I was a past customer of Muralt's Jewelers for years. So I went there to have the clasp on my Omega necklace replaced. They called and said they could not get the same clasp and if they could put on a BOX clasp. I agreed. They did not put on the promised BOX clasp, but put on a clasp that spins, I did not agree to this clasp, they charged me $379.75. I was dumbfounded by the amount and paid it. I can't close the clasp. It spins and is so small, my husband can't put it on either. I went to the 3 jewelry stores, and they all said they could have gotten the original clasp. They also said I was way overcharged for the clasp that was put on, in essence I was ripped off. Muralts Jewelers said if they replace the existing clasp it would cost a lot more. I could have gotten a 4mm 14 carat gold BOX clasp at Gold Vampire for $203.00. I went back to Muralt's and told them and that I felt I was ripped off, they clearly don't care. I took my wife's vintage wedding ring in because it was missing one of the diamonds. Matt provided a very fair estimate to fix it so we left the ring to have it repaired. I was NOT disappointed! I had a hand crafted ring that I loved except for the stone which I had replaced previously with an amethyst. That stone was dull and it actually chipped! I took it to Muralt's and decided to replace it w/a garnet. Mr. Muralt did a wonderful job. The stone truly transforms the ring. He also cleaned it, whereas the previous jeweler said he couldn't get into the nooks and crannies of the intricate design. Mr. Muralt cleaned my ring and it looks radiant. I'm proud to wear it. I went to muralts to get a custom wedding band designed for my husband. It involved wood and a marble stone inlayed with the gold band. A lot of jewelers in the area turned us down because of the wood but muralt did not and the results were stunning. It turned out so much better than we even imagined and they were so patient with the payments as well. We put down a small deposit and then we put down a little bit at a time until eventually the ring was payed and we were able to take it home. Great business great people and great products. Took a couple of rings in for repair. They did an excellent job, but after wearing one of the rings for a week one of the prongs broke. I was lucky enough to find the stone and took it back in for repair again. They were very apologetic and said they would work on it and call when ready for no charge. We could not figure out what happened to cause the prong to break but I will say they did a wonderful job and are very meticulous with their work. I would recommend them to anyone needing repairs. Six years since we had my husbands band created and engraved. Someone asked for a suggestion for their husbands ring and I immediately suggested Muralts. He was able to take my husband's grandfather's wedding band and cut it, add gold to size up, and keep the original engraving of his grandparents' initials and wedding date intact along with adding ours. The band is seamless, dipped in white gold, and strong. We already had my ring and band, but when I wanted to get them soldered together he did that along with a rhodium dip and cleaned it. It's still super shiny and sturdy. I hope someday down the road we can have more custom work done by him and pass them down to our three girls on their big days. read more
