This is a beautiful restaurant on the water and the brunch was amazing (except the blueberry muffin)!

I brought my mother here for Mother's Day, and I'm really glad I did. Our waiter was very friendly and greeted us with a smile every time he came to the table. He even wished my mom a happy Mother's Day before taking our order, which was a nice touch. We started with the Street Corn Nachos as an appetizer, then ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich, both with fries on the side (an additional $4 each). This was an excellent place to bring my mom since she's vegetarian, and the restaurant had plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. The food was excellent, especially the nachos -- the queso was amazing. The restaurant also gives you a lot of customization options, like swapping chips for fries for an extra $4 or adding protein to the nachos for an additional charge. That said, while the nachos were really good, they were still $18 without any protein, which honestly felt overpriced for chips, cheese, and vegetables. We came during lunch service, and overall the food, service, and view made for a great experience. However, it is definitely on the expensive side. Most entrees seemed to range from around $20-30. Still, if you're willing to spend a little more for quality food, generous portions, and a great atmosphere, it's definitely worth visiting. read more

Pink Pony was poppin' when we visited in October, at the end of the tourist season. It felt like everyone on the island was at the restaurant, but amazingly, we were seated relatively quickly and were served quickly. There's something about being near water that makes a person feel like eating fish. So that's what I got: I ordered the Chippewa Broiled Whitefish, which was served with rice and vegetables. This dish was the way to go! It was light but satisfying, and although the fish is broiled in a white wine and lemon butter sauce, it wasn't too saucy. The fish was just saucy enough. Our table also got the Beer Battered Whitefish & Chips. The fries here are really good! I tasted a little of the battered fish, and it was nicely fried. I don't usually drink sweet, fruity alcoholic beverages, but Pink Pony has a signature drink: the Rum Runner. It's bright pink and frosty. I thought, what the heck! Let's get one. It was just as sweet as I imagined it would be, and it gave me a brain freeze, and it tasted like a liquid SweeTart. I'm glad I tried it, but it's a novelty, and it barely gave me a buzz. This restaurant is very kid-friendly, and they have a pretty large kids' menu, with breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. My kids got burgers, which come with fries and choice of a beverage. Pink Pony is attached to a hotel (Chippewa Hotel Waterfront), so this kind of serves as the hotel's in-house restaurant, and they serve a sit-down breakfast. There's also a bar, so you can duck in and enjoy a drink. The bar had a TV playing some sort of sport. Of course, there's a Pink Pony gift shop, with all kinds of pink paraphernalia, like sweatshirts that say Pink Pony Club, unicorn stuffed animals, mugs, candles and all kinds of pink things. Don't think you won't walk out of this place without the song "Pink Pony Club" stuck in your head, because you definitely will. read more

I quite like pink, this is the place for all things pink. Shopping bags, travel mugs or cups, bamboo bags, plastic or rubber pink bags, cloth to shopping bags, cardigans and anything your heart can imagine, they have it. They have Scout bags, super colorful, Vineyard Vines, to so much more. Some of their apparel items reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer style patterns. I came here with a big group and it was very nice. The view, the wait staff -- all very good. We did have some baby strollers and they weren't very accommodating with that just fyi. Highly recommend the fish tacos and the fish dip if you're into that. The sweet potato fries (unphotographed) were also delicious. Skip the wraps and the prime beef sandwich in my opinion. This place is so good, we are there twice in one day! You can't beat the views or the food. Fish Sandwiches for lunch and elevated meals for dinner, the Pink Pony is amazing. Wonderful views of the lake as you can sit right outside if you request it. The service is attentive and the food is delicious! We love Mackinac Island and love the Pink Pony. Make sure to put in a reservation well in advance as the wait times can grow to 2+ hours, but it is worth the wait if you plan ahead! read more

The restaurant refused to sit us until the entire group was here. We had 3 people ready and were waiting on 3 more who were on the ferry about 15-20 mins away. We were told that due to the restaurant policy we cannot be sat until everyone arrives so it is easier for the server. I do not understand this as i would have spent more money waiting for our party such as ordering a drink or two. I understand policy but sometimes a common sense approach goes a long way. We were also told that the table was reserved so why was i forced to wait outside if the table was reserved and ready. Never coming back here again!!! read more

Honestly, most touristy places like this have super crappy food so we were absolutely pleasantly surprised that this place had such tasty meals! And amazingly, they were served HOT. Yay! We arrived around 5:30 and put our name in on the waitlist. If you're not super picky, just tell them you don't care where you sit and you'll get seated fairly quickly. Otherwise you will probably wait upwards of 45 minutes to an hour. While the music is pretty loud in the bar area, he only plays two or three songs and then you have a decent DJ type scenario, which was perfect. Service was very friendly, I ordered the whitefish tacos and they were excellent! Hubby ordered the surf and turf and was gracious enough to share the grilled white fish with me as well. Athe sauce was a mix of a new Mexican red chili with lemon and was absolutely perfect for this grilled fish. I will crave this for quite some time. While it's pricey, you are paying for the ambience and the fact that you made it to Mackinac island after a long day of travel. They are within a few blocks of the ferry so you can get back to either Saint Ignace or Mackinac city for your evening lodging. I was told that I should go here to get a drink and I'm glad I did. There are several bars in town but this one has some character from It's tiny little stage behind the taps with the dancing pink ponies and its signature logo on the brick wall. Lots of beer to choose from around the area. Great service from the bartender and just a lovely place. Check out the gift shop too. I can't comment on the food since I only came for a drink, but it was about a 40 min wait at 4 PM on a Monday holiday. Would definitely come back and try again. read more

After our tour of Fort Mackinac, this was our first time here with my family of seven including three adults and three young children for lunch. Reservations are not allowed. We were lucky to get a spot on the wait list. The Pink Pony is rated one of America's 10 best restaurants for outdoor dining. The Pink Pony was also rated #1 on Yelp so I was happy. The Pink Pony restaurant is located behind the Chippewa Hotel. The bar is located off the hotel lobby. The restaurant is located behind the hotel overlooking the water. We were seated at a nice table on the upper deck overlooking the water. I started with the Famous Island Rum Runner with a specialty blend of premium rum & tropical juices for $16. I ordered it for an additional $16 or $32 total so that my Rum Runner was served in their iconic Pink Pony souvenir plastic tumbler. I was disappointed that the iconic Pink Pony souvenir plastic tumbler was made of plastic rather than glass. The plastic tumbler was not worth the extra cost. I prefer a glass tumbler. Our waitress Katherine W. arranged a brand new clean plastic tumbler in a Pink Pony branded bag. I didn't have to go to the bathroom to wash my used tumbler. I enjoyed my gourmet patty melt with medium rare grilled ground sirloin smothered with caramelized onions and mushrooms, topped with baby swiss cheese, pickle chips and Dijon mustard spread, served on grilled marble rye bread for $19. The menu had a lot of great options to choose from and while nothing was extremely unique, everything we got was incredibly well done. The beet salad was packed with beets and chicken. Ode to Pink Pony. We stop at Pink Pony as often as we can on the island. The food is always exceptional. Pictured here is the Whispering Angel Rosé and the calamari. I was truly in heaven. I've had a lot of calamari, but this reset the standard. How can fresh, wild calamari be so tender? They serve it with pepperinos which gives the fried calamari a great flavor that adds acidity. We also got the French onion soup, which is an absolutely must try. They have the best French onion soup on the island, including some of the fine dining at the hotel. If you're only coming to Mackinac island once in your life, you can't miss out on the Pink Pony. As a born Michigander, no where captures the vibe of our state like the Pink Pony: casual with a rustic luxury. Special shoutout to our server, Nicko. Who took our experience to the next level. Often on the island, you'll get young, student servers. If you're lucky, you'll get Nicko. His smile lights up a room and his dedication to giving a good experience blew us away. read more

Vibe and views were a 5/5, as was the service. Unfortunately Pink Pony was our introduction to how criminally overpriced Mackinac Island food is. The rum runners were great. Were they worth $16 ($18 to add a shot)? Not particularly. I will say, the portion sizes were generous. We arrived before they were officially serving dinner and ordered the whitefish dip and apple salad. They were good, but I was aghast that our bill + tip was nearly $90 for just two drinks and two appetizers. Sticker shock is a typical Mackinac experience, so I wouldn't discourage anyone from going here - especially if you want a fun patio experience. read more

So much hype and it's not apparent why. The Pink Pony is a fairly large establishment that includes an extremely overpriced gift shop even accounting for the need for the shipping, a bar area, a dining room and an upstairs dining room that is fairly expansive. The beet salad was earthy as you'd imagine and tasted fresh. The French Onion soup needs some love. There was no cheese pull cause it all came off in 1 big glob. It wasn't really oniony and was more salty. The croutons which were big hunks of bread were just absorbing all the liquid so I could squeeze it out a/my spoon. My order and my girlfriend's orders were not quite right. We both sent them back and they were immediately corrected. My girlfriends indicated that the drinks were really good. Pink Pony is one of the more unique restaurants on Mackinac Island. The restaurant is a part of the Chippewa Hotel, but has its own entrance on Main St. The patio offers views of the harbor where the ferries dock. The interior contains two different dining rooms. One room features the fun and bubbly main bar, where the "pink" and "pony" themes are comically evident. The other room is attached to the hotel lobby, and its look aligns more with the hotel's than the main bar's. Pink Pony's claim to fame is its rum runner. It's a great drink on its own, but I recommend adding a shot of dark rum. Overall, the food is satisfactory, but nothing to write home about. The pretzels sticks appetizer is decent, but I prefer the pony wings. As for the entrees, I've tried the burger, French dip, and whitefish tacos. Out of those, the tacos are the best option. This is easily my favorite bar on the island, as the atmosphere and cocktails make it one of a kind. read more

A great restaurant on Mackinac island after enjoying the scenery on the island we added our selfs on the waitlist which took around 1 hour the first time we added ourselves they quoted 1 hour and a half we did go back however to check if we were on the waitlist because we never got any confirmation text and the hostess missed the +1 for the United States phone number and we would have never known about our table being ready.. we were still viewing the rest of the island and they called us to tell us our table was ready 40 minutes into waiting so we missed our table and had to rejoin which sucked but it meant we were able to order dinner which was nice. Their grace period is 5 minutes after they text you your table is ready and I wish it was just a bit longer. We got sat outside which had really nice views. Food came out hot and was enjoyable by the water. No complaints about the food. Definitely recommend while on the island. read more

This is a very popular lunch restaurant on Mackinac Island so as soon as 11am hits, make sure you are in line to make reservations since they won't take them sooner. Probably a good practice when dealing with vacationers who are on their own "island time". We were sat in the bar side this visit. We didn't want to be outside because it was a cool day and for some reason they didn't seat us in the restaurant side. I didn't like the bar side - despite all the pink accents and ceiling, it's dark and dingy. The restaurant side is bright and clean looking. This did not ruin my dining experience because we were there for the food. Our server was great - she's a summer worker, as most are, and she was cheerful and accommodating. I ordered the Brie and Apple Flatbread and the Michigan Salad (half size portion and without onions). The flatbread also has arugula and honey drizzled on top. The combined tastes are really amazing - 10/10! The salad has a light vinaigrette already on it and it's very light so it didn't weigh the salad down - it complimented the apples, walnuts, and goat cheese tastes nicely. I would have enjoyed more goat cheese Hubby ordered the French Onion Soup and the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. The soup was really good with an awesome cheese pull (see pic) and the sandwich was very good - served with homemade chips. Gotta try one of the most popular spots on the island for lunch. They don't accept reservations just walk in. They were busy, we were told 30 min wait but got called just merely after 5 mins! -Whitefish sandwich was excellent!
