Stopped in while exploring the Island. LOVED the ceiling! I opted for the fish and chips which comes with a side of Cole slaw (vinegar based). I traveled to Scotland and London, and this fish and chips beat out what I had while there. I am not a huge fan of steak fries, but these lived up to my expectations and had enough crisp on some to make up for the softness I associate with this type of fry. The Cole slaw was enough to be a meal in itself. But the fish, were the star of my plate and the tartar sauce...I need this recipe or a bottle of the sauce. My travel mate opted for the Ruben sandwich. I tasted the corned beef, had a great flavor to it. There were no complaints from our table. She also got a coffee to go, asked for cream...came out with the cutest little cream pitcher. The cup is also biodegradable, which is great since it would end up in a recycle bin along the way. Great staff, clean, nice restrooms (two sets), and plenty of space to have a group come in for a sit down meal. read more

Stopped in here after the 8 mile bicycle ride. The young lady recommended it when we turned the bikes in. Scored two seats at the bar. The Doud's Ale was excellent. Ordered wings and an order of chips (fries). Both were excellent! Bartender offered us more blue cheese dressing without us asking. Small thing, but nice touch; her service was excellent. It's very "pubbish" and comfortable. Great vibe. If you go to the island, I highly recommend this place. The prices were actually less than I thought they would be...a big order of fries was five bucks. Beer on tap was eight bucks. After, go to Kilwins for a cone and sit on a hotel porch. read more

We went to the island for a quick trip with family. It was almost 2 pm and we were hungry. Initially, I put in for a table at the Pink Pony but that wait was ridiculous, almost 2 hours for a table for 6. So we went down to the pub and luckily we were able to get a table right away. I should note, we also chose this pub because it had Gluten Free options and we had someone with us who could only eat Gluten Free. We were provided water fairly quickly, but to order took a little bit, about 20 minutes. I would say there were only two waitstaff working on a busy afternoon. The pub is kind of small, with seating at the bar, along the sides and then two high top tables in the middle. Once we ordered our food didn't take too long to get. I ordered a Reuben, and got the vinegar coleslaw. Rueben was good, I wouldn't say great for being an Irish Pub. The coleslaw was actually cream based so based on the menu saying vinegar I was a bit surprised. Two others ordered hamburgers which they said were just ok. All in all, the dining experience was alright, nothing spectacular but because we got seated quickly and were hungry it was good for us. read more

The fish and chips were excellent. The chips were a little soggy and salty, but the fish is the best I've had in a long time. My friend for the Reuben sandwich and loved it. Always a little worried about entering an Irish pub. There are many that just don't pull it off, you know? Well, this place does a good job. It's good the look and the food is very, very good. Only went for lunch, but there was a nice crowd and the mood in the place was festive. Really enjoyed the Reuben. My wife loved the Guinness stew. Also, the malt vinegar slaw was quite tasty. read more

Stopped in with our group of 11 on a busy Saturday around 1:00 and put our name on the list. Right on time, they said it'd be a 45 minute wait and it was. The food was great, with good choices for everyone in our group, from the young kids to us older folks. The ambiance was fun and upbeat and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner the next day. It's one of our new favorites. read more

You'll see the name Doud's all over Mackinac--from the grocery store to the deli to the pub. This is a classic pub that makes you feel like you're in Europe. My friend told me about the fish and chips here, but I opted for their classic burger which came smothered in sauteed onions and cheese with steak fries. Delicious! read more

Excellent food and great beer options - unfortunately they tapped their keg of Guinness and were not expecting to get anymore. Nice place to rest - very calm inside even though Main Street is so loud and busy! read more

Our group of 10 came here for dinner on a Thursday, it wasn't busy, we were seated immediately. Note: They don't split checks of parties of 6 or more. An 18% gratuity is added to parties of 6 or more. I ordered the Ale Battered Fish and Chips. It was decent. It was filling. I was satisfied. Not super hungry? Order off the kids menu. My sister did and it was just enough. Service was good. Our server took care of us all evening, kept our drinks topped off. read more

I absolutely love this bar. It's iconic for locals and tourists alike. The bartenders here are some of the most welcoming and fun people on the island who set a great ambiance for a great time. Try the espresso martini, cosmo, cherry mule, or even get creative and ask the bar staff to invent a drink for you. They also offer a variety of entertainment each night from trivia, Kareoke, and themed parties, it's a lively atmosphere you're bound to enjoy. I'll come back again and again. read more

My family and I grabbed dinner tonight at Doud's and had a really great meal! We loved the decor although the people sitting at the bar were pretty loud. Our server was awesome and so sweet! She was always checking on us and even gave us to-go cups when we left! All of our meals were delicious! I got the fish sandwich with chips and Bleu cheese cole slaw which was amazing! The kids got the chicken fingers with fries and the other got the Doud's House Burger and they both gave their meals a 9/10. My wife got a chopped Bleu cheese salad and she said it was OK, but hey, it's a salad... And a half portion at that. Overall, we'd definitely recommend checking it out! read more

Best meal I had on the island, and that includes a few of the fancier spots. I went in with pretty modest expectations, since restaurants in heavy tourist areas don't always have to impress (a new boatload of visitors shows up every day). But this place completely delivered. The food was outstanding, the service was warm and attentive, and it exceeded anything I expected. The only downside is that I can't take it home with me. read more

We struggled with the service here to be honest. We waited 10 minutes at least to be greeted by a server after being seated. We waited another 15 to get our drinks, others being seated around us getting drinks before we did. We only had a table of 5 so it wasn't a super large party or that of crazy drink requests. We didn't skip a beat to get our order placed for food for fear of waiting longer. The brussel sprouts and the fish and chips were both hits at the table. read more
