We've been coming to Mulligans for many many years. Always a good meal. Things changed when ownership changed a few years back and we were disappointed. But on our trip this week to Vermont we tried them again and they have definitely stepped up their game. Food has definitely improved and the staff seems to have settled in. Our lunch was a disaster. The server didn't know what an old fashioned was, so just ordered me a whiskey on the rocks. Ordered wings for an appetizer and two orders of fried oysters. Got a plate of wingettes with 1 drummette. Oysters came out before we could finish wings and everything was cold, so safe to say the waiter just ordered everything at the same time. They put us in a small dining room, which only a couple of tables were occupied when we got there, but filled up quickly and it was quite loud with a couple of larger tables. Feel like this overwhelmed our waiter. When we got the food, the "grilled" chicken on top of my Caesar salad was obviously from a bag and my hubby got chicken wings which were definitely frozen wings you can get from the grocery store. They were totally soggy and unable to eat (gross). We sat, and sat while our waiter kept going back to the table of ladies (guess they were the loudest, so he keep going to their table). Horrible restaurant. We ordered nachos to share. There was so much cheese on them, it was hard to tell where the chips were and it caused the chips to be so greasy they were soggy. The menu said they came with guacamole and sour cream. We were given two plastic cups of some sort of gross mixture of sour cream and something green that didn't resemble guacamole. We also had clam chowder. It was the most mediocre soup ever. My son ordered French onion soup. Again, he took about five bites and didn't finish it because it was so bad. I ordered a salmon special. It was supposed to have some sort of Asian sauce, which I literally wiped off with a napkin because it was gross. The service was slow and extremely rude. The atmosphere was pretty bad. I had heard so many good things about their KFC, that I decided to go and try it. Unfortunately, the night I went, they were out of it. So I got a nice burger with fries and it was good. Food was good, service was sub par, waitress didn't seam to really care or listen to what we wanted before we had even finished our meal the check was on the table. She cleared out plates and even took my water without even asking if I had done with it. Then you have the card on the table informing you that if you pay by credit or debit card a 4% charge will be added. and blaming Covid, well charging a 4% fee on a debit card is against visa and Mastercard policies and NOTallowed as per your contract . And from the amount of people in the establishment on a Tuesday night I don't think the Covid excuse can be used anymore given your obviously not following any other COVID 19 guidelines. Consistency, NOT. Came here last night and ate in the pub. Great food and exceptional service. Chowder and poutine for me, British pasties for my wife. Desert was fantastic, cherry pie and ice cream. Tonight in the dining room a totally different experience. Bangers and mash was good but my wife's steak was not cooked to order and was also not cooked to the specific taste ordered. Always good food and atmosphere. It's an easy going pub with American food. The service is a little slow, but we're from MA and I can't tell if it's just us used to faster paced or if they truly are just slow haha we end up at Mulligans every time we're in Manchester and the food is consistent. Needed some grub post snowboarding and wanted to find a place to watch the football game have some dinner and beer. The bar was packed but we decided to rough it and sit away from the TVs at the bar and semi watch the game through a high reflection window from afar the size of a postage stamp ‍. Digressing hard but this a cozy place with super friendly staff. I'm Chinese with heritage from Hong Kong aka Canton. Guess what is on the freakin menu at this random Irish pub in VT? Canton pork ribs and a ramen option. What is going on? Is this real? I decided to go all in with the ribs cuz yolo as the whipper snappers say. Did I regret ordering it?No. Was it good? Um YES (which added even more confusion) The meat was tender and fall off the bone. The marinade was def using a mixture of familiar canton spices/sauces. The rice was a bit soggy and it came with kimchi which is Korean which I gave them a pass for both. I'd say it was a solid 4.5 in the rib department but def round up for these guys stepping out of the norm and putting this on the menu. We checked out mulligans after a friend of ours recommended the New England clam chowder. It has very nice looking outdoor seating and overall a comfortable and friendly place to visit. The bartender was boisterous and friendly, and not afraid to inject some quick wit into a conversation. We really loved the shrimp and spinach flatbread. A flatbread with shrimp on it?? Cmon I'm there no questions. The shrimp had a nice flavor with a tasty Gruyère cheese on it. I often think about when the Food Network or Cooking Channel chastise people for mixing cheese and fish yet every time I have fish with cheese on it, it's delicious. And on the Food Network when these "chefs" taste a piece of fish with cheese on it, they often say wow, surprisingly, this really works. Why don't they just stop with that stupid rule to begin with of no cheese and fish together. The New England clam chowder was very tasty, I do like larger chunks of clams in my chowder, but it still was very yummy and came with oyster crackers on the side. They had a nice beer selection as well. We will certainly be back when we pass through. read more

This place is a locals kind of joint but sees plenty of tourists during peak season. Ask many people around the Manchester area where to eat and they'll likely point you to Mulligan's. We sat down around 7pm and the place was packed. Like many restaurants, they were doing the best they could with a skeleton crew. The waitress was very friendly and sweet. We ordered our drinks. I got a maple bourbon smash which was great and strong. My fiancee got a Stratton Mountain Freeze which was also very good. For apps we ordered the wood smoked wings and poutine. The wings were KILLER. Fantastic flavor, juicy chicken, and went great with honey mustard. The poutine was really satisfying as well, loaded with bacon, gravy, and cheese. For dinner I had the works burger. When you picture "pub burger," the works burger at Mulligan's is what you see in your head. Cheddar, mushrooms, onions, nice and big, perfect bun-to-patty ratio. My fiancee got the fish sandwich which looked good but was a little messy. We were too full for dessert so we passed on that, but we stayed and chatted with the very kind waitress for a bit. This place definitely is a "feels-like-home" kind of bar. It's a great choice for a comfortable and casual meal near a town like Manchester, which can often feel a bit too rich or stuffy. read more

Be careful They charge the tip automatically and do not give good service. The food is good, although it was two hamburgers with french fries and some fried calamari. No soft drinks and it came out at about $51.00. The tip was added 18% which added up to about $60.00 and a few cents. I had ordered onion rings instead of french fries and she forgot. They brought the food and the waitress was no more to be seen. Dirty dishes stayed on our table all the time, glasses were not big, and water ran out. Then at the end he came with the ticket and the tip charge included. The ticket also brought a space to give more tip. I think they did not try to give a good service, since they automatically charge you the tip. Very badly. read more

Delicious!! This place is a new favorite for me! We started off with the chicken quesadilla which was so yummy. We've never had refried beans in our quesadilla before and it is now a must! For dinner my boyfriend got the steak sandwich and he loved it. He said it was a little hard to eat and messy but was so good! I got the Reuben and it was 10/10. The corned beef, sauerkraut, Russian dressing and rye bread all worked so well together! Our waitress was also so nice and we felt bad because she was slammed but she worked so hard!! I have been going to mulligans for over twenty years. Over the past few months I've been going about 3 times a month. During that time, I've had Scott the bartender serve me at the bar several times for dinner, as I was alone. He is horrible. He ignores customers, goes out for a smoke when he has customers waiting and forgets to put orders in the system. I went tonight and walked out after sitting at the bar for close to 15 minutes - only 5 other patrons at the bar. He never acknowledged we existed. No menus, no asking if we wanted a drink either. He went out for a smoke and then returned and still ignored us. We got up and left. Told the owner and his only answer was 'we get lots of compliments on Scott'. My last time at mulligans. I'd rather spend more on a meal and be treated well. read more

We've been here for both lunch and dinner...and a mid afternoon snack. This is a good place to go for a meal or a drink. It's just down the road from the Equinox or just up the road from the outlets. They have PBR on tap which is a plus; and probably should be a requirement in Manchester. Fred Pabst founded Bromley Mountain. The food here is good. I've gone the sandwich/burger route. Other times, we've split a plate of nachos. Nachos for two...it's a lot of nachos! We took some home. There are a few different rooms you. Service was good each time we visited. They have another location at the base of Stratton Mountain. I believe they also own Whisky Dick's; just south of the Stratton Access road. I thought I had heard the same owner owns a few places in the Cheshire/Wallingford CT area. But I couldn't verify online. Over all a good place to grab a drink and a bite to eat. We're from out of town (Houston) and we've come here the last two nights. This place has everything I like in a bar/restaurant. There are 20 different beers on draft (including local offerings), a nice upscale bar vibe, great music (that's not too loud), eight TV screens, a nice patio situation, fast/attentive service, etc. The food is great (definitely not bar food), The portions are awesome, there is a big variety, and the prices are reasonable. Would never go to this establishment. This place went downhill for real. Where to begin.. the wings were straight frozen wing dings like you get at a good rate Kennedy Fried Chicken. Nachos were absolute trash, cheese was congealed and not even melted properly. Chips were stale as shit. My son went with the lobster roll. I genuinely feel bad that this was his first lobster roll. I swear they went down the street to Orvis and got some rubber lobster lures on sale and tried to boil them bitches. Straight up putrid. My medium rare burger was cooked so hard it was like a hockey puck made of a burnt tire. I cannot wait till it makes it to the other side. It will probably be like a brick. Sorry, Mulligan's, not impressed. The best thing about this restaurant is that it is in the building that used to be The Harvest Inn, a favorite from my childhood. After that exciting discovery, things went downhill. It is a pub-type atmosphere. Not a problem, I love a pub, but no gluten free anything, beer, bread, bun, or prep. Most of the world has come around to accept that some customers prefer to avoid gluten and will offer a gluten free bun for hamburgers or at least suggest a lettuce wrap for your burger as an alternative. Nope. No gluten-free. The food was okay but I had a hard time choosing from the menu because of the dearth of gluten free options. There was a sign on the table that a 4% charge would be added to the bill if paid with a credit card. Well, it's good that they warned us, and it really didn't add much to the bill, but it was off-putting. I do pretty much everything with credit now and wasn't stocked with cash. Oh well. Just a little unwelcoming. Service was good, efficient and quick, though the wait-person was pretty much run off her feet and a understandably a little brusque. I know nearly every establishment we visit lately is looking for help it's understandable. read more

Ate here on 9/15, very busy spot, sat at the bar, got a great beer recommendation and went with the Fiddlehead IPA. For dinner my wife had Sesame Chicken, I had the Bangers and Mash, delightful food.
