I brought my mom's wedding ring set here for some changes. Her ring was two diamond bands with a solitaire ring in between. The had been connected into one piece, but I wanted them separated into the rings. They are just a two minute walk from my office and others from work had good luck there This place is not a fancy jewelry store. It's old and messy and full of consignment jewelry. Definitely a mom and pop store. They have two well-behaved adorable little cocker spaniels (I think?) behind a gate. The lady there looked up the price in a book. $45 for each separation for a total of $90. The jeweler came in when we were wrapping it up, and he looked on the same book and quoted $62.50 for each ring, but the lady said she's given me a city of Mesa employee discount. Yay! I went to this business recently for a repair. I felt that I was treated with disrespect by the man and woman working there because I wanted another opinion on the pricing of the repair. I rolled up the day before mother's day wanting to buy my mother a piece of jewelry. There was a man outside who was very rude to me because I rode up on a bike and he was very rude to me about where to put my bike. Also the door has a lock that u need to be buzzed in for and as I was waiting to be buzzed in he told me very rudely,u have to pull not push. This guy wasn't friendly at all...made me rather feel like I was inconveniencing him to be there. I finally got around to having a certified gemologist take a look at what Dicksons tried to get away with-- they took my tanzanite (that probably got damaged) and replaced it with an "Assembled Gemstone" --or also know as a Synthetic Spinel Triplet-- what in the world is that?! For Michelle to tell me "I don't know what you're talking about, it's the same tanzanite that you left with me" -- CLEARLY ITS NOT!! A professional, second opinion has proven what I already knew from the obvious differences in the pictures!! AND THEY STILL WONT ADMIT IT OR MAKE IT RIGHT!!! Do NOT take any of your jewelry there-- cuz if something happens they won't tell you about it and if you attempt to question anything Michelle will lose it and start yelling at you while telling you "I don't know what you're talking about" --FRAUDS!! read more

I brought a silver ring here to be sized (for $90 which seemed high) and they returned it to me with polish on the stones which they removed when I asked about it. My problem is that when I got home I realized that two of the smaller stones were not reset property and sticking out of the ring sideways and it appears that another stone may have fallen out abs been replaced without my knowledge. It cost me another $110 to fix the damage at a different shop. As I was waiting for the quote I looked at another ring and it was a bit wonky, that should have given me pause to second guess having the work done here but I did it anyway, my regret. read more

I started coming here as a recommendation from a jeweler who was retiring and selling his shop. Their prices in appraisals, watch battery changes and general repair are very reasonable. In addition to new inventory, they also carry estate jewelry too. I have been tempted on a few occasions on some of their pieces but the economy currently restrains me. My engagement ring's stone fell off. I never been to this shop and I thought I would give it a try. I specified I don't want them to "glue" the stone back but find a more durable solution. They told me they would call me when it's done. When I was called that the ring is fixed and went to pick it up they realized the ring wasn't fixed!!! They just misplaced it and thought it's fixed. And they really wanted to glue the stone back ... so in the end I was actually happy about their mistake and took it to another jewelry repair store. read more

I have been patronizing this business for many years as I've lived in Mesa for the past 35 years. They can't be beat for their price on watch battery replacement. I believe it's $5 with the coupon, or just mentioning the coupon. The only negative experience I had was when I included a flashlight with the watches I brought in. It required three AA batteries. I could have easily changed these myself but figured since I was going in anyway, I would pay the $5. Well, I didn't realize until I left they had charged me $5 for each AA battery. When I returned with my receipt and my story, Michelle was very abrupt. She made some comment like, it takes the same amount of time. Well, not three times the same amount of time. It takes them less than three minutes to change a battery. I know watch batteries cost at least $5, but three AA's certainly do not cost $15! I think good customer service would have taken this into consideration. She should have said something like, "sorry for the misunderstanding--we should have explained that to you ahead of time--we'll give you $10 credit toward replacing two watch batteries. However, there was no discussion, just a very abrupt and flat "No." I understand Michelle and her husband are the third set of family members that have owned this shop. The original owners, as well as Michelle's aunt & uncle who were the second owners, were much friendlier and customer service oriented. Frankly, I don't much care for Michelle's attitude. But, again, can't beat the watch battery deal. read more

I took my wedding ring into dicksons to have it resized, cleaned, checked, and dipped. They had my ring finished in 24 hours (as opposed to 2 weeks like previous jewelers have done) and did an amazing job! My ring had to be unsoldered and then resized and soldered back together so I had to pay to resize each ring. The total was around $130 which I thought was very reasonable. The lady who helped me was extremely helpful and friendly. I will definitely bring my ring here next time it needs to be checked and dipped. read more

I will never shop this store again. I purchased a defective piece of jewelry there that kept on breaking, and they refused to give me my money back. I purchased it, it broke within two weeks, I had it repaired (which I paid for), it broke again about 10 days later and they fixed it without a charge, and then it broke again three days later. I took it back in the store and complained, and asked for my money back which was refused. I was told that I could only wear this jewelry under certain circumstances. I felt like I would have to stay stock still and not move a muscle to wear this piece. Considering that I have purchased this type of jewelry at general retailers, paid much less, worn it 24/7 and many times it has lasted me three or four years, I can't see a reason to continue to shop at this store.
