We hired Murphy Wallbeds Chicago for a new office setup: a custom desk, cabinets and shelving on one wall and a Murphy bed with shelving and cabinets on the other wall. Eric and John did a spectacular job with the best, most professional service of anyone we've had to do work on our house! They got the design exactly as we were hoping and the quality is superb while still being reasonably priced. Cannot recommend them enough. Here are a couple pictures of the space. read more

Aimee & Eric from Murphy Wallbeds Chicago exceeded our expectations. Starting with our initial visit in their showroom to the 3-D view, they guided us every step of the way. What an incredible and refreshing experience it was working with everyone at Murphy Wallbeds. Eric came out for the initial consultation and measurements for an office/guest bedroom setup and 3 closets. He took his time and walked through certain design choices with us. You could tell he truly cared and he was so friendly! Fast forward a couple weeks and our installation day finally arrived! Eric and another gentleman (I never got his name) came to install our murphy bed and closets. I'm always worried about our new floors being scratched or the walls scuffed up but you wouldn't even know they were here! They were meticulous in their work and the craftsmanship really shows it. I have really high expectations when I hire someone for a job and they exceeded them significantly! 10/10 would recommend! Thank you everyone at Murphy Wallbeds!! read more

We just had a very custom queen Murphy bed + desk installed in our apartment. The whole experience was outstanding from the initial consult with Eric, to clear communication about design options with the team, to installation itself. It has transformed our guest room and adds a wow factor along with being incredibly functional. Could not recommend this team more if you're looking for an unparalleled Murphy bed experience. read more

Eric and his team did an absolutely amazing job. Just look at my pictures (although it looks even better in person). We needed our third room to work as an office (husband works from home) and a guest bedroom with a queen sized bed. We hate white cabinets and we feared it would look cheap, but it looks amazing! Eric came out, took measurements of everything, and had great suggestions when we couldn't decide on things. Our murphy bed and desk are the first thing people compliment and everyone is always amazed at the quality. The before and after pictures show you just how much molding they were working with in our third bedroom and they knocked it out of the park. As a side note, they're a small business and everyone works really hard there and they seem to really enjoy eachother. I love giving companies like that my business and I hope they continue to flourish. I wish I had gotten the names of the other two guys who helped build everything. We also worked with John and Amy in the office and they were really helpful too! read more

Murphy Wallbed is amazing! I had a challenging project which included an existing wallbed. They were just so helpful beginning with Aimee with whom I initially spoke, to Eric, a skilled and talented expert. He spent so much time and showed patience and care. His assistant, Amador, was excellent too. Nothing but great things to say about Chicago Wallbed. I just wish more companies were as helpful and profession as they are. Totally recommend! read more

Wow, these guys are the absolute best at what they do. Best investment we've ever made! We have wanted a Murphy bed for some time for our guest bedroom so we didn't always have a bed taking up space when we didn't have company, but good ones are so expensive. When we moved to Chicago we did a lot of research until we found Murphy Wallbeds Chicago. They are so easy to work with and their system is top quality but at a very affordable price for what you get which is reclaiming your room while adding a beautiful piece of functional furniture They allow you to customize as much as you want. And they are total perfectionists from design to installation which of course is very welcome! He worked around our move-in and work schedules seamlessly. Every one of those on the crew were total professionals. To top things off, a past dog sitter put the bed down without placing the leg down so bent the frame and wood, damaging it. We called Eric to see what it would take to fix it. It still worked but of course didn't look great seeing the wood cracked. They came out and fixed it quickly, making it perfect again for us. The customer service is just out of this world! It is rare these days to have such an amazing experience on the customer service as well as perfect quality product and workmanship but Murphy Wallbeds Chicago nailed it!!! Highly recommended!! read more

Great service and quality! We're adding a baby to the mix and wanted to free up space in our guest room since we're transforming the third bedroom into a nursery. After researching murphy beds online, we determined that it was worth it to have Murphy Wallbeds build us a custom bed with storage vs. ordering something online, carrying it up to our third floor condo and trying to find/pay someone competent to assemble it for us. Best decision ever. Eric came out to measure and bring some samples and was one of the nicest people I've ever met! He worked with the office to turn around a sketch in a day and we were able to finalize the plan shortly after. I booked the installation date when I called to book the initial consultation because we were under a deadline for company. I'm glad we did this because they're busy! Would certainly recommend! read more

I am so happy with my bed, it perfectly fit a nook in my spare room. I have a very strict building and they made sure to not break any rules or damage anything! Great price, beautiful craftsmanship. I sent an email, Eric came to my house the next day to measure and go over wood options. Super easy to schedule installation and get the insurance for my association. Eric is super responsive and nice. This is the happiest I've been with any construction ever. read more

You won't find a better Murphy Wall Bed. Our experience working with Eric and his team was outstanding every step of the way - from our initial meeting to the final installation. Excellent workmanship, professional, friendly, timely, detail oriented. We were looking for a piece that could fit in a small room, be used primarily as an office/desk and double as a guest bed when needed. Our style is contemporary and Eric had terrific design ideas. He sent us the design within a week. As promised, the finished bed was delivered six weeks later and exceeded our expectations. Eric thought of every detail and more! I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience demands one. First, if you've gotten this far, you know you want a Murphy bed, so everything else is about price and options. Second, since you've found Chicago Wall Beds, your search is over and you just need to realize it and pull the trigger. Murphy beds are expensive. That's just the way they are- they're specialized pieces of furniture. When you're searching for Murphy beds, you're going to find uber expensive Italian ones (think $10k) and less expensive units on line, like the ones sold by Costco. I read countless reviews about different online beds and it kept coming back to quality and assembly, both of which everyone seemed to have some complaint about. So I knew I needed to find someone local. When I first contacted these guys and visited their tiny showroom on Paulina, I knew I found the company I wanted to work with. Tons of options and it's clear these guys know what they're talking about. These beds are high quality (single handed operation!) and you quickly learn that installation is just as important as the quality of the furniture itself. The install took hours and the crew didn't leave behind a single bit of debris, only a perfectly installed bed in their wake. I came away so impressed from this experience and my only regret was not finding these guys and buying the bed sooner! read more

My husband and I loved working with Eric and his team from the beginning to end. Eric came to our apartment to measure our small bedroom and created a design with us for a Murphy bed and office table. His team came to install the bed and table a few weeks after and everything was done in a professional, clean, and timely manner. After the Murphy bed was installed we noticed the mattress we had was too thin and wouldn't work so Eric sold us a mattress. He personally brought the mattress and made sure everything was ok. We highly recommend Eric and his team. read more

The highest score possible for this firm. My entire experience was exceptional: 1. They responded to my yelp email within hours 2. The owner arrived as scheduled for our appointment 3. His attention to detail and recommendations reflected sincerity and true craftsmanship 4. On realizing my need to have the bed installed before my parents visit in 7 days, he quickly found a way to expedite my order and install. 5. His crew of expert and professional craftsmen (Ray, Jerry, and John) came on time and spent the full day assembling the unit with care. 6. The final product is amazing ! And they competed in time to provide me a detailed tutorial. This firm is not selling Murphy beds, they are a furniture experience-I doubt a craftsman custom furniture shop will provide more detail and effort than these guys. Five star review. Thank you guys! read more

Last week we were the lucky people who had a Murphy Wallbed installed along with cabinet/storage space. Everything about our experience was superior! John, the designer was not only patient but a great listener. He was also assuring. Aimee, the business manager was efficient, responsible, clear in communication and pleasant. Eric, head installer, along with Amador and Ron were all perfectionists, careful with our space, and expert. The process from beginning to end was transparent. And absolutely fabulous. I just moved to Chicago from Denver and I'm having to learn to conserve on space so I wanted a wall bed in the guest bedroom. I went to one design showroom that sold wall beds starting at $10k and I stood in there for 10 min before I was even acknowledged. Very pretentious and unfriendly atmosphere. I then went to Murphy Bed's of Chicago and was immediately greeted by their friendly receptionist. I placed the order and then Eric followed up and sent a design for the pieces I had ordered. The installation team was extremely friendly and professional. The craftsmanship is beautiful and the bed itself is so comfy. We slept in it for 4 nights before our furniture got here from Colorado. The most surprising aspect is how easy it is to pull the bed down or put it up. We just love it. Thanks Eric and team! read more

We were thrilled with the custom design and comfort of the new Murphy bed Murphy Wallbeds installed in our Chicago high rise studio. The craftsmanship was exceptional - it truly looks like an integral, beautiful built-in for the apartment. Then, just months after the installation, we found out our building needed to do pipe repairs and knock through the wall where we now had our bed. In a panic we called Aimee to see if they could move the bed temporarily and reinstall after the work was complete. She and her team were amazing and accommodating. Bed was moved and reinstalled seamlessly and with the same care as the original installation. Perfection (see photos). Cannot recommend this company enough. read more

First review ever...Eric was totally awesome! The bed looks fabulous and and couldn't have been more impressed with the entire experience.

I wanted a Murphy bed for our guest room/office for a long time. I took a quick look at a local custom shops and was put off by the high cost. I spent months looking on line and found lots of options with bad reviews, mostly for looking cheap and falling apart. I decided to put more time into exploring custom options. Luckily I found Murphy Wallbeds. Beautiful, sturdy, well made, and priced reasonably. Easy to operate. I don't worry about even the heaviest houseguests sleeping on it. A queen bed costs about 50% more than the cheap online options but it's totally worth it. It was delivered and installed on time, and when it banged against the wall a tiny bit the installers came out within a couple of days to fix it. Every single person was a pleasure to deal with. It has been more than two years and I'm still delighted. read more

You know that feeling you get when you make a several thousand dollar purchase and everything goes so well you come out believing you got a steal? Me neither...until our recent purchase with Murphy Wallbeds Chicago.  From start to finish, everything went so well, I honestly couldn't believe it (and their prices are markedly lower than ClosetWorks when I compared estimates.) The owner, Eric, is a genuinely nice person who is passionate about every aspect of murphy bed design and installation and I have no doubt he is the best at what he does.  He listened to what we wanted (a wall bed with a desk), provided great ideas for how to maximize our space and customized the plan to meet our specific needs (my husband has a clunky eye-sore printer that Eric built a custom cabinet with a pull-out drawer for - so now we're both happy!)  His team is also very professional and hard working.  They even took their shoes off and put blankets down in their workspace - a detail that did not go unnoticed from an obsessively neat person.  Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was impressive - they made sure all the cords could be hidden and that everything was level and flush against the wall.  Impressively, Eric was also there installing the murphy bed.  There was a very minor issue with the mattress size and Eric came by the next day with a replacement - that type of honest customer service is so foreign to me it makes me wish we needed a murphy bed in every room (they may need to implement a punchcard system for all my future purchases...)  Needless to say, I highly recommend the wallbeds, and Eric and his team, at Murphy Wallbeds Chicago. The investment is worth more than every penny. read more

My experience was amazing! With so many options available, I did a lot of research and was impressed with the rave reviews that were posted. I contacted the company because I slept in one of their wall beds that had been installed in a friend's home and I found it comfortable, easy to manage, and very attractive. The Good: Affordable prices Great customer service Years of experience Detail oriented The Bad: Smaller showroom If you are interested in purchasing a Murphy wall bed, no one will be able to beat this company's wonderful service and prices. Aimee was polite, knowledgeable and patient while answering all my questions over the phone. Eric has had over 20 years of experience installing Murphy beds. He was personable, professional and paid extreme attention to detail which we truly appreciated! We recently moved from a 4000 square foot home to a 1300 square foot condo. We needed to furnish a very small second bedroom, but were unable to find furniture that wouldn't overwhelm the small bedroom. We did some research online and came across several Murphy bed dealers, most of which were overpriced. However, after visiting Murphy Wallbeds, and meeting Eric, we made the decision to purchase. Eric and his employees were great! They installed the Murphy bed and we were very impressed with the final product. It looked phenomenal!!!! Eric was not only personable, he was also very professional and knowledgeable. We will definitely recommend Murphy Wallbeds to our friends and family. read more

It doesn't seem like this place needs any more 5-star reviews for people to get the idea, but they deserve it. This is a great company. Eric (the owner, and a super nice guy) came to our house to measure and brought wood samples so we could get an idea of how various colors would look with existing colors in the room. He made some suggestions and (gently) steered us away from decisions that would have been disastrous in retrospect. He offered a few options and upgrades, but didn't push them. The installers were on time, friendly and professional. They clearly knew what they were doing. It was a bit of a difficult install due the condition of our very old and not very square walls, but they took the extra time to get the bed as flush as possible. The finished product looks and works great. I've never bought a Murphy bed before, so I can't really speak to how the prices compare to other companies, but the cost seems reasonable to me and feels like it was worth it. Great experience from start to finish. read more

I did a ton of research before I purchased my Murphy bed and looked at the gamut of choices; Wayfair, online Murphy bed companies that ship flats to your house for assembly, and to other vendors in Chicago. I'm so glad that I found and hired this company. Their prices are fair and the final product is beautiful. Installation was smooth and we've already had guests use the bed. We bought their mattress as well, (it's not required and you can purchase your own), and our guests raved. If you're in the market for a Murphy bed check them out! read more
