I go to Mulligans quite often with my friends. We especially love wine Wednesdays. We share one or two bottles of wine and always order the bruschetta. It is very good. It always comes out piled high with fresh ingredients and a fantastic balsamic reduction. The black and blue steak salad is just delicious with the steak cooked perfectly. The burgers are juicy and tasty piled high with bacon and cheese and lots of toppings. The bartenders, wait staff and management are friendly and welcoming. Jack is always greeting you with a smile and making sure you8 are well taken care of. It is by far the better place to go for drinks and appetizers, or for a full blown meal. They even do private parties in the back room. We will continue to go to Mulligans. read more

We stopped at this spot as out-of-towners and found it was one of the few places open for lunch. The bar selection was nice and everything inside was clean and neat. We were given very knowledgeable advice about a few beers and were even given a sample of my second choice. Our burgers were beautifully done and a nice medium rare. My expectations of what small town food would be like were totally obliterated when I tasted their homemade chips. Yum yum! I don't know how long it has been since I found a place that makes their own sides like that and it was such a pleasure to be there. We will certainly return the next time we are in the area. First off, I didn't get the appetizers I asked for, as the waitress sat on her phone for 15 minutes. My burger was cooked not as I asked. We got a appetizer with chips, the dip is maybe a cup and the chips are endless... We were there for a good 20 minutes before getting our food. She put our drinks that wasn't water in a pitcher where all of the ice melted in the pop. Not a place that I would go back too, I would give the negative stars if I was able too. read more

Atmosphere was nice. Service was good. Food was average. Slightly over-priced for the quality, but with limited options in Cheboygan it could have been worse. My 24 week pregnant wife took one bite of her alfredo pasta dish and sent it back. I tried it, and it definitely wasn't right. First time we've ever done that I think, but they swapped the meal for some tasty fajitas with no fuss. We'll probably try them again next time we're in town. read more

This place has a great beer selection. The bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable. The food was just ok. We ordered a chicken club which was pretty good. The greek salad was pretty poor. Quite a few pieces of lettuce were brown. We told the bartender/waiter and all he did was tell the chef. No compensation. No apology. It took almost an hour and a half for our dinners to make it to the table. The excuse was "a large party in the back room", but the tables to either side of us were seated after we were, and served before us. Once dinner did arrive, it was marginal. Baked potato not cooked, and the vegetables were also undercooked. Someone needs better instruction on how to use a microwave. Manager seemed more interested in delivering chairs to over- occupied tables than making sure the kitchen gets the food out in a timely and edible fashion. Overall, a horrorshow. We walked in and saw a "please wait to be seated" sign. Waited 5 minutes for someone to tell us to seat ourselves. Waited another 5 minutes for someone to take our drink orders even through the place wasn't busy. Salad bar was not worth the money. Only 3 choices of dressing and one of those was fat free. I prefer the goat cheese medallions which came with bruschetta and garlic toast. The goat cheese was pan seared. When it came out the cheese was cold not even warm, the toast was only toasted on one side and was soggy and it was supposed to have a balsamic reduction which was minimal at best. Since the server never came once to check on us I wasn't able to ask her to have it heated or to get refills on drinks. Wouldn't recommend his place. read more

READ BEFORE YOU ORDER MEAT: Unfortunately, I must report negatively about my dining experience after many years of patronage to this restaurant. I ordered the prime rib cooked medium rare and received an overly cooked through piece of meat. In my attempt to return it for a properly cooked one, I was informed that the chefs could only cook their entire supply to one temperature. I spoke with the manager who admitted that their prime rib is reheated from day to day and therefore gets over-cooked. Since that (new?) policy was not disclosed upon ordering, I requested the whitefish in its place. When my new meal arrived, the plastic sauce container was placed on top of the sizzling plate and melted onto the dish. The manager took my bill and stated he would "take care of it", but still charged me for my meal. While I appreciate the attempt at a meal replacement, both dishes were prepared inappropriately and nothing was ultimately done on the managerial side to correct the issue. More concerning is the restaurant's willingness to serve warmed-over meat from an earlier day, instead of cooking items fresh to order. My family and I will no longer be returning to this establishment. read more

Came to here for lunch, food was good but disappointed in the service. The waitress only came to the table to take our order and give us food and then boxes and check. Never once checked on us to see if we needed anything, which I did. She instead stood talking to the other staff. Had to wait a while to even get the check. Cannot praise them enough! Mulligan's did a fabulous job catering our rehearsal dinner for our wedding. Given limited options we crossed our fingers and jumped in. Everyone raved about the delicious food and went home stuffed to the gills. They catered for us in the old Boathouse location which they decorated beautifully (even matching our colors despite us never telling them). The staff even happily sent us home with hot meals for those who missed the event due to flight problems. Could not have asked for better! read more

We stopped at mulligans for lunch. I was impressed with the variety of menu items that were available. My wife ordered a burger with a dinner salad and I had to go for the Monster. This burger is amazing!!! Two third pound patties, corned beef, bacon, lettuce tomato and onion and stood about eight inches tall. You better be hungry to tackle this one. Our server was great. We had a party of five. One guest ordered the spinach salad. Another ordered the pasta with seafood. The other three orders were Mulligan's burgers ordered medium well. We all asked for American cheese to be added. We waited over an hour for our food (the restaurant was not very busy). The Mulligan's burgers came without cheese. We sent them back. Another 30 minutes and still no burgers (although our server told us they were ready). Finally came - 40 minutes later (our one guest with his pasta ate his meal so it wouldn't be cold - the guest with the salad waited staring at hers until our burgers came back). My son's burger was rare, mine was medium rare and my husband refused to touch his - he couldn't believe the horrific service. We will not be back. The server blamed the kitchen staff, the manager blamed the server. No one took any responsibility. read more

Decided to make the short trip down from Mackinaw City to try this place and was one of the wisest choices we made. Had the sirloin tips and fried pickles as appetizers and both were great! For main courses we had the following: Cobb Salad (very good), Nachos (excellent), Prime Rib Pasta (excellent) and Fish Sandwich with Onion rings (very good). Prices were all reasonable. Mulligans, located in the heart of Cheboygan is a pleasant establishment which seems to serve food from GFS. The reheated GFS meals are the same as most other restaurants in the area. I had the Friday night fish & chips special with heavily breaded fish sticks. This all you can eat special was $13, about $3 more than other restaurants in the area. The up charge is partly justified by ambiance. These folks need to hire a chef who uses fresh ingredients. Two stars with a short order cook. read more

Me and my husband talked about what a great meal we had the next day it was so good. We had the pork nachos as an appetizer, my husband had the shrimp dinner and I had the chicken fajitas.
