There's not much dancing at this Pink Pony [club], but it's fabulous nonetheless. Their whitefish dip is served hot and bubbly with pita chips and is my favorite on the island. If you like a sweet adult beverage, you'll love it here - give the bananas foster martini a go or their classic espresso martini. You can't miss with the rum runner as well. As for entrees, all varieties of white fish are delish as is the mushroom risotto and steak. If you can sit outside, the patio is lovely, but the dining room also has a great view of the water. Of course, you can't miss the gift shop with everything pink and sparkly you could dream of. **If you're coming during boat race week, be warned that all drinks here will be served in plastic. read more

If you love the song Pink Pony Club by Chappell Roan, this might be at the top of your list of places to check out on Mackinac Island. It's also well known for their outdoor seating. I was hoping to get a seat outside on the patio by the water, but it was a 90 minute wait, so Nate and I just grabbed a spot on the rail near the bar. The bar is very pink and fun. They're known for their rum runners, but I wanted something less sweet so I opted for a spritz. They have plenty of beer on tap and a full food menu, but we had just eaten. There is even a tiny stage behind the bar. I'm glad we got to stop by the iconic Pink Pony and might try to go again the next time I'm on the island. read more

Drinks were decent not great, the Straw-banero margarita was a bit watery, cloyingly sweet and super spicy 3:5. And the frozen island rum runner was also too sweet although not watery, 4/5. Salad 4/5, overdressed but all the elements worked together. French dip was OK, 3/5. What really stole the show here was the fried whitefish, the tartar sauce was excellent and paired perfectly. The fries were also golden perfection. My partner and I ended up eating the whole plate. This is the item to order if you come here - easily 5/5. Beware very popular with no reservations - recommend arriving promptly at 5:00 to put your name in or you'll have to wait. There is almost always a wait to get seated so get there early to get your reservation in. They will text you when your table is ready. Today, I had the Apple, Brie, and Walnut Flatbread and Boneless Chicken Wings with Mild Buffalo sauce. I typically order a salad with the flatbread but trying to be cautious right now with the lettuce issues. I rave about this flatbread - it has never disappointed. The taste is so good combined with the honey drizzle on top. The Wings were good - fried perfectly - and the Buffalo sauce complemented them nicely. Came here for a late dinner with my family. We had a party of 6 people and waited around 30 min to be seated. If you have a smaller party, you'll be seated faster. The service was friendly and prompt. My family shared the whitefish dip which was filling and tasty. I got the fish tacos and thought the sauce was a little too sweet for my liking. But the kale in the taco was a nice touch. The sweet potatoes fries were a big portion as well as an add-on. We were so excited to try the Pink pony when coming to Mackinaw, as it is highly advertised online. The food was average, like your neighborhood Applebees or Chilis and the service was good, for how busy they were. We came here for lunch and were told an hour and 15 minute wait. We only waited about 45 minutes. We were seated on the upper patio and got a lovely table right near the balcony that overlooks the water. I ordered the rum runner and husband ordered the spicy margarita and we both enjoyed our drinks. I ordered the chicken BLT with no lettuce and it came with a little piece of lettuce like it was on there and got pulled off (which is annoying when we are avoiding lettuce right now). Pink Pony was poppin' when we visited in October, at the end of the tourist season. It felt like everyone on the island was at the restaurant, but amazingly, we were seated relatively quickly and were served quickly. There's something about being near water that makes a person feel like eating fish. So that's what I got: I ordered the Chippewa Broiled Whitefish, which was served with rice and vegetables. This dish was the way to go! It was light but satisfying, and although the fish is broiled in a white wine and lemon butter sauce, it wasn't too saucy. The fish was just saucy enough. Our table also got the Beer Battered Whitefish & Chips. The fries here are really good! I tasted a little of the battered fish, and it was nicely fried. I don't usually drink sweet, fruity alcoholic beverages, but Pink Pony has a signature drink: the Rum Runner. It's bright pink and frosty. I thought, what the heck! Let's get one. It was just as sweet as I imagined it would be, and it gave me a brain freeze, and it tasted like a liquid SweeTart. I'm glad I tried it, but it's a novelty, and it barely gave me a buzz. This restaurant is very kid-friendly, and they have a pretty large kids' menu, with breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. My kids got burgers, which come with fries and choice of a beverage. Pink Pony is attached to a hotel (Chippewa Hotel Waterfront), so this kind of serves as the hotel's in-house restaurant, and they serve a sit-down breakfast. There's also a bar, so you can duck in and enjoy a drink. The bar had a TV playing some sort of sport. Of course, there's a Pink Pony gift shop, with all kinds of pink paraphernalia, like sweatshirts that say Pink Pony Club, unicorn stuffed animals, mugs, candles and all kinds of pink things. Don't think you won't walk out of this place without the song "Pink Pony Club" stuck in your head, because you definitely will. read more

I quite like pink, this is the place for all things pink. Shopping bags, travel mugs or cups, bamboo bags, plastic or rubber pink bags, cloth to shopping bags, cardigans and anything your heart can imagine, they have it. They have Scout bags, super colorful, Vineyard Vines, to so much more. Some of their apparel items reminds me of Lilly Pulitzer style patterns. I brought my mother here for Mother's Day, and I'm really glad I did. Our waiter was very friendly and greeted us with a smile every time he came to the table. He even wished my mom a happy Mother's Day before taking our order, which was a nice touch. We started with the Street Corn Nachos as an appetizer, then ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich, both with fries on the side (an additional $4 each). This was an excellent place to bring my mom since she's vegetarian, and the restaurant had plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. The food was excellent, especially the nachos -- the queso was amazing. The restaurant also gives you a lot of customization options, like swapping chips for fries for an extra $4 or adding protein to the nachos for an additional charge. That said, while the nachos were really good, they were still $18 without any protein, which honestly felt overpriced for chips, cheese, and vegetables. We came during lunch service, and overall the food, service, and view made for a great experience. However, it is definitely on the expensive side. Most entrees seemed to range from around $20-30. Still, if you're willing to spend a little more for quality food, generous portions, and a great atmosphere, it's definitely worth visiting. read more

Honestly, most touristy places like this have super crappy food so we were absolutely pleasantly surprised that this place had such tasty meals! And amazingly, they were served HOT. Yay! We arrived around 5:30 and put our name in on the waitlist. If you're not super picky, just tell them you don't care where you sit and you'll get seated fairly quickly. Otherwise you will probably wait upwards of 45 minutes to an hour. While the music is pretty loud in the bar area, he only plays two or three songs and then you have a decent DJ type scenario, which was perfect. Service was very friendly, I ordered the whitefish tacos and they were excellent! Hubby ordered the surf and turf and was gracious enough to share the grilled white fish with me as well. Athe sauce was a mix of a new Mexican red chili with lemon and was absolutely perfect for this grilled fish. I will crave this for quite some time. While it's pricey, you are paying for the ambience and the fact that you made it to Mackinac island after a long day of travel. They are within a few blocks of the ferry so you can get back to either Saint Ignace or Mackinac city for your evening lodging. I was told that I should go here to get a drink and I'm glad I did. There are several bars in town but this one has some character from It's tiny little stage behind the taps with the dancing pink ponies and its signature logo on the brick wall. Lots of beer to choose from around the area. Great service from the bartender and just a lovely place. Check out the gift shop too. After our tour of Fort Mackinac, this was our first time here with my family of seven including three adults and three young children for lunch. Reservations are not allowed. We were lucky to get a spot on the wait list. The Pink Pony is rated one of America's 10 best restaurants for outdoor dining. The Pink Pony was also rated #1 on Yelp so I was happy. The Pink Pony restaurant is located behind the Chippewa Hotel. The bar is located off the hotel lobby. The restaurant is located behind the hotel overlooking the water. We were seated at a nice table on the upper deck overlooking the water. I started with the Famous Island Rum Runner with a specialty blend of premium rum & tropical juices for $16. I ordered it for an additional $16 or $32 total so that my Rum Runner was served in their iconic Pink Pony souvenir plastic tumbler. I was disappointed that the iconic Pink Pony souvenir plastic tumbler was made of plastic rather than glass. The plastic tumbler was not worth the extra cost. I prefer a glass tumbler. Our waitress Katherine W. arranged a brand new clean plastic tumbler in a Pink Pony branded bag. I didn't have to go to the bathroom to wash my used tumbler. I enjoyed my gourmet patty melt with medium rare grilled ground sirloin smothered with caramelized onions and mushrooms, topped with baby swiss cheese, pickle chips and Dijon mustard spread, served on grilled marble rye bread for $19. I also ended with the Old Nation New England style IPA (6.8%) beer. My total bill was $260 excluding gratuity. Katherine W. served us very well. I would return here again.
