I am so glad I did! I have been looking for an authentic turquoise necklace for a long time. I met Elka, one of the owners and she shared that many of the pieces are made in house, I could see the workstation of the artists in the back. After sharing with her what I was looking for she helped me start to try on different pieces. The issue wasn't finding the " right " piece it was settling with just one! Alas - decision made I left with this gorgeous necklace handmade in house! I also saw so many other incredible pieces- a mosaic watch, festive earrings- you name it! I cannot thank the owner Ms. Elka for going above and beyond to help me resize a beautiful ring in my size on a short notice. I had been looking to purchase an authentic White Buffalo turquoise ring for quite some time without any luck. What a pleasurable experience! We are from out of state and came to Mesa for 5 days and luckily found this shop. I have an old Hopi pendant that needed to be re-oxidized and extensive repair on the bale. When I explained to the owners my short stay, not only were they able to complete the repair but the quality of the silversmith was outstanding. Stopped by here again to get a ring resized- from the moment that I walked in I was greeted with a big smile and a friendly welcome. They remembered me from the last time I had come by, so that was a really nice touch. Once again, they were very kind, and being in the store felt almost as if I were standing in their living room looking at jewelry. I dropped off my ring and was told that I could pick it up later that day, if I wanted. The ring size was over 11, and my size is about an 8, so I wasn't sure if they'd be able to do it, but they took a look and said "No problem". I told them I'd be back the next day to pick up my ring, since I had to head home and do some stuff later that day. So, fast forward, and today I picked my ring up. Absolutely perfect fit, and an absolutely flawless resizing. See the picture I just posted. And the ring itself had no warping, no thinning, no change whatsoever- it looked like it had been originally cast in that exact size. I can't state strongly enough how great this place is- the owners are wonderfully sweet people, and they have such an amazing selection of truly unique jewelry. We went into Skystone out of the blue one day. My husband bought me a beautiful Necklace with a beautiful Stone set in Silver. The owners were so accommodating and nice. The/actual Native American man whom designed the piece, engraved his name and something special on the back. We will definitely be back. They have beautiful pieces of jewelry in any piece you would want from rings to Squash Blossoms and much more. Elka and Victor are very knowledgeable of their product as far as different regions, tribes, customs etc. My only Granddaughter has a December birthday. Amazing service and THE BEST quality craftsmanship!!! I inherited two of my grandmothers rings that probably haven't been cleaned in over 40 years. I was told by another jeweler that they wouldn't touch the rings with fear of ruining them. I found Skystone, beautiful shop! The lady I met with was super sweet and assured me they can take care of the cleaning and also resize one of them. I Dropped off my rings on Wednesday afternoon received a call Thursday they're done. They are PERFECT! They look brand new. The black hills gold ring that was resized fits so great too! I was prepared to pay any price after seeing such quality craftsmanship. I had to write this review because stopping in to Skystone was the neatest Jewelry buying experience I have had. I come to AZ every year around the holidays to visit family, and last year we visited Sedona, which is when I first came into contact with beautiful Native American jewelry. I didn't have the time to go to Sedona this year (coming from Phoenix), so I searched far and wide for a shop that carried this jewelry closer to the city. I arrived at the store 10 minutes prior to closing, and told Elka (the owner) that I would hurry so I wouldn't keep them late. She assured me I could take my time and helped me for over an hour until I had finally made my selection. I found an awesome pair of handcrafted earrings for my gf among the thousands of beautifully handcrafted pieces. Skystone carries work from dozens of artists, and these particular earrings were flawless, but I didn't like the way one little link connecting the closure to the earring was secured. Elka and her husband Victor (also an owner) immediately called a local artist who was there within 5 minutes, and he replaced the sterling silver link on the earrings to my specifications on the spot. They beautifully gift wrapped and bagged the jewelry for free. Both owners were very charming and helpful which made the experience very enjoyable, and I was told they have been representing these local jewelry smiths for something like 20 years, so they definitely know their stuff. Victor shared some very interesting history about the jewelry and the artists - just a very cool experience I have never gotten at Jared's! Lol. I found out they do custom work and take design requests over the phone, via email, and in-person...which I may definitely be doing for the holidays next year because my mom and sister loved the earrings that I bought to take back east for my gf. I went to two other jewelry stores that were closed when they should have been open on a Saturday. I called Skystone Creations to make sure they were open, and 'Yes' they were. An older couple, Elka and Victor, own this business and they were so gracious when we arrived. I was interested in finding a turquoise ring; they had a large collection to choose from. Elka was wonderful to steer me toward a beautiful ring, pendant and earring set. The price was modest which pleased me very much. She explained the different types of turquoise, where they sourced their stones and that they hire Native American artisans to create some of their one of a kind designs. In addition to their wonderful jewelry, they had pottery created by Navaho, Zuni, Hopi and Acoma Pueblo. If you have a chance to stop in, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed. read more

This beautiful jewelry store features many Indian pieces--mostly silver and turquoise but some amber(?) and some Indian pottery. The owners are meticulous and caring. And they give very fair prices. I needed a couple of small repairs and they do them right there at the shop--nothing gets sent out! I was very pleased with their work and their service. I called in to see about getting a ring resized and the gentleman over the phone was incredibly friendly. He asked me to bring the ring in to assess if resizing could be done. I arrived with my mother as she had been wanting to visit this store for awhile. We were greeted by Elka. Her husband Victor emerged from the back and asked if I was the one who called. They gave me options as to how to get my ring to fit better and they thoroughly explained the process if I elected to have it done. I took their professional advice and went with the first option presented. They were so patient and kind while my mother and I tried on rings. My mother ended up purchasing a beautiful ring with spiny oyster, coral, turquoise, onyx and opal. It's gorgeous! I was referred to this store for silver. I took in 6 pieces of Tiffany jewelry, one to get repaired and the others to polish. I get free polishing from Tiffany & Co, but this was closer and I thought I'd give them a try. I had one bracelet to repair and the rest of the silver just needed polishing. I mentioned I usually go to T&Co but wanted to try them and I get free polishing. They finished my request the same day, but I was unable to pick it up until I got back in town a few days later. My tab was $170! I was shocked to say the least. $30 for repair and $140 to polish jewelry! WHat! They didn't even give me a quote before proceeding ahead. I would have gladly taken my jewelry to Tiffany to save $140! Then when I mentioned my shock to the owner she made a smug comment how my jewelry was just mass produced stamped silver. Ok ! Thank you, I love Tiffany Silver, and I have a lot of custom pieces too, and even original native american jewelry I've inherited. Yes they did do a good job, I would appreciate better customer service and a quote would be nice before the sticker shock. And not to demean my taste in jewelry.
