Being our family jeweler for over 21 years, I can't recommend Barnes enough. They have taken stellar care of our daily and heirloom jewelry, and they haven't increased their prices over time. l live in NW Phx now, but I continue to make the drive because they are trustworthy, polite, and friendly (no matter who is there)! Sometimes they are able to fix something same day, and they polish up my wedding bands for no charge. I do find their estimated repair times are inaccurate (LOL...because they always call 3-7 days SOONER than anticipated!) :D One other thing I like a lot is that if you see one of their custom pieces, they put it in the system under your name (like a registry)...in case your special someone wants to surprise you. If I ever leave AZ, it will be hard to find another jeweler like Barnes! read more

Quite literally the biggest waste of money ever! I paid $240 for my $5000 white gold tennis bracelet to be rodiumed. Not only does the bracelet have a yellow hue to it still ... but as you can see they didn't even fully rodium the safety chain. It's half white and half yellow now. Total absolute garbage work. When I told the girl it looked yellow her response was "well that happens sometimes". Excuse me? I've had this bracelet for years and never had such a shotty rodium done on it. Went today to pick up my items and I haven't been there in awhile and noticed The Main Street is under construction and I turned into where everyone was turning and making a u turn I clearly did not see the signs either arrows where to go so I entered the wrong way. I take responsibility for that part but didn't do it in purpose but then to have one of the guys run in front of my car yelling at me STOP STOP what are you doing to me. I told him I didn't see a sign and where was I supposed to go, he still insisted on still standing in front of my car yelling at me, I told him he didn't need to yell from inside my car instead of calmly stoping me coming to my window and just simply telling where to go. Clearly this guys is lacking customer service. I'm a very understanding person when it comes to customer service since I'm a person that wants to be kind to people in that type of job but not when they are being ASSHOLES like him. I get it gets busy and getting people in and out quickly but customer service is still very much needed in this place. read more

I went in looking for a ruby ring for my wife. They had a few, but their selection was pretty limited in general, being a smaller store. I did find a ring I liked, but when it was shown to me I noticed it had two price tags on it, with about a $200 difference between them. I asked the lady helping me which price tag was correct, and she was equally confused as to why there were two price tags on it. Pretty soon she had her head put together with another sales lady, as they poured through their computer trying to find which price belonged to the ring. Eventually they admitted they were not sure and asked me to come back later when they figured it out. They assured me they would hold the ring. I told them don't worry about it. It didn't take me long to realize I was in the wrong place. read more

When I picked it up, the staff were very helpful and happy to show me the serial number of my diamond to confirm it was mine. Drove 30 minutes one-way to get an appraisal on a piece... simply because I wanted one. Also asked for a quote to do a re-design on a ring. Received a call two weeks later that everything was ready. Drove another 30 minutes one way. The appraisal wasn't signed - so we only picked up the ring. Then the modification had no dollar amount on it - so that ring stayed pending pricing. (Jeweler was out.) Noticed the large stone in my ring I had appraised was loose while driving out of the parking lot. I doubt they did it / damaged it - but mentioning it when appraising it, cleaning it, etc. would have been nice as a heads up and might have solicited a repair fee. We will never know. I decided I was annoyed enough about driving all the way out for my "completed" work that wasn't completed and having to go out again that I'd determine if I wanted them to do my repair later. Drove out again to pick everything up (about a month later, maybe more). I don't need to justify my busy schedule but they apparently felt I needed to. Appraisal was well done. Surname is spelled incorrectly on it. The estimate for the modification was, in my opinion, very high. It was also not really a creative re-design / sketch like I asked for. It was literally what I handed them - with a small amount of metal added around the stone. I am new to jewelry. I don't wear it. I don't have pierced ears. Bracelets bother me. Etc. etc. I am having a current love affair with rings, though. I don't wear them either . All this to say... I feel a little "Pretty Woman"ed, I feel like I wasted my time, and I feel like I still need a good jeweler to create, appraise, and repair my pieces. The search continues. read more

My fiancé proposed a few days before a trip to Florida. But the ring was too big and we were both worried about the possibility of it falling off, but of course wanted to bring it since we were freshly engaged. I went to Barnes jewelers in hopes that they would be able to help me out, but understood it probably wouldn't happen considering I needed it done so quickly. Ryan correctly size me and assured me that if they weren't able to get it done before my trip that I could come pick it up before we left. Long story short they called me back the very next day to come pick it up. I was almost in tears. I'm so grateful they were able to pull it off for me so that I could show off my new ring. Ring Resizing. I've been looking for a place to resize my ring and wanted to support a local business instead of a chain. I found Barnes via Yelp. I'm grateful for all the previous reviews that helped give me confidence in going with this jeweler. Before going into the store I decided to call and find out pricing and protocol for resizing. The lady I spoke to was so kind and helpful. I mentioned that I would be going in with my four little so I could best plan for wait time. She offered to take my information over the phone so that when I got there I could just drop it off. This made the process much quicker! It was supposed to be a 10-day turnaround, but they had it completed in 4 days. I highly recommend this place! read more

I had an italian bracelet that was a gift from my mom that was extremely important to me which had a broken clasp. with the coronavirus hitting italy we were unable to send it back to get it repaired so we chose to go local. the customer service was fantastic and the communication was great. we couldn't get the exact clasp i had before but they helped me to find one that worked for me that was close to the original and had it repaired and back to me in less than two weeks. i wear my bracelet every day and am always reminded now of the hard work they put in to get it back to me. i could not be more thankful for everything they've done! read more

They are amazing! They rebuilt my rings to perfection. When I lost lost a .20 carat side stone and needed my ring remade, Barnes examined both the ring and wedding band and advised me that their integrity was threatened and I could lose more diamonds. They replaced the side stone and cast a new ring-same design. Wow! The craftsmanship that comes out of this jeweler is impeccable and cost was absolutely reasonable. Amazing experience! Ryan is so knowledgeable and takes the time to get to know you so he can make the perfect custom design you want. My fiancé and I went in to custom build my wedding ring and it is absolutely gorgeous. I walked in with a couple designs that I liked and he combined them all to make my one of a kind ring. After he gets an idea of what kind of design you want, he drawls a couple pictures to show you a visual and you choose what one you like the most. Then he makes a wax model that you get to put on your finger and get the full effect. After you have approved the model then he makes the finish product. My girlfriend had a silver ring which broke, with a large piece of lapis lazuli inset. I found Barnes via Yelp and decided to pop over for a visit to see what they could do with it. They took the ring and said that they'd try to get the stone out, and after that could create a new ring for it from gold, white gold, or platinum. I asked about silver, and they said that they didn't work with it but could refer me to someone who does. So I left the ring with them, and the next day they called me to let me know it was ready. I went by and they'd sucessfully managed to remove the stone. I pulled out my credit card, but there was no charge. I was really impressed with their customer service- if you're in the market for some high-end jewellry this is *DEFINITELY* the place for you. read more
