We're so glad we found Plain & Simple. It took a while for our dining table and chairs to arrive due to the pandemic (ordered in Sept, got them in Feb), but the craftsmanship is absolutely stunning. It wasn't cheap, yet it was much cheaper than Pottery Barn's "farmhouse table" and chairs/benches made from veneer, which every online forum said would chip within a month. The two delivery guys who assembled everything were great. We're very happy with the experience.

Hillary (and team) were exceptional when it came to designing my custom shoe closet! In the master…read moresuite, I have four large closets adjacent to one another, two in one hall. I was hoping to designate this end hall (closer to the entry of suite) to a shoe closet, and Hillary helped me properly select and design the space. The two closets we considered are similar in size, but one is slightly wider. We went back and forth between these two closets, seeing how/where we could maximize the shoe capacity. We also debated between the Senzafine and the Ubek systems, and found out the Senzafine worked better in either of these two closets. After some time of playing with different ideas, we chose the slightly smaller closet and the Senzafine Night Walk-in System with inclined shoe shelves. The shoe shelves design has the option of LED lighting per shelf. With our final design, we managed to create a space that would accommodate nearly 80 pairs of shoes in one closet. I was so thrilled. The shoe closet and install is a 5month process (not including August/December). I am looking forward to the install in November-ish! Next, we are designing my son's large closet for clothes, shoes, and misc.; and, two guest bedroom closets. HIGHLY recommend Hillary and crew from Poliform! We loved meeting Hillary and working with her, and look forward to designing the rest of the closets with her!

Idea has some really interesting and unique furniture designs - if you like a sleek, European…read moreaesthetic or are short on space this place is worth checking out. The showroom has a good amount of items to consider but know that there are also catalogs with tons of other choices if you don't see what you want. Most items get ordered from Poland so be prepared to wait 8-12 weeks in some cases. There are lots of different levels of quality and price points - that said, I thought prices were pretty reasonable. One thing I especially liked is that their items do not contain added chemical flame retardants - it's not required in Europe and the chemical off gassing is bad for you (trust me on this one, I work in the industry). Anyway, the staff here is super nice and not pushy at all. If you have a minute, let them explain/show you features that night not be apparent at first glance. A lot of items have hidden storage, sleepers or adjust in ways that typical American furniture doesn't. We're considering a bedroom set up from them and I seriously covet one if the rugs they have. I'll be back.

I would like to update my review. I did have the sofa redone at your shop. We discussed ad nauseam…read morethat it would be a comfortable soft sofa and that the velvet would not attract as much dust and lint as it does. You said it was specifically a better product. I had another chair recovered in velvet at Calico Corners in Wilmette and it does not attract dust and lint at all so it is not necessarily a function of all velvets. You were not nearly as helpful as you sound here on yelp when I had these complaints after the sofa was done. You' were completely unresponsive and refused to assist any further. At minimum, the sofa should've been comfortable and you definitely did mislead me on your product.

We bought a beautiful dresser three years ago for ~$1000. It had everything we wanted in our price range, enough drawers for both of us, gorgeous details on the outside, that millennial grey color that we love, no complaints. Amazing service at the store. Within a few months, one of the handles snapped off one of my drawers. Then another. Nbd, someone is giving away really good drawer pulls in my local Buy Nothing group. Problem solved. Fast forward about a year, my bottom drawer breaks on the frame. No problem, I pick up a few wood screws from a friend and repair it myself. Now, about a year later, the front panel on one of the smaller drawers has come completely off on the left side, and I can't repair it. Over the three years we've had this dresser, it has slowly been breaking down in new and frustrating ways. And though the folks who work at Nadeau are really friendly people, that "all sales final rule" can and will bite you in the butt. But hey if I ever want to become an Airbnb landlord who pays as little money as possible for instagram-pleasing furnishings, this is the place. Edit- I lived in NYC when I created my yelp account over ten years ago. I never bothered to change my location until now (probably because I didn't know that was a thing!) Nadeau messaged me saying no one from the store recalls ever speaking with me- my husband called Nadeau about the drawers. Seeing as it was several months ago that he called, and his name isn't Holly, I wouldn't expect anyone to remember the call!
