I used to visit this business when it was a store in Tri City Mall on the corner of Dobson & Broadway Rds in Mesa. Fast forward a few decades. My wedding ring really needs to be repaired as well as appraised and cleaned along with a few other items and I decide to pay this business a visit. What I got returned was a very nice surprise. I hadn't seen my wedding ring look so brilliant in quite a while. I also brought a special watch my husband gifted me about 30 years ago which has needed a new battery. Previously I had been told by another jeweler that it needed to be shipped to their manufacturers corporate office and they could only insure it for such a low amount that I opted to put the watch away. Michaels Creative Jewelry was able to replace the battery in house for a reasonable fee. I'm tickled to say I'm once again wewring this watch and have ditched the smart watch for the old school technology. Since initial visit I have brought in a few other items for appraisal, some tlc (cleaning) and have been pleasantly surprised by the quick turn around time. Most recently I was quoted seven (7) business days for a replacement/repair but it took maybe three (3) business days -dropped off Monday a.m., got a call to pick up item Thursday a.m. Once service is complete you'll receive a phone to let you know your item is ready for pickup. I'll continue to bring my jewelry in to Michael's Creative Jewelry because not only have I received exceptional service, everyone has been very nice to work with. And I don't want to forget to mention the beautiful jewelry they create and sell here. I've finally found a stunning piece here that other jewelry stores never carried. It may get sold but I know now if it does i can order another similar or have something specially made. read more

Purchased a men's ring for my husband before Christmas and was told it would arrive in 4-6 weeks. ...received in March. Called several times. I was told it was due to delays in getting materials but was not true. I asked to have owner call me which never happened. I recently had my wedding set resized at Michael's Creative Jewelry on Ray Road in Ahwatukee. What a wonderful experience! I met with Emily Garippa who examined my rings, inspected the setting for safety, and explained the entire process including what would be done, how long it would take, and the price. Every part of the experience was covered. I felt confident and safe leaving my precious wedding set with these fine jewelers. When I picked up my rings (work was completed early!)the size was perfect and they had cleaned up my rings so they sparkled like new. I can't speak to the quality of their products firsthand (but hopefully will be able to do so within the next year), but after finding the only local jeweler in the area with great reviews, I stopped by Michael's today to examine and polish my grandmother's ring, as well as to offer opinions on resetting it. I felt very welcome from the moment I entered, and no matter how many (in my opinion, annoying) questions I asked, the man who helped me responded with the utmost care, patience, and attention. I truly felt like I mattered--and it's not like I sauntered in with a designer bag and a huge diamond ring on my finger. I'm just a grad student. You don't get this kind of service at Scottsdale-based local jewelers. What I think blew me away about my experience is that it turns out (i.e., I learned just today) that my grandmother's ring, which was appraised by a lesser chain jewelry store that shall not be named to be worth more than my (granted, used) car, actually comprised a very low-end stone that could only barely pass as being of quality. I had every intention of resetting this stone in a nice, two-tone band with diamonds--a costly addition--and was instead told that it wouldn't make much sense to polish and reset a stone of this worth. In other words, they offered full and commendable honesty to a customer who would have easily spent $1,500-$2,000 right then and there, and instead told me the hard truth. I was so impressed with how they handled the situation, and my conflicted emotions that followed. I also had the chance to look around the store very closely, and am very impressed with the quality and diversity of what I saw. Whereas their website showcases their more experimental, avant garde designs, I can assure you that you can find anything you'd like here. You can also bring a picture (his example: from Pinterest; my example: from Brilliant Earth) and they will recreate whatever you show them with high-quality materials. Another HUGE plus: all conflict-free diamonds. Do not underestimate the importance of this. I will definitely be coming back to Michael's--my experience was great, even (or perhaps especially?) considering the quite negative circumstances. read more

After 35 years, needed to replace my wedding ring after losing the center stone and unable to repair the prongs. Michal assisted me with finding the perfect band. She listened to what I was wanting and gave me many beautiful options in the price range I requested. I went back 3 times to keep trying the band on and was always graciously welcomed.. Never did I feel pressured or rushed. I picked my band up today and love it! Michael's also offers free repairs, resizing, buffing, etc- amazing to have this additional service. I'm posting this so others aren't taken advantage of. I took my engagement ring to be repaired, the prongs were getting worn & when I had been in previously the woman working there, "Kathy", told me that I could lose my diamond. They initially recommended a new setting replacement that would cost approximately $350. I wasn't comfortable with that because I hadn't discussed it with my husband. I was going to wait on it when Kathy recommended having it re-tipped instead for the time being & not risk losing my diamond. I asked her what the process was & she explained that they would add platinum to my existing platinum prongs to secure it. I asked if it would change the look of the ring & she said no, it would look exactly the same & it would only cost $75. I agreed that would be a good temporary fix & left my ring. When I picked up my ring, as soon as I put it on I said that it looked shorter & not right. Kathy responded that it was because I wasn't wearing my glasses. I said I didn't think so (I've been wearing this ring for 20 plus years) but I second guessed myself, paid & left. When I showed my husband, mother in law, son, etc. they all agreed that it looked different. What Michael's did was not to add to my prongs but instead they cut my prongs, pushed down my diamond & folded the existing prongs back over resulting in a shorter ring with a different look (& it's crooked too). I did not have the foresight to take pictures in advance which wouldn't make much of a difference since I wouldn't trust to leave my ring with them again. The ring is special to me, as most engagement rings are to people. My husband went through a lot to purchase it all those years ago. I wanted to post this to save someone else the heartache. In addition, I was not a 1st time customer, I had made purchases there before, as well as repairs. At the time I picked up my ring there was another woman in there complaining about a ring repair that didn't meet expectations either. read more

Couldn't have had a better experience! I inquired to a create a custom wedding set from my grandmother's that was past down to me and received a reply within a day. Had an appointment setup with Randy in no time and he was all ears, working with me closely to ensure I got exactly what I wanted. I wanted to create a more modern yet timeless set and my vision was brought to life. Overall the process took about a month and that was as expected. Two weeks after the initial appointment where the design was developed, the wax molds were ready. This is so you can see what you designed brought to life before it is finalized. Everything was just as I wanted and I proceeded to having the rings made, but I was ensured the entire time that if I didn't like something with the wax molds we could go back to the drawing board and have them redone. I picked up my rings today, less than two weeks after checking out the wax molds, and everything was perfect! I have very small fingers but they got every detail right. Pricing was also amazing and I received great value on my gold exchange. I absolutely recommend Michael's Creative Jewelry! Even if you're unsure, check them out. They're willing to help and ensure you get what you want. Thank you SO much Randy. They do high quality work and stand behind their products. The next morning I realized it was not what I wanted and so we visited the North Valley store to look some more. I found the ring I wanted my stones set into and went to verify the change in this main store. After shopping at all the chain jewelry stores for an engagement ring, but not finding exactly what I was looking for, I stopped by Michael's just to comparison shop. Not only did they have a better selection, but Randy helped me design the exact ring I wanted. He walked me through the process and was so patient every time I modified the design and had another wax mold made. Randy kept me informed during every step of the project and even sent me pics of my ring as it was being created. The finished ring was more gorgeous than I ever could have imagined. I was a little disappointed to learn that the wax mold is destroyed in the ring making process and had wanted to incorporate the mold into a birthday present for my girl. Randy to the rescue again....he provided me a second mold of the ring at no charge. (Hey guys...you want to knock her socks off....get a championship ring display case off amazon and have it engraved with your names and engagement date and instead of your Superbowl ring, mount the wax mold in it. She'll cherish it.) This will be the only engagement ring I ever buy, but I can promise you any future jewelry purchases will be made here. Is there anything better than 5 stars? Beth!!! I worked with Beth to create a beautiful ring that contained stones from a ring of my fathers. She was beyond patient with me as I wandered through the store looking at rings to pattern mine after. She showed me ring after ring after ring. Once I made a decision, she worked with me to modify to make it a one of a kind. I wanted a different mount for the diamond than was in the original. She patiently guided me through the catalog of the various mounts, describing how the stone would mount and look in the ones I thought I might be interested in. I was worried that it might be able to bend or break off from the ring. She assured me it would not. Once the wax was finished, I went in to see and try it on and to make any modifications. Beth's communication in regard to as progress was being made was exceptional. When the setting was ready to have the stone mounted, I was nervous to leave the stone fearing it might be switched out. She spent time putting the ring under the magnifier and helped me to find a marker that I would be able to see when the ring was done to reassure me that it was my stone that was indeed mounted. I dropped the stone off when they opened, she called me at 5 and left a voice mail to let me know it was ready. I was stuck in traffic and at 5:55pm, she called me again to make sure I had gotten her message and if I was going to make it in. I answered this call, letting her know I would not make it. I told her I would be in first thing in the morning to pick it up. The next day was her day off, but, she said she would meet me at the store to deliver my ring, on her day off. I told her absolutely not, that if I had any questions, I would be in touch, when it wasn't her day off. Needless to say, the ring is beautiful. I couldn't be happier with it. The setting captures and displays the beauty of the stones and each time I look at it, I think of my dad and how pleased he would be. THANK YOU BETH!!! read more

I went in to have two charms added on to a bracelet .. I knew they would need to be respaced.. I wanted to have this done correctly that is why I chose Michael's .. The woman helping me had me so confused and I know she had no idea what I wanted done.. I have had excellent help before when going there. Not only that she told me my bracelet was considered scrap gold and only worth 200.00 .. The whole bracelet is 14k gold and I have paid more than 200.00 on just one charm.. The last time I was in there they told it the value was almost 3000.00 . I told the owner of my dissatisfaction and she was very pleasant .. They called me right away to pick it up but my charms were not respaced and I specifically asked to have one charm moved over a link and that was not done.. They told me to come back when I could leave it there for a few days .Well that is why I came in there the first place.. My bracelet might not be the top of the line but the sentimental value is priceless . I do still think 14k is top of the line. I paid 50.00 to have two charms soldered on and still didn't get what I came in to have done .. I am very disappointed and doubt I ever go there again .. One bad experience is enough .. I do have to say the help they had before was outstanding and went out of their was to accommodate me . read more
