All of British Columbia seems to be flocking to this newly-opened Muji, so if you're curious but don't want to fight with the crowds, give it time to cool down a bit. Many people want to compare it to a Japanese form of Ikea, but both the prices and the quality of the items are a bit more elevated. So be prepared to pay more, but to also get things that are well-designed, stylishly minimal, and longer lasting. Compared to Mujis in Japan and the US, I would call this one medium sized. They have a variety of kitchenware, clothing, bedding, stationery, room organizer solutions (i.e. baskets and plastic shelving), and a small selection of snacks. The food is very candy-centered here (mainly marshmallows and hard candies), which is a bit of a bummer, as Mujis elsewhere in the world carry such a nice wider range of dry goods, teas, and other consumables. They also don't seem to sell larger furniture pieces here, like bed frames or chairs. One fun feature that I've only otherwise seen at the Muji Yurakucho in Tokyo is a large assortment of stamps that you can use to personalize any stationery, journals, or other paper products that you buy there. This is a fun way to create gifts or souvenirs for others. I'm not sure when the downtown Vancouver Muji is set to open, but in the mean time, head to Metrotown if you can bear the mall crowds.

Just opened this weekend. Line ups were crazy. Waited for 45 minutes. Muji which means "No Name" in Japanese is a retailer with a wide range of generic products, including apparel, home goods, stationaries, treats, etc... The store was well organized and neat for sure. Staff seemed friendly and there was no pressure from them as well unlike other stores. We went in just to see what kind of selection they had to offer. We ended up not buying anything. I would say the price was pretty high considering it is a no name brand. Although I did see a cool organizer for sunglasses. It was clear plastic with 4 drawers where you can place your sunglasses in. Worth to take a look at least once...maybe when the crowd dies down.

[Japanese Ikea] I've been to various Muji locations around the world and I find its pretty similar merchandise and pricing no matter where you are. The metrotown location is larger than most and even have a section for clothing. It was all pretty plain and cost a pretty penny. Their quality is good but I found it hard to justify shelling out $70 for a pair of plain sweats. The same goes for a lot of their housewares too. The place isstill pretty busy as its still a novelty but I suspect that'll die down soon. All in all, its an ok place to peruse and pick up a few knick knacks but dont't expect to come out with a ton of stuff.

    It's busy at Muji

**Unique shopping experience comes to Vancouver** Should you be interested in Muji? I first visited one in Hong Kong, it was all the rage back then too. The store in Metrotown sells a variety of household goods and stationary. They style is very minimalistic and simple. It is easy to have these products whether it is a basket or a toilet brush fit in with the decor of your house. If anything, the stationary is quite nice and gives you a nice zen feeling using it. Because the store is new, it is very busy, but this will change in time and hopefully it will just become somewhat busy. The cash line up is processed quickly, it was just difficult to browse certain items, especially the stationary with the crowd that had formed around the display. I wouldn't make a trip of it, but if you are already in Metrotown, it's worth it to drop in and see what it's all about. To find it, it's on the ground level heading towards the Bay just before the esclator up to the food court!

First time stepping into this store as I usually do not walk past this section of the mall. There was a little bit of everything. The minimalist look was great to look at but I found most of the items overpriced. Skin care items had an English label stuck over the Japanese label and there are more established brands here for less with better presentation. Clothing was also pricy and I found it it difficult to spend $130 for a convertible scarf/cardigan. Kitchenware was very overpriced as I could easily buy cheaper chopsticks and spoons elsewhere. It was the small snack section and pens that excited me. I ended up buying a bag of marshmallows ($3) and tested out the different pens ($2). Definitely the more affordable and worthwhile items I would return for.

    Cute sock display.

The amount of product compared to Robson location was better stocked. Staff was helpful and they actually have a sale section.

IN STORE: 5 ONLINE SHIP&SOLD BY WALMART: ZERO…read more in store it's great. Well stocked always tons of staff. Lots of shopping carts. Terrible parking lot set up but it is what it is, great mall access on both floors. A bit terrible when it comes to cash payment if you want to go to the mall you gotta turn around after checking out and go walk through Walmart to the other exits that lead to the mall where you then get the eye about if you paid or not so it's a tad of a hassle. Online. Online they are terrible. Give them a GRADE F- Ordered 3 times with them DURING COVID: unclear that you are buying from 3rd party and paid nothing shipped no response from seller and Walmart throws up the hands and pretends it's not their issue at all no idea don't care not our problem. POST COVID: ordered a few sterlite boxes. Website shows. Based on my postal code. There was sufficient stock. Ordered "3" and 5 small and large. They "cancelled my 3" and shipped the 5. Because I needed a matching set it is now below the threshold to order lone "3" from elsewhere. Nowhere to cancel. Reached out to chat. Confirms. Canceled. Got that "3" times telling me straight up after asking. Yes. It is cancelled. Nothing will ship. You will get notified in about an hour it's all cancelled. Yeah? 1 hour later get notification. It shipped. Called them. Oh. We can't do anything about it but you can refuse it or once it's arrived you can take the trip and come give it back to us at your nearest Walmart or we can give you a label to send back... oh yeah. I ordered from BC and they ship from BC... you wanna send it back?.... The return label goes to ONTARIO so until they get the things back they hold your money hostage for about 2 more weeks. Ridiculous!! Turns out. I did need more. Enough to place another order of free ship. And one arrived cracked. Packed cracked. Not damaged in transit. Sloppy employees don't even check its condition before sending to you Okay. Dragged it back to their store. Oh. We don't refund in store. It will be automatically on your card you paid. You should get it in "5-10 business days". What a joke Ordered second order of 8 and 8 and one of each size again arrives cracked chipped broken. Yet again. Dragged it to the store. Yep yep once again money held hostage for days on end Overall. Cannot recommend the online option. Walmart.ca is a NIGHTMARE! However. In store the experiences have been great. Stick to Amazon omg. Amazon is like A+++ compared to Walmart which clearly earns a F- and that's being super generous Walmart: great prices, quick to take your money, absolutely incompetent if things go wrong with online orders, and customer service is more aggravating than the situation itself.

It is a land line so does not accept codes. There was no opportunity to send it to my email address . I do want to buy from Walmart. I assume they don't want my business.

I put my dollar loonie coin token in the slot and the darn key lock wouldn't come out. Luckily it worked on the other cart beside it. They made a huge change in the checkout area where they converted a large portion of the regular registers into a huge self checkout area. Kinda disappointed at this change since i almost never use self checkout. Granted, it was a little late at 9:30pm, but there were no full serve regular registers available at the time. (only if you pay in actual cash, which i didnt have.) The staff person was nice and rung up my items for me after i requested help. Avoid Wal-mart's homemade pastries! Their cherry turnovers were improperly baked making them super hard to bite into. The amount of cherry filling inside was also lacking. I felt i wasted $6. As i was making my way to the parking lot with my items, i got a unpleasant surprise because there was that fight broke out between the security gaurd and some brazen shoplifters. The shoplifters ran into the wrong store door so it didnt open but they still managed to force themselves out eventually. The security guard tried to grab their stolen goods in a epic tug-of-war match and ultimately lost. The shoplifters got away! Kudos to the security gaurd for trying to stop them. It was a 4 vs. 1 tug of war so he was outnumbered. Also kudos for him vigilantly shooing away people that didn't wear a face mask, which was required, during covid19 . On the plus side, I found a good $2 off deal on shampoo. But best of all, I got a great deal on Purex toilet paper, and there were still plenty left. Got a few packs to use during the second pandemic wave. And yes, you can buy more than one! Score! Overall not bad...3/5.

Just had one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've ever had at Canadian Tire…read more I went in to buy figure skates for my daughter and have them sharpened. I also brought my son's skates to be sharpened at the same time. Simple enough, right? Apparently not. There was absolutely nobody upstairs in the sports/skate area for a solid 15 minutes while I stood there trying to figure out the process. Eventually I had to go downstairs to customer service. The employee there told me to pay for everything first -- which I did immediately -- and then said SHE would come upstairs to sharpen the skates. So I waited. 20 minutes later, still nobody. My son finally went downstairs to ask what was going on, and her response was: "Oh, nobody came up?" Excuse me? YOU were the one who said you were coming upstairs. She then got on the walkie-talkie to supposedly call someone. Another 15 minutes passed. Still nobody showed up at the sharpening station. The only reason anything finally happened was because I was heading downstairs to complain and happened to run into another employee by chance. I even asked him if he'd received a call to meet me upstairs -- he said no. So in total, after already paying, I waited roughly 40 minutes just trying to get two pairs of skates sharpened. I work hard all day. This was the small window of time I had to do something for my kids, and instead it turned into a complete waste of time because this store is run with staggering incompetence. The staff were disorganized, communication was nonexistent, and management should be embarrassed that they allow the store to operate like this. I will never set foot in this store again.
