The food at this cute little place good, but what makes this place a 5 is the waitress Makenzie. She's attentive with a genuine smile and great timing. Great friendly service, Jordan was wonderful. We were able to get a table right on the water overlooking the harbor, beautiful. The food was very good; Mexican taco salad, chicken tacos, nachos and fried avocado appetizer. Oh I also had the sriracha mango margarita, which was perfect. read more

We ordered a smash burger and loaded quesadillas- French fries tasted fishy and quesadillas was not stuffed with anything but air. When we showed the waitress she picked out the 3 pieces of cheese that were in there as the resolution. IDK don't call it a quesadilla - so disappointing- it is on the water though , so it does have a beautiful view. Worse place to eat on the island by far!! This is one of the first restaurants that you encounter once you are on Mackinac Island. To be seated, you have to go to the back of the restaurant to find the hostess stand. We had to wait for the hostess to be seated, it was kinda a confusing process. The wait for food and drinks was long and hot. It was about 2 in the afternoon and not busy, not sure what the issue was. That said, the margarita flight was gorgeous and the food was tasty. We tried a wet burrito, avocado bites, tacos and more tacos. The floor by the bar going to the restrooms was super wet with no signage and was a hazard to anyone that needed the facilities. read more

My husband and I are always on the search for a really good taco. This place just wasn't it. The service was really good, but the tacos were nothing to be impressed by. They came by themselves, 3 tacos. There were some other places on the island that were the same price, better tacos and came with a side. Created a yelp account to make this review. Dont eat here, its way too expensive and we honestly walked out comparing this meal to taco bell. The $12 "house made" guacamole tasted like the blandest pre-packaged gas station guacamole you could imagine. Their "signature dish" the $22 Rock and Rye tacos could have been scraped out of any apathetically managed taco buffet. Honestly the best part of the taco was the vinegar slaw garnish. How is that your "signature dish"? My wife ordered the loaded quesadilla, upon tasting it her first comment was "that cheese is nasty, it reminds me of tacobell". To top it off the hostess was too busy talking to her coworkers to seat us, the waitress was indifferent and gave off the impression that she didnt want to be there and initially rang in the wrong food for my wife so she had to wait twice as long for her food. The views from the patio are gorgeous. The margaritas are great. Prices are reasonable. Portions are HUGE! I had the stuffed quesadilla and couldn't finish it. Service was good. Only complaint was my mom had scallops in her tacos and they were not fresh . Everyone else was happy. read more

Let me set the scene for you: You trek across the entire island of Mackinac searching for some decent food and you find a sign that says best tacos on the island. You sit down and get the server that seems a bit off and jittery. No worries you are too hungry to care. You order of the whitest menu you have seen in your life with no real Mexican food to be expected. As the food gets there you stare is disbelief how hard it is to mess up a carne asada taco and accept your fate as you eat this trash food. In the background you hear the whitest, wealthiest, and loudest sailors in the world that seem to have overtaken this whole island somehow and somehow are all wearing the same Helly Hanson windbreaker while also somehow all being collectively wasted at 4 PM. Anyway back to the food, when I tell you I got hit with the most instant nausea the minute I took the first would be an understatment. It just tasted terrible man. Not to mention charging that much for literally steak and cabbage and american cheese. Like seriously to the owner maybe you should try actually mexican food before claiming they are the best on island. Also not to mention how are you going to claim that when you are litteraly the only mexican place on the island. Just trash man and Ive have a lot of mexican food.
