted a cover for the container of gravy which had a couple of drips left. I said no but why don't you give me a full one to take with me. As she walked away she said something to the other bartender and then went to the register to give me a new tab. As she walked back to me with the slip I asked are you charging me for the gravy? She said yes .50. I told her to forget it. She said ok fine with an attitude and crumbled up the slip and walked away. I can't believe that they were going to charge me for something like a tablespoon of gravy. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth in more ways the one. I won't be returning there anytime soon read more

We found this little gem on yelp while trying to find something for dinner. The bar list is massive with an abundance of different beers and liquors. Because they're an Irish pub they have traditional Irish items like shepherds pie and Reuben sandwiches. Our waiter was also great and we joked around with him the whole time! I just stumbled across the truck but will make sure I visit Murphy's pub when I am in Agawam. The only reason I won't give 5 stars is because I thought since it was a food truck, with limited options, they might be a little cheaper, but it was well worth the money and I'd pay it again. I tried a cheese burger with fries, and fried mac and cheese bites from the food truck and I am amazed. It took less then 10 minutes, and was cooked perfectly. Excellent food, with flavor in every bite. I can honestly say I didn't even *need* to add ketchup. And the gentleman behind the counter was extremely nice and helped us find the right food combos. read more

Murphy's is the only respectable bar in Agawam. Unlike the other horrid little shacks that dot the town and service exclusively drunks, Murphy's Pub is a clean and happy establishment. Just keep in mind that this is a place you go for beer and food. They are not stocked for fancy cocktails, and it is not a place to get hammered and throw up. That said, they have a great selection of beers on tap, ranging from shandys to IPAs to stouts, as well as a few whiskeys. And the food is fantastic, with my own favorites including the turkey BLT with sweet potato fries and their flatbread pizzas. Overall, expect a friendly atmosphere, reasonable prices, and some pretty stellar food and drink. Also, Thursday is "wings night," so be prepared for a crowd. read more

We went for lunch as the Parthenon was closed for vacation. We were sadly disappointed. We had to wait 45 minutes for fish and chips and slidders. Fish was ok but slidders were what I call belly bombs. I think they cooked them for the full 45 minutes we waited. I don't know why the place was crowded- the fish dinner was mediocre and my slidders were terrible. Huge waste of money. I have had better fare at McDonalds. I think this place is just a bar where they want you to drink. We always drove past and said we would try, well we did and never again! They should have paid us to eat there. read more

I'm so torn in my feelings about Murphy's. First, the food. It's your standard bar menu, and some items are great, some are not so great. Their fried cheese is delicious, and so are their Irish nachos ( I'm a fan of all things tater tots), but their regular nachos are not so great. The pulled pork is terrible. The meat is try, and they try to overcompensate by drowning it in barbecue sauce. Their martini menu is probably my favorite thing about this place. The pineapple upside down cake is heavenly, and tastes exactly like a slice of cake. Their other specials such as the french martini and the oatmeal cookie are also quite tasty. Service is quick and friendly, considering that this place is almost always overcrowded, and there is never enough seating for the amount of Agawam townies that flood the place. Overall it's a decent Irish pub, but I'd say that some of their close by competitors are doing it better. read more

Murphy's has a pretty good beer selection and fun/clean bar atmosphere. I've been several times just for drinks and the staff and service have been friendly and generally on top of their games. The bar is a pretty good size but has been full every time I've visited, day or night. Around the bar are a number of tables but the capacity is pretty small so plan accordingly. They have about 20 beers on tap, including a few BBC and Dogfish Head. I've only had the food once but it was better than expected - burgers, sandwiches, pub food and apps...reasonable prices. Definitely a great place to stop by for drinks or some good bar food! read more

Dissapointed.. I'm not exactly mad or sad about this visit but it was incredibly disappointing. We arrived at 2:38 for lunch and put our order in right away. Got our pretzel (which was the best part of the meal) at around 3:10 and still hadn't received any main dish until exactly 3:30 it's now 4pm and we are waiting for our card to be run. We ordered cheddar top choice burger and there was no cheese in it and he got the Reuben that needed a lot of extra dressing to be tasty. The fries were good and the waitress was nice. That's all I have to say. If you have a lot of time to kill go here if not, don't it's not worth it. read more

They definitely have the best burgers around, menu is barfood, it's a bar setting, it's nice to go on a Friday night and hang out and have a few drinks with friends. I went Friday night with my husband, a little loud, but it is a bar so it's to be expected. Service was good, I got the sampler, my husband ordered the cheeseburger, and kept raving about how great it was. We live in Agawam so it's a nice spot to go to when you don't want to drive far. We stopped in here yesterday for a quick bite with friends and family. The service was excellent and the food was pretty good for a pub. Our party mostly had burgers and wings. My only complaint was that the boneless wings were overcooked and there wasn't much sauce. I usually like mine juicy and lathered in sauce. These wings had more of a rub and were a little dry. It is clean. It is usually freezing. There is an outside patio but it is overlooking the road. Food is good. I have been twice, my girlfriend 3 times. I completely love the shepherd skins - basically all the non-potato components of shepherds pie as the topping of a potato skin - can't go wrong with that. Pub chips with bacon horseradish dip - yummy, i want like 4 containers of the dip it is so tasty. I had a special that was a jalapeno popper grilled cheese which was very yummy - cheese sauce, jalapenos, side of sour cream. That being said - there is a service issue here. Don't get me wrong, they are pleasant. I sat at the bar both times I went, my girlfriend did the same when she brought her mother. There was a different bartender each time. All friendly. All really slow. All extremely likely to walk by an empty glass and/or a keno ticket with cash next to it even though the place is pretty empty. There has never been a full restaurant, there have always been empty seats at the bar, yet somehow it takes forever to get a drink or play a game. It is frustrating because the food is good and, like I said, they are nice, but I don't want to wait 15 minutes with an empty glass when it isn't busy. read more

Absolutely love this place! Service is always great, food it's always delicious and no matter where you sit you can see the big game on their many TVs! My girlfriend and I particularly make it a point to go when our favorite bartender Meagan is working! She's incredibly attentive and always so friendly! (Is she ever in a bad mood?!) last night I won $450 on Keno ....Murphys, you just raised the bar yet again for now being my lucky spot to play! Now we go here like once a week, because the food's awesome, they have tons of beer on tap, and the staff are incredible. Seriously, they have some of the most friendly people working there.
