This was our second time visiting Murphy's Restaurant. First time was great, this time it was very disappointing. Our servers name was Dasia and due to her lack of customer service skills and just down right rude attitude we will not be returning. Dasia was in a rush to take our order and we were basically pushed to order what she recommended, to later find out they were out of 20 minutes after she took the order. When we asked what the options were for sides (hoping for French fries) she rolled her eyes as if she were genuinely bothered by us. We received our food which a pleasant young gentleman brought us within moments of our salads hitting the table. The food was outstanding. Cooked to perfection. Dasia returned to the table and asked "how is everything" when we tried telling her the filet came underdone she shrugged as if talking to another server across the room not making any eye contact with neither of us at the table and walked away completely ignoring my husbands statement about the under cooked filet. We thought at around $45 for the filet she would offer to have it cooked a bit longer. At this point we are both extremely irritated. Dasia never returned to fill our drinks which were nothing but ice by this time. I wanted a slice of cholate cake but we were never asked if we wanted desert she simply dropped off our check and walked away. Apparently she didn't notice that I had to use the restroom before we left because when I came around the corner from the restroom she was complaining to another server about my husband and myself describing our attire as ridiculous and stating that we only left her a ten percent tip "cheep gross people". DASIA you are lucky you received anything from us with service like that, you are lucky to be employed at all. Needless to say we went elsewhere for desert. This place is full of dissapoint Made reservations, showed up on-time then was asked "is lounge seating OK?" Ordered drinks, was told about the different flavors of Iced Tea, after making a decision, bottles of iced tea and glasses of ice were brought to us, yes bottled iced tea, like the kind one would buy at circle-k. How do refills work on that? simple, order another bottle. Note that we were not told the tea was bottled when we ordered it, we just found out when the brought them out. Ordered appetizer, mushrooms. They were very, very salty. Gross Ordered food, 1/2 rack of bbq ribs and one of the seafood "specials of the day" crab stuffed sea trout. The bbq ribs were total crap, tasted like ketchup and artificial smoke liquid, you could tell by shape and texture that is was previously frozen, just warmed up, plated and served, nothing more. They say "we fly in our fish every day from Hawaii" and that seems kinda suspect to me.. I have never heard of Hawaii being an exporter of fish, just dosen't make any sense to me but i'm no fisherman. The bill for 2 people was close to 100 bucks not going back and you should stay away too, many better options, Its a cool old building, and if you wanna check it out maybe have a drink at the bar there. For food, stay away. read more

Not happy with service nor the food. My father ordered the Ahi. Asked for it to be medium it came to him seared on the outside and raw on the inside. Did not look like sushi grade ahi, it looked like those $6.99 ahi steaks you get at Fry's. Also tasted fishy. My brother ordered the salmon. It should have come with the caper sauce but it came with some kind of oriental sweet sauce (not even shown on the menu). Server should have asked and she did not. It was also a tail end cut not a center cut. For the price it should have been a center cut. It also tasted fishy. I ordered the shrimp pappardelle. A new menu item. The taste was odd and not appealing but the 5 large shrimp (larger than expected) were good. My dad and I split a wedge salad. He liked it, I did not. Dressing was runny and not enough bacon. I have also been to lesser dining establishments and have said "we are going to share" and the food comes to us on separate plates (no extra charge) just good customer service. The salad was set in front of me and I was handed an extra plate so I could separate it. Not cool for this type of establishment. Our server was not engaged. She was just kind of ho-hum. I am not going back and I will not recommend. read more

THIS SPOT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!! We stopped in for our very first Murphy's experience this week. The prime rib dip is out of this world yummy and we washed it down with a delicious adult beverage. Our waitress Ciara was extremely versed on the menu and she was so welcoming and made us feel as if we were right at home. My other half is pretty quiet when we eat out and to my surprise he was laughing right along with the waitress, gthe bartender and I. Now days you might get three words for an average restaurant waitstaff, but not at murphy's you get employees with a since of humor-personality-professionalism- well above average service with a smile. Big thank you to our server Ciara for such a great recommendations on both the adult strawberry lemonade and the prime rib dip. We visited Murphy's on 1/28/17 to celebrate a friend's birthday. Hadn't been there in years...the place itself, is very nice. However, the food was awful and over priced for what you got. Our friends ordered the salmon and when the plates arrived, we were in shock on the small size of the salmon. They said it tasted okay but couldn't get over the size. I ordered the prime rib sandwich and could not believe what I saw when my plate arrived! It was loaded with the thickest amount of cheese I have ever had on a prime rib sandwich. And, there was hardly and prime rib!!!! Once I pulled the awful cheese off, there wasn't much left on the soggy roll. Would not recommend that dish to anyone. Not worth the money...there are so many other great places in Prescott to enjoy a delicious meal. One thing that was excellent...our server. He made the visit enjoyable. read more

Was traveling from Vegas and decided to stop in Prescott for dinner, came upon this place and stopped to try it out. never been here before and it looked quite nice. It was very noisy and i would have liked to be seated away from all the huge party of 6-8 loud tables. I sat right in the middle and the noise was unbelievable. When you have a party of 2, please seat them in another (more quiet) area. we would appreciate that! The food was OK as well, the waiter was rushed and was breathing heavily every time he came to the table. I was way under dressed for this place as i was driving most of the day. it is a dressy place. Advise: keep couples in their own quieter area, keep the groups 4-6-8 or more in their own loud area. this would be nice. will i go back? YES! But if I'm seated by another loud group, i will ask for a more quiet area. read more

Charming, family-owned restaurant that really captures the essence of old-fashioned breakfast! The spacious seating makes it perfect for larger groups or families, and the cozy, nostalgic decor adds to the warm atmosphere. The menu features classic breakfast staples--think fluffy pancakes, hearty omelets, and crispy bacon. Everything we ordered was delicious and made with love. However, I did notice that they don't do a lot of substitutions, so if you have specific dietary preferences, it's something to keep in mind. Despite that, the service was friendly and welcoming, which made up for any minor limitations. It's a great spot to gather for a satisfying, no-frills breakfast with loved ones. Today i had Thanksgiving Lunch at Murphys- reservation @ 11:30 with my parents. The place was really nice, clean- everyone was friendly- tables and booths were nice, bathrooms were clean and the food was amazing. We all had the turkey dinner plates- I had the butternut squash soup with my dinner and it was amazing, but the BEST part was our Server- BAILEY! This girl was amazing on all levels- clean uniform and appearance, exceptional service, she never missed a beat and maintained a delightful attitude. I would seriously give this girl a raise. Have eaten here before and enjoyed it, but tonight will be our last time. Brought out of town family expecting a wonderful evening and were served 2 watered down drinks and the smallest pour of wine I have seen. It baffles me that an expensive restaurant isn't smart enough to serve their guests great drinks. A good bar will bring repeat clients and when the drinks are pitiful, it is our last time giving that establishment our money. We are great tippers and repeat clients when the bar makes good drinks, but who wants to spend $44 for prime rib and drink a watered down lousy drink? Not me! We won't be back and won't recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

My husband and I traveled to Prescott for our anniversary! We had never been and we really looked forward to experiencing all the area had to offer. We decided on Murphy's for our formal celebration and were met with excellence from the moment we walked through the door. From the simplicity of keeping our refreshments filled to the overwhelmingly delicious meals, and lastly to the brilliant dessert, this restaurant is a culinary gift! Our server Emilia was excellent and David the manager went over and above to make sure we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. While we look forward to visiting the area again, going back to Murphy's will become a must! read more

We heard from our youngest daughter that this was more than a 3 star restaurant. We ordered their Murphy's IPA ale made in flagstaff by lumber yard brewery. It was great and refreshing. We got their beaf and mushroom soup to start the meal. This was a great treat. It was rich and had a wonderful flavor. Our Entre'- We got their mid size sirloin steak. We ordered it well done- was a little pink when it came. However the steak was wonderful. The veggie rings were cooked and just melted in our mouths. Over all it was a wonderful meal for us. Celebrated niece's 18th birthday in Prescott, friends recommended Murphy's. Our server, Graci was wonderful! She is very kind, professional and made food recommendations that were spot on. Aaron our bartender made a fabulous Manhattan! Manager David was very attentive, during the entire meal. The birthday girl received a card signed by the staff with chocolates, and amazing dessert! We recently moved to the area and we were looking for a nice restaurant for our anniversary. It had historic nostalgia with a classic menu. We already had reservations and they had an anniverary card with complimentary chocolates waiting for us, we also received one complementary desert. Absolutely amazing experience at Murphy's! The food was outstanding--Chef Mikey cooked the ribeye to absolute perfection. It was tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best steaks I've ever had.
