Supreme chicken is the best, somewhat loud & dark. Call before you go, it can be a lengthy wait! I

We came here on a Friday at around 5pm. There were already a couple tables seated and by the time we left at around 7:30 it was full. This is definitely a place for young people to come and drink and just relax. The music is pretty loud but could be a good hangout. The service is really good and the food and drinks came very quickly. We ordered beer, Soju and snow onion chicken. The chicken was really delicious. Wasn't dry at all. The outside was very crispy and airy but not oily at all. The onions aren't the very strong spicy onions but a sweeter onion. The sauce felt watery but it went perfectly with the onion and chicken. If I'm craving Korean fried chicken, I would definitely order from here. The portions are huge and the prices for chicken are not bad. I would definitely want to come back to try their other menus as they have a lot of authentic Korean (sul-jib) bar menus that you can't find at other Korean restaurants Tip: if you order on their site for to-go you get 15% off chicken

Hidden KFC restaurant near English Bay. Delicious and flavourful traditional Korean food, with some unique items. Generous portions too. The restaurant is quite dimly lit, with some neon lights at night, so it feels like a very authentic Korean izakaya-type dining. Very cute hand-drawn menus too. *ALERT: Their chicken batter contains peanuts* Supreme Chicken $27: HUGE portions, definitely worth the price. On the sweet side, and it's very saucy and flavourful. Yogo (Yogurt) Salad $8.50: SO GOOD. Kind of like cole slaw (shredded cabbage), but it's sweet and creamy. Scoop of ice cream on top. Honestly, it sounded weird on the menu, but it turned out to be my favourite dish surprisingly. Rose Teok Bok Ki (Rice Cakes) $18: not too spicy, it's a unique twist on traditional rice cakes in a creamy sauce. Includes lots of assorted fish cakes too. Cheesy Bacon Gamja Jeon (Potato Pancake) $19: finely shredded potatoes infused with Parmesan cheese, that is super crispy (eat it right away). Heavy black pepper taste (this can be either a pro or con). Cheese Gam-Ja (Fries) $9: Cheese powder from Korea, that's salty and sweet. Much better than movie theatre popcorn cheese powder.

Mumu kitchen was AWESOME - great chicken and fun vibe even on a Tuesday. We got the seafood pancake, fried chicken with jalapeños and the kimchi cheese rice. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and extremely addictive. Just thinking about it makes me crave it all. The vibe is funky with KPop music videos going on in the background on the tv and other tables drinking soju, things got alittle loud but we didn't mind! The half order of chicken was big enough for three of us and the pieces were nice and juicy with such crispy skin! Great spice factor as well. I love a good seafood pancake and my bf and I make them at home a lot. This seafood pancake was huge! We took home nearly half of it! It was really yummy and full of different kinds of seafood! Lastly the kimchi cheese rice was also awesome, piping hot and gooey! I loved the addition of the egg on top also! Adds a great texture to the rice. Overall awesome joint that I will no doubt order from again! They have so many different chicken options I can't wait to try them all.

A delicious Korean restaurant by English Bay Mumu is a hidden gem in the West End, offering an authentic taste of Korea by the waterside! Everything was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. They have some of the best Korean fried chicken in all of Vancouver, and I absolutely love and recommend their yogu salad!

This place popped up on our map when we were looking for Korean fried chicken. We do like ourselves some fried chicken especially the spicy kind and so we got the "Volcano" chicken. We we wanted spicy and they delivered. :) We got take out, and by the time we got back home and started eating, the chicken what would have been a bit more crisp, was already a bit less crisp, but delicious none the less. Same for the fries. The mild cheesiness and tad sweet went perfectly with the "spicy" chicken. The 5 stars are with an assumption that the chicken and fries would be crisp and taste much better when eaten fresh.

For less than $25, one box comes with a lot of pieces of chicken. So crispy, juicy and savoury (bone-in is superior) It's near English Bay so you can easily walk to the beach and have a picnic! Matcho King is my favourite so far and I definitely want to come back to try their other fried chickens.

Best vibes for late night drinking, amazing Korean food and drinks to choose from. Service is great and location is near English Bay which is perfect.

    Honey garlic chicken.

Food was great. We walked up to the restaurant that was covered with black tint windows. Wasn't sure if we were walking into a night club. It felt a little undergroundish. Definitely a young person hang out but there was an elderly man on his own enjoying his multi course meal. We opted for the Korean potato pancake and chicken, both were delicious. We basically ordered,a ate and left since any conversation would have to be loud and constantly saying "pardon me". Our sever was friendly and attentive to filling our water.

Korean guy at the front waves at us, asks how many people, and directs us to a seat. Then another Korean guy comes over and scolds us, telling us to next time please wait at the front until being seated. Clearly they have some organizational issues here and not a great start to this visit. We place our order. Food for 2 of our 4 arrive about 10 mins later. The food for the other 2 people arrive another 20 mins later. Meanwhile the food for the first 2 ppl just sit there. Thankfully they were in clay pots so it was still warm at least, but this is ridiculous. There is no reason for this. If you're slow to get food out, fine, but bring it all out at once. The restaurant itself is huge, looks like a lounge and bar but mostly empty. The staff are all dressed differently too in street clothes so its hard to tell who works there. They are clearly struggling with understaffing. We had a caucasian waitress who came by to deliver food. She was very nice and friendly. About the food. We ordered: kimchi soondubu - asked for extra spicy, it was barely spicy. beef/seafood mixed soondubu - asked for spicy, it was straight up not spicy. The broth base was the same for each, and lacked depth of flavour. The tofu itself was pretty good, silky smooth, but tofu takes on the flavours of whatever it's cooked with and in this case, not much... The beef in these was just ok and there wasnt much of it. The seafood in the mixed one amounted to 1 clam and 1 shrimp shell-on. There was nothing else in it. 2/5 for both of these. Gamjatang - medium sized portion, good for 2, maybe 3 people. Meat was ok, broth was not bad. Solid average. 3/5. banchan served with the meals were the biggest disappointment. 2/5. This might be the most disappointing banchan ive had in a Korean restaurant in a long time. They served regular cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, and bean sprouts. thats it. None of them were particularly good (not bad, just nothing great). And for a party of 4, they served a single portion of each banchan for the whole table. We had to ask for refills 3 more times. You have 4 diners, all with food that comes with Banchan normally. Wouldnt it be reasonable to bring out 4 portions of banchan right off the bat? Especially when you're understaffed? Overall: Main dishes 2.5/5. Banchan 2/5 for overall selection and quality. Service 2/5 - really comes down to severe understaffing and really poor management of how the kitchen is run. The staff there do their best but they need help. Venue 3/5. Overall, 2 to 2.5/5. This place might be the worst Korean place on the Robson strip of all the ones Ive been to. That's saying a lot, since Vancouver doesnt have amazing Korean food to begin with, and this is one of the worst of the bunch.

They answered all my questions and offered recommendations, and were very welcoming. Nam San seems to be very popular for their Soondae (blood sausage). However, I've never really tried Soondae before and I was feeling nauseous on the day of my visit--so I opted for something more mild and less "adventurous" instead. I will definitely be back to try their Soondae next time though. Daeji Gukbap 10/10 This boiled bowl of stew was exactly what my upset tummy needed. The creamy broth warmed me right up and soothed my stomach so well. It was the only thing I was able to keep down in two days. There was also a generous amount of tender and flavourful pork inside. This bowl of stew honestly reminded me so much of the one we tried in Busan. Definitely recommend it to anyone who likes stews. There was no gaminess at all, and yet the soup was still so full of flavour. Absolutely delicious. So this place now operates under the name Nam San but is still an absolute gem. One of the three…read moreremaining stalls in the Robson Public Market food court, Nam San specializes in pork offal and homemade Korean blood sausage (soondae), incorporated into a variety of dishes. I always order the same thing, a mixed pork offal and soondae soup. You can choose the spiciness level when you order but they also offer red pepper flakes and fish sauce on the side to add to taste. It comes in small and large, with a side of pickled radish, roasted seaweed, and white rice. Even with the small, you get a lot of meat in the hot stone bowl and it is so comforting. The offal is super tender but the star here is definitely the soondae. Pork blood and vermicelli with spices are encased in an intestine casing, making for a unique springy texture. It's even more tasty when you dip into their homemade fish sauce and the stew warms you to the bone. I love supporting small mom and pop shops, and with how tucked away this place is on the busy Robson strip, I'll definitely make an effort to frequent them time and time again. Please pay them a visit and try their unique offerings out!
