Unfortunately we had a meal that wasn't that great. It started when the manager came over after we were seated and asked us to move because someone was coming in with a reservation - WE had a reservation. Plus the restaurant was maybe 20% full. There were four of us. All of our meals came with broccoli and cauliflower that was cold and over cooked. I truly believe it was leftover from the day before. My husband's pork was over cooked and there were other smaller problems. Our server, Autumn, was fine but the main problem was the manager. He truly could care less. He listened to our complaints and any of his half-hearted offers were too little too late. My advice to him is to find another day job. We are visitors here in Prescott so we won't be back but to anyone else I would recommend spending your money at a different establishment. read more

I called at 5:57. Happy hour is from 3 till 6. The girl, Julia, who answered my call, who had no idea or skills to answer a call took forever? I asked to order off of the happy hour menu, 3 till 6 every day. When she finally was able to take my order...it was 6:01 and she coldly told me...sorry, its 6:01. Really? Sadly, it was a place for good food but when employees treat you like they dont care...it is bad management. S*** rolls down hill. My husband and I have lived in Prescott for thirty years, we have watched and been through the growth, influx of people etc. Fortunately, Murphy's has been consistently outstanding. If Murphy's considers their Ahi Tuna Wrap one of their specialties, I would hate to see what their other food is like. The description says it is SEARED Ahi Tuna with spinach, CUCUMBER and tomato tossed is CARAMEL SOY SAUCE and wrapped in a spinach-herb tortilla with a SIDE OF WASABI AIOLI for $15. I have capitalized words to describe what was not on it. Chef, take note: The ahi tuna was not seared. Searing means that the meat is to hit a scorching hot pan so the surface instantly begins caramelizing to give the meat a deep, savory flavor. This ahi tuna had a greyish-white unappetizing appearance and absolutely was without flavor, signifying it was only placed on a warm burner. I requested no tomato. The server asked if I still wanted cucumber and I told him a definite "yes". My food didn't arrive for an ten minutes after that of the other people in our party. I was told that my meal and that of one other person, had been "sent" to another table and that is why it took so long. What I received was a tasteless spinach-herb tortilla wrapping the unseared tuna and spinach. What I didn't get was the cucmber, caramel soy sauce, nor the Wasabi Aioli. I ate three bites. My grand-daughter couldn't eat hers, either, because of the tuna preparation. My husband, ordered the Murphy's Dip sandwich. It was to have a horseradish cream sauce. It arrived without it. When he asked for it, the server brought back plain horseradish and told him they were out of the horseradish cream sauce. Why didn't he know that in advance, or at the least, tell my husband to confirm that he still wanted the sandwich. Where was the end-point quality control check by the server? We were ten people who had gathered at Murphy's following our daughter's interment service. We wanted to talk and share, not to be bothered by ill-prepared and missing food. The manager did take the two ahi wraps off of our bill and offered free dessert, which none of us wanted by that time. Not a good ending to an already difficult day. read more

First-rate atmosphere and good service. Ample seating, lots of booths and a fair amount of privacy in an old-fashioned dimly lit setting. Food was good but not off-the-charts. My wife had the stroganoff; I had the linguini. We both said the same thing ... "good, but not great." I'd like to give this eatery a 3 1/2 star rating, averaging the food with the atmosphere, but Yelp doesn't allow that. So, I'll give it a four, based on atmosphere and service alone. read more

I drove my friend to the VA Hospital for doctor appointment, after 3 hour driving we stopped by for lunch around 1pm, I ordered their burger signature and my friend ordered the Steak salad, both were good and delicious. My family and I went in today , we drove up from Wickenburg while I'm here visiting from California. We walked in and the manager was super super super nice . He was so accommodating. Our server Tara was awesome and super sweet . She was so attentive , and friendly . We had an amazing experience. We where celebrating our 35th wedding Anniversary. Tara was our server. Everything was Excellent! Love all the food and the carrot cake for Desert. Tara was a excellent waitress. Excellent choice thanks to the advice of the Hassayampa Inn concierge Mike .. We has a wonderful start with a baked brie and an order of escargot... We were a party of 4 . My husband and I enjoyed a clam chowder.. a beautiful fresh and colorful salad with their house dressing ( a champagne vinegaett dressing ) . We shared a main course of a filet with a delicious marsala and mushroom sauce ... Fabulous garlic mashed potatoes and fresh veggies . Desert was cream brulee that we all shared and left us wanting more . Autumn ... Our most pleasant and knowlagable server was the icing on the cake ! We couldn't have enjoyed a better evening . On a road trip, we ended up in Prescott, AZ. The guy at the hotel didn't hesitate to give the name of this place when we asked for a decent steak place. We got there and Patrick greeted us and seated us. When we told him about the referral he gave us a little off of our tab. Our waitress Megan was really attentive and took very good care of us. Our pre dinner salads were fresh and green. (Don't know about you but brown lettuce on a salad is my pet peeve!) The bread was warm and flaky. The Prime Rib was cooked exactly as we ordered it. The veggies and potato were also good. The wine and dessert were fabulous. A tad pricey BUT I would totally come back again. The food was really good, but the service was awesome! read more

Murphy's was recommended to us by our hotel but they must be receiving a kick back or a perk in return. My husband ordered their signature prime rib medium well it was tough as shoe leather, prime rib should fall apart with a fork but he had to saw with his knife and the rest of the meal was mediocre it took us quite some time to even get silverware to eat our meal with and the place was not busy at all. This was the night of August 2, 2019. I requested a Malibu Baybreeze and they brought me something horrible saying it is a MBB. It was not. Had one the following night at Matt's Saloon and it was made correctly. I will say the salad and the blue cheese dressing was excellent. But those items are pretty hard to mess up. read more

The only reason that this review is 2 stars is because the band was a lot of fun and the server was nice. Otherwise, it was SO overpriced and the food was extremely underwhelming. The steak that my husband got was ok, but definitely not a $50 steak. In fact, he said that Outback was better, so that should tell you something. The side of broccoli was raw and it was supposed to be steamed. The baked potato came with one tiny, tiny ball of sour cream. The herb butter with the bread was pretty good, so there is ending on a positive note. read more

We made reservations for Thanksgiving since we were in from out of town. Reservations were for 6:00 pm, when we arrived at 5:55 we were told they were running behind and that there would be a half hour wait. Although the hostess was helpful in getting us a table soon, the waitress was awful. Our drinks sat at the bar for 15 min before they were brought to us. The food was a massive fail as well. They had a turkey dinner special but we were told they had already run out of cranberry sauce! I ordered prime rib, hubby ordered the trout. Mine was dry and way over cooked. His trout was just ok. My baked potato was made last week. Dry and burned from reheating. The meal was very expensive for what we got. There are other places in town WAY better. read more

Murphy's is one of the more upscale (and expensive) restaurants in Prescott. Decor is sort-of Old West elegant, and service is pleasant. We went with another couple for Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey was spongy, as if it were processed, and poorly cut. Awful. The sides of stuffing and yams were skimpy--single scoops; the green beans were ok, and so was the pecan pie for dessert. We should have gone to Murphy's sister restaurant, Gurley Street Grill, which is always reliable and a lot less expensive. read more

We were having dinner at Murphy's and I ordered my steak well done. When I received my steak, it was close to medium rare. I brought this to our servers attention (Ryan) and he was awesome. Took my wife there for Mother's Day, she likes halibut so I thought this would be be great for her. Our server, Autumn was outstanding in every way!! I ordered the chicken fried steak from the brunch menu. My wife's meal came with a salad which she said was good but except for the carrot cake was pretty much the end of the epicurean delight! The halibut while served with a dollop of pesto sauce was surrounded with a pureed white bean sauce with cherry tomatoes as well, never heard of halibut with bean sauce! She scraped the off the sauce and said the halibut was good. She also had a side baked potato that had been in the warmer way too long! My chicken fried steak was too thick (not pounded out) and not trimmed of fat and gristle before breaded and deep fried. My meal included scrambled eggs which were luke warm and frozen cottage potatoes which had been in the warmer with the baked potato far too long! Our server checked on us and asked if we were enjoying our meal and she found that I had barely eaten my steak and asked about it so I explained the issue, she cheerfully took my plate and asked if I wanted something else. I ordered the eggs Benedict, they came out quickly, almost too quickly! The poached eggs while the yokes were soft, the whites were as well, Canadian bacon was over cooked and tough, same tough over warmed, dry potatoes! We did order carrot cake for desert and I must say it was excellent so kudos to the pastry chef and large enough to bring some home! We've been eating at Murphy's since 2002 and I would give them only one star for this visit except for the excellent service by Autumn and the carrot cake! Maybe because it was Mother's Day the kitchen was overwhelmed, don't know, don't care, not a cheap meal! While the service has remained rock solid we've noticed a steady decline in the food over the last couple of visits, we'll wait awhile before we give them one more chance. Marvin Tye read more
