When you need some take-out for your munchies??? Go get some takeout from Munchy's. Yet another GrubHub find of mine, I've become infatuated with their food & service. Munchy's is a cute little takeout spot oozing with nostalgia of all your favorite Texas-Wiener style (diner-looking) spots in New Jersey. Great interior that just speaks to your inner child, of those moments that you'd go get hot dogs and greasy food after a ball-game. The food is great. Your standard fast food spot with better execution. I always order the Texas Burger: A whopping burger of incredible beef, topped with sauteed onions, CRISPY onions, bacon, and BBQ sauce. Heaven on a bun (in which the bun literally tastes like a cloud made of Beyonce's tears). However, even their standard burger is made incredibly, and they don't give too many customizations... But you don't need extra custom stuff when you're getting quality meat. They make great breakfast, of which my fave is their chocolate chip pancakes. You can douse them with syrup, but you don't necessarily need to. Now on to those stellar milkshakes. Growing up, my favorite cereal has always been Cinnamon Toast Crunch. So imagine my level of glee to discover that a great food spot is also making one of their many delicious shakes with the Lebron James of cereals! Their milkshakes do NOT skimp on the primary flavors that are listed in them, but don't come close to riding the line of overly sweet. They're just right, dude. I pretty much love all of them, even the one that's adorned with Fruity Pebbles. So be sure to try that one as well. In addition to the taste bud bliss I experience with every bite, their service just caps the whole situation perfectly. Whenever I call, I'm always greeted happily and with pleasure, even when they're in the middle of a Saturday afternoon rush. And the drivers are always prompt, and definitely ensure that they deliver your food with the proper levels of heat, which is a gold star in my book. They are easily one of my go-to spots for my munchies, about twice a week. read more

My comments only apply to the vegetarian options, but there were awful. The guacamole was a plate of tortilla chips with a tiny cup of guacamole. The black bean Mexican combo was a lot of flavorless rice with a few flavorless beans wrapped in tortillas and topped with flavorless sauce. No hot sauce included. So I ordered a lunch combo...chicken burrito and a beef burrito. The chicken was dry and bland and the "ground beef"...I don't think was right. It was bland and mushy almost a powdery texture, had no "flavor" but it did have a taste that I could not swallow...there goes my money down the drain. I went here one time and it was back in 2014 and it was March 8, 2014 with my friend and it was at a funny time, I went there a little too late and I only went there because I had to try it and this is a place you can't go late at night, because they're either getting ready to close or they run out of stuff. The place is ideal for people going to work in that area or passing this area for breakfast or lunch, not recommended for dinner in my opinion. This isn't the first time I went here, I went to the then Munchy's in Wayne on December 20, 2013 (just five days before Christmas) because I just had to try it and the service was weird because, the lady didn't ask me if I wanted the food for here or to go, she just put my food in a bag and I asked if I can eat it inside and she said they were closing soon and I'm sorry that location closed. Remember for people trying this place: IT'S ONLY IDEAL for breakfast and lunch, NOT dinner and DO NOT go here 8:00 at night because they either have nothing left to eat or they're getting ready to close. For a place that looks like a classic food stand, the taste reminds me of something off of kitchen nightmares. The chicken tacos, my burrito were all microwaved without any care. Standard quick place to eat. More like a fast food spot but they also have salads. I ordered the BLT it was tasty. My boyfriend ordered the taco salad and we were pleasantly surprised to get such a fair portion of varied toppings. Would definitely get food from here especially again after a late night. read more

OK... let me start off by saying that this place obviously is not meant to be a Zagat-rated 5 star experience, so I will be rating it on what it is... a taco/burger/sandwich joint. Some things you need to know going in. The staff is young. Tatted up and scruffy. If this isn't something you can look past, this isn't the place for you anyway. If you want white linens and glass plates, move along. If you're looking for grass-fed beef, truffle oil, or lobster bisque, keep driving. If Family Guy or South Park offend you, wait outside for your order (if sports aren't on the TV, its usually one of these). That being said, the scruffy guys behind the counter are always friendly, and usually have some type of entertaining banter going on. And Family Guy is right up my alley, so on to the food. The burgers are awesome... seared crispy on a flat top, juicy, and cooked right. The 'Mexican' fare is more Tex-Mex, and its GOOD, not great. The tacos are the type you would make at home... crunchy shell, seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sauce. The burritos seem kind of lame at first, just a flour tortilla stuffed with taco meat or shredded chicken, cheese, and sauce. That's it. And they melt the cheese in the microwave. Sound pretty bad, right? Well, they aren't! I think it has to do with their taco sauce more than anything. I always get the hot, and its one of the best sauces I know if! These guys also make a MEAN breakfast sandwich. One of their Taylor ham, egg, and cheese monsters fills me up until dinner! TIP: never order tacos for delivery, they will be a soggy mess by the time they get to you. Pick them up or eat them there! Their biggest draw, however, is the Dealers Choice menu. Rutgers food truck style fat sandwiches with things like fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and such stuffed into rolls with cheese steaks, grilled chicken, burgers...I suggest trying the Acey Duecy (chicken fingers, mozz sticks, fries, gravy). After reading all the reviews, perhaps I will give it another try, BUT.... I ordered the soft shell chicken taco for $2.50. The cook took a tortilla from a plastic bag, put on some chicken, shredded lettuce and cheese and tomatoes, asked if I wanted mild medium, or hot sauce. He give me a little sauce and a few sliced tomatoes, and then HEATED IT IN THE MICROWAVE. REALLY? The sauce was not very good nor at all spicy. I stopped by this place because it's not too often I see tacos being advertised outside of a non-Mexican establishment. I had a nostalgic moment from California and decided to check it out. We ordered a soft beef taco, chicken enchilada, and a breakfast burrito. The soft taco reminded us of a homemade taco bell rendition, except the beef wasn't very flavourful. The chicken enchilada was bland. The breakfast burrito was ok, but I find it hard to ruin breakfast items. I can see why some people like this place, but as for someone who used to live in California and loves the taste of authentic tacos, it just wasn't for me. I have no idea why this place has such good reviews. We order from here a couple of times and the food has been awful. I think the chicken in their tacos are from a can. I think my main concern is the bread. I hate old bread and I feel that their bread is always old. Good burger meat. Besides that they are very overrated. read more

Have driven past Munchy's a million times, and was happy that my wife decided to bring us home lunch from there today. Being the recipient of a takeout order, I can't comment on the interior of the restaurant, but I am told that it is more of a takeout joint with a table or two for eat-in customers. Our order consisted of: Chicken Nuggets - The kids finished them, so that alone means they were good. I'll confess that I snuck one (or two) and they were, in fact, very good. Turkey Sub - Freshly sliced Thumann's turkey with lettuce on a fresh sub roll. My wife enjoyed it. Chicken Cutlet with Bacon - Served on a fresh sub roll with lettuce, tomato, and onion, it consisted of two full chicken cutlets, which were promptly devoured by yours truly. Yummy. I work a town over in Wayne so I found this awesome place with some Yelp help and decided to come for lunch. They have their own parking lot which is always good, inside is kind of crammed...two tables and single window table seatings...mmmmkay I glanced their verity of a menu and I went with the royal flush sandwich which is a cheese steak with mozz sticks, chicken fingers,fries, bacon with your choice of sauce...or in my creation I had bbq and marinara sauce ...also ordered cheese fries with ketchup and washed all that goodness down with a crush grape soda...all in all kind of pricey for what I ordered ...paid 16$ and change for everything, it's a Rutgers "r u hungry fat sandwich" type...they didn't stuff it like a r u hungry it's why my fatass is a bit blah about the experience jk lol..but it is sort of pricey but they do have cheaper items on their list like the tacos and burritos read more

Wanted my order delivered, I was told it would take 60 minutes, 1 hour. I ordered hot food, just keep that in mind. Called them after 90 minutes, 1.5 hours, was told it was out for delivery. Called again after 120 minutes, 2 hours, was told that the first time they spoke to me, it wasn't really out for delivery but this time it was. A hidden gem! We've driven by Munchy's countless times and finally decided to stop in for lunch. Why I haven't written a review of this place yet shows how far behind I am in Yelp. This place defines what an awesome greasy, heart-clogging, flavor-busting extravaganza is. I have tried a majority of their Dealer's Choice menu and every single one is spot-on-satisfying. The previous Early Birds had nothing compared to Munchy's. The place is just a neighborhood gem. I love getting the Joker's Wild or Jacks Or Better sandwiches, but more often than not I hit the Royal Flush. Cheesesteak, mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, French fries, bacon and whatever sauce you want on a sub roll. Holy crap my heart has just infarcted and my taste bud is drooling for some right now. They have the breakfast deal of the century every day until 9 am. 2 eggs on a roll for a dollar. That's $1.00. I pay in quarters. I can eat breakfast here every day of the week for $7 dollars. Someone let me know if that can be beat, but I don't expect it to. read more
